EN : Fourth day in New Zealand. Today we are going for a hike to Lower Tama Lake and Upper Tama Lake. The clouds are very present . Fortunately, we will have the chance to see the sun in the afternoon. Thank you to all the installers for the work carried out for our greatest pleasure. Greetings from France. Trip to New Zealand decided very quickly , but that did not stop us from preparing a small file of caches to search, as far as possible. The GC46 is, of course, at the top of this list! 344 | 5 November 2024 12:11TFTC nice walkPS log is pretty full so place my signature somewhere on a free spot.
There is not space to write, so I made my signature on side of paper next to other signatures. Thanks for the cache. Yesterday I was at Red Crater, tomorrow I continue around Mt Ruapehu. Today I have easy day, only visiting two waterfalls close to Whakapapa Village.
We are on a roadtrip through New Zealand and for two nights we stayed near Tongariro. Yesterday we did the Silica Rapids, but today we are in for a longer hike. We do the Tama lakes track and luckily there are some caches on the first leap of this track and near the lakes. At the start we had some muggles walking in front and behind us so that took a little while longer. We found the caches quite quickly and had a wonderful time on this beautiful track.
Today, together with Schatoh68, I made a stunning caching-tour in the Tongariro National Park. This cache has to be taken thanks!
Together with Birba68 we walk today to the Taranaki falls. This nice little cache-round, was perfect for us. We found all the Caches very easy, but the lookbook of the most are rallye full. In some Cache the number for the Bonus is missing, with logic is possible to find the bonus. Thank you
Thanks for this neat hide yorkshirekiwi83 We are visiting from Darwin, Australia and doing the Taranaki Falls loop track (lower section only). It was a beautiful walk and lovely weather. The log was pretty chocka block - nowhere left to sign so have attached picture for proof
Today we walk to the Taranaki Falls, a beautiful area and of course the waterfall is super cool. Tftc

We are on a trip in New Zealand. A wonderful country with a lot of (old )caches. There are too many caches so we limit ourselves to the (old) gems or where we happen to make a stop. We found and signed this cache in good condition. yorkshirekiwi83, thank you for this cache, regards xizat-NL. Take care, this hobby can develop to an addiction.
2024 10:31. Dank je wel yorkshirekiwi83 voor deze cache. Groetjes van mij 1614 uit Eindhoven
Family walk in the park. Very busy track so a quick spot and grab by miss 11 between groups. Tftc
Fewer muggles on this part of the walk but still needed to be cautious. Tftc
TFTC! Greetings from Estonia! Found this cache while travelling around Tongariro National Park.
Found on the Taranaki Falls Track. Thanks for the cache says Team Kleiner Donner Greetings from Germany
Cesta mi zabrala s focenm a hlednm asi 3 hodiny a v tom krsnm poas jsem si ji moc uila. Vodopdy pekvapily. Dolovila jsem u drive in njak dal keky a pak vyjela v do hor do Mordoru. Taky u tu pomalu zavrali. After the night and morning rain, I was afraid that it would be nasty all day, but fortunately the sun came out around 10 a.m. and stayed in the sky. I only drove to the settlement of Whakapapa and set off from there to the LOTR trail, which unfortunately is not much left. I found all the caches, their condition is quite sad. Logbooks are completely full and often damp. I was still pleased with them and especially the walk to Taranaki Falls was great. Across flowering moors with views of Lonely Mountain. I felt like Bilbo Baggins. Then I went up to Mordor and I could totally see the scenes from the movie where Frodo and Sam wander around. I really enjoyed the day, found a lot of caches and walked in the beautiful countryside. Thanks to everyone for their caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
Our way through New Zealand took us to the National Park. Fortunately, we were able to take a nice walk there and look for a whole host of geocaches. We enjoyed this tour with great pleasure. Thank you CO for making it available. With friendly geocache greetings from the Netherlands
We startetd the day with the Taranaki Fall Trail in Tongariro National Park incl the reaminng LOTR caches in this area. In the afternoon we arrived in Otorohanga where we still the next night. It was a good decision to get up earlier and go for the trail at 8:15am. When we finishe dthe 6km walk the sun was burning and it was quite warm. We enjoed some parts in the shadows with fresh air in the woods and nice views at Mount Doom. Except the disabled cache we foudn all reamining LOTR caches - unfortunately some of them are not in a good shape and many logbooks are quite full. Nevertheless we were happy to walk through Mordor and came back safe. Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cache.Happy hunting!TFTCschnuckel1[#24185]
Yesterday, I got the news that the Shuttle Service for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing Had been canceled due to the heavy Wind. So I had been looking for Plan B which I found quickly: Hiking the Tama Lakes Tramping Track, 17km Return about 5 to 6 hours. As this track is an extension of the Taranaki Falls Track, I was sure to find some nice caches all along the way up to Tama Lakes and back. I was looking forward to visiting the LOTR villains caches which all could be found. Although the logbooks are quite full and some bonus information is missing. Nevertheless, the Bonus was managable and a quick find! The Track, the Lake and the area are stunning. What a wonderful area! We are enjoying looking around New Zealand, full of wonderful places, landscapes and attractions. And so its always good to come across some caches when visiting new places.Thank you to all Cache owners for the caches and their maintenance and making this a wonderful around the world hobby.Thank you for this cache and greetings from Germanyaussi96
**Log about this cache:**Today is the sad story of no Tongariro crossing because of the bad weather.A little brightness for one hour give us te opion to visit Taranaki falls. After the visit off the falls there was a lot off rain...Good to find!**General log:**After years of planning and the canceling of trip due to the corona crisis, the time had finally come:****"more than 5 weeks in New Zealand".**And how beautiful it was!Visited both the north and south islands, many tourist attractions have a cache nearby so I could do some as well.Lots of virtuals and earth caches too and traditionals. But also done a few multi caches here and there also even a mystery and wherigo cache. The trip to New Zealand was great and we saw a lot of nice places. The country has so many different types of landscapes. And the nice thing was that it is winter in the Netherlands but summer in New Zealand Too bad it takes so long to fly and that the flight is so expensive otherwise i can go here next year again. Now you can enjoy it, logging the caches is also part of it. I will try to email the answers for the earthcaches and virtual caches to the relevant co`s as soon as possible. But first log all caches and upload the photos .Submitted via Garmin Live Geocaching

