Staying in Mt Gambier for a few days, we decided to walk around the Blue Lake, even though it was quite hot and windy. This cache was found quickly and easily in the second place we looked.
I was looking in the wrong area but Jay knew what to do and her geosenses led the way!
Went for one more lap around the lake after the CMCA Motorhome Rally at the Showgrounds and found this Cache.

The lake was a little grey today but still looks pretty awesome. Nice easy find on our way to the NT
TFTC a day out caching with EL900 Nice memorial spot amongst the Trees and Garden.
We set-up camp at the Caravan park , nearby. Interesting we found the container by the sculpture. I was being stupid looking through the hole and said that is a geocaching container. Took the container to GZ and placed it there. Lucky the log sheet had the name of the cache. Thanks to CO
TFTC,Time to head home after a massive trip through NSW, Qld., NT, WA, SA and still to come Vic. Visited trackables.An interesting story here, while doing the Blue Lake EarthCache, we found the container and log sitting in the Sculpture. Stamped the log and returned to where we believe it belongs. Advised the CO.

We are travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are in Beautiful Mt Gambier for a few days, soaking up the amazing things this area has to offer. We especially love the bush, the back roads, and the wild southern seas. TFTC LNCU.

We were in Portland visiting Dad for a few days and as the weather was not too good today we thought we would head over to Mt Gambia and see how it was here.It is great to hear these good stories of perseverance. Mr Adrian de Bruin sounds like the person any locality would welcome and it was great to read his businesses are still going.It was a shame about his death but at least it was quick and in a place he loved, no one can ask for more than that.We were searching around the wrong place until Diane checked the GPS and not long after we had located the hide and added our name to the log.Many thanks TT016 for history lesson and showing us this location.

This one was nice to find, I found it on the 1/4/24 at 2:30AM.Its important to note that the bench itself is heavily maintained by the council, so the cache is not on the beach itself.You will also need a pen and some tweezers.

Tftc. I have vivid memories of visiting the Blue Lake 55 years ago. Of being amazed at such blue water. Still got the same feeling today.
It was AtTheLakeHouse who made the find at the Memorial Resting Seat. AtTheLakeHouse, Shazzar66 and I were in Mt Gambier for a day and a bit, travelling from Adelaide to Melbourne following The Great Leap Forward Mega Event. We had a well thought out and researched caching list for our trip: Oldies, good and needed D/Ts, Challenge caches, caches with lots of Favourite Points, plus anything else that took our interest when we had extra time in our schedule.Thanks, TT016, for the cache.
We were in Adelaide for The Great Leap Forward (Mega-Event). After the event we made our way through to Mt Gambier, and cached a few random caches in the surrounding areas.I found your cache, Memorial Resting Seat today. Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in last night packed the car and headed off to SA this morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Heading towards Millicent today as I missed the Mega due to the Rona that was going around so it was about time I made a visit there.I finally crossed the border and then gained my 1/2 hour and now its LGA time.I dont know how long its been since I have been to Mt Gambier and it seems such a very bustling town.After a couple of laps around the lake it was time for a few trads.I hadnt heard of Mr de Bruin but I have heard of one of his business and I even used his seat.Thanks TT016 TFTC.

Always wanted to come to Mount Gambier. Quick find while driving around the lake. Starting to get hot. Cr said it was 37 degrees but I saw a sign that said 42
Visiting Mt Gambier and got the bright idea to walk around the lake without checking how far it is. Luckily there was this little cache to break up the walk. TFTC
We looked everywhere trees, fences, seat no where to be found. Big disappointment as Little Miss Cache (age 7) made the huge effort to walk the lake to find it! finally looked at the log and saw all the DNFs maybe a hint would make it easier for our kids
This one eluded us today. Only managed a quick search as many people walking by.
Well sadly this one has got the better of us today, not to worry, still a great day for a walk and a good reason to visit again tftc
Sadly we forgot our pen. Love a good geo to keep my 10yo interested in hike.
Into the mount with a bunch of teenagers to show them the lake. Not so blue today but it's still a cool spot. Left them to it while I walked to this cache, luckily it was well located. Looked in the wrong spot before checking the coords, easy find when in the right spot! Thanks for the cache.

I’m sure Charles hasn’t even noticed I have skipped across to South Australia instead of joining his birthday celebrations at Buckingham Palace.
Luckily we have had an extra long long weekend as there has been much to see here in Mount Gambier.
My muggle friend has run around the lake each morning and today we are back on sunset to enjoy the view and of course, find a cache. It is a serene area and the Valley Lake was equally impressive with the fabulous nature reserve and native animals.

Found with tassie expat while exploring this interesting area. Wasn't in the obvious place but the coords were accurate enough for a quick find. Tftc
