We also had a good poke around but could not locate the hint item. The area is so overgrown that the item is not visible at all. It is high time for a CO visit; maybe to place the hint item a little more out in the open.
It appears that the cache is gone and the area is no longer suitable for a geocache.
Had a good poke around for ages, unfortunately not there for us today. Thanks anyway, hopefully will be back at some other time.
In Akaroa for a couple of days with the family so obviously couldn’t resist in finding a few caches. Thanks for the cache

Had a quick look but nothing found. Lots of prickles hidden in the grass though, ouch! Gave up looking as was getting too many prickles.
We are at level 2 so geocaching is permitted.

Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I will be doing my bit to #slowthespread. From 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020.
The virus can survive on plastic and paper for longer than three days
If you would like a geocaching related activity to do while you are observing the lockdown, I welcome messages about how to solve my puzzle caches - I am happy to give hints and tutorials so you have lots of new caches to find when this is over.

Ts quite depressing not finding a cache when previous visitors recode a nice quick finfpd! We tried various possibilities but came away empty handed. . No worries, we are enjoying our drive anywaybb
Another day out in Akaroa. Grabbing a few caches while seeing the place.
Great to be back after 8 years.

On our way to the Hinewai Reserve we pulled over to grab this cache. It was a quick find. TFTC.
Today we made it a little confused. The schedule was first to stop at the heritage park. Second jar jar binks, third the 21st christmas. As nobody was looking for the caches we stopped by random at #3. So this was #1. Then Mrs neggrgrees walked down to #2 while Mr neggrgees made a u-turn. But he couldn't find Mrs neggrgees, cos she was at #2 out of sight near the road. Mr neggrgees realized that he was to far about 200 m after the cache. In this time Mrs neggrgees send a message where she is. Mr neggrgees made the next u-turn, stopped at #2, waited for Mrs neggrgees, drove up to #3, made the next u-turn and went down to #1. Here we made no fault again. After logging we drove up, passing #2 and #3 and finish.

I was out with BaildEd visiting some caches in the Akaroa area.
A log is normally lying down but when upright it is called a post.
Cheers for the cache.

We parked at the nearby gate and took the short walk to the GZ. A bit of searching and Wazza came up with the goods. TFTC
1 November 2019 15:55. As the container had a hole in it from being squashed I have replaced the container with the log book that was currently in use. It looked like the original log was mush at bottom. Hopefully now it will survive for a bit longer.

During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!
Today we have found the cache "21st Christmas hide (Canterbury)".
Nosynel, thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!

No idea where this one is supposed to be. Not the prettiest place for a cache anyway, so I rather abandoned search and moved on.
Coords had us in the middle of a small fenced off area. We looked further afield at some other likely spots but no luck today.
Discovering the Banks Peninsula, we stopped from time to time to log some caches. This one was a quick find.

Looked everywhere but obviously didn't see for looking. GPS all over the place.
Heading on up the hill from the Heritage Park; I realised I had overshot a previous cache & pulled over to look at the details - pleasantly surprised that I had parked right by this one.
Although it was wet inside the container & on the outside of the plastic bag, all was well with the log.
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, Nosynel.

Mrs Rincewind is away in Napier for a few days and I had to get Rincewind Jr back to Wainui by 9am. With the rest of the day free what was I to do? Go caching of course! This was one of 37 finds for the day (& a couple of DNFs )
One day I'll learn to read the logs *before* I get to the GZ. Yes, the container has seen better days, no I didn't have a replacement with me. Bugger. At least it was an easy find - I spotted the hint item from a distance and it was just a formality after that.

I continued on up the rather steep little road with the intention of getting the "jarjar" cache, as I'd focused on the higher favourited caches to help boost the "planet souvenirs quest", but didn't spot a park near it, so pulled in here to walk back to it. It was only then that I realized there was a cache here too.
A cyclist had pulled into the same area just ahead of me, but wandering around pretending to take photo's made for an easy retrieval. The container is a little squashed though.
Thanks for putting this here Nosynel

Had visions of the car door snapping off such was the wind along this road. Found the hint object with the slightly squished cache under it. Thanks for the cache.

What the hell - Christmas hens!?
All was clear, no festive chicks around today, and the log was soon located.

Cache was completely waterlogged. Dried the log on the hot bonnet of the car. Signed and returned dry. I've added a spare log in a plastic bag just in case it's needed later on. Great views from here. TFTC
While the Christmas spirit is still in the air,
I might as well pick this cache up. The cache was easily located with the reference to the hint location. Crossed the tall grass and picked up the cache. TFTC!

We had the great chance to travel around New Zealand during six weeks and were able to see wonderful cities, landscapes and meet nice Kiwis. While staying in NZ many cache owners gave us the opportunity to search for very well hidden treasures and we thank them very much for preparing and maintaining them.

Nice place to pull over with plenty of parking and a quick find for us here. Found with AorakiSheep
Day #2 of our Banks Peninsula weekend, and the plan is to find a few more caches in Akaroa before heading back to Chch via the Summit Rd. Unfortunately low cloud on the tops made visibility very poor, so for safety sake, and because it was very unpleasant, we changed plans once we reached the Okains Bay turn off. Will have to return in finer weather to complete the Summit Rd circuit.
The last find (and views) before we ascended into the clouds. I was surprised at the CO name on the logbook, but reading back through previous logs, I see the cache was replaced by Zeke and George last year. Good to get another Christmas hide under out belts. TFTC.

