#5448 Camping nearby for Easter at a peaceful property in a bewt spot. Ventured out today for some caching fun. Completed a further 11 finds in this series. Decided to walk from #321 - #325 for some exercise with the geohounds. The hill certainly got the heartrate up a bit! Did not see one single muggle during our time here which was unexpected during this long weekend. #322 gave us some grief as it was not at all what we were looking for and blended in very well to the surrounds. A fun couple of hours, TFTC carkisser.
We are really enjoying these caches another quick find! Cache is damp. Thanks for the cache
Find#6372Nice hiding place Found with the adventure boys during the Whittlesea mega 2022Thanks for the cache
**Found whilst out and about for the day** I have come back to the area to complete the Driving Lesson Series. Last here in July 2016. I decided to come back and finish off the series and also needed a few caches for the new December Solstice 2023 souvenir. The thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more that a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less traveled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be. I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own. Power trails just aren't as much fun by yourself. The weather was glorious, the vistas stunning the tracks were dry and quiet and the geotrails were well defined. Thank you carkisser for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Appreciate your efforts. - P*Took*: Nothing*Left*: Nothing**Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Cache on! **#18629**(Apologies for the late log)
Waking up in Rutherglen this morning, it was raining cats and dogs. So we decided to head south where the skies were clearer and attack some more of the Mt Disappointment series. We had been here a few years back and did a chunk of them, so it was good to be able to revisit today and knock off a heap more. We only have a small handful left plus the challenge caches left up here to do after this trip.
A lot of the older caches need some loving, the logs were pretty bad at some of them but it was great to see a heap of original containers (loved the ones with the engraved lids). We were fortunate with the weather here, only one small shower and the roads were in pretty good condition. Seen lots of muggles with their trailers and chainsaws which was concerning (being there are allocated firewood collection points for muggles).
Thanks for the trail carkisser & JSando, apologies for the cut/paste logs, glad to be able to get some more smilies up here. Thanks for the fun day out in the mud FFLL

It was pouring rain when we woke this morning so Rapidlywild and I decided to head up to Mt. Disappointment to hopefully get out of the rain and try to finish off this trail that we had started a few years ago. We were lucky to have a clear day with one quick shower while on the trails. A successful day although we still have a few to go as well as the challenges, we will be back one day.
This trail could really do with a maintenance run and some TLC. But there are also still a lot of original caches here too which was good to see.
Thanks for the trail carkisser & JSando and thanks Rapidlywild for a fun and busy day.

This is the end for us i(except for a few DNFs) n a fantastic series TFTC and thanks for doing this
Today I decided to finish off this wonderful series. Only six to get and a few solved puzzle caches from the Whittlesea Mega. The sign here read 4WD only but I was game to get these and easily made it up here in my rear wheel drive Ford Territory. Fantastic views and so quiet up here. Loved this series thanks Carkisser & JSando.
Our previous visit to Mount Disappointment was back in November 2016. A short time later, additional caches were added to the series and they were added to our "to do" list. However a number of factors (including covid) meant that our next visit was five years later. Today we went to look for all of the caches published since our previous visit and to revisit some of the caches we DNFd previously.
This was a very steep section of road. At the start the sign said "4WD only. We were pleased that we had brought our 1993 Toyota Corolla AWD. It coped with the steep grades and rough roads very well. Reasonably accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks carkisser & JSando for this cache and the series.

This trail has been on our radar for a while, this weekend was a perfect chance to get out and get it done with @Smithies Outback and @Searchingformacca and a chance to go camping and sit around a camp fire with great friends. Tftc

Find number 9820 at 12:34:17 pm on Thursday the 11 November 2021
Out to grab a few geocaches to bump up my total as I’m approaching 10 years of geocaching and I’m just shy of 10,000 geocache finds, can I make the milestone on my anniversary, I’m damn sure going to try.
An early start from home had me arriving at the first cache at 8:15 am and I headed for home after my last cache at 2:20 pm. Six and a half hours on the road for four hours geocaching. Once I finish these logs I’m going to need a glass of wine
Visited 112 Mount Disappointment geocaches today, found 108 and didn’t find 4, a good day by all accounts.
All geocaches were found in generally good condition except where noted otherwise.
**Thanks for placing this cache carkisser**

Thanks to all the CO's for a entertaining day. All caches found quickly and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, carkisser, for us and others to find.

