I smiled at the crocodile and he smiled back so I decided he could be my travel companion for a while. After a tasty pie and sauce for breakfast I headed to a known location to pick up some rubbish, enjoyed a colourful sunrise and poked a bear . It was then that I decided to make the most of this early start.I headed home, hopped on my bike , rode a couple of trains and followed a trail of caches into the vines .A most enjoyable day/night down south finding treasures.TFTC LBKeep smiling
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We're staying in in the area for a few days, hunting down some nearby caches in this lovely part of SA. We walked the track enjoying all around us. This is the best of the OTD series that we have completed. Thank you. LNCU
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Aldinga for a few days and ranging from there to grab some finds. Scored a beautiful day after a couple of chilly ones. Thanks for the hide LNCU
Found with NiciDanielle, Zoe the Geodog & Elijah the Geobub. Made us work a little for this one. Glad to get a higher T rating under the belt after a run of almost infinite T1.5/2's. Had higher T ratings but 3.5 seems to be a bit of a black hole. Quickly found once up the mini cliff. Dropped at TB TFTC
Zip tie broken.Found on a day out caching with cachehunter, our mini cacher (6 m.o) and Zoe the geo dog.Beautiful day for a cache. Tftc
This is not a "Needs Maintenance" issue!
"No pencil"
Some, not all, may have pencils in the OTD series plus it's not a requirement to supply a scribing tool.

Perfectly sunny day for a pedal Prob did 16 or so kliks from McLaren Vale to Old Noarlunga return - map showed 13km as the crow flies. Mixed results on the caching but picked up the pace closer to the coast. A swag of DNFs near my start point on the Shiraz Trail Then back to the Shingleback winery a bit later for tasting after I stowed the bike on the car.
Impressed with the good coords. Liked the containers for ride-by caching. A couple of hides with a Terrain rating of mountain goat but I was wearing runners. One butt slide to get back down to the track. A few waves and strange looks from others taking advantage of the balmy weather
Got this cache on the ride back and it was a struggle up the embankment and a slippery dip down
Saving the other half of this trail for another day
TFTC COs Couldn’t have asked for a better excursion today.

I had skipped this one on past forays but scampered up the side and soon in hand. Great walk on a sunny afternoon. TFTC #532

Pencil missing for this one.

It was a beautiful day for a walk along the Shiraz Trail in the company of The 4 Hawks and Moose 3. With the sun shining and a nice cool breeze we collected all the caches in this series between South Rd and Victor Harbour Rd. Thanks for taking the trouble to put out these caches.
Camping at Mt Compass for Easter today Mr Felix decided to cycle from Willunga to Old Noarlunga picking off caches as he went. Great day out but boy was the cycle trail busy and by the time he finished it was 33degrees and a bit warm. [B)]

NATIONAL MICROWAVE OVEN DAY
On December 6th, National Microwave Oven Day honors one appliance that changed the way we use the kitchen.
Quite by accident, self-taught American engineer Percy Spencer discovered a way to heat food safely with microwaves. While working with an active radar in 1945, he noticed a candy bar in his pocket was melting. The high-powered microwave beams created a heating effect ideal for cooking. Spencer deliberately attempted cooking popcorn with the microwaves. Next, he tried cooking an egg. The egg test was less successful than the popcorn. It exploded in his fellow engineer’s face! However, we can cook eggs in microwave ovens. Try poaching one.
Spencer, employed by Raytheon, continued experimenting with different methods of heating food safely with microwaves.
Raytheon filed a United States patent application for Spencer’s microwave cooking process on October 8, 1945.
In 1947, Raytheon built the first commercially available microwave oven. It was called the “Radarange.”
An estimated 90% of homes in the United States have a microwave in them.
HOW TO OBSERVE #MicrowaveOvenDay
The microwave oven is more than an elaborate popcorn popper. Use this celebration to explore the many uses of the microwave oven. We’ve provided a few suggestions to get you started, but we also encourage you to share your favorites, too!
make crispy bacon (and you won’t get burned either)
melt chocolate for all that holiday dipping
heat rice or bean-filled hot pads for achy muscles
steam vegetables
soften brown sugar
dry herbs
loosen labels from jars
While testing these ideas out, take some time to clean your microwave, too. Steam a wet cloth for a minute on high and let stand for another minute. The steam softens any build-up. Then, wipe your microwave down with a little hot soapy water to remove any greasy splatter.

