On our way to Stanthorpe for a few days we stopped at the rest area and headed over to GZ. After doing what the hint suggested the cache was quickly spotted. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks kandg for the cache.
Pulled over for a rest and noticed a cache was close by. Approaching from the wrong side I soon hit a dead end. Doubling back and approaching from the correct side I found the cache quickly. TFTC
Up in the Lockyer Valley to attend an Event with RoddyC, Hatzofff , Snickersallan and Patrol14 and picking up a few caches before and after it.Some great views along the way. This was a quick and easy find thanks to the hint. Log signed as group before replacing all as found. TFTC

We left Greenmount and were heading back too van at Laidley..Stooped to give this cache a go. Made the effort to go down and get it . All good here... signed log and returned cache to its hide ..With all the beautiful spots around here, not sure why this hide was chosen ..?..
Wasn't keen on the parking spot but the cache was retrieved quickly and we were on our way. TFTC

Out with lisylou while our geo-girls dance in Gatton. A couple of caches on our target list were inaccessible due to flooded roads so we headed a bit further away and found this one safe up high away from the water.
Found with misssusan while visiting gatton. No service but we managed to find it. Tftc
Took a minute due to no map or signal but found it from the wrong side in the end!!
Many times I'm driving over this bridge on the way to a cache or 2. Finally stop here to find this one

Had some time to kill so took a drive to find some caches. So many cyclists on this stretch of road today! Tftc
We're on a long, long road to Brisbane and stopped at the nearby campsite after many hours of driving. Come morning before we set off again, we came out to read the monument signage and then wander over to find this cache. While it was a reasonably easy find, I'd be inclined to increase the terrain by maybe another 1/2 a star. But then, I'm scared of heights [:o]

I went to Toowoomba to visit a friend and Chamad decided to join me early the next day. After a two day adventure of laughs and challenges, Chamad had 3 caches on this road as targets needed for a challenge cache. "Just off the highway on the way home," he said. Hmmmm, but when there is a target, there is a target. Thank goodness we were able to get all 3! This area is beautiful and I really enjoyed the drive out here, so thank you.
Out with triple turmoil this morning working our way around Crows Nest and some of the surrounding areas. I had a few target caches to get and a few as we passed by, what a nice area. I was particularly after the old caches in Crows Nest National Park, a couple for my 360 grid and then a few just because.
Working our way back home I still had three caches I needed for a challenge I had set myself. On the map it looked like they were just off the highway and a short drive, well I guess 40 minutes is a short drive, but not when you have a prior commitment.
This one I had preconceived ideas about and thought it was on top of the bridge or in the guardrail, nope. Thanks for placing this one here, we signed the log and returned the cache as found and with time ticking away we had fly. A very nice area and one to explore more when I have time.

Found at 12:00 PM GAFF1.
We were camped at the Theiss Memorial Park and after a light lunch we went over to read the information about the innovative Theiss brothers and then off to find the cache - which we were not expecting to have to do that bit of acrobatics
However thank goodness that the cache was sitting right there in front, so that we didn't have to mix it with the spiders and other unknown bitey things [:o)]
Thanks kandg

Friday. We came through this area on our way home from Leyburn and New Year’s Celebrations. Mr SP said that he thought we’d been here before looking for a cache. I wasn’t sure until we pulled in and then I definitely remembered we’d been here. Popping down to GZ, I looked and Bingo! There was a cache! I was 100% sure I’d looked there last time, without any success. Looks like we hadn’t logged a previous DNF, but no need, we had success today and can claim a smiley. I took out the empty Fantales packet. We admired the old road works that formed part of each end of the old bridge. Last cache find for today and for the first day of 2021 for us.
This was the 8th of 8 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***kandg*** for showing us this place

8:28:00 AM. Stopped and camped for the night. We weren't paying attention to the gps when we pulled up and while having a beer said this would be a good place for a geocache. We were surprised next morning when the gps showed one so after breaking camp we went for a look. It didn't take long to make the find and sign the log. Loved the history of Theiss and was shocked they could drive a machine like that from Sydney. Thanks for the cache kandg
I have driven past this every week for over a year and I never found it when I stopped to stop search.
This time hubby and I were practicing being grey nomads and stopped here overnight so it gave me heaps of time to find it. Bam!

Heading to an event today, I figured it was a good day to take a detour and find some caches, including this one! I parked at the wrong place, made my way close enough to realise that I had indeed parked in the wrong place, then snuck on over and parked where the WP said to. Well, near enough, there's not a lot of space there now. Anyway, I zoomed down and around to GZ and quickly signed the log before zipping off again. Thanks for placing this cache here!
Wow, firstly, I need to apologise for this log, We've been busy with work and other things so we have a few drafts stored away that need to be turned into logs, ofcourse, your receiving this because we found the cache... we came, we saw, we found, we signed, we smiled... all we can say is sorry and thanks for the cache!

