After 253 finds and 8 containers placed out here it is time to end this one and allow for new cache to get placed.
Has gone and this was last container said would put out. Also the bench feels like going to fall apart so also reason not to keep going
I’ve found the container but sadly empty we are here for the night so will try and find some paper tomorrow
Didn't want to open it because it is very wet today ... The playground slide is partially submerged!
Cache 509 time for a quick break on the drive back home to Invercargill after an event and a day caching in Dunedin, so why not this lovely picturesque spot Cache was a quick find and in in excellent condition T4TC
Dramatic weather today, had to retreat to my car to roll the log back up. Great spot!
I did not remember finding this cache several years ago, so katie w and I took advantage of a toilet stop to head for this one. Nice hide in a great location. Only muggles around were swimming in the lake with their dog.
Stopped here for a short break on route to the catlins. Cool hide. Cold and windy so no one was nearby to watch except for a couple of ducks
Found this one with my family, been here before but too many muggles. Good to get it this time. tftc
(# 6107). Day 8 of my South Island odyssey. Today is getting some caches between Dunedin and Invercargill/Riverton as well as having a good look around. A quick find. Everything in order. Exposed is just one adjective I would use. Managed to shield the hide from a muggle parked nearby but was really exposed to the weather with a fresh southerly and waves crashing into the promontory. TFTC
Wasn’t planning on getting this one today as there was lots of muggles. Stopped here to eat an early lunch and as I was eating all the other vehicles left, one by one. So may as well get it while I can! Log book full but managed to get my name on a seemingly black space. Tftc
Had to look around for a bit but eventually found it. It was a but hard to get open!
Been on a bit of a geocaching mission. The weather has turned pretty horrible. I found this surprising pretty fast... had to run to the car to sign then ran back to return it... the wind is so cold and the rain! TFTC

As the country enters a 4 week lockdown, it is strongly recommend that Whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces.... to remove temptation in urban area I am disabling this cache. Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

A bit chilly today but nice site. An old gentle has come down to the lake on his mobility scooter to do some fishing. Food in him. TFTC.
Me and the cache box were lucky, not been catched by the waves at this stormy morning. TFTC
Found on 27th October 2017! Two two and a half years ago.. that’s what made me want to download this app but have only just got around to actually using it!! Thanks so much, fully hooked now, that’s for sure
Accidentally Found 2years ago before I knew about geocaching.... 2years later finally downloaded app!
As I was sitting down, having lunch, getting ready to sign the log, two fishermen walked across the talud and set up camp behind me on the waterside (which, in itself, isn't all that strange for a fisherman, to set up camp by the waterside).
Talk about being exposed on all sides....

I stayed here to enjoy tranquil day with a book. There was an old fisherman sitting in totally wrong place , so I didn't want to look like weird girl, I asked him if he knows the geocaching game, he replied No. I found it very quickly. TFTC!
On a caching weekend to Otago and Southland with Tuolei to pick up old caches, TMGT's, CANZ, solved puzzles and any others that caught our eye along the way. We had a 4 day long weekend planned that would take us around Dunedin on the first day, Tuatapere via Sutton, Balcutha, Mataura and Winton on the second day, Tokanui via Riverton, Invercargill and Bluff on the third day and then back to Dunedin via the Catlins on the last day. Overall we did 1578km and picked up just under 100 caches and managed to knock off most of the caches we had on our list.
After picking up a nearby puzzle we stopped to grab this one as well. We grabbed just before a couple of older women sat down with there fish and chips for lunch so managed to avoid the audience. All good here - TFTC.

Out and about on day one of Bennett24 and my holiday to the south to look for interesting caches including oldies, solved puzzles, geotour caches, and interesting types. We are heading south from Middlemarch to Tuatapere today - quite a drive - and stopping off to get a few caches on the way to break up the trip.
This is certainly exposed on all sides and we were lucky that it wasn't busy at GZ so we were able to retrieve the cache with no difficulties. Good thing as it was lunch time shortly thereafter and got busier. Thanks for the cache - all good here.

Beautiful location. Got to be carefully on a hot sunny day not to get spotted, as it's a popular location
16 January 2020 10:48. Tftc. What a great spot! I was relieved that you decided not to put the cache on the water feature.... 7953
Staying in the area and touring around to spot birds and some caching.

After staying overnight here on our way further south to collect the TMGT caches we just couldn't leave without finding a cache here. A nice quick find in the very early morning. A lovely wee township. TFTC

Found this one awhile back but did not have a pen, signed today on yet another dot day. So calm today. The lake at its best.
After a bit of a hiatus and a detour to the dairy to secure a pen, conditions were right to nab this cache today. We had the cover of a delightful baby seagull that was not going to leave and made a good attempt at nibbling the pin (thankfully not the log!). TFTC #310
A muggle was watching nearby but I managed to get it when he looked away. I found it quickly and sat at the table to sign it.

Stopped on the way down but there was a fisherman here, so grabbed on the way back under the cover of darkness. - Bitsprayer
Tried for this on the way South this morning but there was a fisherman rigt where we wanted t be. Retirned tonight on the way home and under the cover of darkness found a car that was locked in and then the elusive cache.
Lake Waihola looks better at night!
Thanks

FTF with new log. Decided to stay in the area on route to Catlin's & Stewart Island. Hope to get up early to find the other cache nearby. TFTC
Passing by this cache as I headed to Alex to go to some maintenance on discovering gold, then the plan was to go back home via clydevale to check on some of those caches on the trail.
All good here.

Compass and common sense indicated we were in the right place but we couldn't find it.
We go past lost but finally I am in charge of stopping time!! No excuses required and an easy retrieval
We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.
We were the only idiots out here today, it was so incredibly cold with the wind and rain. The lake was an awful brown colour so there was definitely no one taking advantage of the fun slide nearby. The cache was spotted as we approached and the log signed and we returned it as we found it.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
As we were leaving we had to wait for a train, which is always a bit of a novelty to us as we are from No Train Nelson, I happened to take a photo with my phone and I am pretty impressed how it turned out.

Beautiful lake. Found this place by accident when we missed a turn on the GPS. Pleased we came here.
Just ate our picnic in the car then went to grab this one. The umbrella was good cover! Tftc
Quite handy that it was raining otherwise someone would have been right at GZ. TFTC
Out with Mr FF caching on a lovely summers day with Kerynz and Mr Kerynz. Had tried a few on the millennium track first but the gap between number 2 and 3 of 1km with a lot of uphill put us off. The multi at the bridge took us to the township and ice cream so Mr FF was happy. TFTC!!
A quick find with nobody around early on new years day.
Lovely spot, thanks for the cache

Over from the UK on a 4 week road trip of the South Island. Continuing our drive South to Surat Bay for the night. Super quick find here. What a gorgeous spot. TFTC.
Found on drive from Nugget Point to Dunedin, stopped at this beautiful lake. And right in front of us was this cache! Good coords and hint, photo attached. TFTC. TM from N Wales
I have never stopped at Lake Waihola, ever! I've driven past numerous times, but usually on my way to, or home from, Invercargill and pretty keen to get to my destination. Finally an excuse to stop here and have a look. Quite a busy spot for a weekday, shame it was windy. Anyway, found the cache quickly thanks, was gutted I couldn't go on the slides though.
Went to get this cache on way to Christchurch, but two lunching muggles beat me to cache zone. Got it on the way home, and enjoyed the scenery with some fish & chips. Had left my phone at Geodaughters place, but located cache without it. Good cache
