We're travelling around in a rented campervan (it's okay: I know where my mirrors are, I use them, and I pull over often ). Day one was Christchurch to Auckland to Matamata. Day two, Hobbiton then off to Rotorua. Day three (when I found this cache), was a trip to "The Squeeze" with NZ Riverjet, and a *very* quick trip to Huka Falls (bucketing down, we didn't see much).
Today (as a catch up on logging) we visited the Redwood forest the drove to Cooks Beach in the Coromandel (a bit of a drive in a camper)! Loving the trip, and finding a few select caches.
This rest area is right opposite the Riverjet base. We arrived early and were asked to wait 10 or 15 minutes. What to do? Walk across to find the nearby geocache of course! A nice easy find so we were back in plenty of time to check in for our boat ride (& walk up a warm creek).

Located with kiwitrecker1 while travelling between Rotorua and National Park. Located the cache safe and well though the log will need replacement soon (kicking myself for not bringing the bag with spares). Spent a while enjoying the river view. TFTC!
Team BOP gets together for an impromptu road trip to the Hawkes Bay to avoid the bad weather at home.
... Just one more...
Lol, have said that for a few caches now on the way home.
Sorry, just couldn't turn left. As we were returning home from a weekend caching trip, it was a right turn into this area, for a quick find under torchlight.
Tftc.

I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Quick find on the way to Orakei Korako. Had a nosey at the river afterwards. Tftc
We visited Orakei Korako this morning and now we are on our way to Rotorua for 2 nights. Decided to stop and grab this one . . . . . . I am driving so my son (2FLYTIM) jumped out to make the find . . . . . quick find and signed and off on our way. TFTC
Heading to Rotorua for a couple of nights with my finace, and Mum (SethRaven) and master SethRaven. We have just visited Orakei Korako and made a quick stop here . . . Mum is driving so I am the finder . . . . . found . . . signed . . . . and rehid . . . . . TFTC
Mr rattll needed a break from driving so we had the opportunity for one last cache as we head for home, so we headed left instead of straight ahead.
There was one other muggle car in the area but we managed to park between them and the cache and block their view completely.
Thanks for setting this up for us to find

A spur of the moment decision to head to Palmerston North to attend the Goodbye 2019 and Hello 2020 events saw us heading along passed this cache - couldn't resist the urge to stop and bag it, so we did. TFTC

Arriving into NZ with Itskate for a little family getaway making our way from Wellington to Auckland with a rental car. A caching / need to attend a wedding inspired holiday.
Day 4,5,6 made for much smaller find numbers as we travelled from lake Taupō to Pukehina beach. As this was our resting place for the wedding. A few small trips around the area to collect certain things made just enough time to collect a few smiley faces.

10.30am. We too have turned right here a number of times. We remember crossing the river in the boat hung from the wire. Quick find.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Found with a sister during our expedition to NZ (from CZ), where we explored part of the North Island and could visit our classmates and friends that we have not seen for several years, as it is here, in Auckland and Napier live ... Thank you for cache ...
Spending a couple of days in the area with family visiting from Aussie, so proud to show them my beautiful adopted country. Picked up a cache or two as well. This was an easy find as the container was in full view lying on the fence rail, closer inspection showed that it had become detached from its anchor. After signing the log we reattached it and returned it to what we assume was the original spot. TFTC
During our vacation in New Zealand we did some geocaching. We saw a lots of amazing places and say thank you to everyone who shared his geocache with us.

Quick stop on the way to Taupo and also a quick find, which was good as the rain was increasing again. TFTC!
Nice solid attachment that meant this cache was right where it should be, safe and sound. The river is high and beautiful today after the rain.
I had looked for this on a previous occasion, with no luck ..today it was a cinch ..thanks Gen custer

16/05/18 Missing. Sorry. Thanks for letting me know. Will replace in a week or so. GC.
Found the hide but no cache. I would have put in another but I have run out of spare caches.
We are travelling down to Feilding to look after some of our grandsons. Day one: Gordonton to Taupo by a rather indirect route.
We were hoping to find this cache which would fill in a missing minute in our 38th degree, so as we approached we Turned Left. Had an extensive hunt, but sometimes Nothing Goes Right.

