Accio 08:54:34Fangsoki, Crew 153 and I have been here over the ditch for a couple days for the Mega and today we are departing ... and the sun came out! The drive north to Christchurch interspersed with a few cache stops. This stop was for other purposes- but we found this one while we in the spot. Lots of fun getting us old men across the road, and back, without joining the 'residents'.Thanks team_macdonald, Rayzr2 for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #12838}*
Pprime, Crew 153, and I were in the area and decided to drop in on this one. After a bit of working out, we soon found the prize safe and sound. I wish we would had done this one in a southbound direction instead of a northbound direction. The traffic was certainly up there.A great place for a Multi in a nice little cemetery. TFTC team_macdonald and Rayzr2
Pprime, Fangsoki and I stopped off here to see if the old archived cache was still here.We didn't find it but we did find this cache.TFTC team_macdonald
Today we found Final Resting Place #1 Winslow (CANTERBURY) on our travels. Having been going since 5:30am this morning getting ourselves to Melbourne airport, after a brief sojourn across the ditch it wasnt long before I spotted my favourite part of flying into the South Island. The fabulous alps were below and just like that we were in Christchurch. We decided to break our drive from Christchurch to Dunedin with this nice straight forward multi. Numbers discovered and applied and soon after log signed.so many caches, not enough time! Thanks team_macdonald for being part of our geocaching fun.
On our way southwards and meeting other Mega folk.Found this on the second parking attempt. Thanks team macdonald
Found with MummyPenny as we head to the Mega. We were led astray by the car nav and took a tortuous route to get to GZ. Ran into some others heading south. Thanks team_macdonald.
Finally the time has come - The GeoToroa Dunedin Mega!JustLookingOO has arrived in Christchurch from Wellington and we are driving down together, hunting down some multis on the way.We arrived at the front gate of the cemetery and saw what could only be other geocachers around GZ. We strolled over and introduced ourselves to the couple who are here from Australia for the Mega. A quick signing of the log, and chat, and we were all on our way again. Thanks for another cache.
Took a break along here while driving south today. A nice quick wander around to collect the info before heading over to the nearby final. No problems finding the cache here, cheers
Not sure what the last finder is talking about but there definetly was a cache container. A nice multi that led to a quick enough find. Thanks!
Found all the answers and completed a set of coordinates. The hint seemed plausible, but there was no cache container. Picture and co ordinates to CO
After finishing the multi we went to the solved coordinates and there was bark and sticks but no container at all. Send photo to CO. TFTC
Quickly gathered the required information and cache was a quick find. A cemetery that I haven’t visited before
Sorted the numbers out ok and made my way to GZ for a pretty quick find. Currently on a roadtrip to Wellington from Dunedin.
Thanks for the cache, team_macdonald

I must say we have a tendency to avoid these multis where you have to find headstones to find the numbers as you can spend ages looking for them. But this little cemetery made finding the headstones needed easy and we soon had the coordinates we needed for the cache. By the time I did the sums M was already looking in the most likely place and he was spot on. We got to the hint object at the same time and made a quick find. Nice multi, thanks to the COs.
Lots of road noise, so not too peaceful. Information was quickly located and the cache was soon in hand; TFTC
Great little spot but not exactly quiet. Thanks for making me stop and look around.
I was pleased to stop & claim this Multi on a drive South - few stops for caching, but I made them count!
A lovely day (but rained later, further south) and nobody around. Old cemeteries are an nterst of mine - and this one has so few graves that it was quick to collect the info. Cache quickly found.
Thanks for the Multi & the cache, team_macdonald & Rayzr2.

Out for a drive to get some caches for the last part of the reach the peaks challenge. This was a nice and easy find. Thanks gir he cache.
Not the most peaceful resting place on a busy Sunday afternoon with all the traffic thundering past. The numbers were soon sorted and the cache was a quick find. TFTC.
Another cache that I've driven past many times. Just enough daylight left to try this one today... I'm always tempted to just guess the final for these, and probably would have got it right here. But it was a nice wander, and not too onerous. TFTC.
Having a long weekend and decided to head up to Christchurch to meet friends. The rest of the weekend was spent geocaching, grabbing many of the puzzles solved during lockdown.
This was my last day up and so decided to drive around some back roads to grab caches before heading south and home.
All good.
***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
[NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!
I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners

