Found this one on the way through. A quick find which was appreciated by my non geocache riding buddy keen to get to the next town
After a great day yesterday riding from Linville to find the final of the UP the BVRT multi i had a great night sleep staying in Yarraman. I left my husband this morning to ride from Yarraman to Blackbutt finding 8 caches along the way ,20kms in just over 2 hours. There were lots of cows on the trail today and i had to slow down to not scare them too much. Had a great ride and I ended up meeting my husband at Blackbutt for breakfast. What a great day to be a geocacher.I ended up finding out that the scare tape on the top of my helmet really does work a wonder. A couple of magpies started to swoop but quickly flew back to their tree. This cache i did not long to find. I did a bit of CITO here before happily riding on Thaks Brother Colin for all the fun
It was surprisingly easy to walk down to this cache on the northern side of the bridge, on the western side of the trail. My GPSr had me looking on the wrong side at first, but then I remembered the hint and made the find soon after.
Mrs Herbz is on a roll today.... 3 out of 3. Mr Herbz will need to pull his finger out. TFTC
I checked a few head height rocks before finding the right one then spent the walk back to the car brushing cobblers pegs off. Thanks for the cache Brother Colin
Spontaneous find as we paused for a fruit snack on the BVRT riding Yarraman-Blackbutt. TFTC.
A mini road to trip with Wallaby Wanderers to Blackbutt for parkrun meant grabbing some caches on the way home. This was the first stop on our way back. Thanks for placing this one
After completing the nearby Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Parkrun it was time to start caching! This was our first find of the day. Thanks for the cache and sharing the history with us
On my way out to QOGM 2022 at Charleville.
Cache found without difficulty, after reading previous logs, in the expected area. A bit of a climb.
Cache in good condition.

Found whilst on a very non direct route to QOGM - Charleville 2022. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Sweet-Sour

But hard to see but still an easy enough cache to find. Junior Geocachers may struggle more though...
The drizzly rain did not deter us from a cycle to cache adventure today. Too bad the swooping magpies and plovers were intent on protecting their young. TFTC
Once I found my way down to the trail, and I’m glad no one was around to watch me struggle with the gate(the lock is like one of those twisty metal puzzles) it was a relatively quick find… in fact I clearly saw the cache from the trail…
It was while I was replacing the snap lock bag that a couple of dirt bikers came along and stopped to have a chat where I had come down onto the path…
At least it means I can catch up on some logs while I wait them out… replaced the cache with a little more camo…

We parked where suggested and found a round a bout way down to the trail. Cache was spotted as per the hint and log signed and cache replaced as found. Thanks Sweet-Sour for another one.
This one took a little while.
I put the gps away too early and kept going back to where it never was.
Eventually got the phone out and zeroed in on where it actually was a few metres further.
Thanks sweet-sour for the entertainment along the rail trail today. I saw nobody all day long.

Day 5 of 10 – Benarkin to Yarraman – BVRT Complete - Cache 1. We were so lucky to be heading north of the covid lockdown. Thankfully we were in Sth Burnett and could continue our ride onward. We met several people on the trail today turning around as they were heading in the direction opposite to us, and they didn’t want to enter a lockdown zone. Sad. Nice quick find for us at this location. TFTC.
It's been far too many months since The Bromance last went on a weekend geocaching road trip so plans were made a couple of weeks ago for a journey north towards Kingaroy and the surrounding area. Unfortunately Crookedpete was unable to make it due to family commitments so it was a Bromance Lite+ trip of JezNDez, Swellerfungus and Seffnjarah.
We were able to navigate Victor Del Prado close to GZ which left the conundrum of how exactly to get down to GZ from our parking spot. Dez and I attacked it from opposite sides of the road but Dez found the easier and quicker way down and had the cache to hand just as I arrived. Signed the logbook with The Bromance team stamp (although there may be a slight glitch with the date shown on the stamp) and took the easier route back to the car. TFTC

I am not medically ready for the descent, so left it to my Bromance compatriots to do the hard yards. The call was "my Grandmother could come down this way", as they headed down. Lots of encouragement from me and the cache was found.
Battled a spider web to get to this one. Also 165km on bike from Kilkivan. Glad it was an easy one.
Last cache for the day as the sun was setting.
All good at GZ

NK is about to start an exciting new job at Googa OEC !! We had our first night out here last night. While she’s doing important paperwork stuff, I’m out doing important area recon. Love how close the BVRT is AND there’s caches to be grabbed
Also impressed w the mud swallow nests under the bridge, make sure you look up.
Bit tricky riding down from the road, but now I’m on the trail I know it’s an easy ride to the Blackbutt Bakery - yummo

After an interesting descent from the highway we ran into 6 riders on the rail trail. TFTC
Heading up to Kilkivan to attend the annual event, which we've become quite find of over the last few years.
Instead of taking the boring highway route, we're heading out through Nanango and stopping here and there to make some finds along the way of ones we've missed previously or that have been published since our last visit.
I've avoided scaling down the hill to this one on the last few trips, but today I headed down and it wasn't too bad at all, a nice decent if you pick the right line. Grabbed a heap of bottles and cans to recycle for cash, who said caching doesn't pay!

