EN : After visiting Lower Tama Lake and Hupper Tama Lake, we take the path back to the parking lot. Our guide has the good idea to take us through another path where several boxes have been hidden there. Here, it is our guide who will find the location of the cache. He didn't know this game but is very interested in it; other tourists will perhaps tell him about it.... Thank you to all the installers for the work carried out for our greatest pleasure. Greetings from France. Trip to New Zealand decided very quickly , but that did not stop us from preparing a small file of caches to search, as far as possible. The GC46 is, of course, at the top of this list! Our program should allow us to discover a large part of this country.FR : Aprs avoir visit les lacs Lower Tama Lake et Hupper Tama Lake, nous reprenons le chemin vers le parking. There is not space to write, so I made my signature on side of paper next to other signatures. Thanks for the cache. Yesterday I was at Red Crater, tomorrow I continue around Mt Ruapehu. Today I have easy day, only visiting two waterfalls close to Whakapapa Village.
We walk The Taranaki Falls track .A Nice walk. The weather was Nice bus later The rain was falling in The end of The walk. The most of The log papers were full.
We are on a roadtrip through New Zealand and for two nights we stayed near Tongariro. Yesterday we did the Silica Rapids, but today we are in for a longer hike. We do the Tama lakes track and luckily there are some caches on the first leap of this track and near the lakes. At the start we had some muggles walking in front and behind us so that took a little while longer. We found the caches quite quickly and had a wonderful time on this beautiful track.
Together with Birba68 we walk today to the Taranaki falls. This nice little cache-round, was perfect for us. We found all the Caches very easy, but the lookbook of the most are rallye full. In some Cache the number for the Bonus is missing, with logic is possible to find the bonus. Thank you
Today, together with Schatoh68, I made a stunning caching-tour in the Tongariro National Park. This cache has to be taken thanks!
This one had us looking the longest of the lots, but once we got ourselves into the right spot we quickly had it in hand. Tftc

Found together with Kendar05. Thank you for the cache. Greetings from Czech Republic.
Found together with Heureka10.Thanks for the cache.Greetings from Czech Republic.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. Yesterday we drove to Tongariro National Park from Wellington. Part of our team is hiking the Tongariro Crossing. We are lucky because the weather looks good. Mostly blue sky, some clouds, some sun and a nice temperature. Unfortunately the hike it just too much for the other half of the team. Not worries, there are plenty of other beautiful, less difficult and though walks around here. Also as LOTR fans we just had to visit the caches of this series. All the still active caches were found and the hints for the bonus were collected. Thank you very much for this series.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived yesterday in Tongariro National Park. The weather is beautiful and we are going for a nice walk. This cache was found during a walk to the Taranaki Falls.**yorkshirekiwi83**, thanks for the cache.
We are on a trip in New Zealand. A wonderful country with a lot of (old )caches. There are too many caches so we limit ourselves to the (old) gems or where we happen to make a stop. We found and signed this cache in good condition. yorkshirekiwi83, thank you for this cache, regards xizat-NL. Take care, this hobby can develop to an addiction.
2024 12:16. Dank je wel yorkshirekiwi83 voor deze cache. Groetjes van mij 1616 uit Eindhoven
TFTC! Greetings from Estonia! Found this cache while travelling around Tongariro National Park.

