Great little spot. Love the cache too.

So BackPaqer calls me and wants to go and get over a 100 caches today... Challenge accepted..So meet at Westgate Park in Melbourne at 8:30am but can't get parked due to a go-karting event, so head down the road and find a parking space which leads me to the first cache of the day. Then I pile into BackPaqers car and we head to Point Henry South of Geelong. A few caches picked up here and an ad lab and then back into North Geelong for a few more ad labs. Then into the Botanic gardens for a walk around and you guessed it more ad labs. Then we took scooters and rode along the foreshore getting all the ad labs on route.was great to bump into two seperate Geocachers, who both came over to say Hi.Then it was back to the car and we parked in the centre of Geelong while we picked up a few virtuals and more ad labs.. then the journey home began stopping on route for a multiple and some more traditionals.. final count is 115 caches... pretty good for 6 hours...I left a trackable in this oneThanks for the cache and the hidelog book has been signed and returnedFind #2858

After having spent some time this afternoon finding a few caches hidden around the nearby area, I decided I would find one more before heading home. As this cache is near the motorway which I would be using to head back towards Melbourne, I figured it would be a good final find. I drove my vehicle a short distance along the nearby dirt road, parking up just before the trees. I then made the short walk to GZ to try and find this cache. After a small amount of bush-bashing, I found myself in a small clearing in the trees, right at GZ according to my GPS. After a relatively short search, I then spotted an interesting little creation. Sure enough, it was the cache. I quickly extracted the container and signed the logbook. The log has certainly seen better days. It was starting to disintegrate and is beginning to fill up. I signed my name in the log (possibly as PagC) before placing it all back together. TFTC

First find of the day. No planes around at the moment.Thanking you for the Traditional Cache that you placed Air Head Smile

Handy craftsmanship. Nice hide. Thank!

Attempted this one a few weeks ago but the bison was missing. Messaged CO, no reply(probably busy Geocaching ), thought wed try again. Still no bison in place so went searching around the surrounds for a few minutes and finally found it among some leaf litter. Log signed and back where it should be. 2x TBs popped by for a visit: Fingerzeig & Minty fresh 50 caches. TFTC!

Nice and easy pick up, if only I didnt lose my eyes. Jorgo #3 stopped off to watch a 747 leave and in the way home I thought Id grab this one. Nice and easy find. Very nice stop

09-Feb-24
That is a very neat cache, and entirely in keeping the COs creativity elsewhere. Neat little hide, not too hard, but you do have to look for it. I like this quiet track along the air field.

Deja vu on our way home from today's Rippleside CITO.

And some fond memories of my best first-to-find hunt around Tullamarine with Alsume and an infamous banana.

One of those first logged nine years and, wow, pushing 5K caches ago (GC4XVG1 Plane Spotters #3 ️"The Gods Must be Crazy"), is now in my care, much to my constant amusement.

Thanks, Air Head ️. For the cache and the chance to revisit past exploits.

Heading away for the weekend to camp in the Brisbane ranges and took the Avalon airport turn off. There was a lonely trad here that I had overlooked when gathering some other caches along this track, so I took a quick diversion to return here again and claim the smiley.

A very appropriate cache here at GZ.

Thanks Darth Briji for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

On our way back from a nearby multi we looked and saw this one near by! Very clever cache indeed, but I was sad to see parts of it strung about. When we grabbed it we noticed the lid was missing. Signed it, had a search and it didn't take us long to locate it (it was at our feet) to prevent the log getting wet.

09-Dec-21
Back down to this neck of the woods today and picked up this little freebie on the way to my actual target. The cap to the bison has gone missing which will be a problem in the long term given the propensity for the log to fall out to the ground. Other than that, nicely done with a themed bit of camo.

Lovely spot.

31-Oct-21
My last cache before getting back onto the highway. A nice secluded spot that gives a great view of things overhead. A small plane went over while I was there. Great themed camo, thanks Air Head. A favourite from me.

