Looked a few times over the years.Just about to give up, when local noticed me and showed me where she found it.What a stupid location. TFTC.
11/8/2024 Find #7111On a day out with Pprime for a particular hike, and we were driving past this cache. Well it was only right that we stop in here now, as there was no one around and I had previously had no success here. Luckily Pprime knew what I was after, and confirmed my suspicions. I just had to scour a little deeper than I had been doing, thats all. And shortly after, I was placing my name in the log. So glad I can finally cross this one off the list! Thanks for the cache lucasladd.
Water Crossings Dugandan ParkNeeding some caches for a couple of challenges I'm working on, and it being such a beautiful day, I headed to Scenic Rim and Lockyer Valley to find some caches.Ahh yes, this one. I'd been here once before but didn't look as I got scared off by the muggles nearby. Different story today, after checking a few different places I came up with the prize. Log signed, all replaced as found. TFTC lucasladd# 10326CheersWillis007
Not here at all. Search for a bit but I reckon she needs some attention. We back though the activities to try and see what it looks like, no good.
After an epic fail with Giraffe18 and a group of muggles a while back I find myself back down at The Dugandan again so thought I'd give this one another shot. This time Peppa was on hand (in person) to give us some much needed assistance as he'd already logged this one. Can't believe we missed it the first time around. It really does take some persistence (and knowing EXACTLY where to look is also most helpful).
Always feel blue when we don’t find GZ. The friendly muggles were most insistent on helping find it but we weren’t able to locate the cache.
DNF for Giraffe18 and I today.
We befriended 3 Muggles one of whom looked VERY hard for us and STILL couldn't come up with the goods. I really dont think it's there anymore

I think this one needs Maintenance. Looked quite diligently with a few people.
Yippee we found it we did need a Paf to find this tricky hide with a few muggles watching on.

Stopped on our way to Mt French and after a while we were not sure if this was a good idea. Searching & avoiding the numerous wasp nests, we finally made a PAF to a previous finder & with that nudge we finally uncovered the tricky hide.
After a hike to the upper portals, I made my way home stopping at a few caches along the way in the rain.
I stopped and started to search but the rain came in harder so I retreated to the car and reached out for help. Got a hint and was then able to make the find. Tried to sign as quickly as Plato not get the log wet. Tftc lucasladd

This was pretty much my last Boonah cache to collect and I had studied logs carefully before arriving early this morning.
After arriving at the coordinates, I asked myself, where is the least likely place to find a cache here? Bingo!
I retreated to my car to clean out the gunky log remains and replace it with something new.
Replaced back in position: good luck little fellow.
TFTC and good challenge today.

Found it after two previous attempts. Log is incredibly wet and turned to mush. Have a picture of the cache if wanted by the co.
Found your cache whilst on Scrats Great Aussie Adventure.
Did find it with the help Gunny69
Not where GPSr had us.
Wasn't able to sign log as it was saturated.

I'd read through some of the previous logs enroute to GZ and I was expecting a tough hunt...I got what I expected. As I pulled up in the carpark near GZ with NurseyJulie, there was a solo body lurking around the structure. Hmm, cacher I wondered... [?]
I brought the cache back up on the gadget and watched the lurker for a few seconds, then as he started surveying every nook and cranny, my question had been answered.
I headed in, asked if he had lost something and he eagerly replied yes, a geocache. OK then, let's get into it with two sets of eyes and see how we go. Nice to meer Poiter.h from Victoria enjoying the cooler weather up North. [^]
We scouted around for a while before I sent out a PAF SOS to a previous finder. With a nudge, we were back into the hunt but still no win. Certainly a D4.
A little more info gleaned from the PAF and NurseyJulie (who found the cache in 2016 and rememberred absolutely nothing about the location) jumped out of the car to help. I suspect she was tiring of waiting for the persistent ones.
The container was tracked down by NJ in an area wide of where our gadgets wanted us. I have to say even if the GPS put me in the spot where the cache was, I would have dismissed it anyway as a 'no way'. The log is unusable due to moisture ingress and we were unable to etch our names. Pointr.h has a photo in his log to prove the find. I suspect the cache will continue to suffer a wet log due to its placement.
Cheers lucasladd.

