Mum checked this on the way to ChCh today. the hiding place has been cleared and opened up alot (too much to actually HIDE a cache here.) A new one will have to be placed nearby.
Cheeky little puzzle of parts. The later being the hardest. QEF at GZ today in more rain. TFTC and greetings from the UK. Liked the container have a favourite point
Found with Blue Jay on our first day driving around New Zealand. Today we drove from Christchurch to Hokitaki and saw from lovely scenery as well as picking up a few caches. This was one of them. Quick find after doing the nearby labs.TFTC. Toffee Man.

Solved the puzzle with a little help from a friend, then it was a nice easy find on a lovely trip out to this neck of the woods Thanks for the fun
Staying in Springfield a few days so a few caches to clean up!This one took a while solving puzzle in puzzle in puzzle to get the checker tick !Then today a quick stop to find and sign, which was by far the easy bit! Thanks
I very much love getting to visit the South Island. Until recently it wasn't something I got to do very often, but in the last year I've managed a series of mini-trips for geocaching, and here we are at the start of 2024 with another one. Just like my first SI trip in 2023, I've come to Christchurch to target a few specific caches to help with my Jasmer Grid, and qualification for a few challenges I'm currently working on.This is Day 2, and it's raining. Not major deluge-type stuff, but just a bit heavier than a fine drizzle. The kind of rain that gets into everything and can generally make for a miserable time caching even if you have wet weather gear. So I had a cruisy morning catching up with yesterday's logging before deciding that I really had to get out if I wanted to get any caches today. So I set forth, via a Couplands Bakery because, well this is the South Island right?Having failed to find GCE92 yesterday, I had decided to target the only other July 2001 cache available to me, so headed over to Glentui Bush to make the find. With the rain still falling, I figured I'd still be able to take the scenic route back to Chch whilst stopping to find a few park 'n' grabs, and so I pulled over for this one. Another puzzle solved some time ago, so good to stop to look for it today. A quick find here. No issues to report with this cache, and I soon added my name to the log and then replaced everything as found before heading back to the car again. Thanks for setting this one up.
After spending a rather sleepless windy and rainy night at Klondike Corner we ummed and arred about what to do today. We decided we would carry on with plan A for the day and find a few caches as we made our way to Christchurch.I am a bit surprised at how many puzzles I had solved over the years but had not been in the area to find them.So while we were passing today we stopped, I leapt out and found the cache in the obvious spot.Thank you for setting up these fun puzzles and thank you for the smiley
I usually dont like jigidis, but this was a good one with the extra bit that had to be solved after the jigsaw had been put together.FINALLY, and with humble apologies for being so late, I am catching up on my logging.Day 6 of The North Islanders in Canterbury tour with Liss Crew. We are targeting specific caches -oldies, and puzzles. Of course, there will be days of laughter.During our time here, all found caches were signed as NZL, regardless of whether either of us has found it previously, or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.
I'm from Paihia/Whangarei and I'm down in the South Island for 6 days with NZ_B on a geocaching trip. Logs mostly signed as NZL.I had a few goals for the trip and I was very pleased to achieve them all *50 or 60 puzzles for my diamond badge on project gc*40 caches to get to my 6000th find*19 South Island minutes to complete a challenge*but mostly a clean out of my ever growing solved puzzle list with 157 found on this trip. Monday we collected the windmill geoart on our way to Oamaru. Tuesday the focus was solved A2O puzzles, the sunflowers and other solved puzzles. Wednesday we headed back to Christchurch collecting challenges and more solved puzzles. Thursday's focus was the Smile series around Lake Ellesmere. Friday was the old Port Hills cache and puzzles in the Christchurch area. Today was our last day. Again a puzzle focus around the outer Christchurch area. Solved this in Dec 2020. Pleased to make a quick find here today. I had two more of your puzzles further out but time is short so I won't make it out any further today. Thanks for your puzzle
I solved the puzzle a while ago so it was great to come here today to find the cache easily. Cool container. Another favourite.
I can’t remember when I solved this puzzle and it was a quick find today while I was geocaching in the area
Solved a little while ago but had to redo it as I realized I made an error. Cute container and appropriate GZ.
Great to be able to pick this cache up on a trip down to Christchurch - the CO was very helpful when I was struggling each stage of this puzzle, thanks so much. Great spot, TFTC

We had spotted a few other North Islanders make a personal 24hr find record so we took note of the general caches found and made a plan to try our luck, our previous best was 172, our aim was "more than Yeti", check out GC6PRMW once we have logged them all to see how we did...
A quick find here, a great well themed container.

