Happened to be in the neighbourhood on a cruise ship today doing a medical evacuation. Very sad for that person but took the time to try to answer the questions from the unique perspective on board.

WOO HOO - 'Fish, Forests and Fiery Volcanoes' has been my 15th find on my Great Trip Into NSW 2024. I wouldn't have found this Park area, viewing platform and the stunning view if it wasn't for finding this cache. The viewing platform was quite busy today so I went for a wonder around and found a spot closer to the ocean to watch for whales - of which there just happend to be a couple playing not far off the shore - awesome. Thanks Calypso62 for setting up and maintain this cache and thanks for the geology lesson. (Answers to the Cache questions have been messaged to the CO - logging in anticipation.)PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my caching today

#19760 - 8:07:00 AM; Day fourteen and last of a road trip with the geohoney, taking the long way inland to Adelaide from the National Capital and back again via the coast. Made it to Eden last night and after a nice meal and a good nights sleep, we were ready to head for home. Did a short caching mission around Eden, including this cache, before grabbing some breakfast and hitting the road for home. No problems here as I enjoyed the view and gathered the required information, which whas been sent off to the CO who came back with a quick OK. TFTC Calypso62 Smile

Wow what a history at this location, Tom was a traitor! ;P. Recent events mean this could be the southerly end of our current trip. And what a way to end in Eden. Off to Yowaka cascades, aslings beach and gravity mtb track to top off this trip

This was a lovely location to have an earth cache. The foliage may take over eventually but we were still able to see what we needed to.I entered into quite a long conversation with a couple that had lived here their whole lives. It was very interesting and I look forward to coming back and venturing to some of the places they spoke of. Thanks for this great location.

07-Apr-24
GT37 and I are still returning home although we should already be there. We decided to drop in here as the rain has stopped an hour or two ago . . . . . at last. We were here quite a bit longer than we expected as GT37 had an interesting conversation with some elderly locals. They were very informative about the local attractions and those less known locations. This was a great lookout with extensive views. We are hoping to come back here when we have more time to look around. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.

Find # 8,523 for me on 21 Mar 2024 at 1:22pm. This cache was found on our Canberra Mega adventure. After leaving Melbourne with PamJ in our little caravan, the plan is to stay a couple of nights at Bemm River, then a few more at Pambula before cruising into Canberra. This cache was found as part of this journey. Beautiful Eden was our lunch stop. I'll send the answers later tonight when we're set up at Pambula. Thanks Calypso62, for giving back to the game. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

Visited the vantage point to make the geological observations while making our way northwards along the Coast Road. Staying at a quiet free campsite just north of Eden for last night, we backtracked slightly to spend a little more time in town, then traveled to our next overnight stay at Dalmeney, sightseeing along the way. Thanks for the interesting and informative earthcache Calypso62!

Greetings from Seattle! I am lucky enough to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide with my fellow Lackey and best geo-buddy giacaches, and we hit the road to take the scenic route. After stopping for the night in Eden, we stopped here to make sure we could pick up another EarthCache since we're keen to find a bunch of those on this trip.I tried to will some whales to come by, but I wasn't successful - but it was still a beautiful view! We had a good night in Eden - Thai in the Main Street was yummy and the Coachman Hotel was very comfortable. Good bed, lovely shower and a continental breakfast. Tankengine, Youban and I were off to finish the AL, pick up a few caches and start heading home. This cache: We got to see the Disney Cruise Liner from here last night. And it was a little crowded with other spectators so we didnt attempt the earth cache then as it also got dark. This morning the sun was in our faces, and although a little hard to see we were still able to answer the questions. We took our photos to add to our logs between other visitors who came and went to the lookout. Nice spot to highlight. Tftc!!!

Found by The Empire + HEmbarking on a scenic drive from Lakes Entrance to Eden, New South Wales, we found ourselves traversing a picturesque coastal route that unfolded like a ribbon between the pristine waters of the Tasman Sea and the lush hinterlands. The journey promised not just the excitement of exploration but a visual feast of diverse landscapes, from coastal cliffs to serene estuaries.Leaving Lakes Entrance behind, our wheels rolled along the iconic Princes Highway, hugging the coastline with the promise of breathtaking ocean views. As we journeyed northward, the landscape transitioned seamlessly from coastal towns to stretches of untouched wilderness. The Gippsland Lakes, with their intricate network of waterways, bid us farewell, and we ventured into the unspoiled beauty of East Gippsland.Passing through small coastal hamlets, we caught glimpses of sandy shores and secluded bays, each one a tempting invitation to pause and absorb the coastal serenity. The salty breeze carried tales of the sea, and the rhythmic crash of waves against the cliffs provided a soothing backdrop to our drive. As we crossed the border into New South Wales, the landscape underwent a subtle transformation. Verdant hills and forests embraced us, creating a contrast to the azure waters that remained faithfully by our side. The road wound through Mimosa Rocks National Park, revealing pockets of ancient rock formations and secluded beaches that seemed to be hidden away from the world. One notable stop on our journey was the historic town of Eden, nestled on Twofold Bay. The deep blue waters of the bay were adorned with fishing boats, a testament to Eden's rich maritime history. We meandered through the town, exploring its wharves and discovering the stories of whaling and shipping that echoed in the sea breeze. A visit to Eden wouldn't be complete without pausing at the Eden Lookout. From this elevated vantage point, we were treated to a panoramic view of the town, the bay, and the surrounding coastlinea visual symphony that encapsulated the beauty of Australia's southeastern edge. Thanks for the earthcache Calypso62, answers sent.-MEarthaceh #419

Day 3. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.

