Took a little while but found it eventually. Lots of muggles and harder to put back than get out. TFTC
TFTC smile20592 Out and about on a Sunny day grabing a cache to try and keep a challenge going signed as GS1947 on small logs With geofriends Thank you WallabyWanderers for placing this cache for our enjoyment
As mentioned by previous finders the tether is broken so after signing the log I needed to wedge the cache in place. I hope it is secure enough. TFTC
Out for an afternoon of caching the Maleny area. There have been a few in this area that remain to be found, and a few more that I have DNF'd but have been recently found. All in all it was a great session on the Range. At last I can claim a find here today! After completing a few in town I decided to drive by here to see how busy it was. Was expecting there to be a full carpark but when I drove past, not a single soul! I excitedly pulled into the carpark and commenced my search unimpeded. After a few minutes a stray glance caught sight of the little blighter and I brought it down, but that was too easy? After signing in underneath the 6 or so visitors who used their real names yesterday, and waiting for a singular muggle to come and go, I was able to find where the cache originally attached. Afraid of it getting muggled in the place I found it, I rehid it much closer to the tether, carefully wedged in place. Thanks for the cache with a magical view WallabyWanderers!
We swung by the lookout on the weekend as wed not actually stopped here before. On arrival we immediately recognised the location as the house directly next door was a prize home wed bought tickets in just a few years earlier. We must have just been lucky that we had the place to ourselves as it sounds like its a very popular spot. And of course - how could it not be with *those* views. It gave us free reign to hunt around for the cache. Once the gps settled it was a quick find. It sure the container is where it is intended to be though, as it was very obvious and accessible. I suspect it is meant to be tethered in some way by the piece attached to the bison (see previous finders pic). Either way, our name is in the log and we replaced as found.
Found 8/3/24 but forgot to log find. Went back but the clips broken and needs attention TFTC
A stunningly clear day to take in the view then a clear run at the hide as all the muggles left at the same time. A quick find was made. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
Not a DNF, but a did not even get to have a good look. In about 30-40 minutes of waiting at the tables, I only got about 2 minutes of muggle-free search time. They were departing and arriving at just the right intervals. When one group stopped to have morning tea, I called it for the day.
Day 29 of our roadtrip in Australia. Staying in Maleny with friends and this is an incredible lookout they recommended to us. Great views! Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo
Went out on the road to get a better GPS signal them walked walked straight forwards for the win and for the find
Spent the morning at bird world with the kids and stopped by for a quick cache on the way back. The views did not disappoint- what a beautiful spot!TFTC
I searched in all the spots where I would hide a cache, but no luck. Still, some amazing views here today, I could see the Brisbane CBD! The occasional convoy of tourists would agree.
Was travelling through and thought I would show the kid the mountains lol was in the clouds.. bummer
Tried to check on this one twice today but with school holidays and a crystal clear view of Brisbane, it was muggle central. It does sound like it is gone. Will leave it active just in case and will endeavour to check again soon.
Hi, we found this cache ages ago and where just here for a picnic and looked for this cache again, we found a zip tie but no cache. We could be wrong.
Visiting from Uk for a wedding and the day after we drove past here on our way to next destination - glorious views. Just getting around to logging now. Was a stunner of a day TFTC
My father used to live in Mulaney. So Ive tried to find this one a couple of times. Im here today for his memorial, and thought Id give this one another try. But there were just too many people in the lookout area for me to give it an honest try. But the views as always for music. Thanks for bringing me back
DNF here today, very overcast so light is an issue… plus from previous logs, my small height might be an issue too.
Out for a solo adventure today, so I’ll be back with the family… and tall teenagers another time.

Hubby and I are staying at Maleny Showgrounds. This cache is a easy one to find. But difficult to open up. Tftc
Taking our mum out for Mother's Day and her birthday for High Tea nearby, I arrived a little bit early and managed to find a quick few minutes to stop here, enjoy the scenery with my sister and grab the cache. TFTC in such a beautiful place.
Nice little find find I walked past it twice, the tallest in my group found it but the shortest can too if you have somewhere to stand.
TFTC!

