New fence/gate, so cache is most likely gone.

12-Sep-23
I happened to be in the Valley today and this wasn’t far away. Looks like a new fence is here so I’d say that the cache is definitely missing.

10-Jul-23
genyo I didn’t find your cache Watching Trains on 10/7/2023, 1:29 pm. Nope searched a couple of gates but nothing found.

27-May-23
Didn’t find it right away but doubled down on our efforts as the trains screeched by. Thanks for the hide.

Far out! That was tricky. So bloody tiny. The co-ordinates were off slightly but TFTF.

The morning of a swim meet. I am early to be able to find a park and do a warmup. And early enough to look for the nearby geocache! Coordinates are significantly out. But found it

This cache has been a nemesis . i have been here twice by myself and then i took my husband one weekend and we thought we looked all over and it is only just over 1km from work so that little green dot has been just bugging me. So today i reached out for some help and thanks to the hint i rode my bike here after work to try my luck again. It still took awhile to spot this tricky cache but when i did i was so happy to find it. I took a photo to show my husband who could not believe it . This was a fun cache to find and i did see a lot of trains in the process. Thanks for all the fun

03-Jan-22
I attempted this without success yesterday in between slight showers & alternating humidity. I needed to PAF as this was obviously very very tricky. Returning today to correct my location was still a time consuming exercise to discover the whereabouts of the little blighter. Another gentle nudge was needed to push me slightly away from my area of focus. Got there in the end. Signed & returned & also a fav from me TFTC

Decided to grab a few caches during the holidays in Brisbane. I noted the 3.5 difficulty on this one and thought it might be worth a try, even though I’m still somewhat new to this. Had a try initially but got called away. Not many muggles down the lane way today, but struggled with the clue, as there are 3 of these to chose from. With a quick clue from TeamDFL I went back a short time after. Still took me a good 10 minutes as there is a fair bit of debris, grass, rock, etc. and finally found it. Looks like the log might be getting full- up to no. 35. Great location for train lovers.

14-Nov-21
Heading to Roma Street Parklands this morning for an event. Taking the very scenic route there on the geocycle. No worries getting to this one on the bike. With track closures for maintenance today not trains went by while I was at GZ.

The GPSr wanted me a long way from where I found this little hide. The hint helped send me in the right direction, but still left options. No luck at the first I moved further away and found the tiny beast.

09-Aug-21
After a nearby appointment, my daughter Pinkypie05 and myself decided to do this cache. Once I figured out the right place for the hint it was an easy find. The grass having been sprayed made it a lot easier to spot. TFTC!

Can’t find my Second time

13-Apr-21
Firstly this took awhile to find... I checked all the regular spots and obviously came away empty handed... then I went over to the far side of the road, but it felt wrong... then back to the original spot, keeping the last finders log in mind I spotted the cache... not entirely sure what the muggle on the wrong side of the tracks thought I was doing, but if he bothers to come over here, and then find this tiny cache... good luck to him... tftc...

11-Mar-21
Came back for attempt number two after a PAF and found all the surrounding grass had been sprayed. This helped immensely as I spotted it immediately in the place I had been looking around for ages last time. TFTC!

25-Jan-21
Close enough is good enough? Read through the comments of previous cachers. Read the hint Then analyse that info. Gave myself 15 minutes to find it.
Pleased to say that I got it in 2.

28-Dec-20
I picked today to have my second search for this cache as it was a public holiday and I knew that there would be no one around and plenty of parking.

I searched for 15 minutes and then returned to the car to reread previous logs and refresh my thinking before I headed back for another sweep. looked further afield and it still took me another 5 minutes before I spotted the sneaky hide.

Rolling into town on the bike to check out a few of the early AL's which I have not yet attempted. On the way through the Valley i notice this nemesis cache was still haunting me. OK maybe third time lucky or is that fourth. Well GZ is still at the same spot, well nothing there, nothing at the other similar feature, back to the first spot, back to the second back and forth I go.

Are now that is better. Focus things are not always what and where you thinkl they should / would be. Cool

Time for ? - an enjoyable therapeutic experience.

