Heading towards Picton for a family reunion.A train passed just as I was signing the log. Photo
Hello dear SeagnoidJust arrived from the North Island heading over to Blenheim, but took my time to stop for a cache or two or three Well foundTftc
Woke up to drizzle/rain this morning so after a leisurely breakfast packed up some gear and headed to Picton. Stopped off for this cache on the way as it was on the correct side of the road and we figured easily found. A handy park nearby and Andy hopped out to collect the container. Signed log in the car so it wouldn't get wet and dropped a couple of my trackables in place. Returned as found. tftc#7096
Dieser Cache konnte heute erfolgreich geloggt werden.Danke an den owner fr's legen und pflegen TFTC Schmerzbefreit
**19,959**Mr Geckoh walked straight up to this one, which was nice. Great to see the sunshine, makes caching so much nicer. TFTC
Instant find this time after two looks a few years ago. Must have been sooo close back then if this has only moved a metre! Thanks
Decided to head up to Picton for some caching. Quick park and grab. I guess I know what I’m looking for now. Cache and log all fine. Thanks for the smiley
I do like this series (including the ones in the NI); so much information.
Heading to Nelson tomorrow for a few days of caching with other Wellingtonians.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache the Seagnoid.

I am out and about from Seddon mainly to locate a few of the Marlborough Rail caches and a few others that take my fancy or get in the way.
Talked to a local farmer who new my maternal family who used to farm in the area back in the good old days.
Cheers for the cache, the Seagnoid.
Of course I remember these. I'll have to try again for the Picton cache of this series, couldn’t get the top off there, so thought I had the wrong pipe.
Moved the cache a metre and replaced the cap - thankfully that was all that was damaged
Log is dry as a chip but it looks like a road edge mower has beheaded the container. Certainly knocked it sideways and its looking a bit worse for wear. We didnt have anything with us to fix this at the moment. Tftc
That was very hard to find until we stood on something in the grond and found it. TFTC
Took a while to find Its had a bit of a life but eventually after manicuring the roadside grass all was revealed..thanks for cache .
Great history

How appropriate that a freight train rumbled past as we were looking for this cache. It was very very hidden in long grass but a structure that this CO uses regularly. Thanks for the cache the Seagnoid
Extremely well hidden in the overgrown verge. Friend and I must've been very very close last time we were here! It is at a funny angle which suggests it's been driven over at some point, although it's still intact. TFTC Seagnoid
This area my have been under water recently. Searched for a while then moved on.
As we're not required back at work until next week, today was a wee visit to Picton, climbing to the peaks. All of a sudden, with the Adv Lab in Picton being logged in real time and this one later, I am only 1042 points away from this months peak. Easy find here. Parked up, ensuring not too far off the road, got out, walked around the geomobile and within 30 seconds, there it was. Too easy. Dropped in a TB. Now only 442 points to go.
Day #3 of our top of the south island road trip with kjr..after out queen Charlotte trip was cancelled
2 nights in picton next stop blenheim..
No luck today..

But I did find a yoghurt pot, and when I poked it with my foot it turned out to be full of yoghurt. Yuck.
But no sign of a cache.

Making good time, so I decided to pop in for the cache. perfect timing, a train came past just as I was looking for the cache, which is well covered now! TFTC!!
A lovely aroma of nets drying nearby didn't make one want to stick around. Cheers
This was my third rail find today and I parked on top of it! (Almost literally. The tyre was less than 40 centimetres from the container.) Therefore, it took me a while to find, but thankfully I knew what I was looking for.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
Had a second look today having found two others in the series. Found a cache shaped hole where indicated and a sensible place so suspect this is missing.
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to visit!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on wet or plastic logs)
*Another good cache located - now onto the next one!*
Last day of our 3 week geocaching trip in the South Island, picked this one up on the way to the ferry.

Familiar with your styles now so quick find. Picked up my nephew hoping to convert him to the joys of caching. tftc
Found with @peadub while on our way to Cape Campbell Lighthouse for the long weekend. Easy find now we know, what we're looking for. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC
(# 6251). Last day of my South Island odyssey and it is very windy around Blenheim. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 3 of our 4 day weekend in and around Blenheim. Today we are heading to Picton, hoping that the predicted rain wouldn't eventuate. It didn't (apart from a few spots of rain) until we drove back to Blenheim late afternoon.
Another quick and easy find, good to get our third in the series this morning. We wondered what the hanging cage nearby is used for. TFTC.

