I was searching for a bit when a young couple pulled up and parked behind me. I thought they might be cachers but no, they had lost a mobile phone at that exact spot and stopped to search for it. I chatted to them a bit, helped them search, then figuring theyd be there a while I decided to move on and come back later. Just as I was about to get into the car they found the phone, and a wallet along with it. After they drove off it was back to the search and I found the cache, now signed and returned as found. Then a HUGE March fly decided to harass me endlessly (dont they know its August, not March!! ) It even followed me into the car and I had a devilish time getting it out.I enjoyed finding the cache and thank you so much for placing it in this great location.

Apparently, Im not very good at this geocaching thing.I search for about 30 minutes. Then came up empty. If the ratings are accurate, then I have no clue. I did not search on the other side of the road, so if it is there, then my GPS wasnt behaving today. Oh well, you sure cant find them all. But I sure did enjoy that no through road.

Headed out and about with the Slow Punctures today. The plan didn't go to plan, which was good, because we had a great time despite the plan!!! This was one of many caches grabbed on the drive from Brisbane to Landsborough to Maleny and on to Mooloolah and back home. Epic day, and thanks for making it better by providing some caches to find!

AustraliaA country that has fascinated me for a long time. But the distance to get there was just as great as the desire to drive there. So it was dreamed but not implemented. But then our friend nalfion moved again. And this time to Down Under. That gave the go-ahead to plan a little more firmly for the first ideas and fantasies. The bosses were asked about a longer vacation and then we went to the travel agency with our rough ideas. For such a complex thing we wanted to have support. And after a few appointments there, the basic structure was in place.During our summer holidays we went to Sydney via Singapore, where we spent 2 days. 2 days in Sydney city and then we went with a small camper van with the whole family via Katoomba to Cairns. Our friend lives in Adelaide so ended up staying there for a few more days at the hotel before heading back to Germany without any lengthy stops via Melbourne and Singapore.A wonderful holiday that at least brought us a little closer to this huge country and gave us many great memories. This famous Zoo was planned since our planning going to Australia started. And it was so great even if the weather was more than just rainy. We skipped the Africa section, those animals are quiet common in german Zoos around here, but really enjoyed the local flora and fauna. Our campground for the night was just around the corner and we had a little rain break to walk up here. Thanks for the cache.

Out and about with MummaBear & the cubs exploring the wonders of the Sunny Coast and surrounding areas.

The goal for the day was to work towards this months challenge, so the main focus was to find caches with high favourite points and any others we’d come across.

We had a great day out and I’m sure we’ll be back again soon as we’re not even close to completing this months challenge.

Thanks for bringing us here.

Out today to keep some caches to help with my "Hidden Dates" challenge.
This is cache 1 for the day.
Drove in along the road, watching out to see if anything would come the other way. Fortunately not. To GZ, and geo-dad found tis tricky one before I did.
Awesome cache - love this.
Signed and returned to its hiding spot. Thanks for the cache.

Willis007 and I had the opportunity to head up to the sunshine coast for the day and collect a few caches before the night time event and the GIFF presentation. We were looking at targeting the Landsborough area and then the pelican waters caches before heading to Coolum. We were pretty much on track all day with just a few targets that will have to wait until next time. Overall we got in a few labs finished off and a fun few caches. It was a long but profitable day, and a lot of chats and fun along the way, thanks to all the CO’s for the hides.

Working our way north we came across this one and what a fantastic drive around. I have seen this type of hide before so it was an easy find for me today. Although the cache was a little different and nicely constructed. We signed the log and replaced all the parts as found and moved on the next one in the area, thank you.

Another wonderful undiscovered old road and another wonderfully constructed case. I checked a few spots before standing back and having a think and tried one more spot and there it was. All was good until I was replacing the cache and a large spider emerged from the hiding spot onto my hand. I will probably remember this one for a while now! TFTC dickbev

Loving my early finishes on Fridays! Today, Mr CuriousQuest and I headed towards Landsborough to find a few caches. In my early caching days, I had tried to find this one, without luck. Today, I was determined to find it. We searched for quite some time before Mr CuriousQuest located the cache in a spot we had both checked. Log signed, cache returned to its spot and we headed off to the next one. TFTC

IolantheK and I., both half full of head colds, decided to go for a drive up near Landsborough.

Spent a while looking for this one. It wasn't till IolantheK's keen eye spotted something tell tail like and in seconds she had the cleverly concealed container [^]

TFTC dickbev Cool a fav point from me [^]

Both T-Tech and I have a lingering bad cold, and are suffering cabin fever, so today we went for a drive to relieve the boredom, and to collect caches with gemstones for me to complete the Mystery at the Museum souvenirs [^] There's a neat group around Landsborough and Mount Mellum which should provide the ones I need.

T-Tech liked the drive through on the old road. We did a bit of searching, then read the Description, and some logs, but it was really only being very thorough that gave us the find. Very sneaky indeed! TFTC, dickbev. Pleased to get almost 7 months unloved-ness here.

23-Oct-18
A gorgeous spring morning was spent driving around the hinterland roads between Beerwah, Landsborough, Peachester and Maleny exploring areas we hadn't visited before.

