I was out today for a paddle to pickup more kayaking caches. I found 10 on water and one tree climb at the boat ramp. I was on a low high tide which was fun. But I did find all the caches. Cantcacheus2014 thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for enjoyment of the caching community.

After a lovely paddle on the Logan River, we headed over to GZ where we spent some time trying to spot the cache. After a couple of circuits, I managed to find its perch and Shazzar quickly made her way up to retrieve it. Thanks Cantcacheus2014

After starting the day with a paddle on the Logan River, we continued to search for couple of caches - before heading to the Flash Mob event. After that event we did some Multis, then couple of trads on the way to our accommodation. This was one of our finds - after we got the correct TOTT out of our friend's car. We all went up and searched for a while until .... Yes we heard "found it". We signed the log.Tftc Cantcacheus2014

Came down for a day of paddling on the Logan River and before we set off I climbed the tree and signed this cache. It was a bit slippery from the recent rain but managed to make it up and down unharmed. Thanks Cantcacheus2014Find #6409

After todays group kayak down the river, a few of us noticed this cache close to the boat ramp so Shazzar66 did the tree climb for us. Logbook signed and replaced as found. Thanks Shazzar66 and thanks cantcacheus2014 for placing the cache.

After a great morning paddle with a group for GC Logan we saw this cache nearby and decided to turn it into a smiley. It was hard to spot it from below but one of us , not me had great vision and was able to navigate Shazza66 to get the cache in hand. What a great day to be a geocacher. Thanks for all the fun

After consulting with some previous finders I was able to determine where this cache should have been. It has now been returned to the tree.

24-Jun-24
Came by this cache after spending some time on the water, checking out locations for caches for GCLOGAN.Started looking around but reading previous log, seems like the cache is not here....Hopefully the finder will return the cache to its hide.Maybe next time, or I should have just placed a cache up there....

I was looking for a tree climb for today and after my first attempt this morning was thwarted by muggles, I looked around for another one. I had already driven all the way to Hyperdome for a cache I needed so it was not too much further to come on to this one. When I arrived I looked around the park and checked out the river which was very high after lots of rain over the weekend. Then I honed in on the tree and began circling. After a few times around with no sign of the cache, I turned to the logs and started looking for clues. Without even going up, I could see where it would be possible to climb to and I was fairly sure I knew where it should have been but still no sign of it. Then I looked down and saw it lying on the ground in front of me in two pieces. It looks like the plastic may have been chewed but I'm not sure if that happened before or after it fell out of the tree. Knowing that the CO is unlikely to replace it, I decided to take the cache with me and I'll see if I can get a replacement. I'll check with some previous finders to see where exactly it should be placed back.

29-Oct-22
After a great day of island hoping and collecting labs and caches, we finally made it back to the mainland. On the way home and yeah there is always time for one more cache. Just to keep the day rolling along we stopped here for a find.

Triple turmoil had been here before but had not secured the find. Apparently, it required the skills of a climber; guess I am it for the day. After been shown where it was I was off and up, no problem, but the log was a little damp so it did make for some fun to sign. With our names in and the cache returned as found, we were off to the next in the area.

Thanks for the fun we had here today.

Chamad and I both had a spare day today and were looking at options for a ride as Mr TT9 usually enjoys a ride more than Miss TT11 (who was off on scout camp). Chamad mentioned taking the bikes on the ferries and doing the 4 islands to complete the new AL. I have often thought of taking the kids to Coochiemudlo to do caching with the bikes, so this seemed like the perfect practice.

The weather was hot but perfect. Some of the hills on the islands were a bit much for Mr9, but he pushed through and gave it his all. There was a lot of whinging and giving up at times, but at the end he actually said he had a really good day. So did I.

On the way home Chamad kept pushing for one more cache and that there were 3 just down that road. My ears perked up at that. Yes! I have been here twice before. First time to get the cache - only to realise it was out of my reach. Then a second time to collect some scouts from their kayaking adventure. I could see it. But couldnt find anyone brave enough to do it.

Today was my day because I had Chamad with me! It took a bit to explain to him where it was. Pointing, describing...finally he had it in his sights and clambered up the tree. Yay! Cache done!

Wow, took us quite awhile to spot this one and we nearly walked away but so glad we persisted.

09-Oct-21
I walked a couple of laps around the tree and read a few logs before I spotted it. I must be getting old because I’m not as fearless as I used to be. I got the ladder out and climbed it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t long enough so I still had to climb the last 2m but I got there and back ok. Thanks for the cache

We have quite the crew here today... PirateLinda, Giraffe18, 2manytrailers, Catboy67, abeck58 and Blkthunder... sent the younger members of the crew up the tree whilst we offered words of encouragement...

As noted by the previous finder there was no log... so we added one and then filled most of it up...

Who knew this was the secret prawn shop for Logan... tftc...

Hi found this but the kid was on but there is no log in it. I was a little confused maybe it’s fallen out when someone putting it back I don’t know what’s happened there but obviously for this reason we could not sign it
You will need to put a new log in it thanks though had fin laughing at my husband climbing the tree lol

07-Sep-20
Happy that I went all the way through with this find.