Teamed up with CorianderConnected during the school holidays with 3 kids in the back, and managed to squeeze in the 2 Geodogs (Minks & Poppy) as well. Packed lunch, thermos and eski – we were set for the day. It was an awesome day that we had been looking forward to for months – sunny with a cool breeze, racing from spot to spot. We headed out to pickup a DNF from last trip, finish off the fantastic 325 caches for this powertrail, and a few more around Reedy Creek too. Ended up needing to do a bit of steep 4WDriving so it tested out the new car and the nerves of some of the passengers. Tally for the day was 31 finds and 1 DNF (prob MIA).
Found at 12:21 by JK. Apart from 2 MIA not yet picked up the kids had so much much , so thank you very much carkisser & JSando.

A very warm day to be looking for caches, but a bloke has to do what a bloke has to do, that is spend a day away from his partner, on St Valentines day
As I have BDO at this time each year I decided to head back up to Mt Disappointment to continue along with this series.
After spending the first part of the morning turning blue frowns into yellow smileys by finding all of the caches that have recently been replaced along the Main Mountain Road section it was time to head to another section of the Mt Disappointment series to continue my finds.
Checked the map and worked out how to head back out to get to this section here on some better roads than earlier this morning.
The road condition changes along here from a nice gravel road to a narrower bush track but is ok for the Geowagon at the moment.
There has been a few trees come down along this section of the track and I stopped to clear the track a couple of times as well so I could keep moving forward.
Still nice and quiet along here and I wasn’t passed by a single car while here.
With good coords I had another quick find.
Back in a slightly populated area and I got a couple of cautious waves from a couple of locals as I drove by.
The sign said 4wd vehicles only and as I’m driving the would be could be 4wd Geowagon as the Geocruiser was tucked away in the garage I walked to the first one along here and realised the Mitzi would be ok as I didn’t want to keep walking up the hill so I walked back and continued along here driving and looking.
Well this is the last one in the series for now (we have all heard the rumours) and it was a great series to do.
I only have 60 caches to go along the Flowerdale Rd which will be completed soon.
As this is the last one I’m very happy to give you a favourite for all of the effort you have put into this fantastic series and a fun one to do while exploring this area.
Thanks carkisser & JSando TFTC.

Après un premier passage en mai 2017, me revoici pour finir cette série de caches. La journée est magnifique et la balade sera tout aussi agréable
By tea-time, however, the dose had been enough, and Mr. Bennet was glad to take his guest into the drawing-room again, and, when tea was over, glad to invite him to read aloud to the ladies. Mr. Collins readily assented, and a book was produced; but, on beholding it (for everything announced it to be from a circulating library), he started back, and begging pardon, protested that he never read novels. Kitty stared at him, and Lydia exclaimed. Other books were produced, and after some deliberation he chose Fordyce’s Sermons. Lydia gaped as he opened the volume, and before he had, with very monotonous solemnity, read three pages, she interrupted him with:
“Do you know, mamma, that my uncle Phillips talks of turning away Richard; and if he does, Colonel Forster will hire him. My aunt told me so herself on Saturday. I shall walk to Meryton to-morrow to hear more about it, and to ask when Mr. Denny comes back from town.”

