In Maryborough to visit relatives so driving to Maldon for caching day. Far too many muggles around, on vintage trains trip to put in the dirty work to find this one.
Staying at Welshmans Reef CP and popped in to Maldon for a wander.
Took a little bit of time to find but finally spotted the familiar blue of a clip lock container.

This one had us and the in laws serious engaged and climbing, reaching, twisting, pulling. The in laws had a blast looking for this one.
My overthinking, yet again, made this soooo much harder than it needed to be Thank you. Great old engine & a fab excuse to climb, crawl, poke, prod & pull.
On our way to Bendigo Alexikatty said I had to do this one, and what an amazing surprise it was, we arrived to see a marvellous blue steam train just sitting there enjoying retirement, when we realised WAIT, NO WAY there is an active steam train about to take off. After a few pics and video of it idling we decided to drive down the road and film it in motion. What an amazing day, thank you for bringing me out hear to witness such an amazing event.

Nice hide that gave me an excuse to check out all the heavy engineering, great fun, tftc
Thinking that it would be quiet, after having lunch in Maldon we decided to get this one as a few years ago we'd got some around the mine and couldn't get this one as there were so many muggles around at that time. We walked up to see somebody cutting the grass so we decided to have a look at the station first, only to find across the tracks was a police car complete with a policeman and what looked like a few volunteers. Waiting for the person to finish cutting the grass we walked up to where the cache was, doing the usual taking of photo's etc and having a sneaky look around, after a while the coast was clear and Mr Moose found it after a bit of a search, we signed it and went on our merry way
A quick find today with covid restrictions keeping the VGR closed and city visitors away. Not at all like when we were last here! Thanks Team Ninja!
Geez didn't l pick the wrong time to stop here the train was here so I had to wait until it left, when nobody was around l dived in to retrieve it signed and replaced...TFTC
My dad works for the railways, so I often stop and look around the old stations.
The artwork at the car park was fantastic with the natural materials and nice to see the train tracks are still in use today. Whilst my friends sat in the car out of the cold, I was happy to quickly find and log this cache.
Thanks for sharing this location.

Spending the weekend away in Maldon celebrating our camping groups 7th anniversary and staying at the nearby Butts Reserve (*insert snicker).
We walked over to the train and waited for a few muggles to clear before beginning our search. Fortunately this wasn’t nearly as long a search as it might have been, particularly as this isn’t a nano!
Thanks AussieTrainDriver for the cache.

Time for another camping weekend getaway. This time to explore Maldon and surrounds.
What a beautiful old engine she is! Cache spotted quickly and retrieved by RoamingHowie, just in time before four muggles approached.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, AussieTrainDriver

Day out on the VGR steam train from Castlemaine. A good day out in Maldon and the enjoyed the steam train. TFTC a good hide. Favourite point for me.
Found with Crafty Dusty and the geopooch Pippa on our road trip from Sydney to Victoria. Both of us are current and former railway employees (driver and guard) in Sydney so all railway caches greatly appreciated-and this one was a beaut. Found by Craftydusty just when we were about to give up-yay! TFTC!

Loved all the history. Will be back in the cooler months to ride the steam train. Cache found in excellent condition
Fortunately not too many people around. Thanks to the clue we found this reasonably quickly. I've spent ages with this type of hide before.
Thanks Team_Ninja

Hmmmm...took a while to try and locate this one, even with the hint. The kiddies got restless so we committed it to another day. It was fascinating seeing the old engines and carriages though. Fingers crossed door next time!
Something about steam trains and the bush.
They just go hand in hand.
A touch of history in a world where so much is becoming modernised.
A quick find here with the hint after getting down low.
Great way to spend the day. Thanks for highlighting this spot.

Another week of getting out and about in the caravan for the team, this time to the Maldon area. Maldon is a great town with a variety of shops still open in beautiful historic buildings. Love them. Easy find with the hint in no time at all, found by hubby.
Enjoying the sunshine and out for some exploring today. Was nice explore more of Maldon today. Mr ReganSeeker is a little bit of a gunzel, so perfect for him. TFTC
The grannies found this one before I even got the app up and running so would have to say this was an easy find. They thought it was hilarious that I was still fiddling around while they had the cache in hand.
Easy find, but you hinder was right. It's hard to get it without muggles seeing you.

Took a bit of hunting and watching everywhere for muggles but eventually in hand and logged.

Lucky for us, by the time we arrived at the railway station it was early evening and there wasn't a sole in sight! This made our job much easier. Using the hint we began our search but struggled to see anything so a torch was gained and the hide was in hand almost straight away.
Thanks AussieTrainDriver for the sneaky placement.

oopsy forgot a pen with catherinec19 but we went to the local newsagents before enjoying a milkshake together before coming back. this town is full of cute locations and rich history. overall a pleasant spot. tftc
found after ages of searching!!!! tytaylor19 and i loved this one. i was searching at the spot where it was for ages, but ty and i swapped over and he was the smart one who found it. what an awesome spot and area. thank you for this cache and fir taking us here
Since I posted the wrong log on this cache I thought it appropriate to add a note. Me and catherinec19 are on our second Maldon caching trip of many and we decided to stop by this one. Having been discouraged from finding this one due to the previous DNFs and getting nervous about posting a “false” or “fake” log on a cache I hadn’t even found yet I was delighted to find this one after almost giving up! Even if we couldn’t find the cache I highly recommend any cachers who are unfamiliar to this area to have a look at the location as it is a gold mine of fun! Tftc and wish I favourited when I originally posted
Frustratingly unable to locate this one with dehands. There's always a next time!
We just where there when the steam train arrived. Finding a cache in such an object with so many places to hide can be difficult but we did it. Tftc
In Dunolly for the St Arnaud MEGA with my dearest friend Kato Potato and we decided that rather than head back to the MEGA, we'd take the circuitous route home to Gippsland by cleaning out Dunolly and picking and choosing on our way home. We pulled over here on our way out of town and it was an incredibly populated place! Trains moving, trainspotters admiring, people everywhere. We tried to be as train-enthusiast as possible, admiring the engines whilst searching as best we could. We set a time limit as these types of hides can take forever and thankfully, I spotted it in time. TFTC Team_Ninja
In the area for the St Arnaud Mega event and once again privileged to be able to spend the whole weekend with Mummy Short Legs on a mum's weekend away, our scared annual Caching Adventure without the families in tow.
On our way home today and, spoiled for choice, we decided to target the well-favourited caches on the journey. Stopped by here on the way out of town without knowing what to expect. What a special treat. There were trains moving in and out to watch and photos to take of GZ for the kids at home who would love it. The find itself was more tricky but, after a good hunt and setting a time frame of only 3 more minutes hunting, MSL found it! No mouthful of rust and dust either! Winning! TFTC Team_Ninja. Favourite from me for the location!

A quick park and find after exploring the town and having lunch in a very pretty goldmining town. tftc
Rode the steam train from Castlemaine to Maldon. Great experience. I was a bit worried about finding something small on a train but it was a lot easier than expected. tftc
Heading south for the St. Arnaud event next month. Day 60 of our trip. Caching along the way. A total of 30 for the day and 1721 for the trip. TFTC
On our second attempt and after a nice additional clue we were able to locate the cache
Out with grandkids and friends Liam Rachelle Harhrison and Ariel. 5th for our day and tftc
Found with the family today before the J549 engine took us to Castlemaine and back. The hint made for a quick find. In good condition.
We had a good search around but no luck at all here today. Large machinery are always a problem for us to find a cache on.
The only thing I found here was grease that I got on my sweater,
Thanks
