I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
**Log about this cache:**Today is the sad story of no Tongariro crossing because of the bad weather.A little brightness for one hour give us te opion to visit Taranaki falls. After the visit off the falls there was a lot off rain...Looked every where but no find, I see now it archived**General log:**After years of planning and the canceling of trip due to the corona crisis, the time had finally come:****"more than 5 weeks in New Zealand".**And how beautiful it was!Visited both the north and south islands, many tourist attractions have a cache nearby so I could do some as well.Lots of virtuals and earth caches too and traditionals. But also done a few multi caches here and there also even a mystery and wherigo cache. The trip to New Zealand was great and we saw a lot of nice places. The country has so many different types of landscapes. And the nice thing was that it is winter in the Netherlands but summer in New Zealand Too bad it takes so long to fly and that the flight is so expensive otherwise i can go here next year again. Now you can enjoy it, logging the caches is also part of it. I will try to email the answers for the earthcaches and virtual caches to the relevant co`s as soon as possible. But first log all caches and upload the photos .Submitted via Garmin Live Geocaching

Hi yorkshirekiwi83This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
Looked, saw the obvious spot, looked a bit more aroind area as yesterday aomeone poated a find, couldnt find
Found an obvious hiding spot, but no cache. Hunted around a bit, and then decided it was time to continue with our walk.
This one sure seems missing to us. We found all the others on the Taranaki Falls loop.
Today a small Tour to the falls, doing the nice round here, only one we didn't find. A nice walk, thanks so much.
Walking to the Taranaki Falls we could find several caches on the way. But this cache we couldn't find.TFTC
Challenging hike!I had around 26k steps, we could find all exzeptionell one!Great Vulcanos and hike! Thanks for showing and the Caches!Unfortunately could we find the Cave but Not the Cache!Greetings from Germany,Schnitti
No luck here, the cache hide reminded me of a scene from the very B-grade, (but highly enjoyable when I saw it 40ish years ago ) Flash Gordon movie where se had to stick his hand in the stump to prove his mettle. I too survived but failed to find the spider...

We found what we think was the perfect spot according to the hint but could not find it
Thanks for this series, many logbooks are full, or nearly full, so they will require replacing soon.
Meghan found immediately, I was still none the wiser after having it pointed out to me haha. Cache is there though, safe and sound. Tftc
Yesterday it was very cloudy and rainy so we decided to gamble, to do this track now, before leaving the region. We were lucky with the nice warm sun.
The complete month march I am travelling on both Islands. Christchurch heading south, next the westcoast.
AbelTasman-Wellington-Rotorua-Hahei and finally Auckland.
This was one of the caches I found; thanks for showing me the area.

We, geosnuf and I, are on holiday in New Zealand.
Partly thanks to geocaches, such as this one, we come to many beautiful and special places.
Today the National Park and the Taranaki Falls trail are on our program!
We enjoy the beautiful nature, the pleasant encounters and the many nice caches.
Cache owners thank you for taking us here and for placing and maintaining this cache.
yorkshirekiwi83, thank you and greetings from NL

We decided this loop walk would be good for stiff muscles after completing the Great Walk yesterday. Thank you for placing this fun LOTR series on the loop trail. All was as it should be here.
We discovered a place very fitting to the cache description. But unfortunately there wasn't a cache ...
Great walk to the Taranaki Falls and collecting all caches on the loop, all found, greetings from Austria
Found the mint tin 'new cache' placed by the previous cachers - but it had been placed at the bottom of the stairs whereas the proper clue stated the top of the stairs so we were very surprised as the clues have been beautifully specific so far. So we checked out the top of the stairs & sure enough, the proper cache was there, after all. What to do? We removed the 'new - mint tin' cache as it had no right to be there without the owner's permission. Especially as the proper cache was in it's place as per the hint. It had been signed by one cacher and only been there 1 day. Cache is all good. TFTC
After a couple of easy finds, this turned out to be a bit of a challenge. It was a good place for walkers to stop and a couple of groups did just that so I had to wait. The cache was better hidden than I expected it to be and it took me a minute or two to get my hands on it.
This cache was missing from the tell tale hidey hole. Searched everywhere but kept coming back to the same place. We replaced the cache and log with a spare we had on hand but it is only a camo'd eclipse tin so will not be waterproof. Cache owner will probably need to replace. Thanks!
Hello,
we are really lucky with the weather and in the early morning we treated ourselves to a two-hour walk!
The destination was Middle-earth and the Taranaki Falls!
A nice round with great views and the path is beautiful!