I got to where I could put my hands on the cache but then I couldn’t twist the logbook out. I thought about trying to take a picture for proof but realised that move would be just as difficult. So I figured out how to open it and signed the log as BOB as the wind swayed the branches around me. Good fun!

We had finished tangled and then headed down to this cache.

We got our amazing tree climber up to have a look and couldn’t find it. We then sent up the true megawatty to see what he could find. After spending ages up in the tree he had finally found it. While we watched from the ground, we then had to throw the pen up.

A great yet hard place for this cache!

Found and introduced a family group of friends. All signed as one person hung out in the tree like a monkey. X

Holy!! Trying to avoid the muggles I walked around the tree a few times before spotting it from the ground, then promptly lost it as I climbed. Then got stuck as a muggle family came to sit at the tables.. all in all I got the little bugger!

Had to wait for a muggle family to leave before I could begin my search.
Used the time to change into shoes for climbing.
Once up in the tree, I spotted it straight away. It is small but still here to be found

Thank you for hiding this one

Well out for a day of caching in the Bay Area and decided we should stop off and grab a few in a row, let’s start our adventure with a tree climb. Up up up I went with a watchful pair of eyes guarding the cache, so beautiful on this stunning Saturday morning with krcamber.

Perfect cache to start our day! Out with reezielou and this was the first one on the list. As it was still early, there was two lovely owls guarding the cache. It was great to see them there! Reezielou made the climb and soon had our names in the log. TFTC!

26/6/18 came to this one a few weeks ago with emija29 but neither of us were dressed for a climb. So today, dressed more appropriately we both arrived ready to go up. I took the lead and once I started emija29 spotted the cache from down below. A step here and there and a reach up and that cache was in my hot little hands. Log signed and cache returned and down I went. A great climb and glad to have this smiley. TFTC

After visiting the Beenleigh Markets we stopped of for another go at this elusive cache. I have looked at this cache on several occasions but couldn't see it. We wandered around and around the tree until Muggle son spied it and was able to retrieve it but his had to get me to meet him half way to sign it as the log was far too small for his fine motor skills. All done and cache replaced where found. TFTC

24-Mar-18
No fish, or squirrels for that matter, up this tree as it’s simply too challenging for us...If any experienced climbers doing this next want some squirrel support / ground crew then please let us know as we’d be happy to tag along!

11-Mar-18
Arrived before noting the name and terrain rating, plus the recent rains have left GZ too slippery to attempt it today. We had a brief look around anyway as we had not previously known of this delightful park before. Met a fisherman on the jetty hoping to catch some bream or catfish . Tried scanning for the cache from ground level, but couldn’t see it. Were excited to read about the resident owls - how adorable!

20-Dec-17
Took a climb and soon found the little beast. Thanks for the hunt **Cantcacheus2014**, this find makes Smile #4550. Discover our TB

Second stop while visiting this park and I was a little worried about the size of the tree here, and the sheer volume of potential hiding spots. I started with the thought of seeing what I could see from below but that was utterly fruitless as a good few minutes got me nowhere.

So it was time to get up in the tree, and a little more up and then up. I started looking around hoping I was heading in the right direction but remembering some other tree climbs and wondering if this was a good idea or not. Well just as it happens I spotted something and on closer inspection, it was just what I was looking for. I got my name on the log and soon all back in place before heading back to solid ground below.

I had bought my own monkey to do this one for us, I do not believe that everyone of the group needs to go up as it would be to rough on the trees. Nice hide in a nice little park, they have certainly done it up since I was here last. TFTC

Caching day in the Redlands area and we enjoyed finding a variety of caches and visiting various parks, cemeteries and more parks! Thanks to all the COs who showed us many aspects of this coastal suburb.

Out adventuring finding some previously unfound geocaches today with a few of us. It's always great to geocache with friends and turn the outing into not only some smilies but smiles on the faces of your friends as well. Smiles of relief were given here when the cache was safely reached and signed and the way back down was made safely too. Thanks for the cache in this neck of the woods Cantcacheus2014. The place was pretty well deserted today.

30-Jan-17
Visiting the area with geo friends today and on reaching GZ we knew what was expected. With several eyes on the search the cache was soon spotted and Rusty 85 won the toss to venture up (a big thank you) and yes, there were no fish up there! Thanks Cantcacheus2014 and TFTC Smile

22-Jan-17
Damn, I was looking forward to this one but I got muggled out. Four fisherman were just getting out of their cars as I approached then after The Key Hole cache two of them were still hanging around their cars. Looks like another trip to this park.
Thanx anyway CCU

We continued the mini series and were on the way back up. We parked nearby GZ and walked over. This one we knew was going to be a challenge so when no one was looking we climbed and try and started searching looking up and down in all directions. We spotted the cache on the climb up and was happy with our quick find Smile . Thanks for the cache cantcacheus2014 Big Grin . TFTC!!! SmileSmile.

