Road trip with barb2e into the Binalong area. I hope the weather holds up. It's a bit chilly and the sun is hiding behind clouds. Was blinded by the sun, but just managed to spot it. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

After last weekend at home getting over a cold, I decided to head out to Binalong to collect a bunch of chocolate-flavoured caches and a few others. To get to this one, I had to navigate some weekend roadworks, but was assisted by some very helpful roadwork folk! Quite interesting reading about young Johnny - I wonder how he would be viewed in today's media - the hero or the villain. A quick find at gz. TFTC Darzee Di

Found with Turtle and DeadThief while getting started on a new multi in the area. A nice tranquil and historical spot. Quick find by DeadThief in this case but we could all relish in the spoils. This Johnny bloke seems like he must have been quite the character. TFTC

In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

Day 2 camped at the YSL Yass
So many new caches since we were here last, so headed out today towards Binalong doing a round circuit back to Yass. This did not happen as the road to Bookham was closed to traffic.
A variety of cache types found,
This is a location we would not have visited if there was not a cache here. FP given
Thanks for placing your cache.

29-Aug-22
A gloomy morning so I decided to grab a buddy and we explored the roads near Binalong today. Some interesting locations and history, and a variety of cache containers. This cache was a straightforward find in the obvious spot, and is in good condition. Signed with initials only. Fascinating history here!

Thanks, Darzee Di!!

28-Aug-22
Got it! Remember coming here many times years ago with no luck. Good to finally grab it!

22-Aug-22
Off for a couple of days caching with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
Stayed the night in Jugiong and continued on with some challenges in the area.
After lunch we traveled to Cootamundra, doing some AdLabs and a few off caches on the way.
Another lovely sunny day today but we could see where there had been heaps of rain in the area.
This meant that a lot of the caches were full of water and could do with some TLC.

BB had just completed the Sargent Parry cache a this morning - very topical!
An interesting spot to bury him.
Thanks for the history.
Thanks, Robmc.

22-Aug-22
#19610. Day 2 of a short trip into NSW with Robmc and the geo doggies. We started in Jugiong with a few finds before continuing on with more Challenge caches and a few others found along the way.

Making our way to Cootamiundra for the niight but came to Binalong to do the AdLab and discovered 3 cemetery caches. Funnily enough my first cache today was at Jugiong at the Memorial for Sgt Parry. Seems this fellow started his life of crime very early on and he seems to have been fearless. Strange that they buried him in the Police Paddocks. Must have wanted to keep an eye on him.

Thanks Darzee Di

23-Jul-22
Wow! Very cool find!!!

06-Jul-22
Found on the way home from our Wagga Wagga trip. Whilst doing the AL this was a quick and easy find. Great location for a cache, a really interesting historical site. TFTC Darzee Di!

08-Jun-22
I completely missed this one even though I looked there, and it was not until Mrs SKI arrived that it was spotted, and she did so straight away. An interesting story and piece of history.

At last there was a partial change in the weather today. Still very cold, but no rain and the wind has dropped off so we took the opportunity to do a loop from Harden down through Bookham and Jugiong and do some caching.
There were a variety of hides and differing terrains, some easy and some beyond our TOTTs capabilities. At least one we had to walk away from because it was too wet and cold for wading.
A nice lunch at Jugiong rounded out a well spent day.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Darzee Di.

Wouldn't have known this was here without a cache.. or two. Don't know how Johnny Gilbert would have felt about this secret little location his grave's a part of but we were really impressed.. even a seat to precision roll that tinsy micro log. Razz TFTC Darzee Di.

Love the LKA series. We have some very interesting characters and stories in our history. Quick find but didn’t have a pen and my stamp is too big for these caches.

Headed away for a bit of a post lockdown trip to central west NSW. My main goal for the trip was to find GC2F6F (2001 cache), but as always I couldn't drive past as if it wasn't there. This was one of the many caches I found on my road trip.

If only the dead could talk, I'd sit and have a drink with this guy
Thanks to the CO's for hiding your cache and contributing in a small way to the fun I had.

Staying at Yass for a few days after being able to travel after lockdown. We completed the AL and went for this one as well. Unfortunately the log was chockers so we had a small replacement. A new log roll is needed.
Note to CO: We have the original log and can send it on if required?

29-May-21
Number 10 of 20 finds today plus 5 AL's with no DNF's on a Canberra-Bowning-Binalong-Galong-Boorowa trip. A good day out!
I should have checked out here while completing this part of the Binalong AL. So had to return on my way out of town on route to Galong. The non-geo wife wandered up to the grave on this visit while I made the find. Thanks Darzee Di. An interesting piece of our bushranger history.

25-Apr-21
Lovely day to be out and about with friends

25-Apr-21
With Tankengine, Joolay and dty73 we had an early start to the day to attend an event in Temora. Gave us plenty of time to stop for a few caches on the way and give the 'different' series an attempt. Certainly an interesting and fun little track, and can see why not doing this after rain was recommended. The car was small but mighty and tackled it with slow and steady ease.

The event was well run and provided plenty to do while in the area, a great lunch provided and many thanks to Aykayem for the use of the Kayak for the group to get a few Island caches, much appreciated.

A lovely Autumn day and in good company it was an enjoyable day with a lot of variety along the way. Thanks for the cache Darzee Di.

