Made an extensive search in spite of the nasty prickles and thorns but even Tui’s determination could not find anything here today
Nice quick park and stumble around in the dark lol. Found a torch tryed again. Success. Signed replaced pronto. Onwards an up wards lol.
Arrived at this one expects a mission. I was really surprised that I found it after 5 mins using hint and GPS. Coordinates pretty bang on and after reading cache page had the cache in hand. Log a bit damp but not too bad Not sure about terrain rating but all good TFTC
Had a good look around and then ran out of light. Thought I had an obvious spot for it but it wasn't there... will try again another day.
We found it on a geothermal tour today. we had to search a little bit.

Had a good look around with two previous finders and couldnt find anything in the time allocated. Might be worth a check up.
Had a good poke around for ages, unfortunately not there for us today. Thanks anyway.
Road trip with NZPatoto to spend a couple of nights in her motorhome at Lake Rerewhakaaitu (fantastic little spot, peaceful but not quiet due to the frogs and just what the doctor ordered), completing caches on the way there and back home. Got most, had to leave a couple due to parking, traffic and size of motorhome. 26 in Total, 2 DNF, 1 Note and 1 disabled (not included in count) on the homeward trip. Was open when NZPatoto print the details. 20 of 26 Found by Nahkins. Day 3 Travelling Home. Had to have a wee look, first was looking on the wrong side but eventually found it. While at this cache did some reconnaissance work for another cache in the area to come back and find another day. TFTC
Headed off with Nahkins on a road trip in my motorhome. Headed to Lake Rerewhakaaitu doing caches on the way, while we stayed and on way home. Had mixed results.A couple I couldn't stop as there wasn't enough room for parking. 2 DNF. 1 disabled the day after I had printed out the list. Lots of blackberry in places. Took a bit of looking but Nahkins found, signed log and replaced. 1st for the day. TFTC
Last leg of my journey home after my Christmas break up in northland. After spending the day with family holiday if I’m Rotorua, I headed off with a mind of being home at about 8pm as tomorrow is the dreaded first day back at work. Of course I targeted a few caches to get on the way but truth be told, I don’t have a lot left to collect between Taupō and Feilding so I knew it would a stop free trip from there.
A short detour of the highway and I’m pleased to find the cache quickly. TFTC

Dropped of our friends at the nearby thermo-geological site and went off exploring & caching
Here we had a good laugh as the terrain indicates something completely different
Alas, easy it was ... in the end
Found well

Stopped to check out the green lake and find a cache. Nice short walk and a little search then the cache was in hand.
Today we had our third day in Rotorua and made a trip in the wonderful Waimangu volcanic valley. Special emphasis had we on this trip because this is a vital example of the Geothermal Explorer Highway. On this trip we searched, found and logged many caches, too. The weather was good in the morning, sunny, and it got wormer all day long, including some good clouds in the afternoon. Only sun was to be seen.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had better things to do than observing two geocachers.
Thanks to Hed for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Native. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Tftc. This took longer to find than it should have, after checking looking in all the difficult spots first. Finally spotted it, just as we were about to depart. As we were signing the log, other geocachers arrived, so cache was passed straight over to them! Talk about timing! Always nice to meet other like-minded people.
Decided to grab this cache after a visit to Kerosene Creek..... figured a walk would give the youngest some extra drying time too. Happened to meet some other cachers on the way which is a bit of a rarity, nice people (chances were good being cachers). Did the walk through to the highway which was pleasant. Thanks for leading us to this track!
While travelling through this beautiful country we like to Go out and walk and look for Caches.
Thank you for the nice walk down here.

During our trip through NZ we had time to look for a few caches. This one was one of them. We logged as Team EIN. What a beautiful place! TftC! Greetings from Germany! - Willow
I found this cache by chance, while walking from Waiotapu thermal park to Rainbow Mountain peak. I highly recommend to walk to the mountain, the wiew is incredible and the way up itself is interresting.
The cache was in bad conditions, and maybe even not at the right spot.

