Reperio 12:26The fourth and final day of caching around the Yass and Goulburn regions, and with a little time before needing to head home, I hit up some of the ones closer to town. While the fog was thick this morning, it soon lifted and it was fantastic to have some beautiful sunshine after 2-3 days of rain. With not a lot of movement around town this morning, most of the caches were found muggle free. A great day to be out caching. As I approached the general area I wondered if I was going to be able to search for this cache as there appeared to be a party going on. Then I realised that it was two carloads of geopals who were also on their way to Bathurst. After an unsuccessful search, the cache was replaced with the COs permission and now all our names appear in the replacement log. Thanks again Joshwa27 for another contribution to our game.

Long weekend trip to Bathurst. Barb2e and I are collecting caches in smaller towns on the way. Whilst we were searching, first Domsky and then SmittenGranny pulled up and joined the search. We eventually determined that the cache was missing and replaced it. We had prior permission from the CO. Very interesting history. The actual national park is closed. So we could only get to the gates. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

We solved this puzzle on our drive today, and got the green light from the checker which meant we stopped at a likely place with a good pull-in area. Stopping the car, we spied Isopeda and Barb2e. Barb2e had found this cache on a previous visit, and they had already been searching for quite a while. A short time later a third car arrived and it was Smittengranny.Despite a good search from everyone, this one seems to have gone missing and there is evidence of the ground having been disturbed by previous rains or flooding. We replaced the container according to the heat and all the names are now added. Thanks Joshwa27Domsky

A quick find on weekend road trip to Narrabri and back. TFTC.

30-Nov-22
Sadly the caves were shut today.

We headed into the flooded eastern states for a week of geocaching fun. The mission was Frying Pan. The only December 2000 placed cache remaining in Australia. All other choices for this month are international. Traveling in style and comfort we selected the next cache on merit and forward movement. Some back tracking was required in the wettest areas. Wildlife seen included a lyre bird, king parrot and a single leech. Mozzies were a pest. Caches were found and signed. Wet logs were wet. Water does that. Numerous TOTTs were employed.

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to NSW and back with Freddo.

Our main target was ‘Frying Pan’ in the Chichester State Forest, near Barrington Tops north of Newcastle.

We allowed ourselves a week to travel there and back, taking a circuitous route through Victoria and NSW, camping each night and finding a range of caches of interest along the way.

Rains over the past few months meant a few detours along the way and plenty of water about, restricting access to some caches and camping areas. Many of the roads were quite chopped up with potholes and the mosquitoes were plentiful! But we had a good run with the weather, with just the odd shower, but mostly fine, warm and overcast.

Thanks Joshwa27 for the puzzle and the cache.

A lot of wandering around here, there and back and forth. Only when I stepped back a bit, I was able to spot it. TFTC

Day 3 of our 2 week road trip south from Brisbane and so far the trip has been a nightmare. On the first day we had to find a route around flood waters which meant a long detour via the coast roads before making it to Coonabarabran for our first night. The second day quickly descended into disaster as I managed to bog my vehicle hunting only our second cache of the trip, and could not be extracted until 7pm that night, This meant an unscheduled stop over in Dubbo last night and after some work this morning cleaning the car up from its muddy encounter, we were underway again.

It was cold and drizzly when we arrived here. I blame that on my poor navigation which saw me pull up the car in a completely wrong spot still a little way up the road. Once I found the correct place to start I jumped out to commence the hunt. Round and round I went searching all the obvious features in a gradually expanding radius. With no success I stopped to read some logs. Using some information in the most recent found log I stepped back and almost straight away spotted the hide. Cache was safe and sound and logbook dry. Sneaky spot, I had walked past it thinking it'd be in big trees with a fork. Enjoyed the puzzle but definitely make sure you get the correct spelling for the original river.

With COVID19 locking everyone down for so long, a MUCH overdue geocaching mission was welcomed. FurfacesLL #1 and myself decided to head towards Bathurst and attack some of the TRLT caches and see how far we can go. Spoke to a few of the CO's prior to heading up to see if we could assist with any maintenance that was required, so we went prepared with some camo containers and some fresh log books. We had a wonderful weekend stretching the legs and enjoying the country side.

Whilst heading North, this one came up on the radar, would be rude to not collect right? No issues with the solve or the hide.

Thanks for the hide Joshwa27 Big Grin And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun weekend out and about the TRLT trails and others Big Grin

With the COVID19 restrictions lifting, we decided to head to the Bathurst area this long weekend on a Geomission with Rapidlywild.

We hit the road early and resisted the urge to stop along way. We decided to attack the TRLT trail and others around the area. We had a great four days, only a few DNF’s but mostly smiley's, and have left plenty for another adventure.

Lovely area to cache in and we look forward to coming back for some more fun and laughs.

Thanks for the hide Joshwa27

Left Canberra on the 2nd January to escape the smoke and spend a few days caching with Joolay and KittyKatch. Logs signed as CC for Capital Crunchers and a great little round trip has taken us on part of the TRLT (The Roads Less Travelled) series. Great to spend some time in the back blocks especially as a lot of this country was home to some of my ancestors. Tftc

I solved this before my trip but I searched for ages before finding it. I don’t know why it was easy once you looked in the right direction.