It wasn’t my plan to visit Boonah and surrounds, but that’s where I’ve ended up…
This cache definitely earns its D4 rating today… I made a PAF who said forget about that and trust your GPS… really?
With further instruction I found the container… as mentioned by Ms Maddy the log is damp but I managed to make my mark before returning everything as found…

All good things come to those who wait Or so the story goes I got a nudge then had to wait till fewer muggles on the verandah over the road.
Found nowhere near my previous search area Log is paper mache and cache coated in mud. Gave it a wipe over. Got my stamp on the log. But it needs TLC.

This weekend, with a scheduled Mount Alford wedding, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I used the occasion to base ourselves at Boonah for a long weekend exploring the Scenic Rim vicinity.
On Friday, we took a short stop in Ipswich before arriving in Boonah staying in an ex-church accommodation.
On Saturday, we explored Mount French, Boonah, Lake Wyaralong, and then returned via Kalbar completing the *Churches of the Scenic Rim !* Adventure Lab.
On Sunday, we took a hike up Mount Greville, and after checking out a few stops along Reynolds Creek, we returned to Boonah for showers, before driving back home.
Today, we had a few activities planned, starting out with a morning drive up to Mount French for a short walk, and we got to see the awesome rock climbing walls. We then had a Boonah lunch geocaching event that was well attended. During the afternoon, we relaxed at a winery next to Lake Wyaralong, and then returned via Kalbar completing the *Churches of the Scenic Rim !* Adventure Lab. We also managed to make a quick stop at the sunflower farm as they started to flower whilst the season/timing was right.
This was my third visit today, and after thinking it had disappeared, I guess I had to acknowledge my mistake when suddenly a string of finds were recorded against this geocache! So apologies for the *Needs Maintenance* log (although I did note that there was a new replacement log, despite there not being an owner's maintenance log?).
I had some further information about this geocache, and so, once again, I began to search. This time, I tried a new strategy, and suddenly, the cache revealed itself! Eureka! The cache container and logbook were in good shape. It also looks like that we're not the first visitors at this geocache today too. Thanks lucasladd for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Wow haven’t found one hidden like this before!! Was very surprised when my daughter pulled it out! Thought the coords must’ve been off!!
One year ago I came on a solo mission to find this geocache and managed a 75% search due to muggles. Another quick look on a family trip but nothing to be seen quickly. Then on the first weekend of October, about 20 geocachers descended here before dinner across the road. A combination of previous finders, experienced and the uninterested participated, but still no geocache to be found. It was uttered that the CO might have x-ray vision to see something we can not. But either way, I had given up.
But I have far more persistent, tenacious or insane mates. I received word from Fangsoki, that he and Pprime had made a special visit to GZ for a proper look. And they are certainly all three of the above! I can't fault their logic and scratching around as the message I received was that they'd found it - and some hefty hints on where exactly it was. A mystery I'd given up on, solved.
Unexpected as it was that they'd found it, also unexpected I received the message when I was at Aratula, already out grabbing geocaches. With time to burn, and not so far away, I figured I'd check it out for myself. Anything eluding being found for almost 2 years is worth seeing.
With the hints in mind, I was able to park strategically and once out of the car, made the find in approximately 0.48 seconds. It's certainly at the co-ordinates, and it is certainly a micro. I believe I was going wrong by assuming it was a far more clever or creative hide than it actually is. But hey, the logbook was dry, so I signed my name and replaced as found by about 13:30.
Hopefully, it's not so long unfound and teasing geocachers this time. I can certainly think of about 17 other names who might like to scratch the itch of where it was hidden. Thanks lucasladd, for the bonus smiley this afternoon (and Fang + Prime for telling me where to look!)

A boys day out with Fangsoki - found ourselves passing by and decided to take another look in better sunlight after a recent DNF last month. Determined to find it this time we got down and dirty and applied geo-logic. Found something interesting and while my first pass returned nothing, Fangsoki made a better job of it and the prize was revealed. Took some effort, although for a while it'll be a little easier for others I suspect. A little. Good to tick this one off now.
Thanks lucasladd for entertaining me at this location.