What a wonderful spot for hiding the jar. We took the difficult route which the boys really enjoyed. Thanks allot.
Currently a rather large paperwasp nest nearby to cache GZ... looked a bit pissed off when I ventured too close so gave it a miss
TFTC! Bit of a slip and slide to get to this one. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear. Still a nice little hide

We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us.
Currently staying at Laidley today we decided to head out for a drive in the surrounding area. Got a little sidetracked and strayed further than we had loaded into the GPSr. Luckily we had GSAK with us and were able to grab coords for caches offline. Phew.
Picked up some TB's here, that are yet to be logged into the cache. Waiting to hear back from the holder.

Heading back to Canberra, after my much needed holiday staying with my parents in Caloundra ... been up here for several weeks (for Christmas, and most of January
Have been doing lots of "Geocaching Therapy" - found at least one cache a day since I left home, kept going until the day after I got home ...
TFTC - Theiss ... was a good spot to stop and grab my cold pie (Aussie day party leftover - my dinner - lol) out of the Esky... Would have been a lovely spot to camp but I want to get a bit further down the road if i can... not gone as far South as originally planned yet - left late and then stopped for too many caches (is there such a thing as too many Geocaching breaks? lol)
Looks like a nice safe cache - dropped 3 x TBs... half my reason for stopping for so many caches today - brought about a dozen TBs up from CBR - don't want to take them back again - have had them long enough... and have collected a couple more up here as well - lol
(Unfortunately life got in the way and I didn't get the cache logging done before most of the TBs I dropped that day were grabbed ... Oops)

On the way home from a weekend at a friends farm nearby we stopped here to find this cache. I ended up trying 2 access points to find this cache as i didnt look at my gps properly . Then i could actually see the cache from the other side of the creek . Back up and over and happily signed the log. Great spot for a cache. Thankyou for placing this cache here for us to enjoy.
Yes the Theiss brothers first road contract was for a tunnel through the hill at the end of the bridge, but they offered to dig a cutting for the same price. Later in life, Leslie Theiss purchased a plane to travel around his company jobs, and this inspired his friend, Joh, to use a plane also for travelling around the state.
My first thought on seeing GZ was "How am I going to climb up THERE?" But it turned out fairly easy with care. Would not like to try in the wet though. Hunching almost double, quickly located the cache, autographed the log, and retreated to the car on the safer side of the bridge. Noticed some interesting rock blocks forming walls either side of the creek, presumable buttresses for an earlier bridge on the site. TFTC, kandg.

Definitely do not try from the picnic area. Better to cross the bridge and leave geokids in the car. TFTC
It's taken me 2 weeks to remember to log this but better late then never: We camped overnight with some friends in the rest one Saturday to watch a massive meteor shower go over. We picked this place cause it was close to Brisbane and the range got rid of all the light pollution from the city. It was a great night. Cache is in a dangerous position. One of my friends got this one for me, I'm not the suicidal type. Do not attempt with kids. Cache was located and returned tftc
Finally had the time to stop and find the 'little sucker'
Come thru this was most Mondays with work but am usually running behind, but today everything was working and I was a head of time.
So decided to stop, grab and turn it into a smiley face ..

T-Tech had to work up at Mount Kynoch today and I got to tag along [^] While he was busy I took a drive south to get a nearby puzzle cache sorted, then decided to continue on to this one. Such an interesting memorial and a lovely camping spot. And I like where the cache was hiding [^] TFTC, kandg.
I'd been up at Toowoomba this morning taking my birds for a training flight, and decided to come back down the range this way to pick up this particular cache I've had my eye on for a while
I parked on the uphill side of the bridge as recommended, but I must say there is not a lot of room to park here
A short walk later I made out like a troll and soon found the hidden cache container [^]
Believe it or not I startled a pigeon that had been resting under the bridge
I'm sure he'll come back to roost though. He wasn't one of mine
The logbook was extracted and dutifully signed and dated. Then cache replaced back as I'd found it, all s in readiness for the next visiting geocacher to come and find it for themselves [8d]
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache kandg

