I didn't find this one either, despite a long search using hints in previous logs; both original & suggested coords (per Agazo); and looking for a rusted mint tin (per TDBearInNZ and other logs).
Fitting both the hint and recent previous clues, however, I found an empty potential cache container (not rusted nor a mint tin, so possibly quite serendipitous) at a spot that was between 0.5-3m from suggested updated coords (the GPS was jumping a lot due to tree cover).
Although I wouldn't normally do this, due to this serendipitous container find and the fact that cache hasn't been found in 9 months, despite searches AND that CO does not appear to be currently caching or maintaining this cache... I have added a logsheet to the said container and updated coords to the ones previously suggested.
Hopefully, this will get this cache back in working order.
Also, there was evidence in the copse of children playing nerf darts (ideal spot!). Please replace cache carefully so its not obvious to the muggle nerfer.

No luck for us but reading previous logs it appears that there has been difficulty in the past. Not sure if it is still there, owner may wish to check

25-Mar-18
Unfortunately it was a DNF for us today on this one.

25-Mar-18
3 of us searching, but unable to locate

25-Mar-18
DNF for us today, the yapping dog next door was a little distracting but we gave it a pretty good look!

no luck for us

17-Dec-17
Somebody moved it but I found it thanks to whoever put it down

02-Nov-17
Thought a nearby dog was going to be a problem when approaching this one - but it seem to settle down after I passed. Cache was found in the third place I looked - log paper is damp so hard to write on. TFTC

05-Oct-17
At last. The nearest cache to home and found at the fifth attempt. So happy to have found it at last. Still didn't really find the fallen tree. Nice to the grass being cut at last after months of neglect. The first time it has been dry to reach the copse. TFTC

Next weekend is an event for laval's 1000th find but he needs about 10 more caches to get there so we decided to find a few local ones today to get his numbers up.

As we parked up NZIceman suggested where it may be. We walked over and looked all over before looking at previous logs and resetting our search and it was soon found. The cache is quite rusty and log a bit wet but signed as best as we could.

Loved the fantails at this location. They came really, really close and were either checking us out or just wanted to play. I havent ever seen them this friendly - favourite point for the memory of this.

Thanks for the cache.

Found with keylev and cragger.

Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the cache.

First visit yielded nothing. But recent logs are very helpful, so tried again yesterday evening, and there it was. As mentioned in previous log, 'not fallen, but base of another, 2M east', you'll see it. It's a container usually associated with a magnet. Log sheet is mush, I added a new slip of paper, should work for a little longer. Very boggy across the field, not for ball slippers. TFTC

FITW FMZ and Gorby
This one took much longer than expected. Only after reading Uncle Sam's log, I managed to find it. Note for the next finders will be; its not in the fallen tree, but base of another, which is close to this fallen one. tftc.

29-May-17
Out east finding a few caches with harisree and Gorby, although less than intended due to a couple of FTFs instead. Didn't understand the hint here at all but found eventually after reading UncleSam's log. TFTC

Another C.O. who appears to have gone by the way, socialbizguy haven't cached for 2 years - so my comments go to those who come here instead.

I came here with FMZ and Mrs harisree, we were hanging around East Auckland getting a FTF out at Whitford along with another cacher Mr NZT. After we got that we departed company. The cache was very neglected, harisree found it, I assume it won't be long before it goes bye-byes though.

Pleased to have read some of the previous logs , obtaining accurate GZ co-ords. Quick find once at GZ. TFTC.

Finishing 2016 on a nice round number - 2300 successful caches finds Smile

Nice quick find thanks to the hints in previous logs.

Great cache a little search but found it eventually

First time round I ran out of time so went home and read the logs. This time I extended my search area and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks

28-Oct-16
Thankyou for the placement socialbizguy !
Took a bit of hunting but found it in the end !
Somehow I was expecting a larger cache !
I also was scared by loud barking from a large fierce sounding dog , luckily from behind a fence , as I was accessing the Alleyway...

My first Auckland cache. Thought it was appropriate that there were several oranges on the ground. Thanks Smile

Needed the backup cords. Tftc.

Out and about for work today. Thought I would collect a hide on my travels. I decided on this one. I parked up and made the short walk across the grass to GZ. GPSr took me right around the back. Followed my nose into the thicket of trees. After a quick look I checked the logs and tried the slightly different coordinates offered up. Spotted something worth checking shortly after that. Further inspection and the hide was in hand. I have lost count of the number of caches I have found in this park now. Anyway, congrats on your first cache placement!

GPS was pointing into someones back yard, but geosence led me straight to it.

A quick find here, found in the first place checked. Think i must have gotten lucky due to the location and size, TFTC! Big Grin

25-Apr-16
Stopped to grab this one after being at the movies (Kung Fu Panda 3) quick find for this one and we are back on the road for a few more before we head home. Boys loved the climbing trees and the playground nearby. TFTC

19-Apr-16
I tried this cache on a few occasions, but gave up. Today, I followed jard1037's lead to get closer to GZ and find the cache. I think the coords should be: S36 55.057 E174 55.389. TFTC.

