Yet another Little Squirell hide we stumbled upon this morning, yet another super cool cache. Another must do while in Echuca. Took some time before getting our way in and it was only because the CO caught me pulling the area apart (definitely not required to sign this one!!) that we were given a hint and Happy Feet almost buggered that one too!! You can lead a horse to water l suppose... Eventually got our names on the logbook and had a good chat with the CO. Many thanks Little Squirell for the fun hide, definitely takes some talent to hide a regular sized cache in plain sight. Fave point added!
Well, after much pressing prodding wiggling and peering trying to work out where the cache could be hidden I gave up and went back to the car. Looking back I noted something else and with an "I wonder" I went back to have a look. Couldn't for the life of me work out how to open that either despite hinges being evident to my fingertips. This is where you need a team to work it out! TFT hunt. On to the next one.
We found this cache during our road trip from Tasmania to Queensland. It was great to meet the CO. TFTC
Found 10:04 amFound with ahomburg while whizzing around the great state of Victoria this weekend as part of the annual cache crawl event series. Fun times and many thanks to all COs for this great hides.Wow Wow!!! What an impressive engineering job done here. Favourite for sure.TFTC Little Squirell
Found during the Great Victoria Cache Crawl event (day 3). Little Squirell, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area. ?? Although its out of order, I had the pleasure of meeting the COa lovely man to chat with. I truly feel for him as he put in an enormous effort for us to enjoy this unique cache. It definitely deserves a favorite. ??
Incredible. Thank-you so much for placing this and the tab bit of help from the CO.Brilliant.
Decoys and deviations definitely kept us guessing and feeling. Then we got a little help and open she came. TFTC Litttle Squirrel - love your work. Favourite from us.
Found during the Great Victoria Cache CrawlLittle Squirell came out to meet me here.Awesome creative cache. Added FP.TFTC
We headed to this cache after attending the 2024 Cache Crawl breakfast in Echuca, but unfortunately the battery was all out of power. Well have to come back to try it out when were next in Echuca.TFTC
A weekend away on The Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024. Last year we completed half. This year, we are aiming for the full crawl. We had the pleasure of meeting Little Squirell when we arrived and joined a group to find things weren't going to plan. Some testing and this neat cache was not playing the game today. Much appreciation to CO's efforts to try and get this going. We look forward to coming back to see it in its full glory. --------------------------------------------------------The nominees for the [**2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/2023-victorian-cache-of-the-year-awards/) have been announced. Find as many of these amazing caches as you can before voting opens later in the year. The full list of nominations is available on the [Geocaching Victoria website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/2023-victorian-cache-of-the-year-awards/).
The cache's reputation for being cleverly designed and challenging drew us in with excitement. After a bit of searching, we were thrilled to find the cache and locate the 'check the hint' that was supposed to open it. However, despite our best efforts and multiple attempts, the cache stubbornly refused to open. We pushed, prodded, and tried different angles, but it remained securely locked. We left a little disappointed but still in awe of the creativity and effort that went into creating this cache. It's clear why it has so many favourite points! This is not a DNF.
TFTC. Spent a time trying to figure this cache out. Left for lunch. Tried again and, with some help, had cache in hand. Received a round of applause from a passing local. Great to have a chat with a more experienced cacher. A very innovative cache.
Attempted this cache after having some good luck around the corner. After much pressing and prodding, went into town for lunch before returning with some helpful hints from a friend. Shouted out in excitement when the cache was located and was given an applause by passing CO who was making sure we werent in trouble. TFTC, definitely worth the day trip out with 4xseekers
What a magnificent cache! We pushed buttons all over the place and then pushed them again before finally settling on what must hold the cache. But how to access the log? We examined and fiddled until finally Mrs SKI found the answer and the prize was ours.A definite favourite from us. A shame we can't give two.One of the best thought out and executed caches we have come across. Roymerc would be proud! Our last day in Echuca before moving on, but what a good one it was. Some of the best caching we have done in a long time. Some really innovative, intriguing and creative hides that took us some time, but well worth it. Thank you so much to the creators/hiders.A challenging but well spent day.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Little Squirell.**SKI Pair****
5th attempt I believe, this time for the win. Thanks for Mr squirels little hint given to geo kid at the tatura geo meet.
Out with my favs Bogonghazy and Geo dog on a gorgeous Sunday. Clever cache. Thanks Little Squirell for placing the geographical
