Logs
Collecting solved puzzles and completed challenges on the peninsula. Down for the mega. Please excuse the generic log. Thanks for placing each and every on of your caches, including those I can't solve or can't find.
I missed this one the last time I was in Dunedin, so Marchwood and I stopped by on our way back. Somehow it was an easy find today. TFTC.
Back in our hometown for a weekend of MEGA adventures.Weather has changed dramatically since yesterday but we will soldier on TFTC.
Cache with a view (Otago)Dunedin MEGA Thursday! A bit of sightseeing and of course some caching. It was a great privilege to find some amazing caches in such a beautiful place. A massive thank you to all of the COs for the preparation, placement and maintenance of these caches. TFTC debsnz# 10598CheersWillis007
I located a few caches today near Dunedin and on the Otago Peninsula whilst en route to Portobello for the night. Went for a brief excursion to this neck of the woods at the end of the day, the light fading fast, and picked up two nearby caches. Took a brief moment to spot this one. #7366. TFTC.
Definitely a lovely view, grabbed this one on Friday while out this way with Mum, forgot to log it once I got home. Thanks!
On a roadie with Hal2929 today. We are both trying to complete a challenge requiring 100 caches from 100 different cache owners. Not so easy when you live in an area with only a dozen or so goecaching people placing caches. So Hal2929 found a good number of caches that neither of us had previously picked on earlier trips north. Thanks debsnz for placing and maintaining this cache so we could come and find today. Great day out in reasonable weather. We saw lots of amazing views and picked up lots of different CO's caches.
On a roadie with kiscardi getting some caches for a challenge. Nice setting. All good. Thanks
A bit windy here this afternoon but still a nice spot to sit and admire the view - in the car, out of the wind! The log paper is pretty soft and starting to disintegrate but its still usable. TFTC
We had been out at the end of the peninsular and now heading back to the city and finding a few caches on the way back. Without this cache I would never have thought of driving through this settlement, and what a lovely place it seems to be.There was a couple walking their dog, so we had an excuse to sit on the bench until they were out of sight. I found the cache, and after signing the log jammed it back in place.
Out with Spoonz2 and stopped to check on this one. In surprisingly good condition considering it has been here for more than 7 years and has been battered by all types of weather and tides in that time.
Passing by here today and stopped to sign this. Get it while you can- with global warming it's going to be under water in future with our rising sea levels. Thanks Debsnz.
We picked this one up on our way out to the sanctuary at the end of the peninsula. What a lovely spot. Thanks .
A beautiful view from the seat. Though the long grass should be cut back a bit further.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Nice Wee spot. Low tide when we visited so view not as good as it would be at high tide

Drove along the coast road to target this cache with a view. I had the DT marked down as a 2.0 but that wasn't for the terrain and stopped to pick up the pillcan. I like the camo, no one picks them up. The logslip has seen better days since publication several years ago but was dry in a wee baggy. Popped the goods back in the pillcan as found under the thing; under the thing and away home. A few pix's in the gallery, have another one. *Labyrinth **15pt** trad **380pt***. TFTC
Great spot here. My first actual visit to the Harwood community. Cache quickly found and is in good condition.
Thanks for the cache, debsnz

Walking past as part of my challenge to walk every street in Dunedin during 2021 so stopped to check up on this cache. I'm surprised at how well it's survived considering its been here over 5 years and so close to the sea.
Definitely a cache, and seat, with a view! Stunning. And very quiet at the moment, just the seabirds for company. TFTC
What a beautiful, tranquil spot. I'd been here before - it aways seems to look different depending on the tides, weather etc. Had a quick scout around - wasn't where I imagined it would be, but then spotted another likely spot and there it was, with a nice little bit of camo. TFTC.
Out for a catch up and a few caches with Kerynz. Decided to try to tick off some finals. Managed to get a few others on the way back for good measure. Lovely spot, have never been down here before, so peaceful. TFTC
In need of a catch-up with Frame Family so she suggested we head down the Peninsula to grab a few finals for mysteries we have had on our ‘solved’ list for some time. After ticking off three we started heading back to town. Quick stop here and quick find. Tftc
Staying the night at the domain. Hac to get out for a walk even in the rain. Still worth taking time to look around. TFTC
With all our targeted caches snagged and tagged for today, now we are just roaming around collecting up any that we pass. Nice spot here at the moment. tftc
Such a tranquil place to linger and take in amazing views of the bay. Some muggle had left a doggy doo doo bag right on top of it !?!
I have left my muggle friend, who is watching the penguins leave the water at dusk. So I am back tracking trying to find as many caches as I can.
A quick stop, and the cache was soon found. Thanks for the hide debsnz

A nice quick find thanks. The views were quite restful.
Found on a wee break over Waitangi weekend. It is a bit cool for this time of year!!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

