Did not find! Although more correctly, did not retrieve it! We had magnets and a long stick but the cache did not reveal itself after many fishing attempts. Maybe it's become completely bogged! Anyway TFTC we'll try another time!
Ha! Who needs a special tool when you have Macgyver as your husband. All you need is a stick! Thanks kangadrew72! The log is very wet.
After a dnf earlier, I knew I had the right tool to grab this guy so parked near GZ and headed over...then headed back to get the tool, returned, broke the tool, went back to get another version of this tool which I happen to have, returned to GZ again, tried unsuccessfully, not to look suspicious as a Muggle passed, applied the tool, retrieved a sizable pile of metal shavings and then, finally, the cache.
As noted, the log is sopping wet, but I managed to sign, returned the cache and decided to cut my losses and head back to wait for the Geomonkey to finish umpiring A grade at the netball courts. It will be a long drive back to Geelong if they didn't play nicely...

Found. Could not sign as log is totally wet. We do have a photo if required.

We spotted a good hiding spot for the cache but had to use a torch to get our eye in! This cache was a good reason to add another tool to our kit. TFTC
A little unprepared, never the less we retrieved the cache thanks to an occy strap and some serious surgical skills.

OMG!! My geocaching partner in Crime (PenMatJack) did a McGuyver in this one as we did not have the required tool- but alas we did have an occy strap! The cache was in hand within about 2-3mins!!! Yayyy!!!TFTC!
We are locals and trying to tick off all the caches in the area. Thanks for this one.
Find #104 of 124 for the weekend and #1 for today.
Spent the weekend in Anglesea with the intention of completing the nearby powertrail.
This was a fun find - initially got distracted by the wrong colour and wrong sized poles - once we realised our tool wouldn't reach we widened the search and found the cleverly hidden cache. A favourite point for the design of the cache and also the boldness of the hide!

Our first find for the day as we picked up a few of the Anglesea caches before returning to try and complete the G2A trail.
Having obtained the necessary tool on our caching trip around Tassie in September last year, we were keen to put it to use. A fav point from me for the clever find, even if we did get sidetracked with the wrong spot to start off with.
Thanks for the fun

Found on a great geocaching day out in Anglesea with our friends, suss vulture. On the way to the football oval, we came to this cache very quickly. Once we got to GZ, it was a very quick find – luckily, it wasn’t as muddy as we have heard! We didn’t use the intended method of getting the cache, but it was still a very nice hide. TFTC!
Rumaging around the Geokit and guess what?......The required geotool was there. Its former role was for nut and bolt recovery within the geotruck due to clumsy fat fingered geo mechanic.

We had one of the required Tools of the Trade with us, but when it got to the crunch, we managed fine without it! TFTC Kangadrew!
Joined find with another cacher who luckly had the right tool with our Kiwi group over for the Surf Coast Mega doing a few of the local trails with the log name "TEAM NZ "Thanks for placing the caches a favourt from me
found this one while waiting for a call from anymules to see if he wanted to complete the rest of the nearby power trail
My second day caching around the Surf & Coast Mega.
After leaving the second CITO, we needed to pick up something at the YMCA.
While the driver was busy, I decided to walk down to collect the nearest cache.
A nearby Munzee had me puzzled, by now a NZ mob drove up & they had a go too.
After no luck with the Munzee, we turned our attention to the cache which I had the appropriate tool.
Thanks for the cool cache kangardrew72, was good to meet you during the Tournament presentation.

After the Sims_family mum sat in on the Earth cache presentation back at the Mega site will I entertained the kiddies with a play at the park and some good old chip sandwiches for lunch we made a quick stop here after picking up mum.
We didn't even need to get the GPS device out as there were cachers already at GZ. Here we meet The Famous Geo5. The cache isn't in the condition that it was originally deployed. No tool is or was required to retrieve it. We were armed with the correct tool anyway if it was needed.
Thank you kangadrew72 for the hunt and the intended retrieval process.