HORATIO
Not from his mouth,
Had it the ability of life to thank you:
He never gave commandment for their death.
But since, so jump upon this bloody question,
You from the Polack wars, and you from England,
Are here arrived give order that these bodies
High on a stage be placed to the view;
And let me speak to the yet unknowing world
How these things came about: so shall you hear
Of carnal, bloody, and unnatural acts,
Of accidental judgments, casual slaughters,
Of deaths put on by cunning and forced cause,
And, in this upshot, purposes mistook
Fall'n on the inventors' reads: all this can I
Truly deliver.
PRINCE FORTINBRAS
Let us haste to hear it,
And call the noblest to the audience.
For me, with sorrow I embrace my fortune:
I have some rights of memory in this kingdom,
Which now to claim my vantage doth invite me.
HORATIO
Of that I shall have also cause to speak,
And from his mouth whose voice will draw on more;
But let this same be presently perform'd,
Even while men's minds are wild; lest more mischance
On plots and errors, happen.
PRINCE FORTINBRAS
Let four captains
Bear Hamlet, like a soldier, to the stage;
For he was likely, had he been put on,
To have proved most royally: and, for his passage,
The soldiers' music and the rites of war
Speak loudly for him.
Take up the bodies: such a sight as this
Becomes the field, but here shows much amiss.
Go, bid the soldiers shoot.

Found this one today as we went about cleaning up the balance of the Dad's Mount Disappointment Driving Lesson series today. carkisser and JSando have done a wonderful job in setting up and maintaining this series, to them a very big Thank You from the InspectorrexTeam for all of these caches.
Today I headed out to complete the Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson series of caches. I really enjoyed coming up here again and its a really amazing place to take your time to find the caches and take in the serenity of the area. I'm pretty sure I found all of the remaining caches in the series and finally cache #62 which had become my Mt Disappointment nemesis.
It's an amazing area to explore and if you get the chance to camp the night as well I highly recommend it. There's plenty great areas to pitch a tent.
Thanks for the caches and for bringing me up here again.

After a lot of planning over the last few months, the day had finally come to get stuck into this series. I followed the route I had worked out without being sidetracked and everything went pretty much as I had hoped. I made my first find at 7:10am and the last for the day at 6:15pm. By 7 o’clock I was sitting in the Red Lion in Kilmore enjoying a cold beer and thinking back over a most enjoyable day. There was of course the odd DNF along the way as well. The weather was kind to me which helped a lot as well. A big thanks to carkisser & JSando for placing this and maintain this series. Cheers and TFTC
Out for our second trip to mount disappointment, KmanNZ and I decided to better our first trip by finding 150 caches. It took us 7 hours with a beer stop in the middle until we finally made our goal with zero DNF's. TFTC

Since moving from New Zealand in 2016 I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T all multiple times.
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go to is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
I enjoy finding well maintained caches in fun and unique cache containers. No one likes finding a mint tin – but a find is a find after all.
I’m currently working on a Project-GC challenge to get the average word count on my logs over 200 words.
So please ignore the rest of this log as it is just nonsense and song lyrics.
Well she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin' that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, and if she had to die
Tryin' she, had one little promise
She was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well, It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could hear the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin' on the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God it's so painful, when
Something that's so close
And still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well I'm a-runnin' down the road try'n to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy
Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy
Well, I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy

Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy
Out for a fun fun weekend with Gonefishen07 and Bounty Trackers.

And so with #325 under our belt it brings us to the end of the driving lesson for today. Unfortunately the views were not as stunning as our previous visits up here and and they are not likely to improve with the rain. The roads are in pretty good condition, so no chance of getting bogged either.
A much cooler day after the scorcher of 43degrees yesterday, giving us a chance to enjoy a full day of caching in the Mt Disappointment area. We managed to complete the final 29 of the series as it stands at the moment and grabbed a couple more caches before stopping for a late picnic lunch near Caught a Cache? The weather stayed fine and a cool 15 degrees until the rain set in as we neared #323. Needless to say the views were a disappointment with low cloud obstructing them most of the way. The caches were all in good condition and we collected quite a number of party poppers which should be put to good use next weekend! We left a few pathtags and other swag along the way and a TB in #303. We were amused by the name of the first road we found caches on today - Tonsils Road - guess it took us into the throat of the Mt Disappointment area! SL at 1.15pm #5888 TFTC carkisser & JSando - we hear that more may be added to this series in 2019 - so we look forward to visiting this lovely area once more.

The aim today was to finally finish this series and we did. With 6hinemoa2 at the wheel, she managed to navigate these roads magnificently. Thanks carkisser and JSando for all your efforts in placing and maintaining this extremely large series
At last the final caches in this series have been completed. I had my heart in my mouth doing this section and was so pleased that the road was dry. We (sorceysal and 08151605) decided to complete them on the way home rather than in the mist this morning.
Would not like to be learning how to drive on these roads.

