A beautiful trail up to this cache, amazing scenery along the walk. Climbed the steep hill to reach the cache but had no luck finding it after searching for about 20 minutes, thinking cache may be missing. Although ended as a DNF was still grateful for the beautiful trail leading to the cache.
Sadly no find today.. had a big look around turning up many rocks and found a couple of spots that it might of been hidden but nothing underneath
Didn't have trouble finding this one. Parked at the Steamers Beach car park and used the Trig Hill track. I was careful to check that there was no security around before going to the cache. Log was a little damp but was able to sign it. TFTC sharv999.
After several stints of naval officer training HMAS CRESWELL many, many moons ago it was great to revisit parts of my old stomping ground. However as reflected in StarsAlign's log below, this cache was possibly located a little too close to the old stomping ground.
Thanks, sharv999.
Thanks, sharv999.
After much car travel up and down the eastern Australian coast this year (including three trips to QLD) how tiring could the day be caching with colleagues in Jarvis Bay. Being a week day we struck unexpected road works so the time caching was kept to a bare minimum. It was a tiring trip as a result but that’s life!
The magnificent hike around the 'island' took up the majority of our time picking up less than a handful of caches. Worth the trip for the views and exercise but we will need to come back to spend more time in this gorgeous location.
Logged after permission was sort from the CO to sign. Cache quickly located but a security guard was quick to remove us from the location so we were unable to sign. On the news tonight we hear that there are navel exercises re: anti-ship missile training occurring in NSW. The security guard told us that the GZ is located on secure Defence land, and the current exercises were ongoing till early August. Certainly the area doesn't look secure from the track end ie: no fences. Think that for us today, our timing was unfortunate as there would normally be no one about as it's the end of the Defence property road. TFTC sharv999.

An enjoyable walk around the 'island.' Wonderful views while caching. Thanks for approval from CO to log as we were denied access.

Found it after reading the helpful clue. Thanks for putting a cache on a summit--those are the best!
Came up from Hole in the Wall to make it a little more of a hike.
Just for "fun", walked down along the towers. . .where I ran into a someone doing work there who highlighted I was technically on military property and probably should get off lest security come by. But if you just head to the trig, you won't encounter such things!

This trig was on my radar for quite some time, and after 6 trips over 3 years, I have now found all of the trigs available in Jervis Bay. Now I just have to do something about the Farnham Trig. Now, as for this cache, I saw that it was in need of some help, so I bought along two replacement containers, hoping that the CO would give me his/her blessing. I chose the the smaller and stronger of the two and placed it based on the hint, but under a rock. I still hope to get the CO's blessing...but needed to log the cache in case I forgot about it. Photo attached.
no find after cycling along part ssndy coastal ridge track. recent slashing may have disturbed the cache. no views either due to bush growth
I paid the entry fee, found what I thought was the best parking location, then headed off on foot to GZ. The trail was mostly very leafy. Good thing I had my wits about me, because there was a red bellied-black snake (see image) at one point, getting some sun on the trail.
After working my way around the snake, I got close to GZ. I looked all around. At one point I moved a rock, and guess what, there was another snake under there, and I had just pissed it off. Two snakes in April! But I guess the weather was warm. This one was a small black snake.
The log book was long gone, it turned out. It had probably been whisked away by a bit of breeze weeks or months before I got to GZ. I took some photos of my backpack at the trig as the closest thing I could get to a log. If I had the right gear with me, I might have been tempted to replace the cache myself. But I didn't have permission, now that I think about it.
I walked carefully back to the car. The red-bellied black snake had disappeared. But I watched my feet closely, lest a third snake cross my path.
Normally I wouldn't log a cache like this. I'm not happy unless my name is in the log book. But I went a long way for this, paid the entry fee, and fought off two deadly snakes (slight exaggeration) to get to GZ. I'm hoping the photographic proof of my visit is sufficient.

Unable to enter this part of ACT due to COVID-19 pers Director National Park with a potential fine of $1050 to $10500.
Original Thursday plans were abandoned, so I made new plans to catch up with a friend in Sanctuary Point. After exploring a few hotspots, I decided to come back and clean out the caches in the area! Most caches were found easily and in good condition - Thanks to the Cache Owners for their hides.
A brisk walk along the Trig trail and I was at GZ in a short amount of time. The cache was located easily enough with the assistance of the hint. The cache contents are wet, but signable. TFTC

Considering this one is 'in' my home state, I thought I should give it a crack this morning after a big weekend with the boys. So I parked in the suggested spot and made my way up the track. Very nice little trail up the hill. The find took a little longer because I misinterpreted the hint but I made it just in time for a security truck to drive up to inform me I was trespassing on military grounds and escort me off the base. Ah well, just happy to have made the find. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC sharv999
Mostly out for GCA caches to earn the opportunities to gain more points in the current game but can't go past a close cache and you can't get much closer than this. I wasn't sure that I would make it to this cache but surprised myself by arriving not that much later than Sol de Lune. TFTC SL
Out with Smittengranny on a day trip down this way and this was our next stop....along with the trig for GCA.
The walk in took us just under 25 minutes, and of course that final little uphill section to get GZ wasn't a welcomed sight, but you get that. Once at GZ, the trig was snapped and the cache was soon spotted....almost where I was standing. Log was signed, cache returned and the walk back to car started.
Thanks sharv999....it was a fun little walk with a good reward at the end.

