The Committee thanks all who attended from Victoria, QLD , NSW and all the locals.

16 people ventured on the Yowie Tour after the event to Mt Franklin and an enjoyable walking tour taking in the the panoramic views seemed to be popular.

Thanks again to all who attended and time to archive the event now.

The third find of the day whilst down at the Cotter for an event. The final event of the Easter weekend, and what a weekend it has been! I have enjoyed catching up with people each day, especially on Saturday when I managed to pick up 87 caches with Loci612 and Ambi666. It was a shame about the mega but I am looking forward to it in 2019!

After bidding farewell to Bachudo, I headed off to the event. I followed my GPS and managed to find a group of familiar faces gathering in a prime location at the Cotter. Said hello to a few people and then signed in before heading off to pick up one more cache. I hope everyone had a great time on the Yowie Hunt, it sounded like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, homework comes first so I couldn't go up there today but I will get there someday! Thanks for the event Oz Mega Committee!

Great event ... but what a busy place! - I had to park "all all the way over there" ... then wandered all the way up and most of the way down again before I noticed the small group of people up under the shelter thingy Smile
The small group soon grew big, and I had the usual good home catching up /meeting people/etc.
I then went on the post event tour, which was also fantastic fun ... I eventually made it home about an hour after my visitors arrived! (my parents, on their way home to Qld from doing the "grey nomad" thing in Tas - good thing I had arranged a key for them to let themselves in Smile

10482. One of several finds on a nice Easter Sunday caching run down the Cotter area.

Another well organised, run and attended event. Enjoyed all 3 this weekend ! Arrived early and helped keep off the swarms of muggle Canberrans after our tables. Soon a whole crowd was here and the event was underway. As always it was fun swapping stories with familiar faces as well as some new and visiting ones.

Thanks Greg and the Committee - bring on 2019 !

TNLN - TFTC !!

Attended the event with dghoffy. Another great event organised by Greg and the Oz committee. A very popular spot for the Canberrians to spend their holdays. Lots and lots of muggles here today so it was good we managed a good spot for the event. Nice to meet a few more cachers and share stories. TFTE

27-Mar-16
Attended - sort of - I arrived just as everyone was on their way to do the Yowie caches... the story of my life... who would have though the Cotter would be so busy - I spent about 10min getting to GZ, having parked some distance away, but still arrived by 1:50, but obviously everyone was keen to get on with their caching adventures, so all I had time for was a quick hello & goodbye to a few familiar faces, plus I got to pass on a special pathtag to Tankengine. I did get to suss out some info for a walk later in the year though, so all was not wasted. Next time I will try to be more punctual!!

27-Mar-16
I have not cached around the Cotter before, but the excuse of the Easter Sunday event was perfect to come and collect a few of the easier ones in the area with Bobl27. A lovely afternoon with lots of chatting to other cachers and a BBQ at the event, and some joint cache finding before and after the event.

Cache number 5 for the day! This one was the longest find, with about 2 hours needed to do it justice Smile. There were many people milling around but the log book was easy to find. Lots of visitors and regular caching friends around and good to catch up on the latest gossip. Thanks for organising !

27-Mar-16
Our first event in a while and a good turn out. We weren't equipped for the Yowie trail so gave this a miss, I'll get up there for the new ones soon. TFTE

Attended with AngelG27 and SharkieFan. Nice event and good chatting to other cachers. Enjoyed the BBQ especially. Thanks for putting it on Smile

27-Mar-16
We arrived at the Cotter to find all areas absolutely packed with picnicers - had to park on the road outside the picnic area. The Meet n Greet spot was the best in the park. Enjoyed our lunch we cooked on the BBQ, then the raffles and announcements of the Megas - really looking forward to them. But the real highlight for us was the fantastic Mr Frankln event after the event. WOW! Thanks to the OMT, and in particular to The Farmers 5.

27-Mar-16
Many thanks to all who attended the event .We lobbed at 11 am to find people just leaving the site. We bunkered down the site and had to ward off over 10 others trying to secure the site .

Then over 40 teams attended to enjoy some socialising , BBQ ing and just enjoying the sunshine with hundreds of others nearby doing the same thing on Easter Sunday.

The first prize raffle winner and FTF honors went to Zimba W and second prize to Mee Too both from Canberra. We would like to thank all the attendees and travellers from QLD , VIC and all parts of NSW .

The 2 PM Yowie Tour saw 4 cars and 16 people drive for one hour to Mt Franklin and enjoy the 2 hours of trails, gossip, yarns and good times on the trails. No Yowies were coming out to play but we did get dozens of beaut panoramic pics.

Thanks once again to all who attended from our team of 4 who enjoyed our good times in Canberra, 3 nice events and catching up with all the teams.

Came to the last event of the weekend. By now, loads of familiar faces, still a bit sketchy on the names. A nice event run by nice people. TftEventc

27-Mar-16
After a short mornign of caching along the way, we finally made it to the event almost right on time! The Cotter was completely PACKED and we wasted a long time driving through the full carpark. Im the end I had to park all the way across the bridge and walk in.

We had some food and talked to a few other geocachers, listened to the speeches and watched everyone get their prizes. We didn't end up going to the Yowie Tour, but did some caching around the Cotter instead. What an amazing event with a great turnout. Huge thanks to Greg for organising and making the drive here!

Its a shame that my weekend of caching and events is finally over!