During our mini-break in Echuca, we decided to explore some geocaches in the area, adding a thrilling dimension to our trip. we had an idea of what to expect, but this one presented a unique challenge . Overall, it was a great cache find, and we appreciated the adventure it offered. Thank you for the experience! But we could not get the log so we will be back again soon to crack this one
Found it, but couldnt open the cache, how marvelous is it ! Ill definitely give another try later
Pulled up here and thought, "we've been here before".Remembered exactly what to do here so a quick find.Should have checked in the log book to see if we signed it last time, we certainly didn't log it.A great cache and a favourite point for a challenging hide [if you hadn't spent ages here last time accessing it]!Thanks Little Squirrel.
What a doozy! And how well executed! It wasnt hard to eliminate some buttons but that didnt mean it took some patience. I just knew it had to be X. I resorted to trying to find our tricky CO but the neighbour proved to be friendly in their absence and confirmed my thinking with just enough of a hint to be not too far off the button. Bingo bango and what joy - the spring did sprung and suddenly there she was. So first time away for awhile - back in Echuca and this time the Riverboat Festival with a few star attractions is the main lure. BUT as my dear mum would say, always make time for some casheering so here I am and hip hip hooray. Headed over here on trusty treadles for a last few before music begins so TFTC the fun and the effort that translates to a smile on the dial.
I almost turned away from trying to find this cache as there were a heap of muggles nearby riding motor bikes enjoying the sun. I'm glad I didn't turn away. I initially was over invested and obsessed with some relics out the front...after all the hint did say push the button so yep that was what I was doing...one of the muggles thankfully alerted the CO who came out to watch me struggle...thankfully some hints,..well okay maybe it was lots of hints were given ....I would never have got there otherwise..it was a cache execution I had never seen before..absolutely brilliant...travelbugs and pathtags swapped...big Fav point...thanks for the amazement and the amusement.
We bloody did it. I reckon we poked and prodded and pulled and pushed and twisted and swore for a good hour. We went off and found another cache but did NOT want to leave without this one. Eventually we got onto a PAF and they pointed us in the right direction. Thanks Ilooked there for the help and thanks to the CO. If i could give more than one FP I reckon I would.TFTC
Found it beautiful place we met the owner lovely people, easy to find tricky to open
After staying with geocaching friends in Echuca this and MARY ANN were recommended to do on our way out of town. I can certainly see why they were both recommended. This one had us both totally confused. We went to do MARY ANN while waiting for a PAF to, hopefully ring back. When we returned the CO came out to greet us and enjoy the spectacle of The_Evil_Muggle and me blundering around trying to find the trigger to open the cache! What a fabulous cache, definitely one of the best gadget caches Ive ever done. Its great to be able to put a cache in your own place, so you can add extra features and watch the maintenance on it. Definitely another favourite point coming your way Little Squirrel!
This was so frustrating and so much fun at the same time. The red herrings had us fooled hook, line and sinker. It took a small hint from a friendly resident Muggle to point us in the right direction and even then the penny didnt drop for a while. It was lovely to meet you Mr Little Squirell and for sharing some of your geocoins with us. We absolutely loved Village Gate its a gem. We picked up the TB to take back to Melbourne with us. Favourite point for your efforts.
I spent 30mins here trying a lot of stuff. Eventually found what I believe must be what the clue referred to but the cache would not reveal itself...
Our fourth tryembarrassinglythis phone will forever be the bane of my existence After realizing the reception here was awful, we PAF and realised our errors. TFTC! Amazing. Favorite added.
The house is being painted, we have an excitable puppy, so we decided to go away for 5 days up to Wakiti near Echuca using our Travel Auctions win. Very good value with lovely owners. Virtually no internet though so catching up with logging now.
This morning we were heading off for a day of caching around Echuca and this cache was next, we hadn't realised how many FP's it had, JMelb saw it wason Mitchell St and wanted to find it because our son's name is Mitchell lol As we were approaching we got the page up and thought wow this is going to be good!! So we parked and all got out and started looking around. We were torn between 2 different spots but the GPS was more pointing towards one which ultimately proved to be correct. Now it was just a matter of access. Well we tried this and we tried that and we even tried that but no luck. We thought we were on to something at one stage but no lol ... as we were trying this theory, the friendly muggle approached and we started chatting. He could see what we were trying and confirmed that it wasnt the right approach. We chatted a bit and then he offered a clue which we took and voila the cache was open. Well we would have never thought of that, so many thanks to the friendly muggle!! What a fabulous cache and well deserving of its Favourite Points and here's another one!