On a Geocaching trip from Canberra chasing Counties. Very smoky start and was glad to be out of the smoke for awhile but I can already see it ahead. Still glad to have another county down. TFTC

Water setting up camp and doing a tour of a cave, I tried to answer the few questions I missed this morning before heading out on this spontaneous camping/caving/caching trip. But then realised I had to drive back out of the valley to get reception for a couple of answers.
A quick find once at the right spot. Thanks for the cache.

Today saw us heading off for a long ago planned tripped, out past Dubbo and then West. A good number of counties, a few virtuals, lots of oldies, some good DT and others of special interested targeted along the way.

With GreyHams picked up we were on our way, Bogan Shire our furtherest destination... Maybe! We drove past many along the way but managed the caches we wanted with a couple of DNF thrown in.

A beautiful sunny day and a pleasant drive through the countryside. Stopped a few times with the locals all friendly and nice interesting characters. Thanks for the cache.

24-Aug-19
This weekend has been planned for some time...postponed once but not again. That trip is Canberra to Bogan shire and back again... hoovering up as many counties as possible.

So Aquilus1 and I set off a little late, due to other familial duties, but we made good time stopping many times to make sure we have all counties and interesting oldies/DT.

Sorry for the generic logs.... we have a lot to log!

We are always happy to be able to tick off some more caches by Joshwa27 that are on our "to do" list. The ones here at Tuena were not difficult to find and many thanks go to the CO for placing so many caches around the country which encourages us to go caching and exploring. This cache was found quite exposed, so when it was replaced it was given some local camo to protect it a bit more.

Last minute drive in the country with fitzy_1965 and DK had us heading out to Blayney and back. Such a glorious day to be out in the fresh air and doing a bit of caching whilst we were at it.

Had this one pre-solved making for a quick park and grab.....well quick enough once the GPS decided to settle.

12959. Found on a quick run up from Goulburn before tonights event.

With a few hours up my sleeve before the event tonight I headed north to grab some caches within a reasonable drive. Next find for the day. I have slowly been collecting many of the History of XXX caches as I cache around various parts of NSW. Pre-solved so I drove up to my calculated GZ. Checked the obvious spot for a quick find. Signed the log, returned the cache, then headed off back to goulburn.

Thanks again Joshwa27 !! Another one crossed off the list !

#4,820

Our original trip plan had us going south after the History of Mt David cache, then working our way back up to here. But with the State forest currently being closed for logging, we had to change our plans. So we cut across and picked up again here.

Nice quick find outside a property with a familiar name.

Thanks Smile

After much deliberation and comparing of diaries, The Rats, Steeba and I eventually found a weekend that we could all commit to completing the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, along with some caching in Bathurst (which was actually the scene of our first combined geocaching trip nine years ago!). A last minute trip overseas for me cropped up; but I arranged it so that I could fly home just in time to not miss out on this caching extravaganza.

Friday night we headed to Abercrombie River via Goulburn (from Wollongong), and camped at the campsite there. Saturday saw us drive the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, ending up in Bathurst right on dinner time. We then found some local caches before staying at a friend's house for the night. On Sunday we headed back out to Oberon for some more caches and then did a couple of loops around Bathurst. We had originally planned to stay Sunday night, but once we clicked over 300 finds for the weekend the inspiration started to wane, and we all agreed to turn our heads for home.

I have caved in this area only once before. We made a diversion to here before heading along the Trail.

Cheers

26-Nov-16
Nothing beats a "road trip". My find count had been suffering from the "rest of life" getting in the way of caching so along with Steeba and Hoojar a plan was hatched to go "beyond the Great Divide". The 2nd half of the TRLT looked to be the obvious solution. Under perfect skies and with gps loaded we hit the dirt roads.

Our first full day of caching had us weaving our way along the TRLT to a point where we completed the lower section of the series in one day. This half is contrastingly different to the other, but still very spectacular. Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches we found along the way. Apologises for the template style log but with 300 finds for the weekend each container begins to look the same.

TFTC Wink

26-Nov-16
The Rats, Hoojar and myself made for the wider Bathurst area for a weekend finding some of TRLT series of caches.

The whole area was quite green and recent rains had meant the grass had exploded everywhere and was 3 or 4 foot high around many of the caches.

Not only did we find plenty of TRLT, there were many 'History of' caches found amongst others. Thanks to all the hiders. TFTC!

On a quiet weekend I decided go for a drive in the country. I mostly spent the day driving from Goulburn to Blayney. I managed to see many great spots along the way before spending the night at Blayney. On Monday I headed home with only a few cache stops along the way.

Thanks.

Another day run with LuckyL10n up around these parts to grab a few of these neat History of caches. Had a lot of fun researching the info and learning a little about the area. Once at GZ, the cache was found after a short search.

Thanks Joshwa27……great little series.

#4709 - 11:50; Off on another day run with Sol de lune. This time we are headed to Blayney via Goulburn and Crookwell and many small towns in between. A few more in the 'History of.....' series are on the radar, along with any other caches along our planned route. We had passed through Tuena headed for Trunkey Creek and this cache provided a nice quick park and grab on the way through. I shall have to come back for a visit to the caves once they dry out! Leaving Canberra for Bathurst, we decided to "go direct" and pick up some caches north of the Hume Highway.

Yes, we did our google search, and enjoyed the history of the revolt and the subsequent hunt and trial. What a cruel past history we have!

The cache was found as described and is in good order.

Found at 2.30pm on 2nd January 2016. TFTC.