Out with Vegan Cachers to find some caches in the area.
Well here is your laugh for the day.
I was so interested in the tawny frogmouths nest, I climbed out of the geomobile looking up at the tree and forgot about the bollard in front of me and face planted right in front of the baby tawny frogmouth.
If it have been a kookaburra, you would have heard its laugh all over the park.
Mr and Mrs Vegan Cacher dusted me off and helped me stand up and that is when we saw the baby tawny frogmouth looking at us. How cute!
We spotted the cache and soon Mrs Vegan Cacher was up to it. Better only one as less damage to the tree.
Log signed and returned to where we found it.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Cantcacheus2014 Cool All good with this cache

**Smilie #4603**

Out chasing a few, as yet, unfound smiles with Team Benders.
We (Vegan Cachers) had originally visited here back in August 2016, shortly after the cache was published but rather than disturb a nesting Tawny Frogmouth we declined to search & notified the CO who kindly disabled the cache for 3 months out of respect for the TF.
Thanks Anthony! Smile
Well, we're back & this time, although the remains of the nest were evident, there were no nesting birds.
We did find, on a nearby branch, a small Tawny which was most likely the result of the previous nesting.
Cute little fella! Smile
This time we quickly spotted the cache & as I was having problems with a dodgy hip, & it was out of TBs safe zone, it was Geo-Mamma who pulled the short straw & made the climb.
Great job too! Smile
Made our marks & replaced as found then moved along & left little Tawny in peace.

Thank you again climbing Jazmin, couldn't have got this without you. Tftc Cantcacheus :^)

I should hope there are no fish up here...

Decided to ascend before having a look around. It turns out my helpers on the ground had spied it before I did. OK, well I guess I have to keep going, going, am I there yet? No, keep going, ah! Finally! Glad my pen worked well on the available terrain, and I didn't have to use my knee as a signing board.

Now, how do I get down? How did I get up?

Wow that's tall

Adventurous retrieval by one of our crew today but the cache was in hand with no broken bones thankfully. I participated by signing the log and executing an excellent return delivery of the logbook to enable the brave team member to return it to its home. TFTC Cantcacheus2014

Was about to look all around GZ, when I spotted 2x Twany Frogmouth Owls sitting in the tree... Decided to have a look another time

11-Dec-16
Sunday afternoon geocaching in the next-door Beenleigh area of Logan with Selva Girls and Geomum. There was a Muggle group at the nearby table when we arrived, so left to do the key hole one further on. Upon returning, the area was completely clear of any Muggles, so, as the Attribute says - climb a tree. I was aware of the Owl mentioned previously as we could spot him cleverly hiding away, from the ground. Once I started to climb, I could spot the cache easily. Keeping an eye of our feathered friend, I was able to reach the cache slowly and sign the log sheet. Took a nice photo of Mr Owl.

Log signed & replaced again. Found at 4.55pm on 11th December 2016. TFTC

11-Dec-16
After finding a nearby cache, we were pleased to see that the muggles had left, so we weere free to search for this one. We wandered around and around trying to spot the cache from the ground. We did spot the tawny frogmouth sitting, well camoflagued, in the tree. It kept a wary eye on Mr RoddyC as he began his ascent. He soon spotted the cache. He crept closer to the tawny frogmouth as he neared the cacche. Luckily, the bird was happy enough to watch him as he added our names to the log. TFTC

We decided to go Geo-boating, cruising up the river, we locked in GZ in the gps and pulled up to the jetty, snuck round a locked gate and found GZ. 10 minutes of climbing and no cache, climbed down and looked up and bingo there it was.
Another climb and the log was signed.

Will disable for a little while to give nature a chance to do its deed in peace.
Please respect this.

20-Aug-16
We arrived, parked nearby & wandered over to GZ.
Had a quick scout around, at ground level, to see if anything was visible enough to guide our ascent & noticed a **nesting Tawny Frogmouth**.
He/she seemed to be getting agitated by our presence even though we were on the ground & really nowhere near the nest site.
These birds are normally quite stoic & undisturbed by human presence but this one was wasn't settled at all, with us nearby.
**Rather than distress the bird further we declined to search or climb** & instead contacted the CO to advise him of the possible negative impact upon the situation.
**We have no plans to return until AFTER the breeding season & request that other searchers also respect the situation.**
Thanks, Cantcacheus, for placing the cache.
We will return! Smile

No chance to look but saw a lovely mum Frogmouth guarding her nest.

I got it I got it!!!!!! With a little bit of help from GT54 I got right back up there and grabbed the little sneak. I feel so amazing finally getting it! Thanks CCU14 for this awesome challenge!

No fish, but there was a bird. That's my excuse and I am sticking to it. Wink Seriously though, I had a bit of a look. I may not have been in the right spot, but I did what I was prepared to do on my own with nobody knowing where I was. I will be back when I have more time and a catcher. [:o)]

No find for us here today. Geomama climbed up high but not sure if she got high enough. It is getting close to school pick up time so we had to move on. We will be back