Log for Nukku Bridge signed at 07:15 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie and bringing us here **Sweet-Sour**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

After finding the last one WillPunkey and Scoob knew exactly what to do at GZ but that was the easy part. First we had to descend from our parking spot. Thanks Sweet-Sour
Left the car at Harland Park and rode the bikes to this cache collecting the caches at Gilla and Gilla Bridge on the way. The ride here took an hour, it was a slight uphill all the way, the return journey took 30 minutes.

Camped at Blackbutt doing rides along the rail trail. Great ride and a cache, good way to spend a day. Thanks Sweet-Sour.
Finally found it. The trickiest part of this hide is getting down to the trail itself. Don't risk your neck, look around there is a path. Bike riders no problem. TFTH.
Last cache for the day. Both tired, seemed to always be at the wrong end of the bridge. Phone gave up. But eventually found. Tftc.
Found with bennyboppers mnance01 and jemillalucy. We found the path down to the cache so no climbing needed. Tftc
Out caching for the weekend with the Tough Mother’s (Jemillucy, Bennyboppers and Lisylou). TFTC!
Bike ride from Benarkin to Yarraman and return today. Great to have a few caches to find on the way. The traffic certainly sounds very loud from down here on the trail. A tremendous ride - loved it. TFTC again Sweet-Sour. Somebody certainly likes honey!!
Out caching on a Sunday Had planned on doing this on bikes but couldn’t resist as driving past TFTC
Best to approach from a path down on the western side...loved the mini station you can see across the field. Tftc

NyssaFlutterby, Wombles&Co and I had planned for an awesome weekend adventure at Larapinta Falls. But instead.... we ended up at the Bunya Mountains due to the weather.
Yes it was to be a very wet one from Sunny Coast to the border and beyond, and west, but we were determined to enjoy our weekend... maybe just not in tents.
Waking this morning, the weather seemed reasonably clear, so we headed off on our alternative adventure.
Arriving at a little spot to pull off near here we began our trek along the rail trail and down under the bridge. We traipsed through some muddy spots and soon got to GZ feeling the humidity as the sun came out. A quick find a little above our head heights.
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour.

I hadn’t realised where we were going until we were opening a gate.
A nice walk down to the cache, which was found high and dry.

Continuing along my weekend ROADTRIP with wombles and 1MinnieMoo, this was our next smiley stop.
As we strolled down to the VRT, butterflies and other fluttery creatures flew from the damp grass.
The container was spotted without a hassle and after relocating an eight legged critter I managed to get my hands on it.
After signing the log and replacing the beasty we all stood for a while and enjoyed listening to the twittering of the local feathery friends.

We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us.
Moving day today, so we packed up and hit the road before 9am to try and beat some of the heat.
After setting up camp at Blackbutt and having some lunch we headed out to try and find a few caches.

Decided to spend a few days camping in Nanango with my geodog Scruffy, so we just had to go out and find some of the caches hidden in this beautiful part of QLD.

I'm camping at Yarraman for the weekend with T-Tech, teamdfl, Brother Colin, ruzzelz and If, and today's plan is to take a ride along the BVRT from Yarraman to Blackbutt. We set off from the caravan park and at the start of the rail trail we met up with stealth seeker. Some of the group had a few caches to get, but I had only this CO's 2 bridge caches to collect along the way.
I was lagging behind the others at this stage, and the cache had been located and was being signed when I caught up. Just had to make sure my name went in the logbook TFTC, Sweet-Sour.

