Out for a drive in the country on a sunny day with geocaches Nice to have If riding shotgun and the chat was entertaining as we stumbled from cache to cache. A highlight was the fizzy cola by the river on a rest stop. Prickles in the socks not so good.
Finally got around to clearing the map along the Gunnedah Road

First cache for the day as I leave Tamworth for the Ridge, couldn’t get the last two caches for roadworks.TFTC
I'm leaving the new Mrs Mister JD at home while I go to care for my aged Mum in Brisbane for a couple of weeks while my brother visits his grandkids in Sydney. I'm looking forward to seeing
mum but sad to be leaving my wife at home. I'm taking four days for the trip because
I want to find caches, and long trips are way in my past due to my crook back. Caching is ideal as I can stop and start practically as I like. Today's leg is home to Dubbo. I got off to a late start, and found the traffic out of Canberra was horrendous, so I took a back road just out of town, and finished up doing part of a power trail before I got to Yass. I really enjoyed that road, but took too long and found only a few more on the rest of the day. I did stop quite a few times for my back and to give Sophie GeoSchnauzer a bit of a run. Sophie is a bit sad, we have just lost her lifetime companion, Oscar GeoSchnauzer at the ripe old age of fifteen and a half.
This is day 2 of my journey, driving from Dubbo to Tamworth via less traveled ways. We started in Dubbo, collecting caches, fuel and supplies, then headed to Dunedoo, then on to Coolah, Breeza and Carroll. finding caches and a couple of delightful power trails along the way.
Today is day 3 of my trip. Starting in Tamworth, I'm doing some trails and interesting caches around Tamworth, then heading for Stanthorpe. My old Dad used to tell me I wouldn't know what day it was. I never believed him, but now there is evidence. Today, on the 18th April, I signed all my logs with 17th of April. Oh well, he will be having a good chuckle from his perch in heaven ...
I've decided to do a string of caches back towards Gunnedah a little way. This is the first one, an easy grab afyer wading through long grass and weeds.
Find no 2 of 29 today. Thanks, Whitey Wiskas

Not sure what these prickles are, but they are every where at the moment. Even saw a lot at Coolah a couple of weeks back. I got soaked doing this cache, boots, jeans and shirt. Found the cache though. TFTC.

Tamworth and Amrmidale Trip March 2020. Day 3. I headed north with Fitzy_1965 along the New England Highway towards Tamworth. Today we headed out to do caching trails around Tamworth to the North. The day was mostly roadside caches, but they were all of differing levels of challenges, especially when you have to deal with Farmers Friends and Stinging Nettles at almost ever cache.
Thanks.

20,489. Found with albida33 during a meander up to and around the Tamworth and Armidale regions.
Day 3 of our trip. Headed out after breakfast for what turned out to be a big days caching. We aimed to hit some of the trails around the region. Next stop of the day, and we came up with a quick find. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one.
TFTC Whitey Wiskas !!

It's the last day of the school holidays & a week off for me & I'm driving home after dropping my daughter back in Orange.
This was an opportunistic find on the way home to break up the drive a little. Quick find, sadly no plane activity while I was here. TFTC.

Day 4 of the visit to Tamworth with joojoo57. Today we are gathering caches around Tamworth city, as this afternoon I have to fly to Sydney.
Time for a run out to Bective and Somerton to gather the new caches that have appeared since joojoo was last here, plus a couple extra for me. Better stop to get this one as I'll be flying out of the here later this afternoon! A quick find. TFTC, Whitey Wiskas.

Hi there Whitey Wiskas.
Today was a drive from Tamworth to Duri, and then out to Lake Keepit, logging caches along the way. The caches we found were all well placed, and the for the most part had pretty accurate coordinates. We can see that a lot of thought has gone into the placement of all the caches we found today.
All up we found 23 caches & DNF'd 0 in this cache run. Thanks for placing the caches. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** A gold coin.
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Find No: 6481. Visiting from Newcastle, staying with friends at Ogunbil, lots of new caches since we were here last, thanks for the cache Whitey Wiskas!!
Quickly grabbed when we spotted the shiney lid. TN left a penny. SL. Thanks Whitey
I have had a fabulous day today. It started with Pa and I exploring Keepit Dam (grabbing the caches of course) and then I commandeered the car and drove into Tamworth finishing the caches I hadn't already found. After lunch I headed north to see how many of Whitey Wiskas caches I could find.
I only had 1 DNF for the day and that was offset by finding a cache I hadn't solved yet!
Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for us to find. It certainly adds enjoyment to our travels.
All logs were signed as SG as I often do in small caches to save space.

The Port Macquarie airport was recently upgraded to handle larger aircraft, but non of the airlines have used the facility! We must still be a small town.
Thanks Whitey Wiskas.

Quite correct I could not get the lid off either. I have replaced the cache.
Neither I or my muggle passenger could get the lid off. It stuck fast for us. Photograph attached to prove I found it. TFTC Whitey Wiskas.
Found at 0843. Our last day in Tamworth had an enjoyable couple of days geocaching around the a district. Had to search for this one a bit then spotted it trying to look like a discarded stubby, TFTC.
Found by Mary & David at 1425. We'd just left the GeoPrado and an aircraft took off. Perfect timing. Then an RAAF Orion took off as well. Felt like a RAAF salute. We later noticed four RAAF Hornets parked near the hangars. Very special. The container had a lot of water in it. We emptied it, but the log is sodden. Our thanks to Whitey Wiskas.
A quick find and a little plane took off while we were here. Noticed some bigger planes at the terminal but they were all propeller ones and no jets were visible.
Thanks.
Thanks.