I think I found the remains ...but thats all Gen you may want to check it out cheers
Suspicious lack of logs since July. Hunted all over at gz but no luck. Did find remains of a securing device- part of cache??
Cache was an easy find. Had my TOTT in the car. I get log out and almost lost it in the grass. Driven past a few times thinking there's got to be a cache here. Today was the day to stop and look. Cache is need of a new log sheet but otherwise fine. Tftc
Stopped off here to let the geo hound have a pee on our way to Taupo. I am glad I had a TOTT with me. It took longer to get the log into place than find the cache. A good thing my fingers were not cold.
Have found tiny caches before but that would have to have been the smallest log we have found. What a mission to get it out!! Saw jet skis whizzing by down at the river. Log signed b&p. Find number 4232.
Thanks for the cache GenCuster.
Thanks for the cache GenCuster.
Cache found quickly by DD partly as she owns a geocache at home the same size as this, although she just tells me that she has yet to site it! Many thanks
Travelling around the world with Dartmoor Deliverer celebrating her taking early retirement!
NB Dont forget our Devon UK Mega 2017 GC6JZNY this August in the beautiful East Devon area of our county. UK Megas are over one week full of events and geocaching - a wonderful way to enjoy our county!

Out with Red Roaming on our tour of New Zealand, which we are loving. What a nice sunny day, if a bit windy. Driving up to Rotorua to our next hostel and caching on the way. I soon found this one as I have a container this size at home. TFTC
After finding it. I dropped the bit with log in the long grass but thankfully I found it and wrote in the log. The challenge after nearly losing it was getting the log out. But ingenuity paid off so it was finally signed. Last for the day for us. But a good end today's geocaching. TFTC
On the way back to Wellington from Rotorua, GSEL reminded me that there was a cache here, and it would be good for a distance challenge I'm working on. Fortunately the area was empty when we arrived, and the cache quickly located - but it was very fiddly to get the log out and to replace it! 4.9km added to the lonely cache tally, much appreciated. TFTC.
We turned left for the quick find. TFTC from the Team VPMH. Regards from the USA.
Maintainence check. Thanks to whomever replaced the (oh so tiny) log. Cheers, GC
We struggled to get the logbook out, but solved it after some clever thinking om my wife! Tftc
On a 10 day holiday of the North Island of NZ visiting from Australia sl thanks for the cache. Now off to do the jetboat squeeze across the road
This was our first ever visit to this area - and how lovely it was, just great. Thanks for the placement.
A half year ago we - McMuffin, Flitzpiepe, LE Surfy and I - started with the concrete plans for our holidays in New Zealand . The flights and the campervan were booked, the hotels in Auckland and Christchurch were selected and the route was planned . On 16.2.2017 we started our journey and arrived on 18.2.2017 in Auckland, a little bit tired, but very excited. The baggage was given in the hotel and we already went on sightseeing and seeking caches. Of course, we visited at the harbor, walked through the streets and had a look over Auckland from the top of the Skytower.
On 19.2.2017 started our campervan adventure . First we drove to Coromandel Peninsula. I like the Driving Creek Railway, the New Chum Beach and the Cathedral Cove very much.
Then we drove criss-cross the North Island. At first we visited Hobbiton, we saw the glowworm caves and stopped at the imposing Mount Taranaki .
The route took us back to the Tongariro National Park, to Lake Taupo and to Rotorua. The hot springs and geysers are really impressive. We also stopped at the Huka Falls. It was great .
Of course we found some nice caches. Here I can't remember if we turn left or right but we could find the cache easily.
Thanks for the cache and many greetings, Iliona

Its Been a while and now its time to catch up on all the logging that I've put off to a rainy day (while it may not be raining, where we were heading the roads are still closed hence sitting here doing this).
A bit of a mini mission with HKCB & RWIMF to clear out many of the caches south of Rotorua. There were a few specific caches targeted for the day but there were also enough other caches to make it a very interesting day. A great big thank you for all the work and effort put in by the cache owners in keeping it all going. (and you'd be surprised where you can actually take a 2WD work vehicle when the boss doesn't know)
So thank you for the placement, thank you for the cache

On a bit of a clean out mission in the South of Rotorua with Cats&Dragons and RWIMF, but we did have our eye on a few specific caches for the day. Is was a really good day out with a lot of new places visited, however the day didn't quite go to plan as there were a couple of things happened which made the day very eventful and in the end cut short the caching day, but more on those at the caches they happened. Sorry for the mostly copy and past logs, but a big thanks to the CO's for the placements and the reason to visit these places. We signed the logs with HamC, HCR or a mash up of both.
A muggle was camped nearby, but we managed to find without any problems bar my pen wasn't happy with the waterproof paper, so the HamC and date was a bit hard to make out. Thanks for the hide.

The freedom campers were out in force at the spot as we drove up, so the boys made quick work in finding the cache while I raided my bag to find some breakfast.
A little confusion about left an right, but at the end we got it.

Brought a younger pair of eyes with me today and boom, there it was. I was clearly cache blind yesterday. BEWARE, WASP NEST CLOSE BY SO LOOK BEFORE PUTTING ONES HANDS ANYWHERE!
Staying in Taupo so decided to have a bit of a drive around the countryside to the north. As I was going the opposite direction the cache name had to be reversed for me.
Cheers for the cache.