I work 10 minutes away and figured I'd finally come and try find this cache today - unfortunately after looking for about 20 minutes it was nowhere to be found. I felt like I looked everywhere I could think of but perhaps it's just too sneaky!

Thanks anyway - will be back for sure and give it another go.

Thank you for placing this geocache genyo

30-Jan-20
Had a morning out around the inner suburbs, tracking down some of the myriad new labcaches that have popped up.

This one proved elusive, and there were a couple of spots that matched the hint. A PAF helped me narrow it down, and voila there it was, tiny but visible in plain sight. All good here.

**Watching Trains** signed at 09:38 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie and bringing us here **genyo**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

Well. This cache took some spotting! I had no time for any train spotting, and after rechecking the same spots I'd checked the last two times I came, I re-read my notes. What a sneaky cache! Actually in plain sight! I just hadn't been looking closely enough. It was pretty hot and I could hear thunder coming from the storm clouds from the south... but I digress. The cache is very much there and I got to sign our name in a brand new log right up the top! No one was around either which was toot-sweet. I think I dropped a FP after getting up from signing the log.

A nice walk down King St on a quiet Sunday on the way to this cache. Unfortunately I couldn't find it, though I'm sure passengers on the passing train were entertained by me looking! It will have to wait for another time.

I thought that I would look for this Cache while I was waiting for the bridal party to come out of their wedding venue but it was not to be.
There is temporary fencing up at the GZ which leads me to believe the Cache is gone.

No luck for me here today. I used the hint, and widened the search, but to no avail. Thanks anyway, genyo.

08-Dec-18
3rd DNF in a row out of 12 caches. Losing my mojo today so that's a wrap for me.

Until next time...

Kids loved the trains though! Cool little spot!

29-Nov-18
Too hard for us today.

28-Sep-18
That took me way longer than it should have! Not going to mention how many trains went past (actually I stopped counting). Instead I was focusing on how long it could possibly take the muggle parked across the street to unload his 4WD. He kept coming back and I was busy trying to think of reasons why I was standing around in a random dead-end street. The best I came up with was, “Just killing time and stretching my legs before an appointment”... but if he continued conversation to ask where my appointment was, I would have had no answer! TFTC

02-Sep-18
I needed a cache today for the stats hound traditional challenge. It feels very exposed here with trains going past all the time. Not a quick easy find, but I made use of the logs of others to give me a better idea. TFTC

The last cache for the night for HuntHiHuntLo and I. And for me my 33rd cache in the day (yes this is a new record for me). We decided to head to a cache or two we wouldn't normally go to either in the day time, and certainly for me, not on my own at night.
For our last cache we decided to try our luck with some spotting of trains at 11pm in an alley in the valley. Coz that's what you do.
Pulling the car up we headed over paying particular note of the clue, and began our search. Soon HuntHiHuntLo had extracted what we were after and we sat down to sign the log as another train went past, then looked up the local Light Space business to see what it was about as it looked so interesting.
Thanks for the cache genyo.

02-May-18
Train spotting at night! Took a few minutes to find this one by feel. TFTC

10-Apr-18
I searched around while about five trains went past in as many minutes but there were so many muggles coming in and out of this dead end street that I decided to PAF. After that it was a quick find and I left before any more muggles could interrupt me.

22-Mar-18
some very cool street art

11-Jan-18
It has to be said that experience definitely helps in the world of Geocaching. This little critter had defeated us before, in our earlier days of caching, but within 5mins of revisiting our “nemesis”, He-Squirrel had the CIH at 11m from GZ. Tucked back where we found it. Super stoked for the conversion - toot toot! .

31-Dec-17
Up early to get my souvenir for the end of year. I had looked for this before when I was attending a wedding up the road but had no luck.
Maybe because this time it wasn’t dark or maybe with more experience I found it in the second place I looked.
Thanks for the sneaky hide.

17-Dec-17
I kind of feel like this find was a fluke. It kind of just fell out when I was feeling around the area. I'm not even sure if where I put it is where it came from but it was the only place I could hide it really. This truly is a nanocache. And the coordinates are definitely off so use the hint!

04-Nov-17
So many trains..... tftc

26-Sep-17
Found with an accurate gps and hint. No problems with this cache as suggested. Where it should be with plent of signing space. Cheers genyo!