Fantastic. Welll done. Sorry the phone needs screwing back onto tree. Gave a favourite
Looked pushed and prodded. Noted geo compassion pointed else where but thought no! Along came our new geo helpers- SebBowen123. After doing the cold, warmer, hot clues we pulled a "thing" instead of pushing. So push we did and it was revealed where we first thought - no it wouldn't be there. So very clever. Loved it. Fav point.
After a chat with the resident, we knew we were looking in the right area. After 10 minutes we finally opened the cache. Thankyou for an awesome cache!
This one took up a fair chunk of our afternoon located fairly easy but wowee could not find how to open
Tried again to find this cache, but still no luck. We only gave up after the kids got cold. We will try again next time we are in the area!
This was such a fun cache to try and solve.
Very creative.
So glad we dropped in and found these.

The property owner was lovely and had a good laugh watching us try nut this one out
Eventually log found

Well done. Too good for us.
Gave what we thought was every possibility a go but no joy.
Might scratch our heads tonight and have another go another time if we think of something.

On the way home from Mothers Day lunch today with 3/4 of my children.
Politely asked the driver to pull over for BENedict_2011 and I to do our thing.
We roamed around and poked and prodded and hunted..
We attracted a small audience during our quest, which added to the pressure somewhat.
The back-seat caches offered a few tips and some unhelpful advice..
Cache eventually located.
Marvellous! Loved it.

Heading to SA following the Rutherglen mega and mainly exploring places by way of ALs plus a few caches along the way. After time around the Mount Gambier area I will gradually make my way back home to the north coast of NSW. Thanks to all the COs for placing caches.
Well worth a FP from me!!!

Unfortunately this one was just too tricky for us. We poked and prodded but had no luck.
This one took us a while with lots of help from the CO. Thanks for having a chat with us and meeting our friend from Canada who was the one who worked this one out. TFTC

Unfortunately the reception for the phone and TV had our signals mixed so we missed this one. We thought we found a compartment for the cache but no logbook (so maybe we just missed it). Will be back!
Absolutely love this one lot of thought has gone into something that is so simple manage to get back here again and sign the logbook ️
What a fantastic cache. Great puzzle. Had us scratching our heads, but a little point in the right direction from the friendly co and we had it. Definitely one of my favourites. Out exploring with tooth66 and chiko24 TFTC

Just a tad over 5 years since our last visit here and this time we were determined to avenge our previous DNF. Admittedly we had received a small hint from a friend not long after our last visit but with a bit of lateral thinking and a few years more caching experience under our belts it didn't take long to work out how to finally get this magic box open! Thank you for a great challenging cache Little Squirrel, loved all the workmanship that went into this one, a FP from us!

DNF Today. We are making our way home today after a couple of nights in Echuca. Will be pleased to escape the gale force wind - I am not used to it. We started with the replacement TTT caches and did only a few others on the way out of town and a couple near Yarrawonga.
This is the second time we have stopped here with the same result - FAILURE. We did feel that this time we were actually on the right track but were unable to achieve a good result. Maybe our next visit in another few years.