Pprime and I were in the area and decided to look in on this cache.
We had both been here before early last month. We looked for it after we had dinner at the pub. Nada to be found that night.
I decided to apply some logic to the situation. No one is complaining about the coords.. and the cache must be in a place where it is not going to be compromised.
So we hunted knowing what we knew. I checked an area Pprime had already checked. In his defence, I did do it in an bit of an odd fashion... and lo and behold... a cache. I held it up and cleared my throat in Pprime's direction. It took Pprime a second to realise I had the cache in hand.
I opened it up and signed the log. Just for the record, the logs indeed indicate this cache has been here all along - and it was in good condition. Also I found the coordinates to be fairly accurate.
While signing the log, a woman and her son appeared wondering what we were doing. We explained geocaching to her and she was going to look it up.
After she'd gone I rehid the cache as found. Happy to cross this one off. TFTC lucasladd

Out for another country drive with Mr CuriousQuest. We searched for a long time before making a PAF. Despite knowing what we were looking for and roughly where to look, we had no luck in locating this cache.
Today, I joined Beardman75 and karicka to hike down to Gap Creek Falls in Main Range National Park. We completed the multi-cache and nearby geodes EarthCache, enjoying the scenic views of the falls and surrounds, and then strolling along the river. We returned back to the car park, and then I completed another hike up this time to Mount Cordeaux, Bare Rock and Morgan's walk. Despite the sunny afternoon, the walk beneath the forest canopy made it a rather enjoyable walk up to the ridge top. I made a final drive through Boonah, before driving back home for the day.
Armed with some more intelligence from a previous finder, I thought I’d have another check here. Both karicka and I had previously checked the spots to where the cache should have been, but I thought I would have a very fine and diligent search there. Again, I had no luck. Perhaps I missed it, but my money is on the fact that the cache is indeed missing, so in desperate need of a CO check. Hopefully this cache gets attended to prior to its imminent archived status. Thanks anyway lucasladd for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Hi lucasladd,
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
If you require more time please be sure to **post a note** (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date, if you do not then you cache may be archived without further note from a reviewer. Caches archived due to lack of maintenance are no longer unarchived and you will need to submit a replacement as a new cache.

I happened to stop across the road for lunch on a family road trip on 12 June. Fine, I'll look again, even if it feels pointless. Alas, still no joy after a few minutes.
With continued DNFs, and no response to a call for maintenance, maybe it's time to put us out of our misery?

No luck with this one . Tried to think outside of the box but everything looked too dangerous.
Today, I joined karicka in hiking up Mount Edwards. An early morning start had us arrive at Moogerah Dam, where the area was already filling up with Mother's Day group plans, and it looks to be a lovely day and picnic area. We then spent the next 3.5 hr making the hike up to the peak, and then returned via a detour to the west of the dam. We then returned home via Mount Alford, stopping off at the pub for a well earned drink, and made a few miscellaneous geocache stops at various creeks and cemeteries.
Add a couple more DNFs to the ever growing list. We found it odd that there seemed to be a period of finds, and then nothing for the last few years? We checked all of the possible hiding spots around the place, feeling around (probably no different to everyone else who had been here), and then even checked around where we had the coordinates just slightly nearby. After 10 minutes of searching, and what felt like checking most places, we decided to cut our losses for today. Thanks anyway lucasladd for the cache placement.
Given the significant amount of DNFs and period of time since the last find, would the CO mind in checking on this one again? Perhaps this geocache's difficult should even be escalated to D5.0 status, if it is in fact, still there?

Arrrgh! Searched for half an hour then left defeated, out smarted by the cache. We will return
Spend 30 min looking for the cache. No success unfortunately . Back to the drawing board on this one.
Spent quite a while here and concentrated our search more at gz and decided there was one obvious hide given the location. However in saying that we still couldn't spot the hide. Thanks for the challenge.
Too good for me! I’m assuming that you do not have to climb the platform, because it states, no unauthorised entry’.
2nd attempt at this one. Not a super long look so we will be back as I have a feeling what it might be. We will get it eventually!
Almost 15 months since this geocache was found? I get that it's difficult, but I'm keen for that challenge. With no plans for my Sunday and deciding I should get out for a drive to vaguely 'somewhere' this lone geocache was the only real guide I had. I didn't care how I got there, and didn't mind if I found it. But it's enough motivation.
I left Logan and headed through Tamborine, Beaudesert and across to Boonah before tracking south to here. As I rolled towards GZ the last few dozen metres, I knew I was in with rough luck. Across the road wasn't just busy, it had a freaking concert going on! It was busy and parking was relatively packed on the geocache side of the road. Aw man!
Needless to say I carried out only a cursory hunt between waves of muggles coming and going from cars and eventually gave up for fear of being watched or classed as a snoop. I did check some spots that I felt would have been clever, but a search nothing like approaching exhaustive.
Quite a decent drive, nearly sixty kilometres by the crow for a DNF and to walk away. But, sitting back in my car I realised I was on the road to Mount French. Might visit that next on my happy-go-lucky adventure. Until next time, lucasladd..