08-Apr-16
Another wee detour on my way to work this morning brings me to this lovely quiet little park. Searched and searched unsuccessfully but then with the help of Uncle Sam's log, the cache was finally in hand. TFTC (and I think I get the clue)

04-Apr-16
No luck for me here today.

27-Mar-16
Took a bit of searching but persistance paid off. Was difficult to put back as a bevy of 2 and 4 legged muggles appeared and decided to converge on the area and took a while to leave

18-Mar-16
Hunted around and found the cache

Spoiler alert Smile it's a few metres from the GPS spot at the base of a tree.

Ps my Grand daughter was with us and likes leaving trinkets Smile swap it out and keep it running.

I didn't understand the clue but found the cache anyway. Oddly enough, sitting on the ground at the edge of the grove was an orange. TFTC

20-Feb-16
Quick find for me. No idea what the hint meant, even after I found the cache! Thanks.

14-Feb-16
Popped out to do "a couple of quick caches", ended up bitten, scratched but ultimately successful and happy!
Got to within a few metres of GZ and had a good look around as you do before looking at other logs. One spoke of a fallen tree so we started to look in a slightly different location.
Still no luck but then just as we were about to call it a DNF, I spotted a likely container. Empty. But then a few metres further away a piece of paper, and another, and then a zip lock bag!
A muggle must of had some fun.
Dusted it all off, signed the log and replaced "within a couple of metres of the fallen tree" as per previous log. TFTC.

25-Jan-16
Tftc. Took alot of hunting for this one. Ended up having to PAF. Got useful info & spread my search area a couple of meters & found it.

11-Jan-16
Keeping the streak alive after completing a 50 day caching challenge with a group of friends, we decided to continue to see how long we could go for. Had just got an icecream at McD's and realised we hadn't got our cache for the day, so here we are and by torch light we found the cache thanks to UncleSams log. TFTC!

Nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon.
Time to clean up some of the caches near home.

06-Jan-16
Am doing a 50 day streak with some of my other geocaching buddies, and decided I would do this one today.

Arrived at GZ, had been in this park for another cache about a year back, but that cache is now deceased Sad So I paid my respects and started searching and searching and searching. It is always fun looking for a mint tin in the bush. I had to give up a few times, as some kids where playing near by, and it somewhat looks weird seeing a grown man hiding in the bush :-p

I was not having much luck, so I had to use the PAF option.

Soon after the cache was found.

It is always hard to get good co ords with tree cover, so as a helpful hint to anyone reading the logs, look for the fallen tree and I think it was eastish at least 2m +

I took up the challenge of finding this cache set by social biz guy! It took quite a bit of searching but got there in the end... thanks to the phone a friend option... only to find i was actually standing right in front of it! Also had the bejeepers scared out of me by a black cat! And... believe it or not... as the sun was setting i got to witness the trees actually turn orange! Totally amazing as i thought initially that someone had vandalized the tree trunks with dazzle orange spray paint! This is a very cool cache and i would recommend finding it... especially around sunset! A fav point for me. Tftc!

Went to check up on the cache after a few people couldn't find it. Everything is the way it was

31-Dec-15
Had a good look but no luck today

31-Dec-15
Lookd thoroughly in a very obvious place but couldn't find.

No luck for me.

A little to far for me

22-Dec-15
Well, I knew this CO (cache owner) was itching to hide his first cache, so when all the publications came out this afternoon, I watched and waited..... I happened to be at home, so I got ready just in case there was a release in my area, calling out to Junior NewlynFam that we might be going out to find a cache any moment now, so she had better be ready! Shoes went on, all the time watching emails... and then there it was- 1.4km away!!!! We were off!!! Smile

Botany Road was maddeningly busy today, but I made it to GZ in just a few minutes. Hmmmm- I've been here before.... to try and find another cache before it was archived. We pulled up behind a familiar looking car- is that the CO's? Just then he walks around the corner, looking pretty pleased with himself! I had told him that once he published a cache, I would attempt to FTF it, and so he decided to head to GZ and see if I would show up! Wink

We traipsed off toward the hiding spot, and Junior and I got told "well, off you go then" (or words to that effect!). The CO then proceeded to stand back and laugh, and watch us try to find his cache. I had read the hint, so figured out what level to search on, and the coords seemed pretty good despite the tree cover. I got to 3 metres away and then spotted a good hiding place. Closer investigation revealed the cache...... woohoo!!! Big Grin

Signed the nice blank log for an {FTF}, which also happened to fulfill day #31 of my 50 day streak (a challenge I am undertaking with some caching buddies).... nice to add an FTF to the caches within this streak!!!

Thanks for hiding a cache, socialbizguy.... well done on your first hide! Looking forward to the next one! Big Grin