A rare Astro Fav added for this cache
We were rushing back into town for a coffee with Judi and Greg - I drove past this and the plethora of GPS screamed at me. I screeched to a stop and reversed.
What the....
So we tried watching TV and tried to make a few calls.
Hmmmm. Not the usual thing huh.
Push my button indeed!!![^][^]
So we pushed and pushed. Nothing like Avon calling but hey there was a click.
The rest is history. So nice to meet the CO Little Squirell. Fun stuff.
A mega jaunt with endeavour3 saw us caching this cache and writing in the log, then we moved on. A lovely place to explore.
Thanks to Little Squirell and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.
I have teamed up with TeamAstro to attend the Wangaratta mega. We are doing some caching on a road trip returning to Adelaide from Wangaratta.
What a brilliant cache. We were initially distracted by the decoys and then the fun started. A FP from me for a most creative cache. TFTC.

Eventually we solved the puzzle. Very clever gadget cache. Thunder in the distance.
e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found as I made my way from Adelaide to the Mega event at Wangaratta with Freddo.
We meandered our way across northern Victoria, camping along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks. We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other caches opportunistically as we were passing.
This one took us a while. We pondered, we pushed every button we could find, then searched some more. Eventually we discovered something that seemed a little odd which did the trick.
Thanks Little Squirell for the very well constructed cache. A favourite point from me.

We looked high and low and pushed and pulled but no joy. Looks so fun though! Thanks anyway hopefully a hint might help.
We came back after a good think and hunt through logs, but it was PAF that saved us. Very cool! Fave added. TFTC
This cache is up there with the best of them, and such a lovely time we had finding and opening. We pressed and we prodded, we pulled and we pushed, we giggled and laughed. It was taking us quite some time to locate this cache, so much so that we went back to the car to get our jumpers and jackets. This apparently was a signal to the CO who happened to be passing that we could be there for the hours. Little Squirell kindly gave us some hints, but best of all we had a great chat and met the CO that has created some of the best caches we have done. Such an enjoyable experience, Thanks Little Squirell, may our paths cross again sometime. And of course, another fav from me.
Clever and deceptive - in the most delightful way. We got much warmer thanks to Snips & CO’s eagle eye… but despite what we thought were ingenious attempts to access the log, it took the CO’s gentle guidance (when a slap backside of the head might have been more appropriate for me) to successfully put our hands on the log. Looking forward to to seeing Little Sparrow at Wang in the new year. Yet another ripper from the lovely Little Sparrow.
I was given the heads up by WazzaAndWenches that this cache was a good one to try. After looking for a while we were joined by him & Little Squirrel while they laughed & watched us in our peril until bingo. What a ripper. Well done & will allocate a favourite when I accrue another one. Thanks heaps & nice to meet you both. Dropped off a trackable
WOW!! AWESOME CACHE!! After arriving at GZ we were surprised to be welcomed by the cache owner!! And then after a little search, our youngest member found the cache!! What a lovely chat with Little Squirrel!! (The cache Owner) thanks for the cache!! So awesome!
Many thanks to little squirrel for this cache. I must say it took me three attempts! And the phoning of a friend. An excellent hide definitely a favourite - thanks for the placement of this cache.
We had this one on our radar for a quick overnight trip to Echuca. And it definitely didn't let us down!! After reading a few logs we thought we were well aware of what we were doing but still didn't help us much. Crawling around, touching, feeling, gentle foot nudging gave us nothing. After about 10mins we had a nice visit by the CO. After a bit of a chat and a clue we finally found the goods. Wow! We love gadget caches and this really impressed us! Lots of work and thought gone into this one! After signing the log and replacing it we got a PT from the CO which was awesome. Thanks Little Squirrell for an awesome cache! Well worth a fav point for sure! TFTC!