This Cache is still at its location. it is not any where near the taped of section. It is located across the road.
As a Hint, Think out of the Box, This is not the usual run of the mill cache hide, it's rating should be the biggest give away, remember D4 T1.5

I had scratched this one off my list as it obviously is hard and has been alluding the last few cachers who have looked. But we found ourselves with a little spare time and decided to give it a go. We only had 15 mins and we looked every one of those minutes but were unable to come up with the required goods. Thanks anyway. We were looking opposite the taped off area - our GZ was across the road. Not sure if we were in the right spot or if the previous cacher was? Thanks anyway.
We knew this was going to be a difficult one, and we spent a while looking, taking in all the hints from previous logs. Even then we did not manage to find it. Will have another go next time we’re here.
It's a DNF from us today.
This remains our nemesis cache.
We thought it was a good day for a search as the hotel was without patrons, leaving the way clear for a thorough search.
No such luck!
We'll try again another day.

Just finished a hike nearby and stopped off here at the pub for some refreshing drinks! Great hide! FP from me! Tftc
2nd attempt and so close to giving up a 2nd time... BUT SUCCESS. Great hide, thanks.
A group of us were having a well earned steak and beverages after a 2 night adventure climbing mt Barney. Some previous finders mentioned there was a cache over there and went to see if it was still there. From a distance their actions gave me a clue on what I would be looking for. They returned to say they couldn’t see it. Another finder (female-so not just a boy look) went as well and found it. I went over with some others and found it quickly as I have found something similar in the past. The parts of the cache have become separated. TFTC
A quick find when you put trust in your GPS. A very sneaky and clever hide worthy of another favourite. No muggles before opening time. Thanks lucaladd
We saw the difficulty of this one and knew that we would have to commit some time to finding this sucker and we were up for it. With the pub being across the road we parked the geo-beast and the geo-jet to block all the drinkers at the pub from watching us. Not that we think they cared they were too busy talking about their motor bikes we are sure, this is a popular place for the bikies to come for a ride to.
We began our search and were coming up with nothing but sunburn. A PAF was sent out to someone that had found this cache three years previous, not sure if that’ll help us but let’s give it a try. We think that we know what we are looking for now but where could it be, we notice it has moved a couple of times over the years and is it the still the same thing as it was originally? This just adds to the intensity, we aren’t leaving without it as we are confident it is here.
Bending everything back, moving everything, crawling on the ground, stretching this way and that we start wishing that we were over in the pub having a drink but we pushed forth and finally the cache was found. Nice hide, leaving a FP, clever hide.

Almost forgot to log this. Popped in after our adventures for the day. I think the heat and whatnot was getting to me, not helped by the loud singer, who I thought was good, but just loud! Caro made a very nice quick grab on this on while I had just wandered to another spot and started looking blindly! I bet so many have before too! Head for home straight after lunch, such a long drive away.
It seems I can find a sneaky cache really quickly if I'm near an establishment promising a good feed and cold drink! Nice to see our morning water-sport-caching team member's names in the log just before I added ours. They had gone ahead while we went finding other caches. Thanks for the cache, lucasladd.
This was the last of my finds for the day. Well I just got out of my limousine when Caro found it. Mmm this find gives me an idea and I know just the spot that's close by.
After signing the log, we all went for a well deserved lunch and lemonade. Bargain there was a noisey band solo that we could try and talk over. Thanks for another interesting hide lucasladd.

Stopped to grab this on the way to the pub for lunch and a refreshing beer. Was found very, very quickly - but not by me. I was intently looking elsewhere. TFTC!
After a DNF last year it needed a group of buddies to enmasse attack this one ! Great find by Jess and Caro finally putting s smilie on my

Sunday. As we were in the area (4ando and myself), we saw this cache and thought the D/T looked very interesting! At first our arrow was pointing us to what we thought was a likely looking cache location. In the end, after reading the logs stating that we should trust our GPS, we eventually found the cache! So we did and (I think we must have moved and touched it several times!!) we did find the cache! Yay. This cache reminds me of a similar cache we found in a suburb of Brisbane Love this idea and most suitable for its location.
This was the 5th of 5 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***lucasladd***, for showing us this place.