Heading back East to the plains today. A quite quick solve of the puzzle. A quick find once at GZTFTC
I wasn't going to go further west than the edge of town but this one was *SO* close! Parking was an issue at GZ (the grass is long and I couldn't tell what was under it) so I parked down the road and carefully walked to GZ.
I hadn't made not of a hint when solving this, but it wasn't needed anyway. Happy days.

(Logs signed Rincewind3 or R3 if saving space. Occasionally signed BRN if caching as a team with *B*o&bronnie, *R*incewind3 and *N*otManlyJack)

Visiting New Zealand for a big adventure with Muggle George, lailabach, fire blast, Spider-Man and Captain Underpants. Had to write back to Australia for some help from some puzzle minded friends to get this one solved, but we thankfully were successful and still in the area to be able to pick it up!! A great day in the mountains - horseriding and visiting with the three little pigs! Thanks for the cache.
Found it! This was a surprisingly challenging cache to solve, not least because the jigsaw was a real pain to put together. Fortunately, I guessed how to solve the next stage immediately, and the final find was simple, and the container was very cute. TFTC!
I took me a while to solve the puzzle and I was so excited when I did. Our GPS on the phone was about 15m out but we followed the hint and voila. TFTC
Out this way today and stopped to grab this one. Love the three little bigs and the cache was in good condition. TFTH
Solved this one quite a while ago when doing quite a few of the series in the area. Stopped by today while in the area to make a quick grab. Cute container, TFTC.
We stopped to give this one a new baggie so find the piggies have tried to escape. We reattached them to the cache container so its All good here again. Glad to see the structue still standing (barely) so it still fits the theme of the cache. Happy Caching
Found while out on a tour of the West Coast with Thedbees. Loved the little piggies on top. TFTC
Went on a road trip with my daughter CalumD out to the West Coast and collected this while passing. I loved the container and it's piggy attachment. A great find. TFTC.
Had a bit of a hunt before inspecting the obvious spot a bit deeper. There has been a bit of flooding but the double container worked pretty well. It needs a new ziplock as it seems perished and broke. TFTC
On a Geotour trip for the week.
All GT caches found for the day. Now to get the numbers ticking over before checking in to the Springfield motel.
Nice container. TFTC

Quick outing today as little miss three wanted to visit the doughnut playground. Thanks for the cache.
The puzzle presented no problems, and the cute cache was a quick easy find at a location consistent with those unfortunate pigs whose houses failed. TFTC
Solved a little while in preparation for this trip. Quickly found the appropriately themed cache. Thanks!
Cache number two for the morning. Heading back to Mt White Station to pick the boys up at the end of their week long camp. As I had a specific cache I wanted to grab today I wasn't making very many stops. So many caches are too close to home when traveling from the West Coast (already stopped too many times by the time I get to them) or not close enough to home to go out specifically for them. This was one of the few puzzle caches I had solved over the last week so I decided to give it a go. Quick easy find, loved the container. Logbook a little damp but still very much useable.
Do mind your head when at gz.

I had solved the puzzle ages ago and we were finally in Springfield today to make the find. Nice container! TFTC.
Out with busy paws to find some caches. The weather is miserable but we hope it improves once over Porters. This was a fun puzzle and very cute cache containeer. Thanks for this cache gracie7 + Mum.
Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
No time to waste today - We each had caching jobs to do, and our day was mostly planned... Another fun solve and quick find... Thanks gracie7 + Mum. TFTP and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with ABCDF4 we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region

Just spent ages doing the puzzle to get to another puzzle. Bummer. Thankfully The Seagnoid had used his puzzle solving prowess so we could snag and tag this one. Great container. Cheers
Friday today, we explored from Rangiora to Lake Lyndon
Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

Nicely doubled container. Bit of a rarity around these parts.
Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.