Great day out with Team Justice, successfully completing this wonderful series in a day. The challenge has appealed to us for a long time, and it was incredibly satisfying to be able to complete it. Throughout the day we often marveled at the size and quantity of the containers you must have had at home in order to lay these out. Thanks so much carkisser for this astonishingly ambitious and well executed series. We loved it!
A plan was hatched with Clint & Abby over 12 months ago when we saw these caches come out over time. We could get 100, nah, let’s get them all and soon after a few drinks we decided to attempt the lot in 1 day. Time passed and somehow we found ourselves talking about it at a recent event (yes, and more drinks). Let’s do it after Christmas, ok. So, we meet in Wallan at 6am to begin the long day.
We had a few ideas to speed up our caching given we were trying to find 300+ caches in a day and that our previous record was about 60 in a day so this was going to be tough. We put the GPS and pens on lanyards do we could keep our hands few when getting the cache and didn’t have to pick up or get things out of our pockets. We did shifts of 1 hour, so one person did the driving, ate, re-hydrated and relaxed, while the other cached for the hour. The driver also provided the clue up front between caches as the cacher counted the distance down to the cache.
Now to the clues. Tree, stump, log, rock! We were getting a good chuckle over the clues, ‘beside tree’, we are in a forest! We found some of the ‘logs’ were not yet logs (i.e. trees), but they were close most of the time. We thought there might be some sort of random clue generator sometimes.
To the numbers. 330 caches attempted in 10 hours and 22 minutes. We had 7 DNFs and a total of 323 finds. This meant an average find time (including DNFs) of 1 minute, 53 seconds. We were quite amazed at the speed we could go and how quick you could find, sign and move on. It also comes down to the great containers laid out by carkisser for this power trail. Nice and large, and easy to find and extract the logs. We only came across one Eclipse time late in the day. Our biggest hour of finds was our 5th hour of 42 finds. This averaged out at 1 minute and 25 seconds per cache.
Overall, we had a great time as it was a challenge to push ourselves to get all these caches. We loved the layout and the effort to place all these caches. Thanks so much to carkisser for the caches.

Our last of the Mt Dissappointment caches for the day... now to see what else we can grab on the way home
Down in Melbourne for the Parkville Mega. After a detour to Geelong for a wedding yesterday I am back for some caching fun today! Travelling with Minniek, fitzy_1965, B0tmun, Lovetherabbitohs, death killer & my_name_jeff_1 & sneakysquirrel3326 out to Mt Disappointment with a few little extras to get me mine and sneakysquirral3326’s first 100 in a day! And I reached my 2000th cache - what a day! Tftc.

Road trip to Melbourne for the Parkville Mega with fitzy_1965 and my 4 geokids, B0tmun, Lovetherabbitohs, death killer & my_name_jeff_1 (signed kids a 4GKs).
Day 3 saw us convoying with nibletricecakes & sneakysquirrel3326 out to Mt Disappointment. Fitzy_1965 wanted to pick up the newer sections of the series and we picked up a few more inbetween. Quick finds at all caches today......although hayfever set in quite badly for me

Its Mega time ! Headed out for another full days caching with minniek and Nibletricecakes. Today we decided to do a portion of the Mount Disappointment series. I had previously done numbers 1-250 back in Aug 16, so it was great to be back to do the 'new' sections. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and then headed off to the next one.
Thanks carkisser !!

