Logs
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Clever Monkey for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

I had been wanting to spend some time in this area, trail bike riding and caching, for quite some time. The stars finally aligned and R055ktm and I, and a muggle friend, camped along the Murrundindi river for a couple of nights. We enjoyed our time riding the backroads, dodging timber trucks and locating caches.
Ross finally found this after expanding our search area. It is in excellent condition and, after signing the log, we sat on the road and ate our lunch.

It was the longest Unloved around Melbourne that can be walked to that the bananas have not already discovered. That is, no boat nor climbing equipment required. It does require a 4WD but the bananas don't have that luxury.
So the bananas walked to it. We had decided to give it another red hot go.
Now on arrival there were so many good places to hide it. Stumps, hollow logs and so much fallen wood.......
And "wooden" you know it, it "wood" not appear.
And then we checked the hint.
It still seemed daunting.
But
If you said it was under the 5 foot copper head snake that "wood" have been a better clue.
It seems like the bananas were moving like stealth itself for still after we open the hide, inspected the treasure and admired the snake for over a minute it still did not move. It was warming itself on some rare early spring sun. Seriously less than 300mm from GZ.
But the snake was not that stupid. For it was camera shy for by the time camera was out and frame the image of the snake immediately behind the sought after treasure.......it moved location to less than 1 meter away to a safe rocky cave.
The bananas travel so fast in this game that snake have been stood on and not realised before we have moved on. Rarely do we slow to snake pace. But to look at this beautiful specimen for such a prolonged time was well worth the 1049 days of unloved also achieved.
And after an earlier miss on this treasure the bananas and the snake now left happy to seek more discoveries.
Thanks snake
Thanks Cowboy.

Regretful DNF but searched both sides of the road and nada - thanks for the adventure regardless
So working my way along the powerlines it was time to start heading to where the mead flows and the Vikings a bragging of their days battle so noticed this cache was leading me in such direction , after battling the wind n rain and rugged terrain, with loose rocks and fallen trees my sexton was malfunctioning and the planets were out of alignment I finally found the loot required and left a PT coin
Thanks for the Adventure "Live long n prosper"

While out on a caching mission with Jacko83 with a few caches in our sights andf this being one of them.
After Gregs beast climbed all the way to the cache we set out to have a scratch around hear and there and then a scratch of our heads, then we widened our search and bingo there the cache was waiting for us.
Thanks clever monkey for the cache and fantastic views.

Out and about in Black ranges with Chris today to pick up some rare DT, my centroid and a climb or two. Added in some 4WDving which I loved. The Triton took this low ratio all the way up, some parts a little loose under foot! The cache here took some time to locate, however eventually was. Hill climb took a stretch, and the crutch of my pants was the casualty! A fave from me for the views and drive. Cheers
We liked this cache so much we thought we would try this again with our 4wd... in 35 degree heat! It's still one of our favorite caches! Geodog redeemed herself and did not vomit this time (although did not leave the air conditioned car).
Getting to this cache was an adventure in itself with a 2wd! Geodog got car sick (twice) on the way to the cache (well as far as we could go, roughly 450m from GZ). A log got stuck under the car, resulting geodaughter & geodad on hands, knees & tummy under the car to pull it from where It was wedged in the exhaust pipe (geomum turned car on mid way... Resulting in extremely hot air!). Finally the stick was out and geodaughter & geodad made the slippery walk down to GZ where geomum and disgraced geodog waited with the car. When we got to GZ the GPS jumped around a bit and after searching in the wrong spot for awhile we took a gamble and searched in the correct spot. Very worth the adventure for first to find and beautiful views! Thank you for our first FTF!
The bananas have made it easier for other to follow.
You see, we were seduced by what appeared to be easy tracks that provide easy access around the whole area.
Until
This track was approached.
The little car happily pointed downward.
And downward
And downward
Until
It looked a little tough to change our mind
So steep, brakes didn't work.
So rutted, the course was set.
So rough, every rock caused damage.
But
The road has now been smoothed. High points gone. Low points filled as the little car ventured where it should not.
And after all that.
To hard to find. No treasure.
Well the bananas gave it a chance.
But it is unlikely to be found until a 4wd is sort.
Now
How do we get out?
