I’m having this week off as others at work had the Easter break off so it was my turn and another trip up North to Mildura was planned.
I left Melbourne nice and early on Friday to get a few caches in on the way up to Culgoa.
My main aim of the weekend at Mildura was to finish the Turtle series and to start the Paddle Steamer series so all good on those 2.
So after a great 3 days in Mildura then an over night stop in Boort and then Euroa time to head to Marysville for the weekend to catch up with friends.
I was not taking the most direct route as I wanted to drive through some old towns that are now only dots on the map and I want to take the back roads as well.
7 hours to do what is a 312 kms direct trip then 6 hours to do 211km direct trip I really must be taking the round about way.
Yesterday was another 6hr trip which if you go by a direct route should be110kms
After a nice feed at the Duck Inn last night a day af exploring while waiting for my friends to arrive.
So after a visit to Lake Mountain then a walk around the Cambarville, Cumberland area and then Keppel’s lookout this was the last one for the day.
I remember when I was last here in pre caching days I did the walk up to the top lookout.
A few people around and I visited the sites and picked up what was required.
I revisited the falls the next day with friends and there was a lot more water flowing after the 40mm of rain the received over night.

Thanks Na’wal TFTEC.

There was a work trip up to Marysville and one of the activities was a 12km hike up to the falls. Some keen people were heading up a second time after a 6am run in the freezing cold! Some nice scenery and a plenty of detail on the cache notes to keep our eyes peeled on the way up. TFTC, answers sent to CO.
Beautiful falls and lots of lovely but tough walks nearby. Super busy when we first got there so revisited earlier in the morning the following day. Thanks for the cache Na’wal!
Beautiful, and on a working day there were not too many people either. Even the parking was free. I sent the answer 4 weeks ago, but never received any reply. Thanks for the cache anyways!
Such beautiful falls and a lovely walk. So happy to see how much the area has regrown since the Black Saturday fires. Thanks from C+J
Found while visiting the falls with a muggle friend, just made it in between heavy rainfall. Answer sent. Thanks For The earth Cache
What a beautiful place. Thanks for the geocache. I found it together with Emandel who sent the answers.
Found on my birthday! What a beautiful day to head towards the Mega!
This is an amazing spot and I've wanted to come here for so long. Today was finally the day!
Thanks Na'wal for the earthcache to find here!

Answers have been sent. I've visited these falls quite a few years ago so it was lovely to visit again and find they were much bigger than I had remembered. Thanks for EarthCache and the information it contained.
Rather than take the easy way up to the falls (by car) we decided to torture the kids and make them walk from the camping ground. It was a pleasant 9km return and MOST of us enjoyed it. The youngest needed a quick lesson in being tougher in the mind, because it certainly wasn’t his body that was slowing him down.
These are certainly spectacular falls. I’ll have to come back at night and see them floodlit, before we move on in a few days. A very popular spot today! Answers sent.

#94 TFTC! Spending the summer working at Taggerty as a cherry picker, met the family down to Marysville for the day.
It was a hot day, and we thought that a walk to a waterfall would be a cool option to take. After wrangling with the parking machine, we set off for the falls. This is the second falls of the homophonic name we have found Earthcaches. The falls are truly spectacular, and there were many people enjoying the serenity. We were fascinated by the lighting of the falls and the story of how this is managed as a closed system. Thank you, Na'wal, for yet another enjoyable Earthcache. An FP from us for bringing us to such a beautiful place.
Such a spectacular location! So much bigger than I expected. Had no trouble answering the questions which I will send off to the CO. TFTC ️
Can't really capture the power of these falls with a camera, it is a great place though.
Enjoyed the walk to the top of the falls - we had to drive to the Keppel lookout as we were too late in a day to walk the full loop.

Visiting Marysville for the day. Went to Bruno's Garden too. So lovely to see the regeneration after the fires, you wouldn't even know they happened! Thanks for this EC, answers sent.
Up this way for a couple of days of R&R, the falls are a 'must do' destination. After a bit of touring up the mountain, we mosied on to here at about 15:00ish for the views (and this Earthcache of course ).
While CrobDes proceeded straight to the falls themselves, I took the low road for the weir answers before meeting up again for the final parts.
The falls were so good in fact, that we came back after din-dins for the night show and even more photos.
A destination that deserves a fave point.
Thanks Na'wal.

