Another rural school gone! Mr SKI spent much of his career teaching in these small schools. Always sad to see them go and the effect it has on rural communities. We headed out in the car today to cache in the areas surrounding Swan Hill. It was an interesting journey as we traveled through varied farming country, some fruit, crops and scrubby areas. The caching was mixed with straightforward finds and a number of DNFs as we battled the GPSr on some, and others spot on. Many D/T ratings were spot on, but others definitely misleading.A successful if at times frustrating day nonetheless.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Hercs&pinky.**SKI Pair****
A quick and easy find. Its always nice to know that these little schools are not forgotten after they are closed down.TFTC
Hi there Hercs&pinky.
We found your cache **"SS 3945"** today.
The plan today was to find a couple of caches that we had previously DNF'd, and then to follow a random route chosen by the (mostly) next closest cache as determined by our GPS. We had a profitable day and found 17 and DNF'd 0
Thanks for placing this cache here. Over the years, Geocaching has taken us on many adventures and to lots of wonderful destinations all over Australia. Without 'caching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wanderings. 'Caching has also introduced us to a diverse group of like-minded people, many of whom we now call friends.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing.
Thank you Hercs&pinky for adding to our adventure.
Regards
Ian & Penny

Found during our COVID 2020 Murray River trip.
While Melbourne was in a state of turmoil rural Victoria was still okay, and with 4 weeks leave, and all the borders closed we decided the only warmish place in Vic was going to be as north as we could get. After a decade or so travelling north and west we started on the trips we'd left til later - the Murray River. Starting from East Gippsland we got to Wemen out of Robinvale before they announced Victoria was going back into Stage 3. Now we're working our way back home and avoiding Melbourne. Found this along the way. TFTC. DJ

The geocaching holiday continues with OzHockeyChick, Papi4506 & GeoTurtle37. We finally made it to Swan Hill after an epic drive (100kms in 6hrs). Today is the first day exploring the hill.
A much quicker find at this school
Thanks Hercs&pinky for placing the hide!

In contrast to yesterday, which was quite warm, this morning we battled a cold wind and some heavy rain squalls; weather improved after lunch. We found a variety of hides and read some interesting cache notes such as these.
**FEDBACK TO CO** The log is mouldy, but still writable at this stage.
Thanks 'Hercs&pinky' for adding this cache to the game board.

Suscoe and Phetlern headed out this afternoon after the rain had passed to find a few caches to the north west of Swan Hill.
It was a cloudy and cool afternoon.
Another fun outing with our good friends.
Nice to see some country side that we haven't travelled through before.
Thanks to Hercs&pinky for this hide, so many schools around the state to find out about, thanks for this from us as ex teachers.

Right on the door step of a friends place that we are catching up with to say hello. But had to wait a few minutes for them to arrive back so why not do a cache. Have to wait to get another close by as footy is on at the moment. TFTC
Found since we were in the area for a birthday party - think we have created another addict too

Out and about with mogni and brisal5 when we found this cache. Always like hearing about the history of an area. TFTC.
In Swan Hill for an event with Mrs. Aussie M&M and mogni. To save space, we simply put our group stamp of GOTHS (Geocachers Of The HillS) in the logs.
After a bit of a patchy morning in the town with a few DNFs we decided we might head out of town. [:0)] A change of perspective and a bit of fresh air to change our luck.
It was such a pleasure to find this one after yet another DNF at the last cache.
Thanks for the cache

*You little eclipse mint tin beauty. A FTF. Went for a drive after work and before tea out Woorinen way and came across this nice quick easy find of a cache. Though it would have been found by now as it had been published for a day or two. TFTC. SL. Thanks for bringing us to this place H & P. and putting a cache near the old school site. The pupils would have had a great view of the lake when it was here. Cheers. [:o]*