#18595. Another quick find on our way north (this one a bit closer to SH1). TFTC.
Another one! Awesome! Thanks the Seagnoid for placing this cache
It was all quiet at GZ so able to park right next to this one.
Feeling happy to be back in the South Island for a few days!

Day 9 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Having arrived at my rest a few km short of Picton last night in darkness, today's plan was to get to Picton and then work my way back along the coast ending up somewhere near Kaikoura tonight. It's a journey I had made on my very first day visiting the South Island back in 1988, and I was keen to do it again and also see for myself what has happened to the coastline after the Earthquakes almost 4 years ago. That was a hell of a night, even for me some 150km away at the time.
This was my first cache for the day, picked at random mainly for its proximity to the highway and where I hoped to have a quick find, but also as I have done many of its sister series in the Manawatu so was curious to see if it was similar.
Arriving at GZ, it didn't take long to spot a familiar object, and the cache was soon in hand. I encountered no issues with the cache or log, so I was able to do the usual caching administration before replacing everything as found and moving on to the next.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Kiwimykl and I decided to go to Picton today for lunch and he thought it would be a good idea to pick up a few caches that he had already got along the way. Especially seeing the CO is shifting out of the district and who knows what might happen to the caches then. He also wanted to introduce me to a Adventure Lab cache
Kiwimykl was driving and just about parked on top of the cache. You had to be right on top of it to find this one as the long grass hid it well from anywhere but a couple of metres away. Perhaps NZ Rail need to do some gardening around their old stations.
Another QEF PnG.

Thanks for the smiley and a great series of caches for kids to get involved the kids took something and we left something
One I had pre-scouted with Jo especially for a day like this, as on my first visit here I could not spot it. May be prone to a lawn mower incident in the future but for now, it’s all good and a quick snag and tag. TFTC the Seagnoid.
I was perusing the options for a few local caches as I had a bit on this Saturday and did not want to travel too far. So I settled on a casual 4 caches between Blenheim and Picton. A nice little drive for an hour and a bit, all found and in good shape. Thanks all.

#7813. Day 3 of my short holiday in Marlborough. I have a work meeting this week in Blenheim so I flew down early and rented a car to allow me to find the Marlborough TMGT caches and few other caches in the back of beyond. Today the mission was to do some caches in the Blenheim and Picton areas. After having a feed of fish'n'chips for dinner in Picton it was time to head back to my campground in Blenheim. But there is always time for one more cache although this one really was lucky last for the day as the sun had now set. So pulled up here and went for a look. Even though I knew what I was looking for it took me a while to spot the cache in the long grass. Signed the logbook and returned the cache where found. Thanks the Seagnoid for the cache.
We’d had a quick look for this 5 days ago and gave up. But yesterday we found another in the series and it all fell into place, and we knew what we were looking for!! Before our ferry north today we made time to avenge our previous failure and - bingo! TFTC
We looked for this one about five days ago on our way back from Blenheim and failed, miserably. Yesterday we found another one of the CO’s railway caches and we suddenly realised they were likely to be in the same style. We were due to catch the ferry back to Wellington today but arrived in Picton with time in hand so popped back down the road to have another look. CatNich saw it straightaway!! Great idea, Seagnoid.
This was a 'we need petrol before returning the car' excursion... we went a fair way before remembering that the cache was NOT the aim of this trip and we had to get back for our ferry North
This is day seven of a ten day trip down to Dunedin and back to move my daughter there so she can get her master’s degree at Otago University. I am now heading towards Picton to catch the ferry. I counted and there are nineteen places along the road where you have to slow down or stop due to constriction.
I raced the train on SH1 and was able to cross over in front of it safely. I have a cache just like this one in my GROTTY series. TFTC.