Passing by in the evening. Great multi to do by torchlight..eerie as. Thought it time enough to start to try and tick off the odd random cache that I always seem to drive ion past. Nice to stop here - haven;'t really noticed the cemetery before! Great fun to do with the smell of roasting malt wafting over the fence. Cheers.
Today my geocaching mission was to plug the last remaining 'minute' gaps in order to complete the S43 challenge. So I set off early in the morning, heading South from Christchurch to places where I obviously hadn't cached before. I think that this was about as far south as I needed to come today. Had a careful wander around this small resting place finding the information needed to find the cache. Found that after a short search. TFTC, Biggles.
Found with sister. Love the smaller ones better than the larger ones. Also love the forward planning for this cemetery - will take years to fill.
Found with nissan 65. Flew in from sydney for a short holiday. Hoping to see as much as i can on the south island and pick up caches along the way . Thanku for the cache. Nice quick multi
Out with Busy paws today doing a few caches. Between the two of us we made short work of the co-ords and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC!
You could blink and miss this. A heron was stalking all over the grounds, heaven knows if it got enough food to survive. Worked with Geomum007 to get the nice smiley, as usual, some sorrow among the graves, the ages---. TFTH and taking us there
Today's task was to try and clean sweep all my unfounds (bar 1) between the Ashburton & Rangitata Rivers, east of SH1 This is the 3rd resting place cache that I have found today. I am really getting into the swing of things.[^] TFTC team. Cheers.
A bit of a wander around while the young one was still sleeping then a few goes at the final. Ah ha, there it goes. The place sure does look different to the last cache I found in here - a few less trees now! Cheers
Heading South for a break and a bit of Geocaching. Grabbing a few between Christchurch and Oamaru. Mrs banian is always on the lookout for cemetery caches.
Signed log, TFTC team_macdonald.

Nice quick find, watch your footing as there is a hidden hole on the way to final.
A lovely little cemetery, didn’t even know it was here! Soon worked out the hiding place and the log was signed. TFTC
Stopped here after an afternoon at Lake Hood. Had planned to find this for The Monthly Challenge and it was a nice quick find. TFTC
Needed a different sort of cache to get the February spelling challenge. Spotted this on the way north and it fitted the bill. Thanks for the cache!
We soon found the necessary numbers and the cache was a fairly quick find. Major construction work going on next door. TFTC
One of the earlier geocaches I found was at this cemetery. There was a large row of trees along the northern side and I drove past it a number of times not even realising there was anything behind the trees. Finally made the time to stop and figure out where the entrance was.
The area has been tidied up a lot since then. Rather saddening to see the gravestones for those who died so young.
Thanks for the cache, all in good condition.

Out with Aslan on the long weekend signed SS Aslan*. Thanks for the great hide
Nice little cemetery and interesting place to visit and I had never notice this one before. TFTH
A weekend trip away with Nosynel. A bit colder today than yesterday.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
I was suffering from cabin fever. Lucky for me Bbear came to the rescue and suggested a weekend away.
We had spent the night in Ashburton after a fun event and before we headed home to Christchurch found a few geocaches.
This was one of the easiest ones of this series.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. team_macdonald, Rayzr2 for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 4963 for me.

#13974. First find of our trip to Timaru. Good job we left today rather than yesterday (gave ex-Cyclone Cook a chance to clear off). TFTC (enjoying the series).
Found en route south to Timaru for a shortened Easter break. The weather forecast was for fine weather, but there was a little bit of drizzle about and after all the rain, it was very wet underfoot.
I had pre-solved this multi using a web site I had found so we were able to go straight to the final. What a tiny wee cemetery it is so it would have taken very little time to gather the information anyway. TFTC,

Wandered around the final resting place and managed to find the cache pretty quickly. Cheers.
Bother the weather. Decided to head to Oamaru after reviewing the forecasts. The best of a bad deal. Had a great couple of days caching too, though slightly wet at times.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Found on the way south to ride the Geraldine Walkway. Didn't solve it the conventional way, just used the hint. TFTC.
Enjoyed the chase and such a tiny cemetery. You can whizz by here and not know it. Not far to the final. Thanks.
Once again taken by writings on headstones then rested and put coordinates together then was able find thanks for cache
After reading the head stones when out with creek road girls and chiko 1 we figured out the co ordinates and found the cache. Very peaceful spot
After searching for information on head stones found the cache after figuring out coordinates . great day for caching
Had a great road trip around the Canterbury Plains caching today 122 for the day many thanks to all the cache owners. - Bitsprayer
Found on our caching journey into Canterbury today. Cache all good. Another nice tidy resting place. TFTC
I really enjoy wandering around cemeteries and combining this with searching for the clues for a multi adds to the enjoyment. Didn't have a lot of time today so bypassed the one at Hinds to stop here. nice little cemetery which made it a lot easier than most to gather the data, make the find and head off again. Look forward to completing some more of the series next time I'm down. TFTC #8948
Enjoying this South Island trip and had a great time touring the area and collecting caches taking us to some remote locations with tmann421.
Another good find here adding to the fun of our trip. TFTC