Back on the road again for another international trip. This time to Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and South Korea.
Like our previous trips we focussed on old caches, high favorites, rare cache types and pretty locations.
Most of the trip was together with Plaguerider, Zanna and FLtravelers, but some of it I did solo.
Logs were signed as DATT (Do All The Things) and if there were answers, we typically sent them as a group.
Thanks for maintaining the caches for us.

**Trip log:**
Found during Team DATT's (Do All The Things) annual international caching trip consisting of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5 and myself. Africa kicked it all off back in 2016, with a follow up European tour last year. I tried to pitch Asia but the pull of the Great Ocean Road and completing our 6th continent was too strong, and we landed on week long road trips through both Australia and New Zealand. Before meeting the team in Sydney though, I was able to schedule some layovers in Asia (Beijing, Bangkok and Singapore), so in the end I got a bit of everything. =)
**New Zealand Day 10 - Tauranga -> Rotorua -> Taupo:**
Today was one of my favorites in the country! We explored lots of smelly, yet beautiful places while slowly making our way south to Taupo. The geothermal activity in the area is fascinating, and there was lots of it. We also got to enjoy a Redwood forest (I haven't even done this back in the States!) and a number of gorgeous waterfalls and springs. Really wish we had more time in this area.
**Cache Log:**
Lots of people parked nearby...I guess they were off hiking because they were nowhere around? Ended up doing some cache maintenance for the CO.

We’re on our annual international geocaching trip as Team DATT (Do All The Things) comprised of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5, and zanna. This year we chose to explore Australia and New Zealand. Zanna and I decided to do a two-day stopover in Beijing, a three-day stopover in Bangkok, and a 12-hour layover in Singapore on our way to meet up with the rest of the team in Sydney.
Once we got the Team back together, we made a “bee-line” to Lane Cove and various caches around Sydney. Then we headed down the coast on A1. After visiting Wasp Head, we headed up through Canberra and down M31 to Melbourne, after a webcam stop on Mount Buller.
We had a great time in Melbourne, which is my favorite city in Australia so far, then onto the Great Ocean Road, the highlight of Australia for this trip. After a couple days (not nearly enough) we left the ocean road and headed up A6 towards Victor Harbor (webcam) and Adelaide (webcams) for our flight to Auckland. Seems we found every webcam in Australia.
After a short week in Australia, we flew into Auckland and continued with our explorations in New Zealand. We drove over to Tauranga, and then down to Rotorua and Taupo, enjoying the thermal features. We headed down 5 to Napier, with stops at a couple of waterfalls, and then down to Wellington to catch the ferry to the South Island.
We spent the night in Picton, and then over to the awesome west coast, before crossing over Arthur’s Pass on our way to Christchurch for flights home.
We targeted old caches, highly favorited caches, earthcaches, virtuals, and of course webcam caches, and anything else that got our interest along the way. Logs were signed DATT. Answers, where required, were sent by one of the team members. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of our trip with this cache. Great spot.

Rummaged around with team DATT. Ended up performing cache maintenance, leaving a fresh new log. TFTC
Not sure what we were looking for . Found something that might be native. Saw all the other DNFs so did not spend a long time here. No cache for us but we did have a lovely time in the Creek.
Thought we had it but when got back to car and opened the bag it was someones hidden stash of porn dvds!! Lucky Mum opened this one! Weird...
No sign of cache at all.
No sign of cache at all.
No luck today looked for 1/2 an hour but it eluded me used 2 gps same vs by extended search both up and down the track
It of a lose lose today no cache found and juniors aeroplane lost elevation and floated down stream
While visiting from Australia we had spent the day exploring the geothermal activities near here and as we headed back to where we are staying we couldn't resist one smile, found by the youngest team member, log signed and replaced as found thanks for the cache and the fun
It's definitely time for KrystalKath & I to "take the waters" again. Finished work early so we could get to nearby Waikite before dark. Stayed in the campground, took the waters, and again this morning and now to continue our road trip in support of Captain Mary Hyde. No need for us to go to Kerosine creek as we've done that numerous times over the years and nowadays prefer "Hot & Cold". But there's a new geocache here and that's reason enough. Also gave us a reason to stop and test the water at Rotowhero. Thanks for the opportunity. TFTC Took TB
Great spot on a saturday morning, especially with the sun over the water. Wow.
We left a TB behind.

