Found this cache with Rebel Acts after our dune adventures. Trying to keep the feet dry as we circumnavigated large pools of water was sussesful, little did we know it would later be in vain.

Out and about with Tiz13 for another one of our weekly caching adventures, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles.

Today's chosen destination was the Wonthaggi coast and down to cape Paterson.

This is one of the caches found today. After several dune caches this one was a walk in the park.

Thanks helsinski For the cache.

#4529 Another day on our weeks break down on the coast and another day of windy, cold, drizzly weather. Lets go for a caching walk! We started and finished at "Wetlands Gateway" and walked out to Cuttlers beach. Along the way we made 9 finds out of 10 cache hunts and completed 9.7kms.

Quick find here as we enjoy our walk and close in on the crashing waves at Cuttlers Beach.

Well today I found myself in the Kilcunda-Wonthaggi area with a day to kill. In my travels today I had much time to contemplate where I should be out caching in this area or not, given that over half the cache have been disabled due to COVID19. I could come up with 10 good reason why to and why not, and it could be debated at length without conclusion but at the end of the day I figured that the game pieces are in place still, I have breached no rules or laws, I probably couldn’t be more isolated (didn’t see a sole), many other are caching, I have sanitised my hands so much the skin is cracking and the reviewers are publishing new cache. Certainly, I would consider the risks are higher simply going to the supermarket, and I could log these cache in a few months, but I choose to do it now. Apologies if I have upset the CO’s by breaching their intentions.

The day for me started in Kilcunda, picked up a couple of loose traditional cache and then parked near the cemetery. I preceded to hike my way along the beach collecting the Killer view series and Cache Favourite challenges. Certainly the views were killers! The beach was stunning, just one set of footsteps as far as you could see from where I had come and a beautiful clear beach ahead of me. The beach and waves were stunning, and the small patches of rock formation just a wealth of interest, however there was a bite in the air that on a few occasions gave my head the pain like when you eat ice cream too fast! I continued down all the way to Powlett River mouth and had to do a little bush bashing near the river as I made my way past the beach house, fairy garden, bird in hand, the ballgame and so many other great inventions. Eventually I rejoined the rail trail back to the car after 11km or sand, dunes and trails, and tucked into a cup of tea, some sausage rolls and fruit.

My second adventure was around the Wonthaggi Heathland Nature reserve, I spied another circuit and feared there maybe more sand dunes! My legs were still feeling if from earlier. A I headed from the carpark towards the Target range knowing I was going to have to back track straight after. Then headed back towards the beach and saw an OWL! And continued on towards the beach for more isolation, more amazing views, more sand dunes, ammo cans (who doesn’t love a good ammo can?), and a little cut back through to the car. Another 10km covered, time for another cuppa, muffin bar and some nuts a raisens.
The weather started to turn now so I thought I best start making my way back home and collected a few drive byes along the way. Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the day, the fresh air and kms certainly was great for my body and headspace and look forward to getting back to find some more. There will definitely be a few Fav points going out.
Thanks for the cache Helsinski

Cache remains in good condition, as per previous finders comments, but at least 7 to 8 metres off the track, albeit through fairly easy terrain
Enjoying the stroll through the reserve

After the lunchtime event I teamed up with xambo4u who is always great company for an afternoon of caching. We had our sights on a group of caches in the heathlands and along the coast By this stage of the day xambo4u had to leave so I had a pleasant solo walk along the sandy track to collect a few more caches before the dinner event. The trees were interfering with the technology so had me wandering about until I spotted the container TFTC Helsinki

20/03/2018 - 7.16pm - Find No. 916 - 1st for the day with non-geo son who offered to take me 'hunting' to assist in my attempt to get Planet souvenirs. This one & it's mate have been annoyingly green spot-like on my map so this was a good chance to turn them into happy yellow spots instead. Time was short tonight as I now work later & ngs had to drop off the girls so our hunting time was short. It was a nice walk & it was really nice that we wind from the last few days had disappeared [^] NGS spotted this one Wink before the sun went down & then I did the signing & putting it back job. 296 unloved days to add to my tally Big Grin Thanks for the cache Big Grin

Apologies to Lesley Gore...
Nobody knows where my Magellan has gone,
But frmen1 left the same time.
Why was it in his hand,
When the gps is mine...

