I haven't been able to get to this cache as I no longer drive that way for work. It hasn't been found for a while so I think I had better archive it.

Thanks for the cache

17-Dec-16
GPS was circling a bit, but felt sure it should be on one side of the road, we were wary of upsetting the cows so did not look for too long. Thanks, lovely spot, had not been through here for years

17-Dec-16
The second no find for the day what a bummer!!! GPS was circling and the cows were feeding on the side of the road behind an electric fence so didn't spend much time looking. Now we know the road is not permanently blocked off, we will try to find this cache another time. Thanks

Took a calculated jump but made it and found the treasure. Tftc

21-Oct-16
We found our way to this cache by mistake. Missed the turn off to the trout hatchery and couldn't find anywhere to turn. This cache placement was a perfect spot to turn around. TFTC Smile

2184 Was following my phone but it locked up just after I turned down the road. Stopped to transfer info to GPS and found I was 32m away. Jumped out of car and thought I spotted the cache. At GZ this was confirmed.

Took a little searching but we got there eventually

After starting the weekend in Taupo late Friday night and eventually losing half of our group along the way, alpenmilch80 and I moved north to Rotorua to continue the weekend's activities, and slowly started to make the trip back home again.

Cool to come down here instead of the usual main road, and a nice quick find once we got to GZ. TFTC

Out and about with evilno9 during the queen birthday weekend. Today we spend the night and some time in Rotorua before returning to Auckland. Enjoyed the backroad on this busy weekend. TFTC

Took long than usual to find, just need an elevation adjustment

We loved this old road which seems to be reverting to a more natural state in some parts. This is our second cache of the day, the big 'new' roundabout one was the first, so this was a fitting find to add to the story.
We are off to cache around Ngongotaha and Rotorua. Our shoes are already wet from the first find and will be wet all day. Oh well!
The cache is in good condition. Thanks for bringing us along this road less travelled.

17/05/16 16:45 Took a wee leap of faith to locate this... When we were kids, this was always the way we came, enroute back from Hamilton. It put us nicely ahead of any queues of slow moving traffic... Thanks for the memories, Cheers, GC.

Another one found in this series, we like caching on these backroads TFTC.

First cache of the day, on way to Rotorua to go ride the luge this long weekend

Found on the way home for a dot day. Found on the ground and not sure how the clue fits so put back in the obvious spot. TFTC!

#1590. Heading north with the family to visit more relatives. This was our first stop of the day for some geocaching. Have to admit I got a bit confused here as searched one site and found nothing. Then there didn't seem to be that many options for hiding a cache on public land. So read through the logs, hints and description again. Still wasn't sure so was about to flag it when I had a sudden flash of inspiration. Headed over and had the cache in hand in seconds. The logbook was still dry. Signed and replaced as found. Nice hiding spot. Thanks for the cache.

It was nice being on a back road after being on State 1 and 5 tftc

A quick find on a quiet back road. Cheers.

TIme to head home to Christchurch, the slow way!

Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Out on a road trip to Rotorua - caching is a great way to find some interesting roads. I do remember before they did the main road corner up - it certainly inproved that corner. Found the cache quickly by just following the geotrail TFTC SmileSmileSmile

Out and about around midnight, knocking off 2 dot days and cleaning up around Tirau.

2nd cache, which is in good order, found a way to GZ, and a quick sign and dashed off to the next. I knew this road was here, but never been on it before.

We were headed down to Rotorua from Auckland this evening, as we were taking part in the Ekiden Relay Marathon event the following day, but needed a cache as well in order to fill a gap on our calendar matrix. We figured, might as well make this grab as far from home as possible, and make it en route! Well, it was pitch black when we got there, and had to make this grab by torch light, possibly accidentally frightening the many cows in the paddock at the same time. Not only were they very vocal, but they were all also, at the same time, started very audibly emptying their bladders! This ensued many giggles from us, and also not too entirely convenient, because after the lengthy car ride, we were needing the toilet as well! Oh well, the cache was quickly spotted, log was soon signed, and thankfully we weren't too far from our accommodation. Many thanks for the hide and the giggly adventure! Big Grin

What to do today? No plans so piled the kids in the car and shot off in no particular direction to see what we could find.