Called twice to day could not find it must de well hidden ..will try again another day. .
While spending some time in Boonah, I wandered around and found some caches. This was one of them. Lucky my wife was with me as she was the one who actually found it. tftc.
Been trying for this for sometime all is good with this one a very tricky one, had to put my thinking cap on for it. Giving it a heart
Our second visit back to this cache the last in 2016, today our luck ws in. We visit Boonah when we are in the area to see our lady who pokes us with needles and beats us up, all with our permission. We headed off from our daughters early as we knew that this cache was tricky and wanted to give ourselves plenty of time.
We assumed that our GPS was not playing nice and looked in the obvious place with no luck, then we read the logs and one in particular stood our and as we have recently been in Cairns we changed our perspective about what we were looking for and also made certain we were looking around the listed GZ. GZ is truley the right place to be looking. As soon as we did this we spotted the cache container, it helped that the whole cache was just sitting on the ground out in the open.
We placed the cache out of sight and we will email the owner and let them know where we put it.

Very happy to get this sneaky little one after lunch at the nearby pub following an overnight hike up and down Roberts and Superbus... The meal was well earned! TFTC
Dropped in and checked this cache, the lid was missing off the container, so I have replaced it with a new one. Cache is up and going with a clean log book
On our way back to Brisbane from Mount Maroon and we stopped at the Dugandan pub for a bite to eat. Remembering that this one had been described as being a tricky one I suggested we have a look before grabbing something to eat, then we had the option of regathering and searching the logs etc for some clues while refueling. As expected we failed to turn anything up prior to lunch, so over a steak sandwich (very nice!) we reviewed the logs and came up with some new ideas and a renewed sense of purpose... which abruptly vanished when we re-approached GZ. We searched for another 20 mins, and even resorted to PAF which confirmed our theories and search zone, and gave us a specific hint congruent with what we'd already figured out, but still nothing. Would be great if the CO could visit to confirm if it is still there. Thanks anyway for the hunt.
Gah! You defeat us!! Our first DNF of the day, but I’m blaming the heat . Lunch crowds were also starting to gather at the pub, so time to push on. Well played, lucasladd
Long search here but no luck for us today. Grrr our 2nd DNF today. Felt very conspicuous as if people in the pub were watching and we were thinking of checking on our return from Mt French but there were 3 tables occupied at the pub for lunch so a 2nd search was a no go.
After a day out paddling around Somerset Dam, I was looking forward to nothing more than putting the feet up and vegging out for the evening in front of the TV. However the siren call of a long unloved cache out Boonah way, which Swellerfungus had noticed had been replaced, was enough to get the Bromance together for a late night caching mission. With the thrill of a FTF under our belt on a cache found on the way out here, we set about the search in high spirits. With head lamps ablaze we swept back over the area, checking numerous locations indicated by a bouncing phone (no time was available to load up the GPS beforehand). Criss crossing the area, my phone again zeroed in on a spot and upon inspecting a feature, the tricky hide was indeed finally located, much to the relief of all. Please to put this one to bed, which is exactly where I was happy to be heading after a big day of caching. TFTC
Swellerfungus had noted this little container of previous DNF pain, was back on line again. With 25 months of unloved on offer and leave passes all round, we took an evening road trip to find this. After an FTF diversion on the way, we eventually made it here a little after closing time next nearby.
A quick look at the listed coordinates and we were soon expanding our search. However, it turns out the coordinates are pretty accurate. After 10 minutes, Seff made the call "Found it", and we all took a look at the sneaky so and so. Whilst being reminded of a similar cache in the leafy western suburbs of brisbane, we wondered about the longevity of this one.
Many thanks, lucasladd. Glad to have this one behind me. Left a couple of trackables.... (only joking).

This was a nemesis cache for a while. We would regularly end up across the park for a sweet libation after a nasty hike, and look out across the park wondering if it was there. We never found it, however tonight managed to turn that around. I think this one might be tough during the day, so arriving at night worked well for us. Thanks for replacing this one so it can be found again.