We we're sitting on the bench 70m before and thought " There must be a Cache around Here". And IT was. Thanks
While our daughter went for the 'big one' the Tongario Alpine Trail, my wife and I did the small ones.I can imagine why the LOTR was filmed here. IT's beautiful and mystical.Best regards,CrankyGerman
Nice precise coordinates and hint meant for a quick find shortly after a pair of juggles oassed by.A day trip out during the Xmas has become a bit of a scene these last few years for daughter Liv and I. Weve been Richmond Ranges overnighting in a hut, Te Aroha for an oldie cache, and this years iteration was a trip up Whakapapa for a trip out to Taranaki Falls, Silica springs as well as another couple of other side walks. We managed over 39 finds for the day and looped back via the Desert Road after heading in via Ohakune and helping a couple of SOBO TA walkers. Thanks to all COS for their hides, there were a few wet LOTR ones but managed to add a mark here or there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our walk out to the Taranaki Falls, made all the more enjoyable by this series of caches; thank you immensely for the hard work that would have been involved in setting these up.
Loving our trip to NZ. Our trip today to Tongariro National Park to do some hiking was a highlight we will always remember. Hello from Celebration, FL. SL. TFTC!
Today a small Tour to the falls, doing the nice round here, only one we didn't find. A nice walk, thanks so much.
Greetings from Canberra, Australia! It was too cold and windy according to the forecast to attempt the Tongariro Crossing so we decided to walk the loop track to Taranaki Falls. There were beautiful views all around, Rupeahu and Mt Doom were partially behind clouds but they were still epic nonetheless. Quick find at GZ. TFTC!
DFDC!
Challenging hike!I had around 26k steps, we could find all exzeptionell one!Great Vulcanos and hike! Thanks for showing and the Caches!Greetings from Germany,Schnitti
DfdC
Found quickly as we walked along the track upstream.
Took a photo as the pen we didn't bring wasn't working anyway.
More to come...

We did the Taranaki Falls track today. We were lucky to not have snow during the walk but too many clouds to see the volcanoes. The falls were very beautiful !