19-Oct-21
Without this geocache I would never have even guessed that this road existed, let alone the amazing view of Avalon Airport. As I pulled up to the start of the road in, a plane was landing. Talk about perfect timing! I smiled as soon as I saw the cache, I think you know why. This is my favourite type of micro. With the moon almost full and the sun pretty much set, the cache was spotted easily before the torch was even turned on. TFTC

11-Sep-21
This was a good easy find to begin my day of geocaching in the area. Cute little cache but wondering if he would pass safety checks? No planes sadly....

15-Jul-21
Keeping the streak alive undecided to do a quick detour to retrieve this cache. Cache was easily spotted once arriving at GZ. The log carrier is very weather worn but doing it's job perfectly. Thank you Smile

19-Jun-21
We ventured into Melbourne. We purchased a Sprinter to turn into our home on wheels. Driving back to St Leonard's, we made a detour down the Point Wilson road to pick up a few caches around Avalon Airport. Maps took us on a rather interesting trip to this cache. It wanted to take us through locked gates, but eventually, we found this quiet place right near the freeway. As with most trips to a geocache, when there is a hard way in, we will find it and then take the easy way out. Love the cache container. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache Darth Briji.

Down this way today with Sean.75 and kenbryl doing a recon mission for a fishing spot. We took the opportunity to find some caches along the way. tftc

06-Jun-21
Sean.75, kenare and I headed down this way for the day. Our plan was to check out a few fishing spots and find some caches along the way. We had a great day. tftc

Out this way with kenare and kenbryl for the day after being stuck at home. Easy find, after finding a way in to Gz. Cigc. Tftc

09-May-21
After dropping my daughter for her 6am flight, drove around to a couple of the local hides. Driving down a deserted dirt road early in the morning in the dark alone is a little scared. Used my headlights to light up the GZ, walked through the bushes and eventually spotted the hide! Went to sign but in the freezing temperatures, my pen decided it was too cold to work! Photo if required.

Found on our way to visit mum in Torquay

A quick flyby with +Wife on our way home from Deans Marsh.

Not much activity at Avalon Airfield today.
Thanks for the cache.

Found with FUF009.
Today was a slow day and we planned to have a big walk and then see what happened after that. There were a few caches on the list.
Nice cache container. Tftc

Find # 9500

Day 1 of my extended long weekend.
Spending time with sharkiefan, we decided on a few caches for today, but as we drove around, the list of finds got bigger and before we knew it we were heading back to Werribee for Dinner. A little later than planned on that point too.

But it was the perfect day for caching, not hot n not raining, plenty of sights n fun had along the way.

I was a little iffy when seeing that this was a micro. But at GZ I was quite surprised. Love the themed cache. Adding a fave

Hi there Darth Briji.

We found your cache **"Plane Spotters #7 v2.0 ?? "Flyin' In""** today. (This makes our find count 24190).

We headed to the You Yangs today. it was great to venture out and enjoy the sunshine because the weather forecast for the next few days is rather bleak. We had a successful day & found 11 caches & DNF'd 0 .

Over the years, Geocaching has taken us on many adventures and to lots of wonderful destinations all over Australia. Without 'caching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wanderings. 'Caching has also introduced us to a diverse group of like-minded people, many of whom we now call friends.

**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing.

Thank you for placing this cache here & adding to our adventure. We awarded this cache a favourite point for the novelty value

Regards

Ian & Penny

Really having to travel far and wide for streaks now. So Crackers works at Melbourne Airport and thought why now add to streak stupidity by grabbing on at Avalon Airport after work.
Nice easy find and great theme with the camo.
Thanks Darth Briji for adding to the streak.

Always thought this would be on the side of the highway and then tonight I noticed the track off the side. Have slightly better weather this week compared to last week. my Muggle Fisher Hubby had a very rocky landing last week, it was so windy. I thought I would grab this quickly while waiting for his plane to land. I love the camo.TFTC

It was the last day of Tarbit being away on holiday overseas so I coupled the trip to the airport with a bit of caching to round out a busy few weeks. I had work appointments in Hawthorn and then in the city and once I was done there I headed out west. It was a very hot evening with temperatures still in the high 30s and I decided to target caches that were effectively drivebys. Having grabbed a few finds along the way I was now just killing time with a few finds in the vicinity of the airport. This was my final stop and I made hard work of it to some degree. FOudn the right spot to park but then I over-complicated the approach on foot. Once I corrected I spotted this oen qucikly enough. My fourteenth and final cache on a fun evening. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache Darth Briji.