In Port Elliott today, great day for caching out to get a few near McLaren Vale before the heat hits later this week. TFTC
Put the sweat wheels on the car today and headed south, with primary aim being a couple of trads left in the O'Halloran Hill Recreation Park which is in my 42K circle from home. After that I headed further south to the December OTD series where the bike would also be useful. Ended up finding all 25 left in the series.
Thanks LíB for the cache and the series.

Down South again on this Perfect, Sunny but cool day of Wednesday the 9th of September 2020, i decided to finish off this the "OTD December" Series having done the rest from 17 December upwards a while ago. Pls note, all hides were found and were in good condition. [Some moisture-munchers were added where they were missing in some of the caches].
On my way east to make my journey back on my Deadly-Treadly to find these caches there was a Super-Agro Magpie that swooped me and left scratch-marks in my bike helmet, [so glad we cyclists have this protection], at Cache number 6, {OTD December 6th} so there's just a heads-up for any Cacher on foot to be very wary of this a very stroppy Collingwood Supporter, that has both no fear of humans but a taste for human blood ha ha... It's an 'Air-Shark' just carry a stick and hold it above head height and you'll be right.
Having no fear of birds whatsoever, i just went about parking up the deadly-treadly and carefully making my way up the crumbly and slippery bank, with the stroppy bird overhead ha ha.
"Give It Up" i said. "You ain't getting my blood!"

On a day of scattered showers, gridge98 and I decided to grab our bikes and do some of the December OTD series from Noarlunga.
It’s glad to be a citizen of Adelaide where we didn’t originate from convicts. I think our nice accent shows that, thanks 3LG.

Last night after the vent Davidwazza and I decided that we would come and tackle this OTD December today. Majority were fairly easy finds others took a few minutes and a bit of searching. Only one DNF along the way.
A very enjoyable ride and some nice views of the vineyards makes it that little bit special.

As it was such a nice afternoon we decided to walk part of the trail to collect some of the OTD December series. Luckily we had the trail almost to ourselves which meant a quick find at GZ. TFTC and thanks for the series in such a beautiful location! It was a bit of a scramble to get to GZ but luckily it was dry and not too slippery.
Sixth find on a lovely morning walking through the vines. Had to send my boyfriend scrambling up the hill with the pen for this one, good thing he loves to climb! This is such a lovely trail, thanks for the caches!
Found during a very pleasant day cycling along part of the Coast to Vines Rail Trail, enjoying the exercise, searches and scenery. Thanks for the cache 3LG!
Stay Chloe (the Golden Retriever while I make my way to GC. She stayed. TFTC
Decided I needed to go for a walk. It was way too hot today. If the heat keeps up will go home soon. Too hot for a kiwi here
Out with Aussie M & M grabbing a few more caches in my new local area, after work. Some were a little harder to find than others.
Thanks to 3LG from mogni

Headed out on the mountain bike for a boxing day ride and found December 1-11 to almost complete the series. Muggle walkers and riders everywhere today working off their Christmas eating. A beautiful morning for a ride along the rail trail and finding some caches. Enjoyed riding up along the top of the cliff.

I only needed to clear 3000 steps after work today. This time I was wearing solid shoes and could carefully walk through the long grass along the cliff to grab these two caches. Thanks for the Series.
Beautiful day to be out cycling and geocaching with most of December found and 3 of the October series. Thanks 3LG
Continuing to do the OTD series in date order (well, as much as possible) and finally we've made it to December . Out on the bikes on a cool, clear morning was invigorating , but at least it wasn't raining .
We're not sure why the fence along here is topped with razor wire . Did there used to be something else in this paddock [?].
TNLNSL.
Thanks again 3LG.

With beautiful weather for the whole Easter weekend there was of course plenty of caching to be done. Today was time to made a start on the OTD Series down at McLaren Vale. Given the late start it was doubtful that I would be able to complete the whole trail so I set my self a manageable task of doing roughly half and thankfully I was able to just complete this and getting back to the car just as night was falling. An enjoyable walk was had in doing this series and hopefully I can complete the rest in the next few weeks.
