Fun find, cache needs a bit of attention, fixed as best we could and released the frogs inside
Thanks for the find. Gps is spot on. Box could do with some maintenance. Also, I didn't have a pen to sign the log.
Before our dune expedition, Rebel Acts and I found this cache.. Added new waterproof paper and ziplock bag...cache out in open, unsure if it's in its original spot.
Out and about with Tiz13 for another one of our weekly caching adventures, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles.
Today's chosen destination was the Wonthaggi coast and down to cape Paterson.
This is one of the caches found today. We found this one just sitting out in the open, the log book was dry but was a dried out pile of mush, we added a new piece of paper and ziplog bag.
Thanks helsinski For the cache.

TFTC, nice and easy like you intended! Could use a little maintenance when you have time.
TFTC! Really enjoyed walking in this area so thanks for taking us here. The cache is extremely waterlogged and the logbook had disintegrated so couldn’t sign. Needs maintenance - see photo attached.
Unfortunately Log and everything gross
Love retro Tupperware but I guess this is why things get upgraded
Definitely needs some serious maintenance

Took way longer than it should have. Just managed to write in the soggy logbook. TFTH
Nice location, unfortunately inside is soggy and wet. Saw roos in the paddock nearby!
#4532 Another day on our weeks break down on the coast and another day of windy, cold, drizzly weather. Lets go for a caching walk! We started and finished at "Wetlands Gateway" and walked out to Cuttlers beach. Along the way we made 9 finds out of 10 cache hunts and completed 9.7kms.
Last find on this walk and after a dnf at the previous cache we didn't want another frown here. In the end this took some time as it was pretty randomly hidden in the scrub and not at any of the obvious locations around gz. phew! TFTC helsinki.

Well today I found myself in the Kilcunda-Wonthaggi area with a day to kill. In my travels today I had much time to contemplate where I should be out caching in this area or not, given that over half the cache have been disabled due to COVID19. I could come up with 10 good reason why to and why not, and it could be debated at length without conclusion but at the end of the day I figured that the game pieces are in place still, I have breached no rules or laws, I probably couldn’t be more isolated (didn’t see a sole), many other are caching, I have sanitised my hands so much the skin is cracking and the reviewers are publishing new cache. Certainly, I would consider the risks are higher simply going to the supermarket, and I could log these cache in a few months, but I choose to do it now. Apologies if I have upset the CO’s by breaching their intentions.
The day for me started in Kilcunda, picked up a couple of loose traditional cache and then parked near the cemetery. I preceded to hike my way along the beach collecting the Killer view series and Cache Favourite challenges. Certainly the views were killers! The beach was stunning, just one set of footsteps as far as you could see from where I had come and a beautiful clear beach ahead of me. The beach and waves were stunning, and the small patches of rock formation just a wealth of interest, however there was a bite in the air that on a few occasions gave my head the pain like when you eat ice cream too fast! I continued down all the way to Powlett River mouth and had to do a little bush bashing near the river as I made my way past the beach house, fairy garden, bird in hand, the ballgame and so many other great inventions. Eventually I rejoined the rail trail back to the car after 11km or sand, dunes and trails, and tucked into a cup of tea, some sausage rolls and fruit.
My second adventure was around the Wonthaggi Heathland Nature reserve, I spied another circuit and feared there maybe more sand dunes! My legs were still feeling if from earlier. A I headed from the carpark towards the Target range knowing I was going to have to back track straight after. Then headed back towards the beach and saw an OWL! And continued on towards the beach for more isolation, more amazing views, more sand dunes, ammo cans (who doesn’t love a good ammo can?), and a little cut back through to the car. Another 10km covered, time for another cuppa, muffin bar and some nuts a raisens.
The weather started to turn now so I thought I best start making my way back home and collected a few drive byes along the way. Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the day, the fresh air and kms certainly was great for my body and headspace and look forward to getting back to find some more. There will definitely be a few Fav points going out.
Thanks for the cache Helsinski

Agent Xena Rogue, found this during her treasure hunt.
Nice spot.
Tree branch has snapped so cache was a bit hard to reach.

Great location, easy find. Unfortunately, it's home to an ants nest so no swaps for us!
I thought this adventure was going to end with 3 DNFs in a row to finish the day, but glad to finish with a smiley.
I first walked past the trail on a phone call. Then the GPS didn't want to focus and after searching the 5 most obvious hides found nothing. About to give up, I saw a man made object but it was just rubbish. However from that spot I could see the geocache.
Thanks for the cache Helsinski

Me and my granddaughter are out all day today looking for geocaches. Took a while but we finally found it! Great hiding spot! We took 2 toys and left 2 toys! TFTC!!
From walking to Cutlers beach, climbing sand dunes, now heading back to the car, we were certainly feeling the effects of our adventures today. This thankfully was spotted quickly, and we left some swag for the kids.
Thanks helsinski. Beautiful walk along this track.