**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
After washout weather 4 years ago on the 29th February we have been keen to greatly increase our Leap Day Finds tally in 2020. To that end we made sure we were in Canterbury ready for some quick puzzle trails this morning, and determined to cache all day. We spent last night in Springfield, and started the day with a local puzzle find or two. We enjoyed this layered puzzle, and made a quick find, thanks.

Found on a three day caching journey over to the West Coast. We really enjoyed the challenging hours spent in solving the many puzzle caches and now the signing off on the log books. We had a great spell of weather as we traveled along the many roads in the area. Many thanks to the various cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. TFTC
Had a great day traveling from Oamaru to the West Coast, grabbed heaps of caches, and had a lot of fun. Many Thanks Bitsprayer

Had arranged a big caching day out with Mr Cuddly Brick and this was the area we decided we wanted to head to. To clear out the new Smurfs caches, and other random caches that we passed. Logs were either signed 2wombles & MCB, or 2CB, or Mr Cuddly Brick depending on who had the pen at the time.
A perfect day for caching. Not too hot and not too cold!

Last day of the long weekend and a long drive back to Blenheim via Greymouth (yep, that’s right) with the goal of getting a whole heap of ‘bridge the gap’ caches and anything else easily accessible or interesting.
With a lot of kms to travel, there was not room for much more unfortunately.
So a successful trip but the real heroes were the weather and the scenery.
I had forgotten a bit how stunning it can be in and around places like Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass, and a great spring day with snow-capped mountains for a backdrop made a bit of a self-inflicted slog actually quite enjoyable.
Thanks all COs, and sorry for the cut and paste, but I hope you can understand why. All logs signed Cap/ricnz or variations on the theme.

Thought I found this yesterday but realized I hadn't. Called by with ricardinho today and admired the container. T F T C g7&m
It's the last full day of the trip and I intended to make the most of the day and was up with the lark, cockerel more like, and in the car at 0530 ready to get going. I called in for an early brekkie and hit the road early to meet Ricardinho.nz at Springfield. We cached our way back to the West Coast via road barriers and others en route and I set off for home after leaving him in Greymouth after visiting all 8 of the TMGT caches there. Home at 7PM and a decent haul of over 80 caches, including 5 Earthcaches. Awesome scenery and views and a cracker day of weather too. 620KMS for the day travelled and time for a rest!
It's that time of year again when Marlborough residents get a double bubble, two 3-day weekends in a row and a chance to get out there and find some caches. Last weekend I headed over to Golden Bay with ricardinho and we managed a healthy numbers-boosting haul of 82 over 2 days. This weekend I'm planning on finding some already solved Canterbury caches and get me closer to a 5 figure finds number, the big 10,000. At the start of toSaturday this was a 4 day, at the end it was a 127-day!!
The Saturday was planned to be a big day and to get over 100 caches in a day if possible and start converting those puzzle pieces into smiley faces. Success was achieved in that we found over 120 each. I personally found my missing Smurfs, Metal Mania, Glossary of Geocaching as well as a number of other solves and collateral Traditionals. The Canterbury weather turned it on and a good day was had with ric.nz driving and me navigating (sort of)
The Sunday was a Geo-art loose ends day. My plan wqas to track down the remaining Smurfs, round up some horses and grab a couple of loose Eclipse mint tins. I also explored the realms of Springfield in preparation for a return across SH73 on Monday.
Apologies for cut and paste but will add detail where remembered.

On an expedition to the Craigieburn area specifically to get a 43 07 but as many others as possible too. Thanks for your cache. I had solved this puzzle a few weeks ago but think I got a wee hint at one point which made it clearer. Great puzzle, great container.

A joint effort with purdiepurdie who did most of the puzzle then needed help when she got stuck. My first thought was in the right direction but didn't work. Then inspiration hit and we had the coords. It was a pretty easy find at GZ in a light drizzle. We loved the cache container.
Thanks for a great puzzle and a neat find.

Theme just fantastic throughout the cache.
A favourite point from me.
Dropped of travel bug.