We really enjoyed the falls. We will have to come back to see them lit at night.

Great location. On a weekend trip to Marysville, couldn’t leave without checking out the falls. Would love to come back and see it at night. My first earth cache. Thank you
Late log. Beautiful spot and a great place to visit, steep to get to the top but worth it
Accompanied with geofriend. I was there in long time ago
Beautiful water falls.

Wow so beautiful place here, enjoyed looking at the waterfalls. Thanks Na'wal for the Earthcache and bringing us here, Crank1 has sent the answers which was given OK by CO. A fav from me and I will recommended my children to go there with their partners.
At the end of a great day caching with OzHockeyChick, Pwala, Crank1, Geoturtle37 and Mr Pwala. It seems that we had done this some time ago as we had the answers recorded but have now made sure that we have submitted them. Thanks for the cache and bringing us up here.
We arrived here and it looked like it was going to pour rain, and we weren't wrong. We had taken some time to look at the falls and were just about to answer the questions when the heavens opened. It wasn't cold but boy were those drops massive. They drowned us quite quickly. Had to laugh though as when I opened the cache to find the questions, the answers were sitting there, complete. Must have answered them last time we were up here but we have sent them this time. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here. . . . . . . . . . . again.
In Marysville doing an induction into oeg so thought we'd check out the falls and get some caching in. Beautiful spot thanks for the cache
Visited many times, beautiful place to visit and very pleased it has recovered so well after fires in 2009

Staying nearby for a wedding in the Yarra Valley tonight. The rain held off for our walk around the falls this morning and we were able to take some great photos. Good questions, good chance and reason to explore, good earthcache - favourite point added. Answers sent. Thanks for the earthcache Na'wal.

Perfect weather to visit here with my family for the day at Marysville. Love the noises of rushing waters from the top to bottom of waterfall. I was here 5 years ago with very black and grey forestry due to bushfires and now looks much better to regrown more green forests and healthy. Fav for me. Sent answers to CO. Thanks Na’wal for placing an earthcache
My second EC and another one of yours! About to send the answers when I remember how I did it for the first one! Hadn’t been to the falls for years; great to see so much flow after recent rain. Quite a feat of engineering, too. TFTC
Worked out and submitted answers with tassie expat while exploring this great area. It's a terrific looking waterfall and an easy walk from the carpark. Thanks for the earth cache.
frmen1 and I have run away for the weekend. Shhh...don't tell both members of draggedalong lol
We only walked to the base of the falls as my knee is dicey at the moment. We really enjoyed the experience. Even managed to feel a bit of spray on our faces. We found the whole EC interesting and informative.
Heading back tonight to see it under lights.
We love geocaching for these experiences. TFTC

Find #4093. Found @ 14:07 with The Good Lady Wife and j-bean.
Off to visit the falls, and collect the information for this Earthcache. Once we arrived at the parking area, it started to rain more. We made the stroll to the various waypoints, collecting the information, and helping tourists to take their photos. Although at one location, a particularly self centered woman kept walking into everyone elses photos to take selfies with the falls... over and over and over again. The rude, self absorbed and entitled behaviour of some people makes the red mist descend! [Breathe!]
I would have preferred to see a bit more of the falls, and surrounding walks, but the rain was putting a damper on that plan (see what I did there?) for the rest of my band. We called it quits and went back to the car.
Answers sent to the ECO, logging to keep my finds in order while awaiting permission. Edit: Permission to log given.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.

We discovered this gem of a location today and set off to get the questions for the Earthcache. I cannot get used the the spelling of "Steavenson"... seems like a typo. We quickly found the answers and Miss A trotted off to the top of the falls, sent a text message to Mr A once up there, so that we could wave to each other. (We will never grow up). A lovely day was had here and we will return next year during the Marysville Jazz & Blues Festival 2019 to see the falls lit up at night. TFTC
We visited the falls on a cloudy day and still enjoyed the views from below and the top. TFTC Na'wal

This is our first earth cache and we could not of asked for a more beautiful location. This is the place Steve proposed many years ago and holds a special place in our hearts. We took our time, soaking up the atmosphere and gathered our answers along the way. I said to Steve that I thought he would of had something to say to me at the spot of his proposal, to which he replied “It’s been interesting “ How romantic and completely swept me off my feet:)
Thank you Na’wal for our introduction to earth caches which I’m sure will be the first of many. We absolutely loved it and a definite favourite from us.

