Found it! Stopped by on the way home from a day out caching near Murray Bridge and the Kinchina Conservation Park. Took a few minutes to find it, spotted it on my second lap around the tree. Getting quite windy this afternoon. TFTC!
Day 18 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Our last day together on this trip, we headed even further afield from Loxton. fitzy_1965, albida33 & I signed as MAF or FAM to save room.
Mannum was our target, along with two OTD series, some oldies and some nice D/T’s.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 19. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 13. For our last day of caching together, we had to look quite a far way off from Loxton. we ended up heading all the way to Mannum to visit two OTD series. Along the way there were several other aches to be found and importantly an Canberra Lab cache as well. Caching was with Fitzy_195, MinnieK and albida33 and logs were signed as F.A.M. or similar, It turned into quite a long late drive home but we have had a great few weeks caching during and after the Rutherglen event and I cannot wait to do it all again on even more South Australian cache series
After the OTD series, we headed out onto some back roads for a few caches before turning for home.
Thanks for the cache earthlight

Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 18. Today we headed out early to get two of the On This Day series (November and March) plus the usual cherry-picking around Mannum and Palmer, before finishing up some Trads around Loxton that we have driven past far too many times ! We got to do the ferry ride at Swan Reach twice again which we always enjoy This was the next find of the day, and it was a quick find once at GZ. Signed, replaced, and then we headed off to the next one on the list.
Thanks earthlight !!

I was out with earthlight and LíB for the day driving around the hills and heading to Mannum and Murray Bridge. A fun day visiting some out of the way caches and stopping at a few others that needed maintenance. [^]
Stopped here for earthlight to check and now have my stamp in the log. I love visiting these old ruins out in the middle of nowhere and wondering what they could tell us about days gone by.
Thanks for the cache earthlight.

Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Spending a few days in Mannum. With the extreme weather of yesterday we werent sure we could access all of the caches that were our target for the day! We had no need to go on the main road but noted the detours in place and the ferry was surely busy!
A part of our day took in November of OTD series and it was possibly the hardest of the whole series that we have completed. Im sure the grey day and the constant drizzle did not help. But smilies all around on completion.

Target cache of the day, as this is one of the missing sectors for 360° from home as prescribed by ProjectGC. Thanks Earthlight!
On a very hot afternoon we decided driving around in the car finding a few caches would be as good as anything. We found a few mostly driveby’s or very short walks. Thanks to the owners for placing for us to find.
Gee. We wondered what stories this ruin was keeping secret. What made the people walk away form their house. How many children grew up here. The cache was easy to find and in good condition. Thank you for sharing this area with us.
Attended an event today, so thought I would stop off and capture a few caches on the way home with geo pup Douglas what an interesting places that poses so many questions TYFTC

Today with COVID-19 requirements still in effect, and with jesswrigley wanting a rest day at home, I decided to head up to the hills to do a couple of OTD series that hadn't been found for some time. These were the March OTD series, followed by the November OTD series, just around Mannum.
In addition, I stopped off at various locations to run along the trails and in reservations/parks to do some fitness. I enjoyed the journey out and about, and made stops in Charleston, around Tungkillo, Palmer, and Mannum. Mannum was a great little spot next to the river, and keen to return in the future to explore around here further.
It was a cloudy, coolish day that helped provide solo motivation at jumping in/out of the car so frequently.
Another nice old ruin in this series. The *Touch of the Past* series is definitely in my top three geocaching old history series. This cache didn't take long to find, with the cache container lid was cracked, but the logbook was in good shape. Thanks earthlight for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Hi there earthlight.
We found your cache **"Touch of the Past 5"** today. (This makes our find count 21880).
Today we headed out from Murray Bridge so we could attempt the "OTD March"series, plus any others we came across on our travels. We started at 31.3 & from there we proceeded to log caches up to 1.3 before heading back to camp. On our way back we followed a "next closest" sort of route so we could find this one. As it's not part of the series it deserves a finely crafted log, not one of the crappy cut-n-paste ones that usually are associated with power trails.
We found 48 caches today & DNF'd 1. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

A nice quick find and great view across the field to this tumble down ruin. Hard to imagine what it would have been like when it was a working farm. Thanks for this series, 3rd of this TOTP series and 17th of the day with CacheClosed1847. #337

Number 2 of 3 for the day while out looking at the falls nearby. Amazing scenery and the kids had fun. Quick and easy find as it stood out. TNLN. Cheers.

Quickly found and a nice view from this spot despite the grey weather. Totally agree - would love to know the history behind these old ruins. TFTC
TFTC, spent a fabulous weekend at Mannum after our daughters played netball here! Leaving a trinket in every cache.
We are staying in Murray Bridge with friends and decided to head out today to do some caching. We enjoyed the variety of hides and lovely scenery in some of the caches we went to. The Murray River is looking magnificent. This was one of the caches we targetted and found. Nice placement and great coords. Thanks to earthlight for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Found with Ferocious Flea while heading to home to Mount Gambier after my nephews 16th Birthday.

Another quick find as we toured the countryside today.
This cache was memorable for the nest of bull-ants that we parked on. I think we upset the ants, and we had quite a few crawling all over the windscreen as we drove away.
Thanks earthlight.

The objective of today was to complete the March OTD series, however Mrs Gizmo decided to take the less-travelled roads to get there, so that we could visit a few "out of the way" caches that have been on her to-do list for a while.
Another lonely ruin that makes you stop and think about the lives of the early settlers of our harsh land.

We don't believe that we have seen so many old loved homes anywhere else but SA in our travels.
We try to picture and pretend that we know how many people lived in the home and what the configuration of the inside was. SL TFTC