It's my birthday and I'll cache if I want to, cache if I want to, cache if I want to.
You would cache too if it happened to you...

Yes...I'm out geocaching for my birthday. frmen1 and I though just a quick half dozen would suffice. This was the sixth one. Stood at gz and said it must be here somewhere...and there it was. Took a blue woolly mammoth and left a frog button. TFTC

Leaving the others to continue on, we took another short diversion off the track to quickly have the stash in hand at 15:00 to mark our 5700th find. Big Grin

Thanks to helsinski for the cache.

Found at 3:26 PM GAFF1 in the company of my son Alex.
Another excursion into this heathland reserve and on a windy day hoping that the flies would be blown away we headed off on the circuit - well the fly theory didn't work Sad
We experience a bit of an over-run on this cache and when we turned around to go back the cache was clearly seen from that angle.
Thanks helsinski.

The Geo-Girls Gone Wild weekend has arrived at last. OBVIOUSLY this weekend was going to consist of 4 excited screaming women, an all-night party in which tv's would be thrown through windows, a visit to the tattoo parlour for matching tramp-stamps & excessive indulgence in X-rated entertainment. Well...............it didn't quite end up like that. We were 4 excited women. That part is true. But the "all night party" turned out to be a late night FTF in our pyjamas. The "trip to the tattoo parlour" was in fact just a trip to the fish & chip shop after finding 23 caches on a gruelling walk. And the "adult entertainment" was, in reality, just a G-rated movie that we watched in the safe surrounds of my caravan. Thanks to Vanessa&Aodh, Zeus Hera & kids and Jankel2015 for sharing the most perfectly sensible Geo-Girls Gone Wild weekend with me.

For some reason I got a sudden urge to go to the toilet!! We had a good giggle at the correlation between the cache name and the container. Last cache of the day.......or so we thought. Ended up getting an FTF in our pj's at 11pm that night.

Last cache for us on this very long loop of the Rifle Range walk. It was still a long way back to the car so we really needed to get going . . .

21-Nov-15
Ha ha, great cache container and title. This was our last find of this epic walk where, by this stage, we were planning emergency fish 'n'chips and DVDs that weren't G-rated. Thanks for the series, helsinki. It's brought us to a place that otherwise we would never have explored. We saw camels, cows, echidnas, kangaroos and a tiny snake. Really nice (apart from the tiny snake...).

#797 - Day three of my trip down the coast for some caching fun! Today I decided to attempt some hides from a variety of cachers and not Gonefishen07 exclusively.

After having a bit of a late start due to the morning rain coming through, I decided I would go on two walks today and this was apart of the first. Parking at the Rifle Range Wetlands carpark I made my start and was able to pick up 17 out of the 19 finds that I had set out to find before returning to the car.

Thank you to the CO's for the hides, I had a very fun walk with what was a wide variety of caches and hides as the rain slowly stopped. Tftc

Very funny play on words. I was glad that this one headed back to the car park and Rebekah was very happy to claim a dinosaur puzzle as her own. We left a bracelet in return. Thanks Helen for a nice series of caches and for leading us on paths that we had not explored down here.

07-Oct-15
Found! More than a metre from the main track but still an easy find Smile

07-Oct-15
Great morning for a walk. Cache found in good order without difficulty.

05-Oct-15
Found this morning during a warm walk with geo husband. He checked out the Heathlands for bushfire conditions (he's a volunteer at a local fire brigade). I checked how far it was to this hide. Did make a meal of it because my GPSr is in the Doctor's being fixed so had to rely on my phone, which is not extremely cache friendly, however, got to within 12 m of GZ and decided it wasn't going to be too difficult to find. Followed my cacheing instincts and finally came the words we had been waiting for "Found it" and a FTF as well. TFTC Helsinski.
