Logs

26-Oct-24
We had been for a walk finding a few caches around a nearby creek and were heading home to get the smoker firing. We of course had to pull in when there was no one here for a quick hunt. After signing the log we of course had to jump on the playground for a quick skoot. Its like they only design playground equipment for kids because I could hardly squeeze into the slippery slide, let alone not let my fat arse get stuck on the way down. tftc

GeoM and I had some time free this afternoon and he decided he wanted to go out geocaching. We ended up driving all the way over to Carina so we could find a few that I haven't found yet.It was getting dark and I asked GeoM if he wanted to try to find one more in the dark. He agreed and I thought this one might be a good one to try. There was enough light from the streets to get us nearly all the way to GZ and then my phone torch was enough to locate the cache in it's hiding spot. While I did the signing duties, GeoM headed off to check out the playground. Apparently swinging in the dark is more fun! Thanks chasingadventures for placing this cache! We had a fun little night time adventure together.

Regarding our bike ride, I departed from the small group of avid geo-cyclists tackling the BBBB series to detour past a few geocaches that I had yet to find in the area. We had left our vehicles on Pine Mountain Road, and we rode a total distance of 17.4 km across an elevation of 218 m, with a moving time of 1:10 hr and elapsed time of 2:55 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/10553685390). It was an enjoyable ride along Bulimba Creek Bikeway that passed through Carindale Recreation Reserve and Bulimba Creek Bicentennial Park, which had plenty of shade. This was a strategic playground and geocache stop, and despite not enjoying playground geocaches a few years ago when I looked suspicious, it is in contrast to now having a child! We managed to grab the cache first, and then when the deed was done, I allowed baby Cottontail to have a climb and swing. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks chasingadventures for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This morning, following a catch-up at the [Carina's Anima - Jungian Study Done!](https://coord.info/GCAHKYZ) event, baby Cottontail and I joined a small group of geocachers by bike to ride the newly published *Bulimba Bikeway Bison Bash* (BBBB) series. It was the fourth instalment, and we rode north from Pine Mountain Road to Old Cleveland Road. Following our ride, we then visited a few other parks: Greendale Park, followed by Carindale Recreation Reserve which had a space/rocket-themed playground for baby Cottontail to enjoy.

Out for the day with PirateLinda, Amber and Geo Dog. Went for a drive to Redcliffe didn’t find any caches over that way. But thought it’s a Friday our usual caching day so we stopped on the way home.. to make Peppa proud!

15-Apr-22
Lovely day out with 2manytrailers, Trailers' geodaughter and Luna the Geodog.
Friday is usually our group caching day but the team figurehead Peppa had abandoned us to head to Townsville for the Mega. So just to prove we CAN cache without him we picked up this one on our way home from a lovely day at Redcliffe checking out the Festival of Sails.
After doing a few laps of the garden a quick read of past logs had us going straight to 'The obvious spot' and making the find.
We all took time hiding from Luna the Geodog so she could have a quick game of hide and seek- perfect park for this.
Then after a play on the swings for Trailers and Luna it was time to make our way home.
Thanks CO for maintaining this cache and saving us from rummaging through too much leaf litter

Thankfully a nice quick find after an unsuccessful FTF hunt at Alex Hills... as mentioned by the previous finder the log is moist, so I’ve replaced the snap lock bag and added some silica to help with the damp... after reading the forums, I’m now confused as to whether this is the right or wrong thing to do...

Tftc...

24-May-20
Great little park for the kids to play in.

Cache was damp and need maintenance. Swags were damp and rusted.

06-May-20
Resorted to the hint and interpreted it wrong at first, which made me search everywhere but the hiding spot.

Decided to search the obvious spot, dig a little deeper, and there the cache was. Signed where I could on the damp log without tearing it.

TFTC!

This one has been on my target list for quite some time and I happened to be driving back from Mt Gravatton this morning so swung in here on my way home.
I entered from the side street and noticed there was a mother and two young children at the play area so i continued walking. By the time I returned they were leaving so it didnt take long from the to lay my hands on cache. I like it when they are in the spot I know I would have stashed it
With log signed and cache returned to where found it was time to move on.
Thanks for the placement a muggle no more and for contiued maintenance and adoption Chasingadventures

A nice shiny Diamond at this cache as part of the souvenir challenge. Ghostgums and I took a detour via this one to add to our jewel heist and located the container nice and quickly on arrival. [^]

Log out and names in, our work here was done so the container was returned as found and we headed off.

Cheers Chasingadventures.

Have looked at this piece of land many times as I have driven past on Creek Rd but have never ventured in. We had the place to ourselves so were able to hunt in peace and the kids could have a swing. Chikinlittler found this one for us. Dropped off a TB we have had for way too long. We picked it up in the UK, took it to Lapland and then on to OZ.

06-Mar-19
After finding an unloved cache, I still had time to spare before meeting family for dinner. As I was passing by this park, I decided to stop off and find this cache too. With my name added to the logbook, and the cache returned its spot, I continued on my way. TFTC

A day out South of the river was planned for today, and despite the wet weather and muddy puddly ground, we decided to go for it anyway and made the most of things. After all, any day caching beats a day at work and what's a little water, we ain't made of sugar Razz.

The park was deserted here, making for an easy for me without the need for stealth.

11:04. This traditional cache makes find number 5,612, thanks **a muggle no more**. Discover our TB

A nice easy cache to find having had a few days off...Hint was spot on, so we quickly had the CIH. The logbook was a bit damp, but the enclosed silica bag should hopefully help it out. Took the frog and left a cog as our replacement. Kind thanks a muggle no more

Out for a few hours before work again. Getting the numbers of for a milestone hike in a few days. Smile

The park was empty this afternoon. Cool A short walk from my parking spot. The hint almost threw me, but I chose to ignore what I thought it meant and went straight to GZ.

They are probably weeds, but there were lovely flowers along the creek bank today. Big Grin

Took a TB.

Find #2278

I needed a find today for my found date calendar and, at 8km, this was one of the closest unfound to home. I really should have planned that better. So, I got up early and headed over, parking 40m away on Creek Rd.

Donning my headlamp, I wandered over and, with spot on coordinates, made a quick find. There was just enough room in the container to leave the elephant TB that I picked up at Mt Coot-tha a week ago.

Don't you just love Parks with muggles in them..not me. After abandoning my efforts at Lincoln Dragon...so many muggles and right next to GZ, I moved onto the next caches on my list for this afternoon. This is the 3rd one to find on my way home from work. Parked across the road and walked over to the playground and 3 muggles and 2 dogs in the park. Roamed around GZ trying to not look suss ducked into the trees unearthed the cache and wandered away to sign the log. Quick find. Signed the log added some treasure all dry here but I added a silica pouch to the log book bag. Righto now to put it back..move along people oh yay they are leaving. cache back in hiding place.TFTC a muggle no more

Sooty the cachemobile was unbelievably hot when I left the comfort of the gym. Rolled to a stop at this shady park I didn't know existed and scooted across the road. There were about a zillion zippy black ants sharing this space with the cache. Scrounged around for a stick and shook off the little guys.

Cache logged and returned to its hidey hole and now for the other cache just down the road.

TFTC a muggle no more!
