Thank you, this is our 32 Anniversary run. Aiming to get 32 caches today to celebrate 7/32
We are on our way to Maldon for a two nights to allow us to travel on the Victorian Goldfields Railway - and the steam train, J549, is back in operation. Apologies for some generic log as most of the finds for this series were straightforward. Thanks to Saint.Anthony for the cache.
Nearly DNFd this one due to the long grass, spiky tree and loads of rocks and bricks until one last sweep of the area gave me an opening and a find! TFTC!!
Quick find here today, cache is all goodThis week I decided to head to Victoria for a few days to target finishing off the Ballarat Geotour and also find the new series in St Arnaud, anything else was a bonus. I ended up finding a little over 300 caches plus a tonne of ad labs along the way. Thanks for the cache
Aww the sign is a little sad.

Now in Ballarat and enjoying the new home, just not all the unpacking, so headed up this way to grab a few more caches in the area. Managed to grab another 10 before the need to head back and continue to free up a few more boxes. No issues with this one and the cache was soon in hand and the log signed.
Thanks again for the historical series Saint.Anthony....

Wow what an ordeal! I searched for ages for this one and was partly cache blinded by a misinterpretation of the clue. I left and came back again after reading some logs. Still no luck. The kind CO sent me some guidance so I returned for a third time. Still following cache blindness I moved something I thought could be the cache only to find the cache underneath and nothing like I was imagining! I passed over it multiple times. Great hide thanks for the effort with this trail (and the help) Saint Anthony!

It was great to be back in the area caching and catching up my buddy Rebel Acts.
So many new caches online around Ballarat and Creswick since the last time I was up this way, and awesome to see some lab caches here as well.
Cheers Saint Anthony for the caches and the fun weekend

I had a few days off so plans were made to catch up with omegaman1971 and do some caching around the Ballarat and Creswick areas, We had a great time finding caches in the area and learning about the history of the region. The weather was a little cold but bearable.
Thanks Saint.Anthony for the cache.

We're BACK! Social distancing has always been my forte when geocaching - ever seen me at an event? Hahaha! But now with travel restrictions eased, we can go out and find some geocaches again.
A trip to Ballarat was in order, a new virtual cache and an Earthcache to find, as well as some Adventure Labs to check out. After the Earthcache we were heading back to Ballarat to check out another Adventure Lab and we were able to pick up a few more caches along the way. A A DNF here in 2015 - quickly found today! What a difference 5 years and about 50/60 other people finding a cache before you can make! Thanks for the cache Saint.Anthony.

And this begins the DNF's of the day. So many places it could be! Three times I thought I found it, but no. The items here look like they have been moved around a lot recently so I hope it's still here. I'll keep an eye on this to see if the next person finds it. I'll be back...
started my day off by attending the Ballarat Breakfast event and continued Northish to find some more. Spotted a bunch of caches to be found in this area so I went to work to find as many as I could. TFTC.
After a short search we soon had cache in hand.

Found this one in an attempt to finish the Mystery Challenge. After the early morning snow and in between showers we were able to add our name to this log. Mrs jiwilly attempted this one a few weeks back at the start of the challenge and had some trouble finding, so we made our way back again today to find. Nice easy find today! Thanks for bringing us out here and for this amazing series! Apologies for some incorrect dates on some logs as I was accidentally putting 11.9.19 instead of 11.8.19! I
Find No. 2747. Found at 2.44pm.
A day out caching in the van with Geodog Penny and FUF009.
Having found all the gems for the 'Mystery at the Museum', our goal for today was to find caches so we could open the vault. We headed down to north of Creswick where there have been a few more caches added to the map since we were last there.
An interesting area with all the mines around. Most were quick finds, some took a bit longer. For the day we were able to fulfill the next task for the game - needing 35 caches to open the vault. We managed a total of 36 plus one DNF.
We were lucky with the day, no rain but rather cold. With all the wet weather lately it was wet and muddy underfoot. Penny enjoyed herself walking through puddles which meant we ended up with a wet dog in the van and a rather muddy blanket. But we all enjoyed ourselves.
This one we had a DNF on way back on 25th June 2016 - is it really that long since we have been back to this area? Time sure does fly.
Today we found what we were looking for however the log was absolutely soaked to a pulp and you couldn't unroll it, so unable to sign our names.

Newstead Day 3
Todays trip was around the mining area as far south as Creswick. We came accross some amazing caches & locations, a really enjoyable day.
The weather started quite bad, rain jackets & beanies to keep warm. The unsealed roads were good to drive on as we kriss cossed the country side. Learnin a little about the area as we went.
Thanks for placing this cache Saint.Anthony

Picked up a few from this series on a day out caching with Dive Wombat and the 7 kids. The friendly farmer from Loughlin Mine 2 warned us that a snake had been seen in the area of this one. We were all very cautious hunting through the rubble for this one. I eventually discovered its hiding spot. Thanks for the cache.
Up early this morning and out and about - Creswick was the target today.

Firstly, apologies for the lateness in logging.
Despite my tardiness, you can be assured I enjoyed each and every cache found and not found.
Apologies if this is a generic log, my memory is good, but not that good.

Today we head to Melbourne. I was up early again before we left, and made one last foray out this way to see how many more caches I could find. I’m getting to know the road between Creswick and Daylesford pretty well by now. Thanks for the time spent setting up the CDLGM series, I enjoyed looking for them and finding them (most of them) and seeing the surrounding countryside as well. Cheers and TFTC

Away for a long weekend of caching with Freddo and Four Fun.
Over 300 caches in 4 days means that the logs will be mainly generic.
The main target of our mission was to finish off the Mt Disappointment series. We achieved our target along with other caches as we headed east and then west.
My apologies for the generic logs.