25-Sep-17
We have been staying close by all weekend and with some still sleeping , Ratdog and when for an early morning stroll to find this cache.
We didn't need to watch the trains as we could see them from our balcony.
We checked out the first place nothing but not 0 yet. looked at another, still nothing. further away. Ok. I have a quick look a bit further on but still nothing.mmmm GZ was nothing too, not even matching the hint. so we returned to first option.
Ratdog caught site of the cache as I was waving my foot through the weeds. nice. signed the log, and returned to where it wanted to go but we don't this this is the right place. might need checking.

25-Sep-17
this one needs Maintenance , we found in in a gutter in the weeds not attached to any thing. placed back but not where we felt it should be as it didn't want to go there. needs owner to come have a look

Don’t you just love those caches that say that they are only a few hundred meters away, only to find out that this is not the fact! Well, this is what happened for me today.

Sitting at work this morning this cache was only 262 meters away and after a quick read of the cache, it sounded perfect for a lunch time get-a-way.

I really should have checked the map prior to setting my goals on this cache. Though, you know how it is, once you’ve selected a cache, you’ve got to see it through!

The reason I say the above is due to the fact that if I were a crow, then yes, this cache would be 262 meters away. Though unfortunately being a mere wingless human, the cache was actually 850 meters away. I should have checked this first, not thinking nor taking into consideration that there is, in fact, a major railway and road separating myself from the cache.

After a quick check of Google whilst en route, I was informed that the 850 meters would take me 11 mins. That’s 22 minutes return, allowing 8 minutes to find the cache… CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

So off I went with a mission and a purpose… And sure enough, every crossing I got a red light… “Darn it, this is eating into my time”, I kept thinking whilst tapping my foot to the *BEEP* as the crossing lights sounded.

After a few left turns and a few street crosses, a good looking ground zero was starting to come into sight. Not planning on caching today, I did not have my GPSr with me and was having to use my phone GC App, which I swear was made by the Devil himself, as it never works for me… Today being no different, I was not able to get a strong ground zero and where the Devil’s App was telling me, just didn’t feel right.

So with only 6 mins left, a helping hand from the hint was in order… *DING*, I now know where I should look, well I thought. I looked and looked but came up empty. ‘Darn it’, I only had two minutes to go before having to call it quits. Then just as I stood back, it was like the sky opened up and a beam of light shined right on where I SHOULD have been looking.

I now had one minute left. With the GeoGods smiling down on me, the cache was in the first place that I placed my hand… YAY!!!

So with that, the date was quickly added alongside my abbreviated signature of ‘MD’. Everything was carefully placed back home.

With a sense of achievement, and being 2 minutes behind, I was not able to relax and take in the trains! Except I hightailed it back to work and arriving with one minute to spare, BOOYAH!!!

Thanks for the lunch adventure genyo. All is in order here!

27-May-17
I took a leisurely bike ride from Nundah along the bike path through Wooloowin and Lutwyche past RBH before swinging east through the Valley and then north along the Riverbank at Newstead to complete a circuit.

Along the way I stopped to collect this cache, attracted initially by the difficulty rating. No problems here - a bit of touchie feelie in a likely spot produced the nasty nano. Thankfully nice and quiet here today, although two trains whizzed past whilst I was at GZ. Thanks genyo.

Trick little cache, had to wait until a couple of semi clad young people on bikes left the area. In the meantime I PAF to see if my suspicions were right as there was 3 DNF and it hadn't been found since January. Muggles gone and grabbed cache or rather it jumped into my hand, paperwork completed and cache replaced as found. TFTC

25-Apr-17
I headed out to look for this one tonight however after the last few DNF logs i wasnt hopeful, especially as I didnt have a torch. After arriving at GZ and there not being much ambient light I was even less hopeful.

After looking in two other places I was pleasantly surprised to place my hand on the cache, only 30secs searching and a nano found in the dark. I was quite pleased - TFTC Big Grin

On my way to a job I took a detour and had a look here. No success, although only a 10 minute look with the GPS jumping all over the place. I'll try again next time in Brisbane.