Almost a year ago I looked for this one with our granddaughters without success. Called in again today (unfortunately without the family) and it was easy as to find. The grass must have been very long last time and in spite of several searchers nobody stood on it! Good to turn this one into a smiley. Thanks Seagnoid.
On a trip around the South Island with the Gadget family. Crossing the South Island picking up some caches along the way. Nicely hidden. Obvious but so discrete. Tftc.
Quick find this afternoon with eltee291, crman1 and coastal martinis on our way back to Blenheim from Picton! Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache, the Seagnoid!
Found today with hingis20, crman1, and coastalmartinis. Have come frome Victoria, BC, Canada to visit with my daughter and her family in Blenheim and, of course take in some of the great geocaching here. Really great to be enjoying summer in January. Dropped off a TB. TFTC
Found on our return journey north to Papamoa. No problem with the find, great hides thanks for the fun TFTC.
Day 1 of our New Years trip up to the North Island. After the very long drive this morning we planned on stopping for a few caches before heading towards the midday ferry. We missed this when we came through in Jan last year because there was a man sitting here on his phone not ready to move on. A nice quick find here today with nobody about. We took nothing but left a Rainbow Bead Tail. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.
After spending the night in Blenheim we were heading north on our way to Picton to catch the ferry to go home after staying in Waimate for the week for personal reasons. As usual I decided that as I was going to be passing a few Geo caches along the way if the chance allowed I would stop and pick up one or two.
After finding GGC3PQEW - Titoki Tree (Marlborough), we were making our way finally towards Picton and picking up a few caches along the way. I saw this cache on my way South and I decided that if I had time I would stop and pick up this cache when we make our way North.
Making our towards this cache, I kept an eye on the traffic and as we neared GZ, I managed to indicate that I was pulling off on to the side road. I managed to find a safe parking spot at the entry way to a yard and noticed that the cache was least than 20 metres away. Decided to park the car here and walk back to GZ, was quite surprise how quickly I was able to find this cache in the tall grass as it was very well hidden even though it was quite obvious as to where it was.
Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks to the Seagnoid for placing this cache here and for bringing us to this spot TFTC TNLNSL (13909). Glad to get another Marlborough rail cache off my list of unfound caches.
Now it is time to go back to the car and continue trying to find a few more caches on our way to Picton and the surrounding country side before making our way to catch our ferry.

Lovely long weekend in picton with a spot of caching where I was able, thanks for the placement, we were lucky with good weather which meant I had no use of the gummies I brought down with me

Quick find, easy to open thank goodness, as some have been done up way to tight for me to open, particularly in the rain! Tftc
Out with Nana (Darby&Joan) caching around the local area. We loved these caches. So nicely crafted. SL. TFTC.
Out with the Grandson (PDH_NZ) doing some caches for my last day here. Last find for these holidays. Have thoroughly enjoyed these caches, so well made. Being a railway fan household down here, these ones have tickled the grandson. SL. TFTC.
We were wondering what we were going to do to qualify for the latest hidden creatures challenge. We have been streaking for a couple of years so our supply of caches around Nelson are starting to thin out. We decided to come over to Marlborough for the weekend to make up the numbers we needed. We had noticed there were many park and grab type caches in this area so this is where we decided to target.
This cache was well covered in grass when we found it. We couldn't help but hope that a lawn mower does not come and do damage to it.
We left a Trackable, but it has been found and changed hands before we got home to log the drop off.
Thanks for another interesting rail themed cache and for the smilie

On a cache raid to Picton so decided to stop for most of the caches on the way. My pokey pole had to be put to good use here to locate the cache hidden under long grass. Didn't take too long, given the excellent coordinates. TFTC the Seagnoid.
very tricky as we head home but this one took longer than most to find especially as we were looking for a signature container but well concealed
Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

Being a relief teacher with a campervan and a supportive family, I decided it was time to make use of the school holidays. I stayed the night at the Top 10. After this mornings biking and late lunch,, I decided to park and grab.
I was determined to find this one. So I got out my walking pole. Found via tapping.

Thanks. the Seagnoid for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 5747 for me.
This took a few minutes to find, partly because the wheel of the cache mobile was almost on top of it! Still ok though. I see the CO has just found my new cache further along the road, well done on another GH ftf for the month. Thanks for the series and cache here.
The cache is still there. If you have done a couple in this series you well know what to look for. Took me a while to find it it was very hidden in the long grass. Hope it survives any mowers that might come this way!
Quick stop before heading for the ferry, but came up empty handed. Did CITO instead!
A family hunt here with our two granddaughters but no success. Should have been easy? We had a very good look.
We were on our annual family reunion/holiday to Momirangi Bay for 10days and Mum and I took a day to head into Blenheim to go geocaching. My purple pen had gone walkabouts at camp which I was abit miffed about (but everyone was looking for it before we left, so I couldnt be too upset) The day started off hot and muggy and got up to 27° but then turned into rain late afternoon so we called it a day and headed back to camp only for it to alot get worse. A great day with 22 finds and when we arrived back at camp my 7yr old niece had brought me a new purple pen.
We had to skip this one as a man was sitting in his vehicle on the phone right at GZ. We thought we would stop on the way back to camp but it was raining.