We had an unexpected extra night in Dunedin so that also meant some extra geocaching. Unfortunately we didn't have time to linger here taking in the view. We did find the cache though. Logs may have been signed H&H, HZ + HM, or with our full names depending on log size.
Thank you debsnz.
Thank you debsnz.
We took the opportunity that came with an unexpected extra night's stay to do soome random caches on the way to the breeding colony. We already had noted the abundance of private and public seats from the numerous vantage points to soak up the views from. We'd loved to have stayed a bit longer here but were on a mission. Thank you Natalie247
I only discovered Harwood because my friend brought a house out here. Such a stunning spot and yes the seat is well made
We drove out to Portobello to listen to a talk on the various hulks around Dunedin Harbour, and then cycled out to the end of this road intending to walk along the track that starts there. We had just started parking our bikes when the daywalks arrived looking for a sheltered place to have lunch so, while the others were setting up, I wandered back to grab the cache.
Easy find in second spot that I looked.

.We are up on on the road at 6.30 before the day has woken up. So its night caching here with torches. A quick snag and tag here. Cheers. The view even this early is amazing with lots of pretty lights across the water.
Easter Monday 22 April - Exploring Dunedins amazing Southern Peninsular today. Zara is resting up at Harwood while we have William along to entertain us today.
Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

Taybeedragon and I arte camping just down the road here, while we cache the peninsula. So came out here at the start of peninsula day 2 - the islands!!! Still not dawn, still dark. out with the torches. A nice easy find.
Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

Someone was enjoying this view this morning so I just kept on going but it was all clear when I returned on my way back this afternoon. I liked the camo job here. TFTC # 13,592
A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 12 Dunedin 10 caches found including the last of the targets. This was a lunch stop so I was able to sit and enjoy the view. Thank you for the placement

Nice quick grab for a cache that hadnt been found for many months, and the CO is the owner of the travel bug i brought back here from australia tftc.
Found a cache thats been left alone for awhile but its still in good knick and still enjoying the view :3
Parked just around the corner for the night. Couldn’t help but to go and grab this one on a quick bike ride. TFTC!!!
A nice day caching in the Dunedin area, about 40 caches for the day a few good up and down walks and a lot of fun had. Many Thanks Bitsprayer.
A quick park and grab in an awesome location. Sat for a bit to enjoy the sun and view. TFTC
On our way back from Albatross Centre we stopped to find the cache. Around 14:05 we signed the log.
Cache # 4,127 - Last cache of the day with CelloJoss, and this one took two attempts. The first saw a muggle living nearby come over with his large German Shepherd to say hello, so we proceeded on to our friend's house for dinner, before coming back in the dark. A friendly hedgehog greeted us at the cache on the second visit, and we suspect the nearby neighbour might have been watching from a window, but cache was an instant retrieve and sign. TNLNSL. TFTC!
A quick easy find of a nicely hidden cache which gets a favourite from us. Found with JuJu54. TFTC
Not that great a view today as the tide is out and lots of screeching birds! Never mind a nice seat and a cache! TFTC
Tide was fully out so it wasn’t quite as picturesque as we guess it normally would be. Still a pretty spot to sit and enjoy in the sun. TFTC
Thanks out for a bike ride only started at portobello. Nice morning to stop here. Lots of people out walking their dogs.
A quick find after attending Canada Day event. Found and signed as SGC to save space on the log sheet. This was the last cache out this way do after having a kitkat and drink we all headed back towards the city. Great views of the harbour today
What a lovely view . Easy find on a Sunday afternoon. Signed log as SGC's. TFTC
This was our most northernmost cache found today on our convoy from Invercargill to Dunedin for a Canada day event. Wish we had more time to explore. Sat for a brief moment, had a break, had a kit kat before our long journey south. Signed as SGC.
A quick find with the Invercargill crew (GSC's) as we explored the area, a great place to stop for a break and a kitkat, thanks to Tuitigger. Lovely views from this area, thanks for the placement
Found on a damp afternoon travelling in a convoy from Invercargill for an event. Due to the number of us, we have signed the log as SGCs (Southland Geocachers) TFTC
Today we were on a mission to get to #1000. Down exploring the Peninsula on ANZAC day. Nice quick find. TFTC
A quick find here while driving back from the albatross colony this afternoon. Signed log, TFTC
On our way through the otago peninsula we made a short stop here. After finding a real empty bottle i also found this little box
Thanks for hiding
Thanks for hiding
During our New Zealand Round Trip I was looking for some Geochache. A nice area. After little searching I could found this one also.
Thank you for cache support

Out doing some maintenance on caches and thought it would be rude not to grab this nearby cache. Clever little hide, almost missed it.
An afternoon drive on the Peninsula with Mrs D Senior. She hadn't been to Harwood before and was impressed at the number of houses - and that glorious view of course!
Having received a nudge in the right direction from the CO I decided that I had an excuse for a bike ride today. It was well tucked in and I didn't see it at first glance.