The main target was the Dad's Driving Series, and it was definately a fun exercise collecting the series but with that completed we focused on some other caches and making our way back to SA, very slowly [^]
This was one of the fun stops along the way
Cheers & TFTH Saint.Anthony

Logging a find as part of the 4FW crew for this interesting series. A lot of work has gone into putting this series together. All caches were found and logged on a beautiful day.
Very interesting to follow this trail. The amount of mines and how close they were/are. Thanks for the cache.
Wowser we were protected in the 4WD today but the wind was very wild but this all makes sense now, having read through the caching pages we had done, knowing a lot the trees were cut down in the area. Still a damn good day.

A day spent zig zagging the back roads north of Ballarat hunting down caches near mines and old railway stations, before ending up at a birthday event.
With a good number of finds made, on the sometimes slick tracks due to the lovely weather the night before, I ended up turning a couple of DNFs into a smiley yet I accumulated 3 more DNFs on the day, but still had a lot of fun and enjoyed the interesting views and history of the countryside.
I had DNFd this one over 2 years ago. Remember spending some time here searching with Tyred n Cranky. Today travelling solo I was expexting another long stop, but not to be as the first item I moves revealed the cache. How we missed this last time has me baffled.

Another wonderful day spent in the company of Bushfire. Back again in this area but with much kinder weather than the other day when the temperature only struggled to 4 degrees. We came armed with a formidable list of caches and managed to find most of them with only 1 DNF finishing with a respectable tally. It’s difficult to imagine the activity that would have occurred along this road when all these mines were active. Thanks for the extensive notes which add so much to these caches Thanks Saint Anthony
Cached up here last Wednesday when the temperature was hovering around four degrees and this morning was not much warmer if you looked at the puddles that we drove through as they were covered in ice.
Again I am caching with au.fait and we had a wonderful day changing lots of caches into smiley faces.
We only stopped for a cuppa and some nibbles during the day and completed all the caches that were on our list in this area.
Dinner and a beer and wine was had at Buninyong on out way back to Geelong at the local on the corner. Great meal but pays to be early.
Creswick is looking a happier place now with all these new smiley faces looking at me.
All caches were signed with au.fait and BF.
It is difficult for us to come to terms of the hardships that these miners faced.
Thanks to Saint.Anthony for placing and maintaining this cache.

The third day in Ballarat and surrounds with BettyBoo3747.
Today we went to Creswick and tackled the CBRR and CDLGM series and any others we passed. We then travelled across to Mt Beckworth for a few challenges.
We had read about the mines north of Creswick, but until you travel around and look at all the locations I don't think we really grasped the size of the operations.
Interesting descriptions of the mines, thanks for than.
Most of the caches were in good condition (BB listed maintenance)
Thanks for an interesting afternoon, Robmc.

#14119. Day 3 touring the area around Creswick with Robmc. Back through Miners Rest to Creswick and a visit to the CBRR series and the CDLGM series and then off to Mt Beckworth to finish the day. Ballarat weather was kind to us today, no gale force winds and plenty of sunshine - very nice.
Now getting into the series proper. So many mullock heaps and remnants. Even the signs look like they have seen better days. Since Rob looked at this series it seems to have grown very recently with the publication of new ones in January.
Thanks for the extensive cache page notes and photos.
My search was unproductive but surprisingly Rob came up with the sneaky hide fairly quickly. This one could have taken some time.
Thanks Saint.Anthony

Out with Youban for a morning cache run. Daunting at first when we saw the rubble, but after a quick search it was found. Like something a little different. Tftc!!!
Mr Geo called time but dty73 went for one more go. Right where Mr Geo had said “no luck”. Perseverance pays off. Kutgw
Barney Rubble was a bit trickier and we were pushing to find before the rain came. Hubby scored the find. We didn't want a DNF in our string. TFTC
Argh! there always seems to one dnf when doing a cache run. l decided to scratch about for a few minutes and decided that joining my family for a buffet breakfast was far more pressing than continuing my search. Thanks anyway Saint.Anthony.
After enjoying our last visit to the area, we decide to head back again this morning. Last time we were here, it was hot and sticky. Today the sun was shining and a lovely cool breeze was blowing. Once again we had a ball, touring this beautiful town and surrounds. Thanks to all the hard work from the CO's. TFTC Saint.Anthony
Found by Mary & David at 1455. With the sound of all those sheep, we're thinking about roast lamb at the pub tonight. This evil little hide took us quite a bit longer than average. Our thanks to Saint.Anthony.
Check made today to extend log capacity. Plasbag too. All good to go! Cheers StA
Visiting Creswick again for some Fishin and Caching. Our last time here was Nov 2016 and during that two weeks learned heaps and scored some 70+ caches to add to our tally. We thought we had cleaned out most of the Creswick caches. Not so. On returning home we became Premium Members and succeeded in exposing about another 80+ in this lovely area. Yehaaa.
Back to the hard rock Miners.
This visit to Creswick was for a relatively short period. (3 days) Lots more still to collect from this wonderfully historic town. Thanks Creswick, and thanks also to the CO's and their hard work.
Hoping you will forgive the generic logs.

With plenty of time up our sleeves we decided to make a big loop around all of these mine sites. Most were easy find with only 1 DNF.