Over for Parkville Event started early this Morning after I landed in Melbourne, with Becknmonts and Loulou0212 we saw some beautiful scenery, great fun completing this series in 1 day. TFTC carkisser
I had a great day out today after LouLou0212 and myself picked Gabs1963 up for the airport. We headed to “Melbourne’s First” and then onto this trail as Gabs1963 has cached our her 450km radius, so she wanted some “easy numbers”. Thanks so much for placing this trail carkisser
After Becknmonts and I picked gabs1963 up from the airport we headed out to start our day, a beautiful quick stop at Melbourne’s first before we headed to start this trail, thanks so much for putting theses caches out, I really enjoyed them - definitely a first for me getting my geo car off the road and on some dirt - TFTC carkisser
I'm in Melbourne for a few day's with Horsesrule1990, heading to the event and to pick up as many caches as possible. Once the Melbourne Mega raps up we will head to the Gold Coast , for a few day hitting all the fun parks. Then heading back to Western Australia, and back to Work. Would like to thank everyone for there caches and there effects hiding then for us to find.all Tftc.

It's been 2 years since I found the Disapointing trail. I was so disapointed that I didn't finish until 11pm, searching for caches by spotlight and keeping my eyes wide open for wildlife on the windy roads.
To my greater disapointment, I only realised recently that the trail continued on beyond the 250 that I had downloaded into my GPSr at the time, and had to come back again to find the rest. At least I finished this time with plenty of daylight left.
Thanks for the caches.

We arrived in the area with a particular plan and that was to do the Dad's Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson trail. All caches were found or replaced (with the permission of the owner) Some still need the logs replaced but we ran out of supplies.
This trail was done with Hans and Linda, the jumping in and out of the car was shared, the driving was shared, lunch was had on the trail where ever we found a place that appealed to us.
Some shots were fired near one of the caches which startled the crap out of us. We did not think that you were allowed to shoot here. The roads were a mixture of good, bad and ugly. Thankfully it was dry it did try very hard to rain but all we saw was not enough to wet the car or us.
We apologise for the generic logs, this does not mean we thought any less of this series. We appreciate the effort that has gone into placing this trail and maintaining it, this is why we were more than happy to help with some maintenance.

TFTC. We had planned a big day of caching with friends Muff1. Our aim was to complete as much as possible of the Mt Dissappointment trail. In general all of the caches were quickly to hand and signed. We attempted to do as many as possible without having to double back on ourselves.
An early start yesterday with Trailstevo to do a few events. Up at 5.20am and off we set for Lancefield to do the 5km Parkrun, picked up a few drive-by cache on the way before hand. Nice to meet a few of the locals at park run, a nice bunch, and then headed to the local bakery after for a Cappuccino and bacon and egg roll. After downing it we head for mount disappointment collecting a few cache on the way, and a DNF at on of the local old mines, and then the last 15 we needed on the power trail. Took the long way around in a few spots as i wasn't too impressed with some of the trails and risk of damaging the car. Eventually headed to the event an met a few of the geopeople I know, collected Melbourne 1st and enjoyed some stunning view. Thanks for all the hides everyone. We have a fun day out. TFTC
Up early to head to geocaching event at Melbourne's first 18th birthday with Gunks, but before that head to Lancefield for parkrun and breakfast. Clean up the caches in the area before moving on to Mt disappointment to do some more then finally arrive at the event, catch up with some others then a few more caches then home. TFTC
Away for a long weekend of caching with Freddo and Four Fun.
Over 300 caches in 4 days means that the logs will be mainly generic.
The main target of our mission was to finish off the Mt Disappointment series. We achieved our target along with other caches as we headed east and then west.
My apologies for the generic logs.

Logging a find as part of the 4FW crew for this giant series. A lot of work has gone into putting this series together. Thanks to Dad and your helpers. All caches were found and logged. The driving was a lots of fun on a beautiful day.
We returned to try to complete this series today. This one was well disguised. This was another enjoyable and good quality cache in this series. Thanks again for the enjoyable roadtrip.
Out again with Smepster and Darcy on this lovely but overcast day. 4 adults 6 kids and lots of adventure TFTC
After being down this way recently, I felt today was a good day to do another detour while heading to my brother's, allowing the geo teen to have a go at driving....after all it is set up for the driving lessons. Took the opportunity to grab a number of these caches along the way. Picked up a number of travel bugs, and were successful on all finds with no DNF's today.
A quick find and picked up a geocoin travel bug to continues it's journey.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks carkisser for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Find # 6865
Found with sharkiefan.
The days plans was to head around the newer Mt Disappointment caches to help sharkiefan to get some more finds to help with the Hidden Creatures Souvenirs, Oh and also to grab a few extras that cropped up on the map.
From a Nice sunny start we headed into fog while at the northern point where we had an interesting drive up to and awesome view at "Crossing Point"
Around the forest tracks the fog disappeared and the sun was out once again.
But nearing the end of the 60 odd finds, of the Trail Caches, we were back into typical late arvo winter chill and back into more fog before ending the day back in Broadford
This was our 3rd time hitting the Mt Disappointment series and like the 2 others before these are a trail/series of caches we thoroughly enjoy getting around and finding.