Cool town and stopped in here for the AL so got this too. Pretty spot.

23-Apr-21
We are winding our way back from the Dayboro mega we had been concentrating more on lab caches earth caches and Virtual's as there are still a lot of muggles around.
After picking up the Crookwell labs yesterday we spent the night there and are now picking up what pops up on the screen as we make our way to Wagga.

There was a way point of a lab near here and of course we weren't going to not look for this one.
We hadn't heard a lot about the baby faced bush ranger so this cache was a real eye opener. Between this cache and the lab we obtained heaps of information that is hopefully stored away.
It's a great area for a cache and we really enjoyed the visit. The only let down was the fact that it was a dreaded nano.

Many thanks Danzee Di for the history and the hide.

This was a pet cool spot. I came here for the much larger GCA cache just down the path. I thought this should have a GC cache also and sure enough there it was.

I can't help but wonder if these bushrangers were just like modern day criminals that we overglorify because of the little bit of rebel in us and our lack of knowing what they really were like.

Thanks for the bistory@

Nice to find a cache at the very spot you have called in to visit...TFTC

03-Apr-21
Found on a trip around central New South Wales with e.gregory1. Our original plans were to travel through Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba to attend the Dayboro event in Queensland and return via Port Macquarie and central NSW, but a series of events that included road closures due to flooding in southern inland Queensland, a covid outbreak in Brisbane and widespread storm damage and road closures along the north coast of NSW resulted in multiple changes of plans during the trip. As it eventuated our travels took us to central New South Wales, on a route from Broken Hill to Cobar, Nyngan, and Gunnedah from where we meandered southwards through some great scenery and historic towns that included Dunedoo, Wellington, Cowra and Yass. We then headed in a roughly westerly direction through to Temora, Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin and Swan Hill before making a final dash for home. All up we found a good mix of Traditionals, Puzzle Caches, Multicaches, Adventure Labs, Wherigos, Earthcaches, Letterbox Hybrids and Virtual Caches on a very entertaining and enjoyable trip. Thanks for the cache Darzee Di!

03-Apr-21
Found on a trip around inland NSW with FeatherWaite.

Our original intention was to attend the Mega event at Dayboro in Queensland, travelling up via Broken Hill, Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba, then home via the NSW coast to Port Macquarie then on to Adelaide via central NSW. However, the Covid outbreak in Brisbane forced us to reconsider, particularly given that the Mega and associated events were within the area of concern and we may have had difficulty re-entering NSW to get home and then would have had to quarantine back in SA for 14 days.

The floods in the north and east of NSW also hampered our travel plans. But we were able to develop a new plan that took us on a very pleasant tour around country NSW, picking up some interesting caches along the way.

Thanks Darzee Di for the cache.

We payed John Gilbert a visit and got to learn about his history, we then picked up and signed the cache, thank you!

Out with mrwhiskers76 today. We’re heading to the grandparents in Harden for Easter. We’ve gotten a few caches today so far and stopped at the Queen Cafe, just a km or two from here. I’ve driven past this, what feels like a hundred times and never knew this was here. Very interesting story on the signs. Thank you! Happy Easter!

Have to say bushranger history is one of our fav things so thanks for bringing us to this site. What a rascal! He didnt take many days off from being a naughty boy. Finalf29 and I decided to spend a few days getting off the main highway and grabbing a few of these backroad caches. Having a wonderful time with my bestest buddy.

All caches now downloaded offline!

Finalf29 is a bushranger buff... we have been here before, when we it was well looked after, but it is now need in a lot of TLC. Finalf29 had meet the author Edgar Penzig and found him a very interesting man. Thanks for the history.

Found Smile -- 10:45 am -- Thanks for the hunt and bringing us to this location *Darzee Di*.

**Cache Condition:** Cache good.

**The Cache**
A fav for this, I loved being able to visit the grave of a bushranger, and a great little location it is too. Log signed in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found.

**The Day**
OCW *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet*. Leaving *Binalong* for the backwaters of *Wyangala* today. Cruised down to Binalong to undertake some cache maintenance between here and Wyangala, plus a short few days camping. Want to stay longer but we have a three day Scout hike commitment.

***Please don't be hasty - zip and wrap the bags - money, time and effort that has gone into them.***

Floating around while the others use their amazing skills to find the cache, well, not much help was needed, *ThrosbyOC* had things well under control. Now that I had finished the Threatened Species Trail I now knew what I needed to get my target for the day (or so I thought). First goal was 100 and if I could 120 was the next (for Project-GC award). I had accommodation booked in Yass but in the end I went to Binalong and Galong to get a good start before heading into town just on dark.

I have driven past this sign many times heading from Sydney to West Wyalong for banding trips but have never stopped. Glad I had the excuse today - have read a biography of Ben Hall and Johnny Gilbert did sound like a bit of a loose cannon. Cache was quickly found and signed. Buried in the horse paddocks - bet they didn't show his body much respect.

Heading off to Canberra for the weekend so this will give me the chance to finish of the Wonders of the World Series.

Took the back tracks instead of the highways, much more scenic.

A nice easy find, and an interesting place to visit. lots of information about him and what went down here. Great to have a Bushranger, I have plenty of convicts but no Brangers.

found it, signed it, replace it then onto the next.

Thanks Darzee Di for hiding this Cache. LilDonna_ [8)]