Great loop with the kids, esp. the waterfall was really nice. Thanks for all the caches along the way!
Fairly certain we found the right spot, but after sticking our hand in and digging around we came up empty
Between two rain shower I did the Taranaki Falls circle.
The falls are great.
The cache is not well maintained, A and B is missing and the Owner does nothing. Also new Logbooks where not a luxury.
Thanks.

On the way to Tama Lakes we found most of them and always enjoyed the scenery! Thanks for showing
Today we hiked along the Taraniki Falls Walking Trail.
We searched and found all 11 Tradis. The hints were very helpful. The bonus numbers for A and B were missing.
The GeoCrickets say thank you for hiding.

Very fun find! Taking photos of all the caches on this trail since we forgot a pen.
Little nervous poking my hand into the log's home but came out with all fingers intact TFTC
On the way to Taranaki Fallls it was absolutely clear to visit all Caches from the LOTRxx series. All boxes were good to find and at the end we could sign the bonus, although we didn't have any figures, but with the right cacher-instinct is it possible too.
TFTC!

Decided to do the Taranaki Falls track and gather caches at the same time. Initially looked around wrong steps. Then nearly pushed it too far back in its little hobbit hole. Eventually retrieved and signed. Thanks
Quick find while staying at the Chateau after completing the Tongariro Northern Circuit. Tftc.
Staying at the Chateau for a couple of days with the intention of doing a bit of walking and caching. This trail was therefore a 'must do'. Thanks for setting it up. Most were pretty easy to find which I'm sure was the intention. A very enjoyable walk, enhanced by the caches.
I spent a lot of time putting my hand in holes before I found this. GPS lost a bit of accuracy and I started by looking around the wrong steps.

Set out today aiming to walk to Taranaki Falls and do The Lord Of The Rings caches and any other walks and caches we felt like and could fit in before the expected rain showed up. Luckily we made it off the mountain as the first raindrops fell, got pretty wet finding the last few caches.
Had a very successful day with just 2 did not finds. Most caches were in good condition, easy finds, some a little wet. Of course we had just started the 6km walk to Taranaki falls when my pen died. Everytime my pen dies i don't have a spare! Any other time i have 3-6 on me. So i have photos of logs if the cache owner wants. I did manage to get it working for some logs now and then.
Very happy to get another 'bucket list' walk ticked off. Log was full. Thanks for the cache yorkshirekiwi.

Found myself with an afternoon to spare. Nice little trail to fill in the time, and some waterfalls too. Had a little paddle while at the falls.
All good here, both container and logbook were in good condition, nice walk under the frest and nice idea to have caches along this walk, there are really few people around, so makes it easier for us. The difficult rating is not reflective of the walk, we had caches with a rating 4 on the Crossing which was way harder than this short walk on very well maintained terrain, with just a few stairs.
So Day 1 of my four-day tramp on the Tongariro Northern Circuit has commenced. A 10am start with only 12km to walk to Mangatapopo Hut means that I have time to take the long way around allowing me to pick up as many of this series of caches as I can and also try for the final, Bonus.
I interpreted the hint in a few ways but thankfully I found fewer possible hiding places than interpretations. Fat fingers pushed the cache in a little way but a handy stock helped me flick it back within reach.
Thanks yorkshirekiwi83

Thanks yorkshirekiwi83 for the cache. It’s #1565 for us. We found your cache on 1 January 2022. Tricky extraction! GPS caused us to overshoot! No pen pic attached
Really sorry for the repeat log but did the Taranaki Falls loop with two tweens. Your caches were what kept them putting one foot in front of the other. We only used the description for the first 2 then having got the feel for your style we did the rest clueless and it was a race between the girls to be the first to grab it. So thank you very much for putting these in place. The weather was stunning. Had an amazing day ending with a rather late lunch at The Chateau.