#14320. Always great to find a cache with excellent parking on steep, windy hill roads. TFTC.
We decided to head over to the Peninsula with daughter for a bit of caching for the day. It was really windy!! In some spots, it felt like we are going to be blown away. Luckily, we were only blown away by the fun we were having!! Great day, and a big thank you to all the CO for placing and maintaining the caches along our route!!!

I hadn't had a propper big geocaching day since probably before the baby was born - somehow Bethany doesn't seem to enjoy geocaching as much as I do! It's always slower with nowhere near as many finds!! So a plan was hatched to get my fix - mum and I would go out caching, and baby would have some daddy bonding time!! Haha! However even though this plan was hatched at the beginning of the year, it's taken us till April to execute as mum is always busy!
So finally today was the day. A bit of a late start, and we had to be home before dinner, but still managed to get 46 caches! A few DNF, but heaps of kms travelled! Nice to make some steps towards clearing a little more of my closest 80km to home PQ out!
Took really long - the log is almost overgrown with grass.

My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. Zara stays put at Little River, so with trusty steed Toby, the Seagnoid navigating via phone & scribe and I delegated to log blogger and driver, we are off to explore Akaroa. OK With Akaroa bagged & tagged its the back road home.
Another one bagged. Lovely views. No Xmas presents here. Added a couple of trinkets. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 3: Akaroa to Akaroa.
For a moment I thought this was a brand new cache - there was a brand new log inside. And it was empty, so I added an emerald. All it needs now is some wrapping paper!

I found where the cache should have been but wasn't. I considered how far I had come to be here, and how far you would have to come to bring a small cache, so I did the only honorable thing possible and replaced the missing cache for you. - Zeke & George of Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA
There has been some new fencing. Wondering if the cache is moved or, more probably, the chilly wind cooled our brain to Below Finding Level.
Thanks for bringing us here and challenging us anyway.

I found the said hint object but no cache. Picked it up, gave it a good shake, explored it, looked around on the ground but found nothing. Looked around for another hint object but couldn't see any. Will have to put it on my watch list.
We found a couple of the early ones in the series as we drove to Christchurch from Hokitika a few days ago. Mrs Sobad was happy to add a third to the finds as her cousin was driving her to and from Akaroa. A fun hide in a nice spot.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Now geocaching on our last full day in New Zealand before we fly to Australia on Friday, April 22 - we found 15 today which makes about 200 for our time in New Zealand - would have found more but too busy sightseeing
Like the container - a favourite

Together with schrek77 I traveled two months through New Zealand and Australia . First we traveled with a camper for 6 weeks the North and South Island of New Zealand . Then we went to Melbourne where we visited the city and the surrounding area . then we went to closing in the north of Australia . During this time we visited several geocaches and were brought to very nice places through this partially . We also had the opportunity to visit some very old caches , which extremely pleased us . TFTC. Monday night madness with TW and TG was an opportunity not to be missed. We took a little drive on Banks Peninsula, with the hope of finding a few caches. It was a beautiful still evening with a big night sky showing off the Milky Way, fish jumping in the sea and logs to sign.
We even located some prefect spots for MacPacMum to place her unpublished caches - can't believe she didn't use them!!
Thanks for the fun gentlemen.

Monday Night Mad Mission with TheWanglers.....and purdiepurdie joined in the fun. We decided to head Akaroa way to clear up a few caches......a fantastic evenings adventure that ended up getting us home in the wee small hours of Tuesday morning! Great fun. Logs signed in various shorthanded and underhanded manners depending on the mood of the evening.
Quick find and sign on the way past on a rather mad & fun evening. Looping around a bit of the summit road to grab a couple caches then drop back down to Duvauchelle and onwards to home. Nice spot. Cheers.

Out on a Mad Monday Mission with purdiepurdie and Team_Gaters. We got wind via FB that there were plans afoot to publish some caches in 'them thar hills'. The plan was to go and play in and around the hills of Akaroa. We headed off in the early evening into the sunset with high hopes and dreams. We had a blast with park n grabs, and with climbs to lovely vantage points high in the hills. The weather was wonderful and the stars plentyful. We clocked up 200+ kms and had some laughs and a lot of good memories. Good fun. Quick find it is what you should have with eggs.
Thanks for the cache Nosynel.

Magnificent views from this cache. Thanks for bringing us here. Love the container...
Super little cache, thank you N. Just how do you find these places to hide. The exterior item was just made for the "container." An horrendous wind up here, but calm down in the water. Cruise ships in view. .
Quickly found but we must have looked odd sitting there, signing the Log Book as 3 cars went past. What must they thing we were doing..TFTH

WAHOO another {FTF} on the way. Surprised that was still unfound today. Nice view over the harbour to the cruise ship anchored there. Cheers.
Nice day for a drive to Akaroa for lunch. The Summit Road road was fun, very cloudy with low visiblity. Plenty of cyclists too to watch out for.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.
