Logs
Found 17/10/24. Cache is smashed and a lid only with the log bag turned to mush, ill come back and place something new on behalf of CO if needed.
Miraculously I actually found it but its become part of an ant nest and is completely filled with dirt and ants. I put it back as the ants clearly own it now. It needs replacement and probably not at the same spot as the log here is well and truly ant territory.Generic summation of the day:I cooked up a plan to come to Goulburn overnight to grab some caches and AL on remembrance driveway. Had a pretty successful day, but ended up very cold.Snack situation: woeful. I started with a McMuffin and coffee for breakfast which held me over till 3pm but then I DNF two caches in a row and scrounged in my glovebox for a packet of rice crackers. Public toilet situation: they were plentiful at all the rest areas and many parks.Munzees: zeroWeather: cool, a little bit rainy at times, with a sharp drop off in temperature from 3:30pmWeirdos spotted: two kids walking down the street that said evening mam even though it was 1pm. Smoking muggle near the race course hating life pacing back and forth in front of the cache there. Dinner: Thai takeawayThanks to the cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches in Goulburn TFTC!
Spent a long time looking in the area high and low, but with no hints or clues in the comment or pictures we had nothing more to go by.
StarAlign and i drive to Goulburn for day and good weather hot/cool... Good Laugh... Hide well.. tks
A fun day here from interstate collecting a few caches for puzzles that have been in the finished pile a while, some caches started but never quite finished or others that were on our hit list. With my Namadgi Hike scheduled for today now postponed this was a great Plan B with ALL7. We had a lot of laughs as we communication our way around this lovely township.
Very hot day to walk but we got there in the end having found brown snake skin on the train line and a poor dead Carpet Python on the track nearby. Also had many spiders to contend with through the bush.
Most of the photos for this walk are uploaded on Goulburn Woodlands Reserve #1(GC6MDJ3). Quick find of python and cache. TFTC gazza959

Finalf29 and I decided on another Goulburn raid (and some more curry). This time the weather was a lot nicer and we managed an Adventure Lab, multi, lots of trads and a lovely bush walk. Thanks to all the CO's for a wonderful afternoon spent with my "bestest" geobuddy.
We decided to do the series in a clockwise direction and in numerical order. Overall we really enjoyed this bushwalk series... there were no real tracks but the bush-bashing was very easy... pleasant actually and the coordinates were spot on at each cache. The series may need a little maintenance, as the logbooks are falling apart. I'm giving a favourite point here for the whole series. Thanks

Final cache of the series. I was a little surprised to see that the container was open and that there was no log. I sent a msg and photo to co to prove the find. Turns out I had missed the co by only a few minutes when he was doing maintenance. lol. TFTC
Nice and easy find. Unfortunately someone tried to put a golf ball in the container which prevented it from closing so the container and bag were full of water. Will need a new nite book for people to sign
Heading home today, after being in Goulburn for a few days.
Decided to attempt this little series, which we passed on the way in.
We started with the multi, and did them in number order.
All were found in good condition, signed and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, gazza959, for us and others to find.

I think we are on private property, fence is down so we walked in. Cache found and log found
A successful day was spent outdoors with the familiar gang. The plan was to clear out Goulburn once again. We practically achieved our goal, by finding 40 caches in 10 hours, with about 7 DNF's. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for maintaining the caches that we found today.
After skipping Governors Hill, we moved North to Goulburn Woodlands Reserve. We did this track in reverse order (7-1) without any problems. Easy find here, cheers.

A massive day was planned to clean up the area around Goulburn and do all of the Taralga trek. Started with a parkrun in Goulburn and then took the clockwise loop to Crookwell, Laggan, Taralga and back to Goulburn. Weather wasn't really on my side, cold and partly wet, but no soaking rain so I pushed through. Great caches and a good series with lots of different containers and hiding spots. I had a great day, thanks to all the cache owners for putting out the caches.

Strolled past the yapping dogs and goat number one. Then made a quick find near goat number two. Had to fill out the log quite quickly as goat number two was very curious as to what I was up to. Unfortunately my phone is almost flat so this was the only one of this series I can get today. TFTC!
Goats on guard at the parking area. Given our geodog is terrified of chooks we figured we should give a wide birth to the goats, drove past and parked safely at GZ. Short search had cache in hand. Tftc

Heading home to Canberra from Day 2 of a 5 day orienteering carnival in the Southern Highlands. Today's event was at Canyonleigh. My mission on the way home was to clean out as much of Goulburn as possible. Easily found on my walk around the reserve. Very hot. Too many flies and a fox. TFTC.