Found with FUF009 while on a day trip to bump up the numbers and earn some souvenirs. Tftc
When they announced the hidden creature souvenirs event we were always going to head over here during the event, to try and find the 76 outstanding Dad's Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson caches that we had left. So when we started chasing a challenge cache that required us to increase the number of regular size caches it was a case of killing two birds with one stone. The perfect storm that chose today as the day was when we were looking at another challenge cache that requires 400 cache finds on on a particular date in any month. having 300 finds already on the 8th mainly because of 249 Mt Disa Driving lesson caches form our previous venture here meant Sunday the 8th was planned a few weeks ago. Rain hail or shine we were determined to find 100 caches today the bulk being the rest of this wonderful series.
The weather wasn't that kind to us today with plenty of wet stuff falling that in turn was making for lots of mud making it into and onto my car. Sims_family mum was not too impressed the following morning when she came out to use the care
Working our way along the section that has been added since last time we were here
Thank you carkisser & JSando for the great series

Headed up the Hume with Simsfamily and Neville Devil on a mission to complete Mt Disappointment, collect a 100 in a day and finish the Mystical Creatures souvenirs. We were able to complete the amazing Mount Disappointment trail. All but One DNF making it 324 of a possible 325. It was a wet, cold day but it didn't dampen our enthusiasm or enjoyment of this great series.

Back to do the rest of this series and hopefully get a mythical creature or two as a souvenir Oh my goodness this series is a real test of my geocaching stamina! I’ve probably said thanks for the series three times at least, but you keep putting out more
Out on the hunt for some Mt Dissa fun & maybe to boost our souvenir count just a little.

(LAST ONE:-)This was one epic series, it had it all, easy finds, tougher finds, lots of dirt road driving, steep hills, bush bashing, open logged forest, deep dense forests and a leech or 2 to throw in the mix. Both me and TheSkype traveled from the ACT to cache in Victoria and this series certainly is one to bump up the tally which I personally believe is only for die-hard cachers. Do not bring a newbie here, it might get tough, zap their mind and they might never want to cache again. We camped at Andersons Garden campground and this was our base for the 3 days we spent caching. Thanks again pleasure to do business and explore this historic part of Victoria. TFTC. Day 3
#2742 Day 3. Found at 12:37pm with the Green-martian, both from Canberra. Geocached in a 4x4 Outback for over 16 hours, over 3 days. Averaged 20 finds per hour hitting 30 finds an hour between #206 to #235. Found a total of 323 caches with several DNFs. What a marvel it was finding this series. Today marks my most number of finds at 159 including 37 at Woodlands Park. The car and GPS got totally covered in dust. The weather was warm for April. Thanks carkisser & JSando for this epic series of caches.
On our planetary pursuit. Find #54 for today. The end of Mount Disappointment!! Thanks for another fun journey up here. We always enjoy these caches. Well done on the maintenance too, you guys put in a stellar effort.
Gotcha !!! A Fav Pt. from us today for our first day on Disappointment without a disappointment. Visited TBs and GCs. Back tomorrow for another bite. TFTC
After completing the new Space Endeavour Series in pursuit of souvenir points I somehow unexpectedly ended up at Mt Disappointment for the first time. Planning a massive full day run on this series later this week I decided to have a little warm-up and see what the going was like on this power trail.
Starting from the eastern side at 1:30pm I ended at 4:30pm having looked for 65 caches. All found from #325 to #261, except for a single DNF (#263). I was keen to get the trickier new stretch out the way in these drier conditions, and as it turns out my 2WD managed fine. Managed fine except for a few scratches that is , when I inadvertently ended up on 4WD-only tracks (traction control off, revs high is quite a contrast to the normal 4WD low range used in the trickier sections ).
Well that was interesting getting to here along the 'back' roads rather than the caching route. My car made it almost unscathed. Glad I'm driving back along the recommended cache route.
Needed the hint to find this one.
Thanks for the cache and the series, carkisser and JSando.