We ended up here. I parked up and searched one side of the road then quickly found when checking the other side - 50/50 chance I guess Smile

No cars or people here today - cache found in good condition - Cheers kiwimitchu

This was one of close to 30 caches I found on another infamous mission planned at a recent local event. Cats&Dragons, HKCB, 11hpg11 and I left Hamilton just after 5am and headed to Rotorua for our first decent tramp of the season. We signed the logs 1HIC, an anachronism of our caching handles, as has become the tradition when we go out together. In hindsight we probably should have singed them HOC but very few would have got the obscure reference although it was well deserved by the end of the day. We had a fantastic day. There were plenty of laughs, the odd geoscratch, and some aching bodies by the end of it. I learned about pirate metal, the value of a number 3 BK meal deal, and why straight lining it may not always be the fastest way to GZ but more often than not is the most fun/ memorable way. Huge thanks to the CO’s who placed the caches we visited today and for maintaining them. We were taken to some great places and taken on a very fun filled and memorable journey.

Having already grabbed caches around the Blue lake, completed the adventure trail series, Mt Morangi, the Cave of Death, Tuhoto Ariki a couple of puzzles and a nature walk we grabbed this cache on our way home after taking a detour to avoid an accident on SH1.

A few weeks ago a plan was laid down to find some adventure on the trails in Vegas. I think it went something like "What are you doing on the 13th?" My reply was "yes" and then the mission was explained to me. It was a even bigger "YES" then!! The early start with iammrwalker, Cats&Dragons and 11HPG11 meant we were awarded with a fantastic sunrise as we headed into Rotorua, and the day just got better from there.

On the way home from the days hike and after a re-fuel with a number 3 from BK. A big thanks for the placements, we signed the log 1Hic (an acronym of our caching names).

With an accident on the main road a small back track to the other end of the road meant we were able to get around it and find the cache at the same time. Thankfully it was a quick find as this road was a lot busier than it usually is.

A few weeks back Catsanddragons mentioned he was planning on coming here. I decided I was coming regardless of other activities I had planned the night before, which meant I was a little jaded at 4.30am on Sunday morning. HKCB and Iammrwalker came along for the fun too. We signed the logs as 1HIC, made up of our respective caching names. We left Hamilton at just after 5am and travelled 20km through some great trails and some great off-trails. I gained a few impressive bruises which I am going to use for sympathy later on! A great day out regardless, lots of laughs and shenanigans which I have come to expect on these missions. Thanks to all the cache owners to give us a reason to get out and about!

Pretty shattered after completing the adventure trail, 2 summits and a crazy bush bash but there is still more caches to be found.

A big accident on the main road meant we could do a quick detour off to find this one. A quick find thankfully as the road was a lot busier today than I guess it is normally

Heading back from work in Taupo so made the call to stop in here to get the lonely dot off of the map. Nice simple find

Thanks for all the Fun and the cache, thanks to the CO's for making our day so memorable

I sat in the car ready for a quick getaway while CrusaderWoman did the decent thing. TFTC

Easy find after the cows had munched the surrounds down, just a little tricky to get the logbook.

A massive day ahead... Today's adventure requires 50 caches with at least a kilometre of separation. It's also a Dot Day for me... And we are interested in finding any caches that were published within a week of today... No problem! Out with Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have a planned route that will take us as far north as Waipu (Northland).

This was our first find of the day. I started to doubt my iPhone gps which pointed to one side of the road, while Gap was holding the cache on the other side. A reasonably quick find nevertheless... TFTC.

Frost at home this morning and 2 degrees and today is going to be a biggie for us. Planned at attempt our challenge of 50 caches a kilometre or more apart, problem is we have almost cleaned out all caches within 100 Km's of home so arranged with Hemi (Squirrel Nutcase) to pick up at 6am and head north. For some reason I was up at 3.15am so this just added more time to my day. Caching was a little sparse until we got to about Silverdale. State Highway 1 was very busy and with caches on both sides of road, watchful eyes were very important.

6.40am - I soon spotted a area where I thought cache could be, sure enough cache in hand but the Squirrel was looking on opposite side of road for some reason. Cache signed, 49 to go. SLTFTC

Thanks Kiwimitchu.

FTF at 530 am
I saw this come through on the email last night and thought I would go for the first to find this morning so after unloading my delivery this morning and putting it away in chiller I locked up the depot and went for a drive I knew that Spider house wouldn't be up at this time of the morning and I was glad when I pulled up to GZ and quickly found the cache I was so glad the log was clear and that I managed to get the FTF .
Thanks kiwimitchu for the series and I will get the other two in the series that I haven't got yet at a later date need to get back to work.

[^] [^] Haha Davidson Clan you were just lucky. We were on our way home from Hamilton at 11pm last night and would have stopped on the way for our 3rd FTF of the series but the iphone was on after hours silence and we did not see the email until we got home, so we thought we'd leave it for you to find. lol.