Found with nissan 65 on a few days away caching. Day 3 of our trip. Collecting a few caches on our way home
I went for this one after DNFing the nearby Goulburn Racecourse. I arrived at GZ and immediately saw the hide. The container had some condensation inside but the log was dry. I replaced it, increasing the camo a little. There were a pair of goats tethered nearby. TFTC.
Quick check while close by the trail. In good nick, though was exposed. Replaced in its hide and better camo'd.
when we spotted a new mini trail on a road we like a lot , we had to do it , and today was the day, we found all caches bar 1 that we looked for (rain ended the run) in under a minute, thanx heaps to Gazza and other placers of the caches we found, we will be back as there is heaps more for us to do, many thanx and cheers
This one took a while to spot, as my GPS wanted me a little to the north of GZ.
#10 Goulburn Arvo Cache
The final cache for this small Sunday arvo expedition. Took quite a bit of bush bashing to get to the final find of the day and of the woodlands reserve series in this area. I have had fun with this series whilst observing some interesting shrubbery and sounds of some kookaburras in the distance. Back to Canberra to log and plan another Geocaching adventure. Cheers

A caching trip to-day, Bungendore, Tarago Goulburn and return to Canberra via Lake George. Loved the woodlands. TFTC.
I made a couple of friends at GZ.
There were 2 goats chained up right at GZ,the cache was just out of the goats reach, any closer and it would be goats dinner.
Had a great time finding the caches in this series and a fun experience at this one,
Thanks gazza959 for the series of caches

Goulburn Day 2.
We have set up camp at the VC rest stop. Caching with Liz and Bruce again today.
Today we were more in the town area. Walked the Woodlands while it was not too hot.
We had a nice tiki tour of the town on our caching tour.

We are heading to South Australia before heading to the event in Alice Springs. Today we teamed up with Di and Bill from the team DiMorgan and traversed many of the streets of this lovely town to find caches. This was one we were able to find. Thanks to gazza959 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Found it, the local house ties its goats next to the cache and they are not friendly
I was out early in the morning caching due to the smoke alarm in the hotel I stayed at malfunctioning and going off at 5 in the morning. Thought I'd grab the woodland cache series before breakfast.
I found a couple of goats chained up to the trees near gz. The billy goat was quite friendly and enjoyed an ear scratch before I continued on the cache hunt.
Thanks for the cache.

Find #31 of 3673 at 2:16:00 PM on my Goulburn Invasion day out with mtrax - not my biggest one day total, but it was close, and seeing that I only found 68 caches in total for the whole of 2016 it is pretty impressive given my recent form!
TFTC gazza959 - we had a great day out.

Wow finally made it back to civilisation and normal paths at this cache. I don't know how we got here but it got really bad between #6 and #7 that we decided to just jump the farmers fence and walk just inside his property near the train track, only because it was a little less overgrown and we couldn't find a way through on the other side.
Interesting caching experience, don't come in the summer that is all I have to say!
Good luck future cachers and thank you for placing this series for us to find In the end it was still good fun besides the itches and cuts

With the buildup of caches in Goulburn getting high again, I decided a day trip was on order. I managed to pick up an old DNF but had a few more during a fun day caching around this beautiful country town.

Our last in this reserve, an easy find. Thanks for the series, hopefully the multi is back online soon.

Last run before the big trip down south to the Surf Coast Mega event. There are a lot of new geocaches in Goulburn since the last time I cached up this way; and it wasn't that long ago. The gusty winds of the last few days had not abated and it was not warm.
I met TeamWebguy to do this trail. I was a bit worried about long grass here, but it was not warm & so not too many repltiles about. We gathered these caches in farily quickly.

Finding our way from 6 to 7 proved a little entertaining through the thick scrub but we got there in the end. At GZ we checked the object once, twice and three times then finally spotted the goods when we came back to it. TFTC!
Found #7 - Will find the remaining caches another day.
Had a few muggle kids ask if I was playing Pokemon when walking past on my phone... not quite.