I've finished the "Dad's Mount Disappointment Driving Lesson" series many times. Each time I do, more caches get placed and I have to come back - I love it! I think I first finished it when there was only 40 or 50 along the trail.
Today, I returned to finish two new sections of the trail - #272 through to #325 and #251 through to #271. I had some issues in the first section; there is a tree down, so I had to go back and access the trail from another road, in the opposite direction. This proved to be beneficial for me as I was solo and the caches were now on the correct side of the road for easy access.
There weren't many others in the park today. A couple of 4-wheel-drives and a few trail bikes. All caches were found in good condition with excellent co-ords. Thanks for the cache, and the series carkisser & JSando.

This is my first visit to Mt Disappointment. Came with McSee&Petal who were coming to finish off this series. TFTC
Apologies for the generic logs for the remaining caches we had left to do in this series.
The plan was made to finally finish the remaining 75 caches on Mt Disappointment that Petal and I hadn't finished, so we put the word out that we would be there on the mountain at 7.00 a.m. today and we soon had Mazza G join us. We started at #272 and progressed to #325 before heading to do #251-#271. Well we hadn't taken into account the amount of dust we would end up both on and in the car, amazing. We cached our way to #315 then as we rounded the corner, we found a huge tree across the road. We overcame this problem by navigating to #325 and worked our way towards the tree. We then drove to #251 and completed the others here, with a single DNF logged in the 75 caches attempted, a great effort. Marian picked up a couple more on the way back to the Hume and collected a nice 76 cache finds for the mornings work.
Thanks go to carkisser and JSando for this amazing series, thank you both guys, a wonderful achievement here.

Apologies for the generic logs for the remaining caches we had left to do in this series.

We continued the Mt Disappointment power trail today to turn the remaining green spots to yellow smiles.
Caching as 8ex, we added another cacher and became 8ex+1. (80degrees, echidna44, xambo4u and au.fait)
A beautiful day for caching, quite warm but no sunshine.
We started at #272 and went through to #325 before stopping for lunch on the only grassy area around. After lunch we chased the elusive #266 to #271 to complete the picture of smiles.
What a supreme effort to place all these caches.
I am sure Dad produced an excellent driver after such a lesson. We missed the beautiful etchings on the lids, but had a great day.
Thanks for the drive amongst stunning scenery and vistas carkisser & JSando

Its a day out with the girls as the 8EX+1 team for the day. We are 80 degrees Echidna44, Xambo4u and Au.Fait. Today we began at #272 and continued through to #325 before having a break for lunch. It was then quite a drive to pick up a few more to the east #266 to #271 before heading back towards town. Another fun day with great company. TFTC
Its a day out with the girls as the 8EX+1 team for the day. We are 80 degrees (driver plus, Echidna44 , Au.Fait and Xambo4uas retrievers). Having done the other trails we feel that junior must have passed the test now ready for more challenges. Picked up from where we left off with the same theme but without the etched tops. All out to get this one. Lunch time. Thank goodness for trees, stumps and rocks. Thanks for your efforts with these driving lessons carkisser & JSando
What a fantastic day. Out with the wonderful echidna44, xambo4u and 80 degrees we set off early on a pleasantly overcast day to find some more in this amazing series. Today we began at #272 and continued through to #325 before having a break for lunch. It was then quite a drive to pick up a few more to the east #266 to #271 which were causing a blight on the map. Signed all these as 8ex+1. Had a great day with great company. Thanks for placing this series to give us so much pleasure carkisser and JSando
Found by Mary & David at 1455. Certainly hope we don't meet another vehicle coming the other way. Our thanks to carkisser & JSando.