Arriving here we weren't sure what to expect, and after quite a bit of scratching around, poking and prodding nothing was jumping out at us. I must admit I did get a bit distracted while wandering around aimlessly searching, and noticed the granite laid here for road base was very sparkly with quite a high quartz content, and also quite a few of the rocks had xenoliths included in them which is quite interesting.

A PAF was needed to narrow down the search area, and without giving anything away the cache was able to be retrieved with some effort, more than was probably intended. Pleased to make a find here, container was returned to its rightful place.

A weekend away in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland was planned, though any particular geocache finds were not. This morning started with the drive up from Brisbane to Mount Beerwah for a climb to the top. It seems I miscalculated that terrain and my confidence on such hills and we only made it about half way. Ah well, we headed off to pitch the tent just outside Landsborough instead. That didn't take long, nor did checking out the views and so we figured we should go for a short drive before dark and I figured why not see what geocaches are nearby. This was closest!

I can totally see why they detoured this part of the original road. It's bendy as! And the surface has deteriorated significantly since then! We trundled along and I always ponder what lays behind those National Park gates and what's down there to be seen. GZ came close according to my phone so we parked and piled out. Not much reading for this, just figured where to look. As it turned out, it was in the first place I checked.

The hide came out and there was a comment of 'you're sure that's the geocache?'. Yes I am! I was super impressed with the detail and effort that has gone into the construction of this container. All in good condition, I signed my name and carefully replaced as found. As the places you visit while geocaching. Thanks for bringing me here dickbev Smile

We did the largest route available in Dularche NP and this brought us quite close to this cache. So we went there and started searching. There were quite a few places that could serve as a decent hiding place. Therefore it took some time to find it: it is always the last place one looks ...
Thanks for showing us the place and for maintaining the cache.

**Smilie #5192**

We decided to clear up a few more caches around the Sunshine hinterland today.
It's always nice to get out away from the madding crowds!

We spent the first few minutes wandering around trying to get the compass to settle.
Once it did we agreed on where we thought GZ was & shortly after I came up with the cache.
Nasty little critter indeed! LOL ...
Made our mark & replaced as found.

At this rate we're going to run out of favourite points!

Easter Saturday. The Slow Puncture's were out with their rare caching friend, Adriano76. Rare because whilst he signs the logs, you will not find his presence online. He is just there for the thrill of the find.

This one was really good, to be able to experience the old road and see what getting up the hill was like prior to the straight uphill run that is currently there. When we got to GZ though, we made life ahrd for ourselves, and an extended period was spent searching until Kerry got inventive and found it in one of the few places it could realistically be.

This was the 10th of 20 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***dickbev***, for showing us this place. Smile

Last cache for the day, we need to head home and get organised, school is back tomorrow:) At least for one kid, the other still has another day off cause 8 weeks clearly wasn't long enough!!!!

Took the old road in, cool little road, pulled up at gz and went in for the look. Geo-hubby did most of the muddy search here, due to rain, as he was the only one sensible enough with the appropriate footwear, me I don't want to get my sandles dirty, geo-son doesn't want to get futsal boots dirty and geo-daughter hadn't even realised we had stopped the car!

The three of us search around, had the right spot but didn't work for us, did a paf and we soon had it in the bag, so to speak. Great cache and hide, dropping a fp:)

While searching the area we never noticed the sign until we left...hopefully it MAY not be monitoring today;)

Found on my third visit after, I confess, a little advice from a previous finder. But I still made it hard for myself! This time I approached from the other direction, thinking that the road is continuous because it was last time I traveled it - and yes indeed it is - but, having been here before, I didn't have my GPS on. What I didn't realise is... there are TWO places that look just like GZ... So I stopped at the first one I came to and spent quite a few minutes in the blazing sun getting too close to nature trying to find a cache that was totally not there. Once I woke up to a subtle difference between the place I was searching and the place that the GPS points to, I toddled off to the right spot and had a quick find. What a great cache construction! Such attention to detail, loved it. TFTC dickbev.

13-Nov-16
When we arrived at GZ the GPS was bouncing harder than a guy on steroids working the door at a night club. We were running all over the place following the GPS as past logs said this cache was tough. Somewhere along the line I scratched my leg and didn't even feel it. Luckily we had a $10 ALDI first aid kit in the car which saved my life because I was at deaths door.

My wife showed no compassion and thought it was funny. I put on a brave face but I was crying inside. I know you should wear long pants when caching in the bush but after you've had a leg wax you want your pins on show. As I type this log over a cheap Sauvignon Blanc the wound no longer hurts (except every time I hit a key).

The cache hide was excellent and a favourite point awarded for the cleverness and donation of skin. It took some effort to get the cache out but we loved it.

In the heat of the moment the geowife and I looked at each other with amorous intentions, all alone, sweaty and wounded and then decided to do what all married couples do - get back into the car air conditioning. tftc

Stopped off here after spending a bit of time at the Bomb Shelter ( 3rd time and still not finding it ) so after reading in the logs here that the hide was a good one I figured I'd be in for another wasted 20 minutes but seems luck was on my side here and a 5 minute search (Most of that waiting for GPS to settle ) and the sneaky hide was located Smile.