Visited with a largish group of non-cachers. While everyone else was viewing the falls etc. I collected facts.
It was afternoon, not evening, so I didn't get to see the flood lighting. Quite a bit of water flowing here, though it obviously gets quite a bit wider.
We also climbed to the top of the falls which does have a lovely view.
Certainly a nice place to visit and haven't been here for many years (though I think I visited as a kid). Thanks for the cache

Found with Exportswede. Great spot for an earth cache - so much beautiful nature here and a stark reminder of the power of nature to create and destroy. TFTC!
Visited Steavenson Falls on 18/4.Thanks Na'wal for accepting our answers to your questions and leading us to such an interesting area. Hope to find more earth caches as interesting as this one. TFTC
Visited Steavensons Falls with around 1/2 of Melbourne it seemed. We enjoyed a picnic lunch then tramped up to the top of the Falls for a great view down the valley.
Apparently the resident black snake had just moved off the path before we came by
TFTC and for bringing us to this
Great place NaWal.

It had been quite a while since we had last visited Marysville, and thoroughly enjoyed walking around some of the trails before heading to Steavenson Falls for the last walk of the day. On our way to the bottom of the falls we saw a Red Bellied Black snake right next to the path. It seemed to be soaking up the mid-afternoon sun and was getting as much attention as the falls themselves! After finishing this EC we headed up to the top of the falls to enjoy the view down the river valley. Answers have been sent to the CO. TFTC!
While exploring the wine region north east of Melbourne we also visited this very nice location and a glimpse on the phone showed me this EC . So I did sightseeing and question answering simultaneously . Mail has been sent.... Thanks for placing this one here and therefore

We arrived in the car park just after 11 am and purchased a parking tick (Might have to add that attribute) and left after 1 pm.
The question about the rocks certainly started a debate between some members of the family.
Think we enjoyed the top of the falls the best and some absolutely amazing views from up there
Thanks for the interesting earth cache Na'wal

Found info while out exploring this area with Happy Feet, Happy pants and Moosetash. Thanks for bringing us to a great location.
Out with Chrisant, Happy pants and Moosetash, enjoying the day out in this area. The falls were busy today but could see why as they were a lovely way to relax. Grabbed the info need and great to learn more about the falls and the area.
Thanks Na'wal bringing us here.

We thought we’d check out Steavensons falls today and didn’t realize it was such a popular place! But that isn’t surprising once you’ve been there, as it was a stunning view, especially on a glorious day like today. Thanks for the informative and unambiguous earthcache and for showing us this beautiful spot.
I am visiting Melbourne with the Family for Xmas. Many plans have been made about which caches to find. Hopefully those plans can be put into action.
Had lunch at the shelter then took an enjoyable walk along the track to the falls. All questions answered and emailed. Thanks for bringing us here. Greetings from WA
Na'wal - I was out and about today and found your cache Spectacular Steavenson at 13:39:24 on 21 Dec 2017. This find brings my cache count to 2479.

Found this cache on way home from the Alexandra Mega Event earlier this week. It was my first visit to Marysville since the 2009 bushfires and I was amazed at the devastation still evident in the hills around the town. It wasn’t as evident at the falls which demonstrates the Australian bush’s ability to regenerate after fire. TFTC
Staying in Marysville after the event at Alexandra we found some caches in the area and this was one of them.
Beautiful spot to visit - good to see the area regenerating after the 2009 bushfires.
Thanks for bringing us here Na’wal, love waterfalls so this one gets a favourite point.

We came back to this area with micaparamedic mainly to try our luck at the 4x4 whereigo but there was no way we were going to leave without visiting this one.
Being mid week we had the area to ourselves and this just made the walk even better. We were surprised at how well the area has recovered after the fires compared to some areas we were driving today.
We enjoyed the walk and were happy to be in the cool bush out of the heat while we collected the information and admired the falls which had a lot of water flowing over it.
Many thanks Na’ wal for showing us some more about this fantastic planet we live on, a favourite point from us.