Cesta mi zabrala s focenm a hlednm asi 3 hodiny a v tom krsnm poas jsem si ji moc uila. Vodopdy pekvapily. Dolovila jsem u drive in njak dal keky a pak vyjela v do hor do Mordoru. Taky u tu pomalu zavrali. After the night and morning rain, I was afraid that it would be nasty all day, but fortunately the sun came out around 10 a.m. and stayed in the sky. I only drove to the settlement of Whakapapa and set off from there to the LOTR trail, which unfortunately is not much left. I found all the caches, their condition is quite sad. Logbooks are completely full and often damp. I was still pleased with them and especially the walk to Taranaki Falls was great. Across flowering moors with views of Lonely Mountain. I felt like Bilbo Baggins. Then I went up to Mordor and I could totally see the scenes from the movie where Frodo and Sam wander around. I really enjoyed the day, found a lot of caches and walked in the beautiful countryside. Thanks to everyone for their caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
Our way through New Zealand took us to the National Park. Fortunately, we were able to take a nice walk there and look for a whole host of geocaches. We enjoyed this tour with great pleasure. Thank you CO for making it available. With friendly geocache greetings from the Netherlands
This was the one GC I missed on the loop when I was here a year or two ago. Very pleased to turn this into a smiley. The cache was a little smaller than I expected but the hint was accurate. Im not sure why it was difficult last time. TFTC
We startetd the day with the Taranaki Fall Trail in Tongariro National Park incl the reaminng LOTR caches in this area. In the afternoon we arrived in Otorohanga where we still the next night. It was a good decision to get up earlier and go for the trail at 8:15am. When we finishe dthe 6km walk the sun was burning and it was quite warm. We enjoed some parts in the shadows with fresh air in the woods and nice views at Mount Doom. Except the disabled cache we foudn all reamining LOTR caches - unfortunately some of them are not in a good shape and many logbooks are quite full. Nevertheless we were happy to walk through Mordor and came back safe. Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cache.Happy hunting!TFTCschnuckel1[#24181]
Yesterday, I got the news that the Shuttle Service for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing Had been canceled due to the heavy Wind. So I had been looking for Plan B which I found quickly: Hiking the Tama Lakes Tramping Track, 17km Return about 5 to 6 hours. As this track is an extension of the Taranaki Falls Track, I was sure to find some nice caches all along the way up to Tama Lakes and back. I was looking forward to visiting the LOTR villains caches which all could be found. Although the logbooks are quite full and some bonus information is missing. Nevertheless, the Bonus was managable and a quick find! The Track, the Lake and the area are stunning. What a wonderful area! We are enjoying looking around New Zealand, full of wonderful places, landscapes and attractions. And so its always good to come across some caches when visiting new places.Thank you to all Cache owners for the caches and their maintenance and making this a wonderful around the world hobby.Thank you for this cache and greetings from Germanyaussi96
**Log about this cache:**Today is the sad story of no Tongariro crossing because of the bad weather.A little brightness for one hour give us te opion to visit Taranaki falls. After the visit off the falls there was a lot off rain...it starts to rain but I found it after a time of searching.**General log:**After years of planning and the canceling of trip due to the corona crisis, the time had finally come:****"more than 5 weeks in New Zealand".**And how beautiful it was!Visited both the north and south islands, many tourist attractions have a cache nearby so I could do some as well.Lots of virtuals and earth caches too and traditionals. But also done a few multi caches here and there also even a mystery and wherigo cache. The trip to New Zealand was great and we saw a lot of nice places. The country has so many different types of landscapes. And the nice thing was that it is winter in the Netherlands but summer in New Zealand Too bad it takes so long to fly and that the flight is so expensive otherwise i can go here next year again. Now you can enjoy it, logging the caches is also part of it. I will try to email the answers for the earthcaches and virtual caches to the relevant co`s as soon as possible. But first log all caches and upload the photos .Submitted via Garmin Live Geocaching
Descriptive hint had the cache in hand quickly. Time was of the essence to not get passed on the track by the troop of retirees. TFTC
3 weeks (adventure) vacation in New Zealand ???????? for dschinny and me. We were very excited about what awaits us and simply were looking forward to a wonderful time together in this beautiful country ?? We spent 1.5 weeks on the North Island and the rest of the time on the South Island, had an incredible time, visited so many interesting/awesome/breathtaking spots and locations - I am sure that we will never forget this time here at New Zealand our whole life!Yesterday we hiked the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing. What an adventure, what a stunning landscape around us! The colors of these lakes are magical. We spent much time around the lakes and took so many pictures ?? A very long day full of excellent views, some caches and so many memorable moments ??Today we visited some caches at Tongariro National Park - including this cache. Unfortunately we hadnt had much time to discover this National Park for more than only 5 hours, but we made a lovely walk to Taranaki Falls. It was very hot today so this walk wasnt easy, we were happy about the times that we could spent in the rare shadows on the way to Taranaki Falls. We were also able to find this cache today and could sign its logbook. Thanks a lot for this cache and many greetings from two German GC-crazy New Zealand vacationers ???? zh9 ??
???????????? dschinny & zh9 // Road Trip New Zealand 2024 ????????????From Auckland zh9 and I went further and further south for 3 weeks, we saw and experienced so much that I could write an entire book about our vacation here. Hot springs in Rotorua, swimming and hiking in Abel Tasman National Park, the strenuous and long but indescribably beautiful and impressive Tongariro Alpine Crossing, black water rafting in Waitomo Caves, Foo Fighters live in Christchurch, night hike through Wildlife Sanctuary Zealandia and so much more . Simply indescribable.Of course there was a lot of caching, including today. Thanks to geocaching we saw and discovered many places, viewpoints and other locations that we would certainly not have visited as a normal tourist.Today was THE day. The day zh9 had been looking forward to for months ??. The day I had the most respect for ??. Today was the day we wanted to attempt the infamous Tongariro Alpine Crossing adventure ????????? We had read a number of reviews in advance and had a slight idea of ??what to expect here. And somehow everything fit and none of it fit at all ????. It was an adventure, an experience, it was exhausting, it was beautiful, it was my pushing-your-own-limits experience. I'm definitely not a trained hiker, at least not in this terrain. It was mega-exhausting. But it was worth the effort. What a landscape - incredible! Of course we also visited the caches that we could visit along this way. Good for me, I was always able to take a little breather ??.We also looked for this cache today and left our names in the logbook. I'm attaching a few photos of our adventurous Tongariro Alpine Crossing to my log.Best wishes from Northern Germany,????? dschinny ?????