Found after much searching... hint is sort of correct...after finding it, we found one angle from which you can see it. Tallest in the group found it. A fav. Logged Darwould. TFTC Darwould & Plus Elle from Calgary, Alberta.
Spent the day in the Glasshouse Mountains exploring and finding a few caches.
What an amazing view from here!
Cheers

Didn’t sign as too tiny to return with big fingers. Great hide, lots of muggles about
Finally found the little fella, it's taken a number of tries but eventually with the help of my son and his mate we found the little fella. Feel kinda silly not getting it sooner.

WallabyWanderers I found your cache McCarthys Lookout the 2nd on 24/8/2022, 3:55 pm. This is my find 4000 and find # 5 today. No one around for a good search. Noticed something there, yep it’s the cache. Have a favourite from me for just putting a nano in a popular lookout. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Took a long time and recruited som locals to have a peak around and after almost giving we found the very TINY container!
After attending the event on the water, it was out to find some caches in the area.

Today, the plan was a kayak paddle on Lake Baroon to attend the *Leisurely Obi Obi Paddle* event. The weather turned out great (quite eerie in the morning), and we had a friendly group of 15 kayakers who paddled Lake Baroon and down Obi Obi Creek.
Following the event/paddle, I took a walk around Maleny before grabbing lunch at its award-winning bakery. I then spent the last few hours of my afternoon visiting a few oldies in the area and darting around a few lookout spots, before then returning home via Mount Mellum, Skippy Park, and Beerwah where I completed the *Beerwah.* Adventure Lab.
What magnificent views here! I was happy to make a spot and take a few photographs of the surroundings, before then focusing back on this cache. I think I was here for about 15-20 minutes searching around, looking in all sorts of spots for an evil-sized cache, and various nooks and crannies! Several times, I was close to giving up, when I thought I would have one last look (those famous words!). Well, on one of those last looks, I eventually caught sight of this little blighter. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I definitely think this cache is higher than just a 2.0 Difficulty, and perhaps moreso in the 3.0-3.5 range given its current position. Thanks WallabyWanderers for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

After a paddle event concluded we went for some caches and challenges. With hatzofff and imbunda.
This one really took quite a while to find. Sneaky little b.....! A PAF eventually sorted it out.
Log signed and cache replaced as found on July 17, 2022. TFTC, WallabyWanderers.

After the Obi Obi Paddle Event was over Hatsoff, RoddyC and I headed off to make the best of our day picking up a few more caches. Parked veey close to GZ and it still took us a long long time to find. We even made a PAF before the elusive little cache was brought to light. Log signed before replacing as found. Beautiful views from this Rotunda. TFTC
Early trip up from the Gold Coast to meet up with geo friends nikid1, chamad, Peppa, Willis007 and kolour to head off to our main target cache of the day (A Good Egg).
After spending several hours in the Conondale National Park and finding a handfull of caches that we all needed, we decided to pick up a couple of extras on our way home.
This was a beautiful place to stop although full of muggles, we still managed to get the job at hand done without any dramas. The hide itself was very tricky and Willis007 was first to spy the prize.

In the area with caching friends Nikid1, Kolour, Snickersallen, Peppa and chamad.
Arriving at gz, there was a friendly looking bunch of muggles. We decided to tell them what we were doing and asked if they minded if we took over the space for a few minutes. I think we were doing more talking than finding, but the sneaky little blighter was eventually spotted. A jnr muggle helped us get the log out. Log signed, all replaced as found.

Today was a Phonenix day, after the plans for a particular walk were postponed and people scrambled to make further plans. This small fun group raised from the ashes and decided to head north and grab a Good Egg. After a little organising, we had a meeting spot and now a car or two for the drive up. We grabbed a couple of quick caches along the way before getting to our meeting spot. As with all good plans, they are “STC - Subject To Change”. The day was fun and full of laughs and quality caches. Would do this again, great day out, thanks all.
After our walk, it was onto a few caches that we passed on the way in. Working our way home and around the area, we came across this one. OH MY! We saw a family sitting where we were about to descend. Well there is no polite way to deal with six people searching while others are watching so I decided to explain while our group searched. I think it was interest and laughter as they watched as all search around. It was then Willis007 who made the find. A very well secured cache and very nicely tucked away. We now have some new cache guardians.
Log signed and replaced, a favourite point here for the hide and the view.