Awesome kid friendly cache. First on our outing today to burn off some energy before its starts pouring.
TFTC helsinki. Nicely placed. Lovely walk getting here. Jimmytherat with Noelle04.
Passed a kind of fairy shrine on way to this one, love to know a bit more about that? Thanks Helsinki, India & Tilly. Found with Jimmytherat
D@geo wanted to find this cache, due to it's hidden date.
Walked by it twice before find it.
Found the morning of the Wonthaggi pre new year's event.
On the road trip with D@geo
Thank you for the hide helsinski

Found with gwd.aussie while on a caching weekend down to Wonthaggi to attend gonefishen07 annual Pre New Year events. Rained overnight and in the morning (in contrast to yesterdays heat) so once it started to clear we headed out. This cache fills a gap in my Finds by Hidden Date calendar so was on the wish list for this weekend to find. An enjoyable walk to the gz where after a bit of a search gwd.aussie had cache in hand.

After the lunchtime event I teamed up with xambo4u who is always great company for an afternoon of caching. We had our sights on a group of caches in the heathlands and along the coast Nice to find a decent sized cache I’m sure the kids love it TFTC Helsinki
Found in the second spot we looked. Nice to find a good sized container today.
Thanks for the hide.

Today we found India and Tilli's cache on our travels. A short search ended with Lisette having the eureka moment.
Thanks helsinski for being part of our geocaching fun.

Out for a spot of geocaching during with Earthbound Chief. A nice quick find. TFTC.
Detoured to this one on the way back to the car signed & replaced, great area and will be back again for the cache l didn't have time for... TFTC
Thanks for this cache India and Tilly. It’s well stocked with SWAG and I swapped a set of dice for one of the figures. It was the only thing I had wrapped in a plastic bag. Great cache in one of my favourite locations- the Wonthaggi Heathlands. Although I’ve been in there Heathlands lots of times I’ve never been down this track until a few weeks ago to get a cache further down the track. As I’m only doing one a day in the Shire to enable me to continue a streak, I will do them all eventually. Great, good-sized Cache in good condition. Well worth a favourite point. Keep caching.
We headed back to Cutlers Beach today to try our luck again with a very evil hide with McLookers and beckNmonts. Feeling much fresher after a good sleep we made sure we picked up all the other caches we missed last night on our crazy adventure in the dark. Well today we can say we did find tupperware in the bush
Thanks helsinski for the hide.
Thanks helsinski for the hide.
We thought we would break up our walk along this track by stopping to look for a few caches. This was our first find for the day in the area. We searched a few places until eventually a Triton made the find! Great sized container! TFTC helsinski
I was trying out a "Scooter" as a means of getting to caches beyond my now very limited walking range. This scooter is a small light model that can be easily dismantled to fit in a car boot. To keep the size and weight down there is no springing and small non pneumatic wheels. The ride along the stony roadway was unbelievably rough on scooter and driver. On the side track the ride was much better but it doesn't like sand, tree roots and any uphill more than a very gentle rise. But it got me to two caches I otherwise couldn't have reached. TFTC
22/07/2017 - 12.20pm - No. 879 - 1st for the day - with non-geo-son as driver.
How to get out to do a bit of finding between 'stuff' and more 'stuff'? Hmmm ... ngs = normal Saturday ballet drop off/pickup, then non-normal birthday party run, then a bit of free time ... [;D] before post-party pick up, nap for the younger etc. A bit of quick organisation, equipment organisation & necessary clothing for the weather & off we headed for a couple of caches. We arrived at the closest parking & donned layers to keep the cold wind out then headed off on the walk to do a bit of hunting. We were pleased that the trees reduced the wind trouble a bit Thanks for bringing us here, such a nice stroll, we must come back when the weather is a bit warmer (and less windy).
To the cache -- we followed the finding device & lo & behold there it was. On its end & the lid a little displaced but the necessary parts were just fine & being guarded by a small frog ... very cute ... we had to move little hopper to do the needed log signing but all was good & the job done. The cache was returned to it's location but without wildlife & the lid resecured. All good . Thanks for the cache.

Cache had water inside (which I emptied out) and the notebook was very damp. Cache owner should perhaps consider drying it out.

A quick walk through the heathland with Alansee in the heat of the day to pick-up a few more caches before heading back for a welcome drink and meal with friends at the local watering hole.
Our thanks to helsinski for placing this cache.