After an evening in Eden, it was off north along the coast towards Batemans Bay.

A beautiful lookout area and a good spot to learn some geological history. Thanks for the lesson.

Thanks Calypso62 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

We are heading to Canberra to catch up with friends for a couple of days caching and we decided to leave early and take the more scenic route and grab a few caches along the way.

We are mainly concentrating on Ad Labs, virtual's and earth caches as they don't give us muggle problems.

We were doing the nearby ad lab and we do enjoy earth caches so this one was definitly a must. This one was not only a very intersting geology lesson but we had fantastic views while we discusssed our answers. Far from being geologists we have collected what we hope are good enough answers which have been sent off to the CO and if not we will happily remove this log.

Many thanks Calypso62 for showing this location and for a great explanation of what we were looking at, a favourite point from us.

What a lovely view, it took my breath away.
There is haze in the sky from nearby Hazard reduction burns making the light lovely (but also slight queasiness because it brings back memories of the fires).

Staying in Bega, we decided to make a trip to Eden. We visited the whaling museum and drove down to Boyd's Tower and the old whaling station, two places which I had not ever visited, despite having spent a fair bit of time in the area. I can not resist an earth cache, so this one had to be done. Unfortunately the photo I took is very unflattering, so I refuse to post it. I am not young but I am very, very vain!

On a week and a half road trip during the current school holidays, and trying to get a cache or two a day into the mix. We kicked off the day by completing an Earth cache in Mallacoota, and enjoyed the leisurely drive up to Eden today.
After we had looked at the Eden Killer Whale museum (and answered the obligatory adventure lab question) we headed to the lookout near Apex park to do a recon on the facilities for tomorrow mornings Meat and Greet event. Very impressed with the facilities and walking tracks around here.
We enjoyed this fantastic spot, and the questions were not too difficult to put together some answers reasonably quickly. A couple of photos taken and we were on our way.
Thanks very much for creating this Earth Cache Calypso62. We enjoyed the spot. Cheers

**Day 2: VB Series**

Today our main focus was the VB series, plus a few extras along the coastline section of the loop! We started nice and early at 7am and had a jam packed day until we decided to leave the last 20 or so for the next morning! We didn't expect the series to take quite as long as it did, but with some tricky hides, tough bush bashing through thick regrowth and a couple of DNF's the time added up quickly! Thankfully we almost had the roads to ourselves, at one point we saw less than a handful of cars over several hours! We did see a big bikie group coming through the forest at one stage also!

Absolutely fantastic series, easily one of the best in NSW! I'm not a big fan of power trails but this was far from one! Just a cluster of awesome caches, on quiet roads with plenty of parking and lots of creativity and fun to be had!

22-May-22
Day 10 of our 2 week road trip south from Brisbane. After overcoming floods, a bogged car and vehicle electrical issues, we finally reached Canberra to spend a few days with relatives before continuing south for a loop around the Snowy Mountains.

After spending last night in a hotel in Thredbo it was then time to continue our trip with a drive up towards Charlottes Pass, then a stop in Jindabyne before heading towards Eden for the run home up along the coast. We arrived here late afternoon, with some time left for caching before checking in to our accommodation for the night.

Enjoyed the expansive views of the bay from the lookout. I last visited Eden almost 20 years ago and have vague memories of seeing an oil drilling platform temporarily anchored in one the bays. I'm wondering if it may have been this lookout that I visited way back then? Only a few pleasure craft out on the bay today. An excellent spot to enjoy the views and learn some of the local geology at the same time. TFTC

When you are on holidays, what do you do first thing in the morning? For us we get up with the dawn and my my wife goes off for a 15km run, I go geocaching. This is the first time we have both been to Eden and its a lovely little town. Shame we have to head home now.

Lovely location for an Earthcache and I wasn't sure of all my answers as the rising sun over the cliff meant that the cliff face was still in shadows. But it did mean I got to enjoy watching the low glistening sun on the waters. No sign of any dolphins, or whales, next time.

Thanks for the cache Calypso 62

We are travelling back down south to tidy a few affairs at home before heading off around Australia for the next few years. The area around Eden is beautiful, and the town is aptly named. The view from the lookout is impressive, and it was fascinating to learn about the whaling that used to occur in the large bay. This Earthcache led us to observe a fascinating geological feature, and we learned more about how this great country came to be. Thank you, Calypso62, for creating and maintaining this Earthcache.

Arriving back in NSW we continued up the coast to Eden where we checked out the sights from this lookout, recalling the fires of 19/20 we could see the woodchip mill on the otherside of Twofold Bay.
We collected the necessary info and have sent answers to the CO