I was very happy to be invited along to a group caching adventure in the Sunshine Coast hinterland with Chamad, Willis007, Peppa, nikid1 and snickersallan. A total of 22 caches for me.
After our finds in the Conondales, we headed back towards Maleny finding some caches along the way. I had previously had a DNF here but with a group assault and explaining to the family enjoying the sunset what we were doing, Willis007 spotted the sneaky nano. Being taller helps here. Such a lovely view and you can see why it is so popular. Tftc

Out for a day of caching in the great company of SnickersAllen, Peppa, Willis007, Chamad and Kolour. There was a few targeted caches and some others grabbed along the way.
This one was found nearing the end of our day.
My goodness what an absolutely fabulous view. So great that there was a family of muggles set up to watch the sunset. Chamad explained geocaching while we walked around in circles searching high and low. Eventually Willis007 made the find. The muggle’s young newphew unscrewed the cache. Maybe we have some new recruits
TFTC WallabyWanderers a FP for sure for that view!

It’s a group assault on Booloumba Creek that has seen a keen and enthusiastic team assemble at 6:30am (that’s the pre-dawn 6:30) in Carseldine to make our way North…
The team is nikid1, snickersallan, kolour, Willis007, chamad and I… so with a plan to visit A Good Egg, (excellent suggestion nikid1) first we drove, well I didn’t, I just talked, for a couple of hours through the mist/fog…
You can have the best plan, well thought out, constructed and mapped… but get enough cachers together and it’s lucky to last an hour… today was no exception…
Having successfully dealt with our target caches we’re heading east-ish finding whatever the group might need…
A previous DNF here by kolour had this as our next stop… there was zero chance to search here as the shelter was occupied… chamad though didn’t seems to think that a problem and introduced the entire family (one claimed prior knowledge ) to caching…
I talked to the family while the others stole their food, wait, that’s not right… while the others searched… and it was Willis007 who came up trumps…
A lovely location, glad this was added to the itinerary…

On my way from Canberra to North Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
Accidentally came back here and had a better opportunity to get it. Sneaky blighter. Muggles guessed what I was doing, so that made for a good chat.

Waiting for our Thai from the nearby restraint we decided to do a spot of caching - it was quite at GZ and fortunately we were able to make a quick spot of the cache. Even with only one other tourist around extreme stealth was indeed required!! After a few photos and a bit of a stretch the log was duly signed. All is good with the hide TFTC

Searched for awhile for this one in between muggle visits. About to leave when Geohubby spied something . Hint doesn’t help and is a nano not small size now. Tftc
The first time we came here there were muggles watching the sunset. Came back today and there was lots of wind so no muggles to disturb us. Looked for a long time before finally finding the sneaky little cache. The clue was a bit deceptive. TFTC!
Visiting Maleny area today and stopped by here. There was a family having a picnic in the shelter shed so we hung around for a while. They eventually left when the lawn mowing men arrived and the noise drove them off which gave us a good chance to have a good look and feel around the shelter but didn’t come up with anything. Maybe it’s been muggled or were we just cache blind! Thanks for showing us this great lookout.
Tricky hide. No muggles about which helped. Sorry didn’t sigh as it was lashing rain.

Again out in the open amongst some cigarette butts and bottle caps. But fit comfortably back into a nice little gap just the right size.

I decided to take the geomonsters up to Maleny for a wander around and an ice cream (or two). It was a beautiful day and the view from McCarthys Lookout was (as always) spectacular.
This was a nice quick find whilst there was no one around.
Thanks!!

Partner and I decided to go to the Maleny Botanical Gardens and Aviary for a few hours, which was a great experience.
On the way back to our accommodation we stopped off at this lookout to take in the views and grab a quick cache. As soon as I had it in hand a few cars rocked up, so placing the cache back was difficult and I may have been spotted.