What a nice little puzzle. I hate solving puzzles on my phone and it uses too much data, but.... it flowed really we and I loved the theme for all parts of tge puzzle. I forgot to note the hint but it wasn't needed. The three pigs had been fir a head long dive and there was some ingress of water but not in the internal container. Thanks for the puzzle and cache Gracie7
Nice little puzzle a couple of twists..solved and a well themed container ha ha ..thanks Gracie7+ mum
Solved the first part pretty quickly and then came to a sudden stop, which then caused the puzzle to go onto the back burner. Every now and then it would be retrieved and pondered over before being returned to the pile of unsolved. Eventually, I got a nudge from someone and once I got home the puzzle opened and I had some decent looking coords.. Thanks for the mind-bender Gracie7+Mum. Found today on my Craigieburn raid.
This puzzle has been solved since publication but we haven't been in the area to grab it, until today. A quick find of a cute container.

We are on a mission today trying to get the numbers for the Hidden Creatures Challenge. We were committed to some caches around Cass but also to our habit of caching back. Meaning travel as far as the furthest away cache planned for the day then find the caches on the way home. It meant a round trip of about 400km and meeting our objective in the process Overall the weather was nice to us although thick fog in the morning slowed us down for a while. GZ looked like it had suffered serious trauma after a weather event and we expected the worst for the cache. Not so. In our search we noted three little piggies looking up at us snug as a bug and safe. A fav. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
I have been sitting on the solution for this cache for a while and decided to stop here on the way to the West Coast this afternoon. I didn't have the hint but didn't need it, the find was just about instantaneous. Signed log, TFTC.
Cute. Quick find at the GZ. Lovely day today. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25. Find # 1625
Tftc! First ever mystery solved during our short stay in springfield camping. Nice hiding location
Tftc. Had no clue what to do at first as I didn't find a link to jigsaw, but typed GC code to Google and found it. Took couple of hours to solve the puzzle while chilling at the campsite, and took the cache next morning.
On a daytrip to ChCh so we stopped to check on this one. We removed the wet log and added a smaller one inside a pill container inside the original container. Hopefully this makes it a little more waterproof. All good to go again. Happy Caching
Today's mission was a drive from Christchurch to Greymouth on my way home to Nelson. Trying to find 'a few' caches along the way. It's been ages since I travelled this route so there were actually heaps of caches to find and at the end of the day my tally was 81. Biggest cache day for me for a while. Nice puzzle indeed. Solved a few days ago and found today. The log book was very damp so I signed and added some dry paper. TFTC, Biggles.
My sister and +Mum both had an appointment in ChCh today so we did a daytrip. On the way home we stopped to check on this one after seeing the state of GZ as we passed earlier in the day. The cache is fine but had abit of water in the container. Thankfully the bag was sealed and the logbook is still perfectly dry. All good to go here. Happy caching
Solved (with a little help from the owner) for the Nice MOM !
Thanks for the Nice mystery.
Hope I will have the opportunity to log some day

#14113. It was appropriate that the first find of our trip to G+M land was of a G+M cache. I was a bit late getting to GZ (needed to find the hand-wiping rag) and by the time I got there Troodles was signing the log. TFTC.
This was the first find of the day for StreetWalker and me en route to the West Coast for Queens Birthday weekend to escape the drizzle of Christchurch. By now the rain had stopped but it was a bit wet underfoot in the long grass.
Cache was an instant find for me while SW fluffed around with his GPSr. A most apt final location and a cute wee container. An enjoyable cache all round, thanks Gracie and Mum.

This had been a day in the planning, and a day to look forward to for quite a while!! I took the day off motherhood, left the baby girl with daddy, and headed out to go find some caches - heaps & heaps of caches! - with my mum. Trying to get closer to knocking out as many of those within 80km of home as possible. Not too bad, as I think we found 51 in the end! Well, 51 for me, and a few less for mum. Plus the weather mostly held out!
TFTC!!

A good sign of addiction - leaving the grandchild behind while going caching with your adult daughter! We finally found a day we could both get away, and we headed off into the wild to find some! Great day, even though the weather was a little suboptimal. Lots of fun, TFTC!!!
Nice GZ! gets a fp for that. Cheers.
What to do, what to do, great weather, a Saturday, and a possible FTF? Lets go to Castle Hill!
Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.