I had to travel down to Geelong and on the way back I saw a plane come in to Avalon which reminded me of these caches around the airport. I stopped off the beaten track here and found the cache before heading to the others in the area and heading home.

Thanks for the cache!

Gevonden!

Back on the road again for another international trip. This time to Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and South Korea.
Like our previous trips we focussed on old caches, high favorites, rare cache types and pretty locations.
Most of the trip was together with Plaguerider, Zanna and FLtravelers, but some of it I did solo.
Logs were signed as DATT (Do All The Things) and if there were answers, we typically sent them as a group.

Thanks for maintaining the caches for us.

**Trip log:**
Found during Team DATT's (Do All The Things) annual international caching trip consisting of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5 and myself. Africa kicked it all off back in 2016, with a follow up European tour last year. I tried to pitch Asia but the pull of the Great Ocean Road and completing our 6th continent was too strong, and we landed on week long road trips through both Australia and New Zealand. Before meeting the team in Sydney though, I was able to schedule some layovers in Asia (Beijing, Bangkok and Singapore), so in the end I got a bit of everything. =)

**Australia Day 5 - Melbourne -> Port Campbell:**
The bulk of today was spent along the Great Ocean Road and WOW, what an experience! Definitely the highlight of the trip. We made it to the 12 Apostles before the receding light became a problem then decided to head back to Melba Gully (which we had skipped earlier in the day) in order to view the glowworms in all their glory. What an amazing nighttime trek that was! After our arrival into Port Campbell, we finished the day with pizza and beer at our hostel. =)

**Cache Log:**
Quick bonus cache along our route!

We’re on our annual international geocaching trip as Team DATT (Do All The Things) comprised of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5, and zanna. This year we chose to explore Australia and New Zealand. Zanna and I decided to do a two-day stopover in Beijing, a three-day stopover in Bangkok, and a 12-hour layover in Singapore on our way to meet up with the rest of the team in Sydney.

Once we got the Team back together, we made a “bee-line” to Lane Cove and various caches around Sydney. Then we headed down the coast on A1. After visiting Wasp Head, we headed up through Canberra and down M31 to Melbourne, after a webcam stop on Mount Buller.

We had a great time in Melbourne, which is my favorite city in Australia so far, then onto the Great Ocean Road, the highlight of Australia for this trip. After a couple days (not nearly enough) we left the ocean road and headed up A6 towards Victor Harbor (webcam) and Adelaide (webcams) for our flight to Auckland. Seems we found every webcam in Australia.

We targeted old caches, highly favorited caches, earthcaches, virtuals, and of course webcam caches, and anything else that got our interest along the way. Logs were signed DATT. Answers, where required, were sent by one of the team members. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of our trip with this cache. Great hide.

Travelling to Geelong today, brought me to a stop around here, And as there is a hide nearby, just had to make the find, glad I am not travelling in that plane, it has seen better days, but still flying with a suspicious looking item under its belly, put my sign in and replaced as found, Thanks for the hide Air Head,

Last stop on the way down to Ocean Grove for a few days break in the cool weather after finding another cache nearby. After walking down towards GZ I circled around a couple of times somehow without noticing the hide. On my third trip round it almost poked me in the eye. Not sure how I missed it in the first place. Thanks for the cache.

9:07, 24 June 2017, #266, after dropping Alan off at the airport, I checked the local area and wanted to see how my new samsung S8 performed while caching seeing I have only had it for 2 days, this was the 2nd cache I found and this was proving that my new phone was working great.

It wasn't long and I had this little cache in my hands as a plane flew over my head.. probably Alan flying off to Tassie.

The log was quite full and damp, it needs a new log sheet and I didnt have any TOTT with me other than a pen in my vehicle. I'll be back to pick up Alan on Monday if it hasn't had any attention by then, ill check it and bring a replacement log sheet with me just incase.

TFTC. Great spot for viewing planes at the airshow I bet.