An easy find after a nice walk to this point. Thank you to India and Tilli for putting this cache together.
Good find! Filled with great items, but should probably be dried a little bit. TFTC!!
Quick find with tassie expat. The cache was out in the open, container was wet but log was dry. Tassie gave it a pretty good go at drying it and we put it under some protection where we figured gz was. Tftc
Apologies to Lesley Gore...
Nobody knows where my Magellan has gone,
But frmen1 left the same time.
Why was it in his hand,
When the gps is mine...
It's my birthday and I'll cache if I want to, cache if I want to, cache if I want to.
You would cache too if it happened to you...
Yes...I'm out geocaching for my birthday. frmen1 and I though just a quick half dozen would suffice. This was the third one. As frmen1 said, it was out in the open and was wet inside. We did our best to dry it and return to where our gps units said gz was. TNLN TFTC

The baked goods were so delicious, thanks to all that provided me with a belly full of goodness.....
Then it was off to sign a few logs before heading home to the family and a nice hot dinner :) Grabbed a few along the way back to the car

This was a picturesque setting among the lovely trees. This well stocked container was a blast from the past - nice and sturdy and should be good and waterproof too.
Thanks to helsinski.
Thanks to helsinski.
Found at 3:46 PM GAFF1 in the company of my son Alex.
The cache actually was a bit difficult to locate as such caches in the bush are usually placed against some large object like a tree trunk, but this one was in the middle of no-mans-land and the GPSr took a while to hone in on the zone.
Thanks helsinski.
Feedback: This cache deserves to be rated a bit higher than a T of 1.5 considering the track to get here and then having to go into the bush to find it.

Quick find with Muggle friend while in the area. Walked past this on way out didn't realize it was here. I thought this little series was back the other way. Was a little concerned I had hidden something a little close but after checking GPS it was more than 200 mtrs away. Yay don't have to go back and shift it. Thanks for the cache Helen.
We detoured off our walk to collect this smiley off the main track. Only moments before Hera had talked about wanting to find some vintage Tupperware for a cache of her own. So it was a great surprise when this was dragged out of its hiding place.
We admired all the beautiful swaps that Tilly and India had made up. I especially loved the Geo-hair tie to stop you from getting "caching hair". Well done on a beautiful cache that had us "ooh"ing and "aah"ing for ages. The smiles soon turned to looks of horror as Vanessa almost stepped on a snake!!!

Congratulations on a cache full of thoughtful treasures for the kids. They were packaged up so nicely we spent ages admiring it all. And I always appreciate a quality piece of Tupperware in the bush!
This was a really lovely cache. We all loved the time you have put into making these swaps and making them of such good quality. The Tupperware container also gave us some nostalgia too with a few, 'my mum had one of those' comments. On the way back Hera watched me nearly stand on a tiny snake, which sure made me speed up despite a throbbing heel spur. Thanks helsinki and India and Tilli. Great snake, I mean, cache. Cache.
#802 - Day three of my trip down the coast for some caching fun! Today I decided to attempt some hides from a variety of cachers and not Gonefishen07 exclusively.
After having a bit of a late start due to the morning rain coming through, I decided I would go on two walks today and this was apart of the first. Parking at the Rifle Range Wetlands carpark I made my start and was able to pick up 17 out of the 19 finds that I had set out to find before returning to the car.
Thank you to the CO's for the hides, I had a very fun walk with what was a wide variety of caches and hides as the rain slowly stopped. Tftc

Got this cache and a few bug bites (why do they always go for me?) with the GeoBears. TFTC!
Saw this new cache and thought I would be able to get there before work but when I checked the map, I realised that I would not. Mentioned it to Allanb and he said he would attempt it after his other engagements he had on that day. Couldn't believe when you come into work that it had not been found and planned to go out there when I finished knowing the chance of a ftf would be small. Minutes after Helsinski left Allanb text to say he was at GZ with the Paulson and Bek just walked straight up to it after he had been searching for 10 minutes. When I finished work I got Geobears to join me in the hike out there (thankfully we did not park at the entrance but drove down the track, making the find a much shorter walk). We soon got to GZ with RileyB running ahead saying the treasure box is over here. Signed the log and Rileyb took another treasure. Love the cache and your inventive use of recycling tupperware. TFTC and I truly love your geocaching spirit Helsinski. Thank you to India and Tilli for thinking of the little kids when caching.
Got to log this cache twice today, once with Allanb and then with the Geobears. Awesome treasure box, gets a favourite from me for thinking of us little kids. Congrats to the Paulson for the ftf.
We spotted this and headed off hoping for a *FTF* but not really expecting it, especially when there was already another car at the turnoff. However even when we spotted allan b and Riley.B already there, we didn't give up hope. Bek and I headed off into the area and Allan and Riley zoomed back to for a close finish. Bek's eyes made the find quickly and then her and Riley debated over the treasures they wanted. Looking forward to using the FTF prize. Thanks Helen for a great cache.
Spent a good 10 minutes looking for this with Riley.B . Tree coverage and a mobile app was making it hard to pinpoint the spot. We were joined by The Paulsons where Bek made the discovery within a couple minutes. TFTC