Sunday morning was our time to volunteer at the Mega - G doing car parking and me doing registration. Being the second day it was fairly quiet with most activity being the Bingo sheets, a fun time was had by me anyway! lol
After our timeslot was up we then went to find all the Lab Caches with Q1 and lb, just making it back in time for their Where-i-go session with Day. Once that was finished Q1 and lb had to head back to Melbourne but lucky us are staying another night so we went a-caching again lol
We found this one as we were leaving the Mega site after our timeslot...... Well as you can imagine this one was already in someones hands when we approached so no TOTT needed lol

What a great coincidence! Show weekend in Canterbury and the Surf Coast mega at the same time! How convenient! So off to the airport, onto the plane, and over the ditch I went in search of adventure!
After spending the second night in Apollo Bay, I was heading back towards the event, and eventually, the airport. A few more finds for the trip! I was a little worried about not having the right tool, but anything was possible here! TFTC!!

At the mega . Just thought I would get this one as it was in the vicinity Tftc
Quick find today on the last day of the mega. Had lots of fun. Got bit by mossies and spotted lots of birds but no snakes
Headed down to the surfcoast today to attend the mega event. After meeting a few people and swapping some Pathtags it was time to head off to find some caches. Our search took us to many places along the coast line from bells beach down to Aireys inlet. Many great sites were seen and a lot of new caches meet and talked to. Geo-baby enjoyed the day and was asleep on the road home before we even got out of Anglesea.
Heading home and quickly grabbed this on our way out of mega. First looked in the wrong spot until a nice cacher told me I was cold. After a quick re-evaluation I soon had the cache in hand
Log signed and replaced.

Found it! With the better halfs doing Mega stuff A from team Morcs4 and M did a bit of touring about to pick up the odd cache and see some of the sights around Anglesea. Once we got back to event site the gals had finished the sesions they were doing and we said our goodbyes to the organisers and fellow cachers and made our way back to our cars. Which happened to be parked right beside this cache so we nabbed it...TFTC...?
This one was very easy the owner was there doing some gardening thanks for the cache

I managed to make a late Sunday afternoon Mega dash down to Anglesea after a busy weekend, arriving just after 3pm. Despite the lateness I still had time to visit a range of local caches, chat with new and old friends about all things caching and most importantly get out and about. After a few hours of frantic caching I turned the car for home again after my second Mega event weekend having completed a range of traditionals, multis, earthcaches, letterboxes and events of course including another well arranged and carried out Mega event. Thanks to all the people involved in all the fun and to all the local cachers for putting out and maintaining all the hides for us to enjoy finding. Another successful Mega weekend, can't wait for the next one.
Caching while down for the Mega Event. We think the cache may have been dislodged during the weekend. No tool needed.

Down for the mega. I joined Happy pants, Happy feet 1 & omegaman1971 for a day of caching. We had the required Tool, but didn't need it to retrieve the cache as some other 'Tool' had pulled the housing out of the ground. TFTC kangadrew72.

After a long morning of caching it was time to hit the mega, but not before we tackled this one.
Unfortunately it looks like someone has pulled the complete container up!

After collecting the Mmm multi on the way to the Mega this morning, filling in a bingo sheet, and chatting to the friendly crowd at the event, it was time to hunt down a few more geocaches in the vicinity. Muggle Hubby made quick work of this one, signed the log, and were on our way along the Surf Coast to Lorne.

Being the closest cache to the Mega event, and our car on day two, so the pick up and log sign was a must.

Found with Muggle-L before heading into the Mega site for the final day - we didn't have the correct tool to do the job but from previous reports suspected that it may not be necessary, which turned out to be the case (got one now - you can buy anything from the stall tables!).
Thanks for the cache kangadrew72 - hopefully now the Mega's done this one will get some respite!

Not too sure that this one is in the condition that it was in when it was placed. Magnets as the title suggests were not needed. It was a quick stop after collecting the final in the series for the weekend.

After spending a couple of hours chatting at the Mega event I headed back to my car and saw a couple of suspicious looking characters leaving the area.
Oh wow, a cache on 20m from my car. I was too keen to get into the event and forgot about even looking for caches. A nice easy find and I was off to look for all the Lab caches.
Thanks kangadrew72 for the cache, the hunt, the adventure and the fun.

Despite a very busy weekend, I managed to get to the mega Sunday morning and get a few caches around town. Had to do the closest one to the mega !!! TFTC.
Disappointed that this one didn't seem to be operating as designed. Log found but no need for the extender. I see that the CO has visited since so it should be back on track!