We parked the car and made our way through the long grass to the trail, then along it. At GZ, we hunted at the height suggested by the hint, but no luck. Then I spotted the hide. Hmmmm.......I wonder how tall some people are?? We signed the log, returned the cache to its hiding spot, then continued on our way. TFTC

Another of those caches that are not a quick park and grab, at this one you need to walk the walk or ride if you have a horse or bike as we have neither it is do the walk. The cache is in good condition. SL TFTC

We cycled in to this one from Kooralgin Gilla road. It was quite a bumpy ride, but we made it and the cache was soon signed and replaced.
The GPS on the phone was indicating that I needed to go into the ravine, however I didn't think this was safe while I was on my own, so will give this a respectful miss.
Rusty85 went down, made the find and then climbed back up. We will be back with bikes to do the trail, looks fun. TFTC

Monday. Anzac Day. Slow Puncture decided on the spur of the moment to undertake a geocaching road trip which would (eventually) end up taking us through Gympie > Kilkivan > Goomeri > Murgon > Wondai > Kingaroy > Nanango > Yarraman > Blackbutt and back home again. All up this took 11 hours.
Luke is quite the fan of railway infrastructure, and we made this our last one for the day as light was failing. After we figured the best way to get down to the cache (we were wrong, but at least in the process we worked out the best way to get back!) we took a lovely stroll along the old alignment. Branch lines are the best, so much character. At least some of this is retained in the form a of a rail trail.
Kerry did some clambering but it was luke who eventually sussed out the ocation, and then ensured Kerry did not tumble as she retreived the cache. Ironically, as Kerry was perched precariously, light rain started to fall - isn't it the way!
This was the 26th of 26 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Sweet-Sour***, for showing us this place.

I had reason to drop a child at Mt Binga today and hence have a day to kill. Geocaching!
This was an interesting start. I wasn't sure where to go, but a previous log implied that going through the gate was fine. Then how to get there? Ah. I see.
Off I went. Could have been tricky, but found fairly easily in the end.

So today I parked the car at Benarkin and headed out on the MTB.
This was the fourth stop. By now I was looking forward to the shade under the bridge.
A bit of searching before spotting this one. I know the CO is not that tall for that to be head height.

Out and about this morning while the weather is nice. We received a fair amount of rain yesterday.
We parked the car off the side of the road near the Nukku North Boundary Road sign and walked along the obvious track, through the long wet green grass.
We hadn't walked far when we reached the first of two rail trail gates that needed to be opened to get to GZ.
We then walked along the rail trail for a short distance before reaching the second gate.
We soon spotted a likely spot for a cache. Had to lift our son up to reach this one for us.
Signed the log then the kids enjoyed trying to catch tadpoles in the puddle only metres away.
Lucky we wore our old shoes as they were saturated in mud and water by the time we got back to the car.
Thanks Sweet-Sour for bringing us here and showing us more of the wonderful Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.

Number two for the day and not that far from home. I know this area well and decided to look for a park close to Nukku Rd and I was able to park safe off the highway but not that far from GZ. Short walk to a gate then walked along the top of the bank till I found a safe way down to the track then a short walk towards . GPSr indicated 3 meters to GZ and I was looking head high and spied a spot which would be good to hide a container and I was rewarded with the honey jar. Must not have missed Liz and Bruce by much. Photos attached.

Out and about again today seeing more of this lovely countryside. We enjoyed finding this cache. Thanks to Sweet-Sour for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this location.
Was about to walk away from this one as access looked a bit risky T4 for someone on their own. Luckily Teambenders spotted me and stopped to show me how the masters do things.
Firstly- work smarter not harder.
Secondly- there's more than one way to skin a cat or in this case- get to a cache.
Thirdly- most direct route is not always advisable. So instead of breaking my neck via the T4 route, we had a nice not too difficult walk to GZ and signed the log.
Thanks Team Benders for the company and advice! xxx

Visiting Nanango for Nanango's First Event. Came upon this cache after doing a number of caches after the Event. Enjoy doing these country caches out here. Located. TFTC
Had an enjoyable weekend including attending Nanango's first Ever Event and searching for lots of caches. Saw wonderful scenery as well as wildlife on our travels through the back roads of the South Burnett. Thank you to all the COs who place the caches in these fascinating spots.
We are now heading back towards Nanango but there are a couple of new ones along here and so we stopped to add our signature. It was the easiest access through the gate we decided and that was our route until the slope was manageable. If you were a keen biker or walker then doing all these rail trails by actually taking the trail from start to finish would be the way to go. On this very hot day we decided to do them by parking the car nearby and going in on foot that way. Found the cache in good condition. Thanks for showing us another part of the rail trail Sweet-Sour. Cheers! [^][^]
On our way home from the Event we called in to find this cache.
We noticed a car parked nearby and recognised another cacher from the Event today.
Hello Echo1. No you cant go that way it is too steep.
We moved our geomobiles to the other side of the bridge and found a way in.
We arrived at GZ and soon had the cache in hand.