We arrived in Marysville around lunchtime after spending the weekend at the Alexandra Mega event. Neither of us had ever been to these falls before, so it was top of the hit list for today. We nearly didn't make it as we got distracted by other caches on the way, then lunch, then the Bushfire display at the Marysville info centre, then Gallipoli Park, then icecream (mmmmm icecream ), then by meeting a couple of horsemen with their packhorse, riding into town as part of their BNT adventures. (Turns out we had some close friends in common so we ended up going back to have dinner with them).
We spent a good amount of time at these falls too. We were really shocked to see the photos of how the area was decimated after the Black Saturday bushfires. Would have been unrecognisable except for the familiar track of the waterfall itself. They have done a brilliant job at rebuilding the facilities here. And nature is battling away at repairing the damage done in the forest too.

On our way home from Alexandra, we decided to stop in here to complete the earth cache on the recommendation of the lady in the general store at Thornton. What a great recommendation it turned out to be! The falls were busy, but not unbearably so. Some kids were playing in the water (despite the no swimming signs), but I guess it was a warm enough day to do so! LouLou0212, Casadella and myself walked around, gathering answers and admiring the site. Thanks for bringing us here! TFTC Na'wal
What a beautiful spot, thanks for teaching us about this amazing location with my Geo buddies Casadella & BeckNmonts TFTC Na'wal
Earthcache #11 in our quest to find at least ten caches in one day - well here we are and onto #12 in Fairfield to grab this unique opportunity - we have been here BC (before caching) walking from the Marysville Visitor centre to the falls. Highly recommend this walk, driving to the carpark doesn't do this area justice. Tftc!
This cache was an unexpected bonus on a visit to the falls for my geowife Muttley! and I. Great area and we are already planning a return visit for the floodlights. Thanks to Na'wal for placing this cache.

Found while on a bushwalk with some mates! First time out here and it was a lovely day, lots of people out embracing the natural beauty. Gathered some clues while gawking at the wonderful sights.

It was too nice to stay indoors on this sunny winters day so we packed some snacks & headed toward Marysville. We'd stopped here before about a year ago but finding an Earthcache just made it that much more interesting. TFTC!

Visited this morning, collected the answers for the earthcache and submitted to owner. Very pretty falls. Tftc.
In Healesville for the weekend on a family getaway and decided to visit Marysville in the afternoon. Nanna wanted to see good old Marysville she visited as a kid - despite me reminding her a raging inferno totally changed the look of the place.
We then decided to check out the falls. What an amazing natural attraction! Plenty of happy snaps and took time to take it all in, as well as getting the photo's for the EC.
Thanks Nawal for another great Earthcache.

Beautiful spot for a walk/hike on Mother's Day.

Really sorry for the late logging, cycling has taken over my life, and I'm waaaaay behind on logging found caches...
This week I was here with my husband and a friend cycling the 7 Peaks. Today we rode Marysville to the village of Lake Mountain and back again. We did a bit of sightseeing in Marysville afterwards, and also came to the falls.
I loved the walk along to the falls and finding about about the turbine and hydro electric system. I was hoping to see a platypus in the wild, but was not lucky today.
Thanks for the earth cache Na'wal!

A belated logging of this cache whilst in Marysville for church camp in February. We walked from town to the falls and back and I was able to complete this cache. Such a spectacular spot, we also returned at night by car to see the falls lit up. Thanks for the cache Na'wal!

Today's mission was to find some of the caches from the 2016 VIC caching awards nominations list. We drove over 400km, walked just under 13km, cleared a tree blocking one of the roads we needed to use and even found a friendly wombat. But the real highlight of the day was this earth cache, the falls are such an amazing site and na'Wal has done a great job highlighting the key features.
For this beautiful spot certainly a fav point from us.