While our daughter went for the 'big one' the Tongario Alpine Trail, my wife and I did the small ones. When I arrived at the coordinates a family was already searching for the cache. It's good to have young ones who can crawl in every crevice. .The cache was soon found and logged.Best regards,CrankyGerman
This one had migrated to the rear of the stack, found and replaced as per hint. A day trip out during the Xmas has become a bit of a scene these last few years for daughter Liv and I. Weve been Richmond Ranges overnighting in a hut, Te Aroha for an oldie cache, and this years iteration was a trip up Whakapapa for a trip out to Taranaki Falls, Silica springs as well as another couple of other side walks. We managed over 39 finds for the day and looped back via the Desert Road after heading in via Ohakune and helping a couple of SOBO TA walkers. Thanks to all COS for their hides, there were a few wet LOTR ones but managed to add a mark here or there.
Here from the U.S. and enjoying the hike to the waterfall. This one took a bit longer to find, but I finally got it. Thanks!
After hike Tongariro Alpine Crossing, we made another small hike to the falls near Whakapapa village. It was really nice walking with a lot of caches. Thanks you a lot for this cache. Greetings from Slovakia.
We thoroughly enjoyed our walk out to the Taranaki Falls, made all the more enjoyable by this series of caches; thank you immensely for the hard work that would have been involved in setting these up.
Loving our trip to NZ. Our trip today to Tongariro National Park to do some hiking was a highlight we will always remember. Hello from Celebration, FL. SL. TFTC!
Today a small Tour to the falls, doing the nice round here, only one we didn't find. A nice walk, thanks so much.
This one took a bit longer to locate, but all is well and the hind was much appreciated

DfdC
This one was a little tricky for me for some reason, but eventually we coincided and a picture was taken for posterity.

A nice day along the Taranaki Falls loop, so far we haven't seen anyone else, which has made all the cache stops nice and easy. Some snow on the ground, but that makes for an enjoyable walk. Thanks for the cache.