My deepest and sincerest apologies for the absolutely woeful logging time for this cache. I currently have a backlog of 460 found it logs from the last three years. Yikes! Obviously, many of these will be difficult to remember and with such a big backlog I simply have to do a default log (other than a few special favourites along the way). I am writing this on the 18th of May 2019, when this log is for 12/11/2016 Thanks to all of the owners and sorry for the pitiful log!
Found with becca85, GemmaSistema & boo09 while in Anglesea for a few days. Sorry for such late logging. TFTC!
Apologies for the late logging of the cache.
Found on Day 3 of Surf Coast Event four day adventure.
Today we made our way to Anglesea for the Mega Event, including the official opening, and of course those elusive lab caches, before heading back to Geelong to the tackle the Its Puzzle Time series, and a pleasant drive through the You Yangs. And to make it a long and productive day, some night caching along Portarlington Road to finish things off!
Thanks kangadrew72 for putting out the cache and the hunt!

Plans were made to head to another Melbourne Mega Event with Rapidlywild. We spent many a late night in the months leading up the event solving the chosen puzzles and mapping our journey around the area.
After a well deserved rest, our first stop for our second day was the event, a great turnout. Well done to the organisers. With smiles on our dials we were off in search of some containers, some were tricky and some smacked us in the face. We met some new geocachers who joined in the search for some of the tougher ones along the trail, and even had time to stop for a selfie with some familiar faces from Canberra.
Thanks for the fun and games. [8)]

After checking in at the Mega, we left the venue to head towards our Activity Location where we were volunteering for the day, but we had a little bit of time to kill first, so we grabbed some morning tea and a couple of caches before setting off into the bush. This was a quick grab and cachers were coming and going in all directions, which held us up more - yakking of course. TFTC kangadrew72.

Once again I travelled down to a "local" mega with Tyred n Cranky for a day trip.
After donning on the Henchmen shirt I was put on to the Family games and had fun helping out at each activity.
My first activity site for the family game was a very short walk to GZ. So after setting up, I made a quick dash to make a find before all the family entertainment began.

We do not own one of these tools, whilst handy and probably would've helped retrieve a few cache over the years, we've seemed to manage for 11 years of caching without it.
Happened to be in the hands of other cachers when we arrived, so our name is in the log too.

Day 5 of my week long visit to Victoria.
Having settled into the digs at Anglesea for three nights it was time for some serious mega caching and the Q2A and a heap of puzzles, multi's and great caches were already found. But today was Mega day and the competition was going to be the focus. Our team was to be GOTHS plus 1. GOTHS being the Geocachers Of The HillS - a group of SA cachers. Myself, mogni and Aussie M&M were the GOTHS members and local cacher Bushfire was the plus ![:o)]
Our park for the Mega was very close to here so we called in and found this one on the way up.

The day of the Surf Coast Mega had finally arrived. We (Gunnie69, The Green Geckos, Ghost Gums and myself) had teamed up for an assault on some carefully chosen puzzles caches (read that as the ones we were actually able to solve), earth caches, challenges, letterboxes and a smattering of other caches thrown into the mix to make it more interesting. Quality, not quantity was our mantra on this quest. But it still hurt to have to leave so many left unfound...
Having started today a little later than we had intended, we were trying to make up for lost time this morning and still make it to the mega in a timely manner. But somehow we kept getting sidetracked by unusual DT combos and such, but we still got there for the formalities, just. And as is usually the case when attending big events interstate, I was torn between wanting to mingle and socialise longer at the main event, or get back out there and do some more caching. The lure of the smileys won out and all too soon, we were back on the road again, tracking down all the lab caches that were on offer.
This wasn't one of the puzzles that was on our hit list , but we weren't about to drive off and leave it behind either, considering we were parked only metres from gz to attend the event. Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache kangdrew72. Hopefully I will return to this area sometime in the future when I have more time to explore and enjoy everything it has to offer more then...
Over for the Surf Coast Mega with tmann421 enjoying the area and collecting caches along the way.

After a lot of fun completing the night caches on the foreshore section of the river with a sizable group, I decided that I needed a bit more exercise... and maybe a bit of alone time after a busy social day. Thus, eschewing the offers of a lift back to the YMCA camp, I followed the foreshore trails back around to the nearby Paul the Hippy hide, and then this one.
I have one of the requisite tools on board, but it was obvious upon arrival that a number of others didn't, so the hide had taken a bit of a battering over the past couple of days.
Thanks for the hide, and the lift to the night caches, kangadrew72.