Camping in the Cascade Ranges and stopped at this gem of a place. Climb to the top and have a picnic on the rocks! So beautiful, I'm so happy I stopped, and glad I randomly checked to see if a cache was here!
Up here for our annual church family camp, and with a beautiful weekend ahead of us we made the most of our first night for a trip up here with the various families and kids.
Always enjoy a trip up here, and glad to see the forest is slowly recovering. But my goodness it's taking a long time, so severe were those fires.
The night made it a bit trickier to solve some of the questions, but luckily they were all pretty straightforward.
Answers sent to owner. TFTC Na'wal. Definitely a spot worthy of an earthcache.

Top spot just love it here took heaps of photos and felt the spray on my face thanks for a great earth chache
What a beautiful part of the world .. The falls look spectacular and the work done after the fires is fantastic. Sadly some ferals with no respect had been there tagging/graffiting .. ..., thankfully the falls were beautiful
So we were all sitting around the Viking fire this morning and Birthday Gurl asked if we wanted to join in and do Stevensons Earth cache , ah why not it's an awesome place and would be nice to see it at full roar , very interesting info along the trail good for Jnr Bear to learn a few things , but was not happy we weren't going for the big hike , Birthday Gurl (Sharkiefan) submitted all the info for the group THANKS FOR THE ADVENTURE
Thanks for bringing me back to this beautiful location. It was great to return and remember how I used to visit the falls as a child at night time and feed the possums on the side of the path on the way.
After a little get together last night, in a nearby area, the southerly faction of our group decended on Steavenson Falls. Today is International Earthcache Day and I had stored this wee cache as a possibility on my return journey to the Big Smoke. Great minds think alike and as most of these great minds were hung over or at least somewhat alcohol impaired we all were pretty keen. We were in convoy with Kate the Rollerskate (my car) leading the way.
Anyway got to the carpark and all forked out the $3 day fee (and left the tickets in the machine for the next crowd). You could hear the water rushing and gushing from there. It was perfect to give us all a bit of leg exercise after all the arm raising the night before. The kids were champing at the bit and raced off up the path disregarding a few sprinkles of tourists. We dutifully stopped at each waypoint, snapped photos of the answers and eachother and got to the top. A refreshing mist rehydrated a few of us and delighted the kiddos. We had a powwow over the answers and took a few more photos.
What a lovely place and yet another one of those places I wouldn't have seen without geocaching. In fact I wouldn't be in the area if not for geocaching and the friends I have met. It was the perfect end for the group to disperse and head home whichever way they had planned. The group today included day1976, "°", ahomburg, OZHockeyChick and Team Smokey Bear. Day and I ended up having to turn around on Black Spur Rd due to fallen trees blocking the road and had lunch in Alexandra before going back home via Yea. Now home having leftover cake for dinner. ## Wahoo ##
Getting there after a fun Saturday night around the Viking Fire was easy. Gathering all the answers in somehow moist conditions was entertaining. However after a quick stop at Marysville for lunch the interesting part started:
The way home was a bit of an adventure with fallen trees blocking the way in various places including the Black Spur. Kirsten chose to head south via Warburton, Day and Sarah north via Yea and I picked the big gamble and tried the Black Range. After a bit of zig-zagging and clearing smaller trees, mum and I popped out in Toolangi. Not long after hitting the bitumen again we were boxed in by fallen trees but fortunately plenty of people with chainsaw are around in this neck of the woods. After that was cleared we hit another one at Kinglake but there a guy just unloaded a Bobcat from his truck. Yep - it's quite handy to have one of those.
Thanks and Cheers
Philipp

During various discussions over the previous evening and this morning, it was decided that the SOUTHBOUND CREW would stop by to explore these magnificent falls.
WOW! The amount of rain we've had lately made for an extremely impressive discovery! Thanks for the spectacular earthcache, Na'wal.

Found after a weekend of birthday celebrations at Alexandra.
Ideas that come up around a bonfire following a few bevvies should always be acted upon the following morning
And so we headed off to this cache.
Lovely spot, great to see the large amount of water coming over the falls.
And then the adventure began with the trip home, but that is another story...
TFTC Na'wal.
Found with dad (day1976), sharkiefan, Team Smokey Bear, OzHockeyChick and the funny circle guy.
Loved the area, the noise coming off the waterfall was a bit scary actually.