A days caching with steeba and Hoojar had been a few weeks in the planning. The all-important question of where to go, loomed….. A quick study of the gc.com map showed an influx of new caches in the Goulburn area so today we set about finding the plethora of caches that dotted the region.
Under cloudy skies this cache was one of the 70 we found today. A bit tricky here
Thanks to all the CO’s for their respective hide.

I was out for a day of caching with The Rats, steeba and Juno. We had been planning and solving for a few weeks in preparation. Our main target area was to clear out Goulburn, which seems to have had quite an influx of caches over recent months, I swear it was not that long ago that I had none anywhere near here to find!
On a cool day we had an early start and managed to knock over around 70, mostly before lunch too! This was one of the many finds for the day. Thanks to all of the cache owners for placing their hides, I look forward to coming back to town soon to find our couple of DNFs.
What a fantastic series this is. Juno enjoyed the chance to stretch her legs.
Cheers

A last minute decision to head to up the highway to Goulburn to make a dint in the caches around the area. Only half a day for me, so met up with fitzy_1965 and specimenX along the way were soon nabbing the caches. A couple of DNF's for the day, however this one was soon found and our names, or initials, were in the log book.
Thanks again gazza959......still a few to go.

11711. A last minute decision and Sol de Lune, specimenX and I (in most logs as FSS or FS) were heading up to Goulburn for a big day of caching.
After parking the second car safe and sound we ventured up to this reserve to go for a nice walk and get the blood pumping. After the Multi we did the circuit and found all the caches without any hassles. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, returned the cache and we headed off to the next one.

I found this cache as a joint part of “Team” Throsbyonchurch and in which name the log book was signed. I now have my own account as I’m old enough to cache myself, so I am claiming a fair share of my earlier finds. As I had no caching name at the time there's no log in the book for me but I’m claiming the find under team ToC. Thank you for the hide.
Found it . -- 2:25 PM -- SL TNLN TFTH. Thanks for bringing us here. Cache in good condition.
After an early arrival in Goulburn it's 'Charge !! Go get 'em' in a ditch effort to clean out all the local caches. Haa, Haa, that did not happen as we have had the most unexpected, and fantastic day in Goulburn.
The last few days I have been juggling where we would go caching today. I even entertained the idea of staying home and starting the spring cleaning. It was a gorgeous day and I was ready to go bright and early, so caching won, and we are so glad we came here.
We discovered the War Memorial was open. Exciting !! All the times we have been here and finally, we get the chance to go inside. Woo hoo. Stunning 360 deg views from the top. And we also scored a visit to the nearby museum. Heard and saw a 1953 steam train from Canberra, echoing throughout Goulburn, it was loud everywhere we went, even up at the war memorial.
Finally, at days end we got to see it filled with water that overflow from the top, and billow out steam which encased us as it blew its horn upon heading off to the station. Memorable !
Anyway, we arrived at this cache and the GPS again has me looking like the 'rose between to thorns', the same location as last time. Again I began searching and scratching my head as to where it was located. This time hubby came and he noticed something I was obviously missing and we soon had CIH. Like Duh !!
Enjoyed your series even if I wasn't enthused on the long walk. I usually leave the hikes and psych myself up for them and then off I go.

DNF -- Looked and looked. Looked high looked low and looked with the ole Pea Beau but no luck. This size cache size in this position, bit hard to miss.

Came to Goulburn today to find a specific cache type for a souvenir. Managed to find 3 of those and also 29 others! Can complain about that. (Oh, and another 12 caches when I got home, so that was 44 for the day I'm stuffed!).
Really enjoyed my little circuit around this reserve! Most pleasant! Thanks again G959.

I guess the winter weathers back with vengeance, today it's cold and windy, glad for a quick find here and now we're heading for home where it's warm. TFTC
An impromptu day trip up the highway to Goulburn was hatched with Rapidlywild as the numbers had grown in the area. We waited for the kangaroo withching hour to pass before we headed off but the fog decided to hang around until we got into Goulburn before it cleared.
The finds came thick and fast, and we met up with a couple of CO's along the way which is always nice. We managed a joint *FTF* with RW here, nice surprise!