Down in the area and this one looked interesting so we found a good road and started to get close before seeing the Navy sign so we continued to the nearby car park and found the track. Nice walk and interesting sight at GZ. A bit of a search and we made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
#1445 Almost missed this one. I had run a query for caches around the Jervis Bay area and for some reason this did not appear on it. Fortunately it popped up on the phone app when we were visiting the old lighthouse. Grabbed the coordinates off the phone and plugged them into the gps which was just as well as shortly after we lost signal on the phone. Got to the parking area and headed up the track. Nothing too strenuous but the last 50m or so was pretty steep. Got to GZ and after a fairly short look found the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC charv999, some interesting things about this area but the view is very limited.
With a couple of hours to kill this afternoon I decided to hunt for a few caches in the area that we hadn't found, this being one of them. It was an enjoyable walk here and an easy find using the clue. An attractive D/T rating although it was much easier than anticipated. TFTC

Writing on my cell so I got to keep it short. This was our eight find in Australia and our first find in Jervis Bay! We're in the country for a month on our tour around the world. This box was a quick find after a nice walk (both difficulty ratings seem a bit high). Many thanks to sharv999!
jess_marree666 appears to be an armchair logger. They were in Egypt only a few days ago. Suggest this log, and every other one of their logs is false.
Geo dad took 4 Yr old geo kid on this amazing adventure. The little fella did so well on the 1.2 km return walk.
Forgot a pen hahaha

As Lucifer’s obviously has been burned by a bush fire and this one hasn’t been found for more than 6 months we were afraid we needed to leave Jervis Bay without the first (and probably only) ACT Cache on our Geocaching world trip. But luckily this one was an easy find even we took a steep shortcut we wouldn’t have needed to to get to the site
Beautiful walk first in the morbing. Except for the killer hill. Found the cache added some more paper. Hopefully the first of many today

A lovely day for a driving lesson for my son. This was the third cache stop of 5 in Jervis Bay as part of a long round trip from Canberra. Quickly found, after a welcome break from driving. TFTC.

Been waiting for a cool day to grab this cache. Took a while to find the right track, then a nice easy walk to an interesting gz. Thanks for bringing us here. SL TFTC sharv999

12008. Found during a work visit in the area.
I've been meaning to head out to this trig one trip to the area, and with a cache there as well now I decided that today was the day. Parked nearby for the 500m-ish walk up to GZ. Dodged a sunning black snake on the way up - my 4th snake this season already ! Once there it was a quick find at GZ. Log signed, cache returned, then I headed off back to the car and home.
Thanks again sharv999 !!

Camping at Bristol, the mastermind suggested a mtb ride to this cache via Steamers carpark. Found with assistance, thanks for the cache! Enjoyed visit to this distinctive landmark and challenging mtb ride, thanks!
Beautiful sunny Easter Saturday so made a day out of it in Booderee National Park. Parked at Steamers Beach car park (which was packed) and then made the easy walk up the firetrail. Like others before me, I was the only one to depart the main track heading towards the beach. Once at GZ finding the cache took a bit of time, and it had some water in it and the log was soaked. Since there was nobody else there, I dried out the log and container before signing the now dry log and replacing as found. I had a bit of a wander around the antenna towers and then made my way back to the car. Thank you for placing the cache here and bringing me to a place I heave seen in the distance numerous times from the main road. TNLNSL TFTC.
Bit of a hike to this one as road closure made us approach from different angle. Interesting place. TFTC
This cache was a little tuff. had trouble getting a start into this cache. A good steady uphill climb for 30 min, but enjoyed the find and the walk back DOWN to the car. TFTC
This was a part of Booderee I'd not been too, so it was a good excuse to to go exploring. When you approach Booderee, you can see a large white globe above the tree line...when you get to GZ you can get a close-up of it. The military guys working there told me it was to do with satellite telecommunications, and is used by all the emergency services as well as Navy.
Unfortunately these same guys were working in the building right near GZ, so I had ample time to wander around the facilities until they moved on, when a quick reconnaissance of GZ soon had the cache in hand. I'd walked in on the track from Steamers beach car park, but walked back down the road, past a wetland area with huge numbers of frogs in it!

Holidaying @ sussex inlet, we thought we'd spend the day exploring/ caching in Booderee NP. This one was on our list. Carpark was packed, thankfully everyone was hiking to the beach. We turned up the firetrail & enjoyed a pleasant stroll to gz. Quick find & log signed. Tftc.
Been a day off today and also school holidays, I decided to pick up Chalk and the the geo grand children to do some walking and this was on the target, perfect weather and lots of extra energy to spend by the little people. We soon arrived at GZ and found what we came for. Little bit of a lesson explaining what a trip point was, and what they can be utilised for. TFTC
Along for a couple of caches with J & J.au and the goekids, we had this one in our sights. Fearing quite a big hill, it turned out to be a lovely walk, not too hard after all. Thanks for the cache.
Oh wow, our second FTF today! So thrilled to see this had popped up when we were heading to Lucifer's Elbow, so thought we'd give it a shot. Sure is a happy feeling when you find that empty log to fill in! Checked out the whole car park initially, and hoping Nav wasn't going to make us follow that crow, we had a lovely wet walk along the misty track and found a very surprising GZ. Nav had the energy to climb the final obstacle to score the find. Thanks so much for bringing us here and for the cache sharv999