I found myself in Toowoomba for a conference and after lunch today had nothing but the drive home to Brisbane to get done. I figured might as well make hay of such a magnificent day and the greenery in light of recent rain and make a detour. Options were my usual Esk-Hampton Rd, or cut a loop to nowehere much along what I think of as the Tenthill Valley - or the road to Glen Rock - or the one south of Gatton. Whatever, I knew where I was going and it was there I went!
Once I'd gotten a little bit lost a few times, checked my own geocache not far away and found another geocache I decided to take the West Haldon/Lagoon Creek Road out via another find. That was an interesting drive! Back on the main drag now and I recalled a small number of trips along here when I got sick of the usual route through Cunninghams Gap when returning from Stanthorpe. Some of those must've been at night, but it sure is a fun drive.
Today found the rest area which was being utilised by a number of van thingies, left the car and legged it over the bridge. A few brightly coloured parrots zoomed around below, near the remnants of the old bridge. The geocache's hiding area was pretty full on with spiders, but it made me smile just how not hidden this geocache is when you get there. All in good condition, I added my name, and replaced as found.
Back at the car I read all about the sign and made sure to look for the cutting afterwards. It sure is a decent chunk of earthworks and I noted the super steep sides. Fascinating! Thanks for this geocache, kandg

Our second find for this drive, after leaving the previous cache I took a left hoping that it would come out where I thought. I was in luck and the drive was great getting to this one, not sure I would go this way on a much wetter day though . So many places for this one to be hidden and yet I find myself playing chicken on the bridge! Luckily it was a quietish day and not a lot of traffic. Once at GZ we found the hide quickly. Signed our names and we were on our way. TFTCkandg
Left Federation Park this morning to head towards Ipswich, via Heifer Creek We camped here about 2 years ago, but there was no cache here then. We had our morning coffee break before heading off to find the cache.
Surprised to find the cache over the creek, so set off across the bridge, dodging trucks as they sped across the bridge. Fortunately you could hear them coming.
Mr D ducked his head, and found the cache. Thanks kandg

Well this has been a busy place today. Yes we did what others have gone before us did and parked on the picnic side of the bridge. Once we realised that we needed to cross over I walked and played with the traffic while hubby returned to the bike and rode over, for us a small parking area was all we needed to be safe.
We don't feel that you would like to attempt this one on a wet day, but today being dry - not a problem. As I am the smaller of our team I choose to go down and under to retrieve the cache only to find that there is no pen/pencil in the nice sized container so I needed to return back to the top to retrieve a pen from hubby. That will teach me to go ahead before he arrives. SL TFTC
Today Youngoldfella, triciac2 and myself teamed up for a one day road trip to find a few of the new geocaches that have appeared since we have been to the various places we travelled to today.
Of course some of us have found some of the geocaches along the way and at other locations others of us had not found the geocaches there.
We travelled about 400km in total. I found about 14 geocaches, youngoldfella a few more and triciac2 a few more again.
We parked the car over in the picnic area and started the walk to GZ. [^] Unfortunately I avoided the road and headed underneath from the picnic side. WRONG ..... I could not climb up the concrete slope on the other side of the creek and had to bush bash my way up to the road and backtrack to the bridge.
Once there I made a quick find. [^]
While dodging traffic making our way back to the picnic area we discussed WHY have the cache on that side of the bridge where people have to cross the bridge from this obvious and more safer parking area [?]
We came up a few pro's and con's to the decision.
Thanks for the cache.

I had arranged with Brother Colin to come with me today as I thought I may need expert help to climb a tree. So there were the three of us, Yongoldfella ( That's me), triciac2 and Brother Colin. Good team for the day. I left home at 0400 to meet triciac2 and Brother Colin at 6am then head to Cecil Plains arriving there at about 7am to start there and head east. I had found the ones out this way so I drove and they searched.
This road trip was to find a few of the new geocaches that have appeared since we have been to the various places we travelled to today.
Of course some of us have found some of the geocaches along the way and at other locations others of us had not found the geocaches there. From Nanango to Nanango I drove approximately 650 Klm's for the day and arrived back home in Nanango at 1715hours.
Triciac2 found the most as she had not cached much along our selected route. I found the nine (9) I had on my list and Brother Colin found more than me and less than triciac2.
I parked the geomobile on the Northern side of the creek in the picnic area. We attempted to gain access from this side of the creek as there was very little water in it but this plan came unstuck. Regrouped and met on the southern side of the bridge and the container was soon in hand.

On a cache day run with Youngoldfellow and Brother Colin. After some cooler weather we have a beautiful warm day for our drive. Clever hide. After all the dry weather it was wonderful to see all the green grass and surface water beside the roads. Always great to be reminded about our history. Several vans were enjoying this beautiful site. Tftc
We've used the nearby facilities many times over the years while on our travels through the area. But we've never stopped on the other side of the bridge before. Thanks for the parking WP. And thanks to the good hint we found the cache right where we thought it should be. Our GPSr was bouncing and had us 'over there' then 'back there'... everywhere except GZ.
First to sign the nice new log book.
