Although archived, we decided to go for a look as we were in the area. Drove through Catho, drove up the hill and wow, a new development happening. Even a bus to Charlestown went past! Found cache easily following the hint. SL TNLN TFTF JT1018

Must have been a small population for that size tank. Interesting, as is the whole area. TFTC

Legal parking is impossible around here, so we just parked there anyway and took our chances. The cache was very quickly found and all was done as required. We retreated to the geo vehicle and moved on as soon as possible. Thanks got to JT1018 for this cache.

It will certainly look different in a couple of years time.

Find #1181
A quick trip down to the Central Coast, mainly to drop the MONEYTALKS TB somewhere. I had a standby cache in mind should we not find a container big enough along the way. I had hopes of dropping the TB here, but it is a pretty small small.... more like a large micro Smile Typical of new developments (sadly looks like a canned development straight out of western Sydney)- no room to park anywhere, lucky we had a driver today and it was pretty quiet, so we just bailed, found the cache in seconds and jumped back in. today we drove down to put the MONEYTALKS TB in a cache...

Great hide. TFTF Smile

It's not a big water tank for a town, must not have been big water users. Not a lot of legal parking available near here but made the grab on a hot and blustery day whilst being shown the new and 'improved' housing estate areas.
Can't imagine the locals liking this much-including family members conducting the tour.LOL

Out on a northern geo-run with Opa-Shrek today we ventured into Catho via this new route - and as we drove past the bulldozed trees and streeted up new estate I almost cried - How devastating to put such a scar across Catho's natural beauty. Slightly devastated at what Catho is to become, and loose its quaint charm, I let Opa-Shrek to the cache and dash on this one too. Thanks for bringing me here, as sad as it is.

Out and about with Mumma-Kel today and as there's been a few caches published around Catho and Budgewoi since we were last in that neck of the woods, we decided it was time for a return geo-visit to the northern end of the Central Coast. Like the cache at the new southern entry to Catho, this was a very straightforward find and again Mumma-Kel was able to stay in the car while I made the find ... which was good as we were able to pull up right at GZ. Took a little time before moving on to check out the views that some new residents will have from their homes ... I just hope that the development does not completely take away the village environment that existing Catho residents have enjoyed here up till now.

Thanks for bringing me back to Catho for the first time in ages JT.

A lovely old boiler used as a tank.
the bus shelter across the road will be as historic in 50 years and then it will be used as historical artwork.

Found with BillHill531 and my youngest son on a trip to Catho and Budgewoi area. My main aim was to find the new Catho series and a few others in my fifty kilometer radius. Most finds were quick and fast to move on from.
No parking right out front, so we went around the corner to park. BillHill guarded the car and boy while I made the find. This is a really great tank, so was a little disappointed about the hide, when it could have been in so many other places, with really cool camo....
Thanks for the drive and cache!

Park and sign - left a soldier to guard the tank.

I have driven past here before the road improvements, and was not expecting the major changes to this area. This is going to be a very large subdivision, and from what I have seen on the web, way too expensive for us. With no parking near GZ we drove around the corner to walk back, where the cache was found lurking about. We then toured the new roads. Thanks JT1018 for the hide.

On my way to Sydney to find a few trig points (and Waymarks) I thought I would offset the cost of petrol with find a couple of caches as well. This one suited me fine, so after cruising around checking the new estate, and find some one way streets, and dead-ends, I parked down the hill before a fenced off section, and then walked up the sandstone 'retaining wall'.
At GZ it was a short search, but the good coordinates meant a quick find. (I'm sure I have seen this type of cache container at work Smile ) Dry and intact; unable to fit a CSM.

**FTF** saw this one had not been found and brought the kids out for a drive and an explore. A bit of a grey old day but the weather held off for long enough.

A quick find. Enjoyed the views over the new estate. Going to be much easier to access the Munmorah State Rec Area from the north soon. TNLN TFTC

2TF. Came past this spot yesterday not realising it had been published. Saw that it was still unfound this morning so we headed out only to be beaten for FTF by The Garbageman. TN left a pretty blue stone we found near Catho #1. Thanks JT1018