Touring New Zealand with Higster and staying at Lake Taupo. Visited the Buried Village today and stopped off for this one on our way home. Parked up and Higgi soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
On the North Island with JK2, passing this cache after a visit to the Buried Village, took time to view the lake, a short stroll to GZ and the cache was soon in hand, signed the log and replaced the cache as found TFTC
After we've seen Wai-O-Tapu our journey goes back to Rotorura. But we ever have enough time to find somes caches[:p]...
Thanks for showing this place and hidding the box.

Heading home to Feilding from Rotorua after two wonderful days caching. Loved this trip to Rotorua and our dash to Tauranga for the web cam cache. Now racing for home with as many on the way as we can fit in. We spent ages last night figuring a route home on which we could collect the most or something interesting or needed for the Matrix grid. Could not decide and just got up and drove. And then stumbled on this run we had not seen. Great hint for this and we were parked up at said location and over the bridge. Munched on the wild blackberries - which we had not done since childhood. Soon had the cache and signed and returned as a vehicle came by, and then another and another. A busy road. TFTC
Eerie seeing the misty steam rising from the trees & bushes around us. TFTC. Found with ChisL.
Love the little bridge we would not have found were we not looking for this cache, so thanks!
Three catchers plus three muggles spent four weeks in New Zoeland and so we browsed along our way. Hint is for me question still now. TFTC
Four weeks we spent together with Lwagnero and Geoded wandering through the beautiful New Zealand and occasionally also searched caches. This was one of them that we found. Thanks and greetings from Czech Republic.
Taupo has a lot to offer - a great lake, lots of sports, interesting about volcanoes, geysers and earthquakes. The landscape is varied and invites you to go hiking. The waterfalls are spectacular and the geological parks are rich. And between some very nice caches.
Many thanks from Germany from the Moorhelmi

#8752. This afternoon we stopped by Waiotapu for a visit to find the native. Quite a few other vehicles also came through the road near here, although not at GZ itself. The trail was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The log book was a bit damp, but managed to still write on it. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Thanks Hed. Couldn't find any Natives though.

I am visiting from Australia and after spending a week with my sister in New Plymouth then attending the mega event at Turangi I have time to play tourist for a week before my flight back to Sydney next Saturday. So I thought I would head towards the Bay of Plenty as I have never been to this part of New Zealand before. Today was a run from a bit south of Rotorua to Tauranga, so not a job of getting every cache on the way but a line on the map.
This was first for the day, an interesting little detour just south of where I had stayed. Unluckily in this morning's rain the views over the lake weren't that good but the cache was quickly to hand. Thanks Hed.

My geocaching buddy and I were off to the Mega in Turangi. I wanted to see this lovely lake. It felt nice and warm when I put my finger in. I got my first sniff of the typical Rotorua smell. I hadn't noticed any smell last night in Rotorua which surprised me. We got near gz and thought oops when we saw a fallen native. Luckily our GPS settled and we went another metre to find the cache, thanks

Not the native I was expecting but spotted it and giggled. The lake looked amazing with all the steam and native bush behind it. TFTC

Geocaching was one of the minor parts in our wonderful and way too short trip to NZ.
We had a brilliant trip through this awesome contry. We were highly impressed by these quick changes in landscape. Thanks a lot to NZs openminded and lovely people, we always had the impression to be welcome.
We hope to be able to come back one day and visit some of the numerous things we couldn't take a look at.
Cheers from Germany guys and thank you soo much