As soon as my orienteering was finished (near Captain's flat), I headed back to Canberra and across town to this event, arriving just as formalities were coming to a close and in time for the group photo. Following the event, I joined a few others to get some nearby caches. TFTE.

27-Mar-16
Another fun get together. Thanks to the organising team for making it all happen and very impressed with how they managed to save the site at this very popular place.

27-Mar-16
What a fabulous spot and what a great event. We really enjoyed meeting lots of cachers we have either been in touch with or found their caches. Thanks Oz Mega Committee for bringing us to this lovely area and for a great event.

27-Mar-16
Such a beautiful place. I wish we had more time to explore the area. Visiting Canberra this long weekend from Ballarat Victoria.

27-Mar-16
Was a great event thanks to the organisers I even did the yowie tour afterwards Smile

27-Mar-16

27-Mar-16
Nice opportunity to get out to the Cotter, I attended with pacmania and binathere

27-Mar-16
Made it out to the meet and greet right at the very end as everyone was packing up. Didn't get a chance to sign the log book but went caching with Loci612 and Ambi666 afterwards. Took a selfie halfway up the hill towards "Dam Dome". Joelisa sends his apologies for not being able to make it.

#1111. 118 days in a row.

I headed out to Cotter to attend this event. It was great to see so many familiar faces and meet new people. I had plenty of chats with people about all sorts of caching-related topics.

I hadn't calculated until later in the day that this would have been my #1111 find, or I would have said something at the event.

After the event, I went out on the Yowie hunt sub-event. We got four caches on that sub-event and most of us continued on to another one before heading back.

27-Mar-16
Certainly getting a lot more comfortable attending Events, as I get to know more of you. The third event in 3 days - way to go! Drove in from Captains Flat this morning (passed some cachers doing the CFT) and had decided to just attend the Event as I had spent yesterday afternoon grubbing out regrowth. Once there however, the idea of a Yowie hunt was just too appealing, so thanks to the Farmers 5 for organising the hunt and big thanks to Tankengine for driving us up to Mt Franklin. A great weekend!

27-Mar-16
An awesome event on a beautiful Easter Sunday. Thanks to the Oz Mega Committee for the organisation of this event and the meet n greet yesterday.

27-Mar-16
May I congratulate the Oz Mega Committee for conducting this Meet n Greet event. A very picturesque setting and obviously a popular picnic spot. Must try and return sometime and spend more time here.

27-Mar-16
Wow - what a great event! The location was perfect, the weather was perfect, and the company was perfect! I'm amazed that OMC managed to secure this location! The Cotter was SO BUSY today! It is always busy on Easter, but add good weather, and this was amazing! I wonder how many times muggles had to be turned away! Smile... (Certainly numerous times after I arrived). Brought along some BBQable lunch, which I enjoyed, ran into many fellow cachers which I also enjoyed - and finally - went for an expedition to Mt Franklin with numerous cachers, which was also excellent! A great day in all! Thanks for organising OMC!

27-Mar-16
Thanks very much for the great event. Whilst I had some great chats with local ACT cachers, I also got to chat to those from Queensland, Merimbula and New Zealand. I particularly liked the fact that we got an excellent spot...over others. Ha. Well done OMC.

27-Mar-16
What a great day and a great event. Enjoyed the company of some new caching friends while eating lunch before heading down to try our luck at one of Tankengine's Weird Wiers - no luck but I got back in time for the raffles and to get my name on the list for the Mt Franklin tour. Great weather helped make the day perfect. Really enjoyed the after-event tour up Mt Franklin, searching for yowies. Home late, but happy - thanks again to the OMC for organising another great event. Cheers all Smile

27-Mar-16
Motndarg x 1 will be there

27-Mar-16
Tfte I wish I could have stayed longer but the crowds really flared up my social anxiety, looked like you guys still got a big turn out though

27-Mar-16
Should be able to attend after the tuggers egg hunt.

27-Mar-16
After the Tuggeranong Easter Egg hunt the family +grandparents headed out for a picnic. I suggested we go to Cotter so I could sneak over and attend the event. Popped in and out during the event and managed to steal a few eggs and a couple of sausage sandwiches. Thanks for the event Oz Mega Committee, unfortunately I couldn't partake in the Yowie hunt.

27-Mar-16
Combined a family outing with a caching event! I even picked up a prize.

No family interest in going to Mt Franklin, so I'll pick these up another time. Tried a couple of cotter caches afterwards with no success.

Thanks for organising.

27-Mar-16
Made a mistake. Took the GeoSchnauzers. Dogs not allowed. And to make it worse, one of me workmates and her two kids and two dogs were at the Cotter for a picnic. We spotted each other, and I ended up with her dogs as well, as I knew I couldn't stay. I dropped in on the event for a while, to log it and chat to a few people. Thanks for organising it. Great day.

27-Mar-16
FTF - Yaay!

Another glorious venue for the event! Plenty of shade and seating for everyone. Managed to complete a couple of conversations that we started yesterday. Went off to find some caches and returned for announcements, glad we did because I won a prize and the FTF Big Grin. I decided against going Yowie hunting with the others and hung around to get a few more round the river. Thanks for another terrific event Oz Mega Committee

27-Mar-16
3rd event is 3 days.....bit a record I would think.....

Grabbed a couple of caches before heading to the event and found a few people already in attendance. A very busy area today and it was great to see we could keep the area to ourselves. After the food and the info session, those Franklin bound headed off while fitzy and I headed for a few other caches along the road.

Thanks guys........another event for the weekend.
