12:32FITW ObnoxiousSpaceCatNot 2L bucket anymore, definitely. But today I learned you can get chewable apple cider vinegar! #TILKia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, BrownscacheDiversBCD!#11359
Out for a bike ride. Short ride, cache, then off again. Parked at the river and rode until decided it was lunch time and that was turnaround time.
Today I drove from Dunsandel to Geraldine on a bit of a road trip south to visit a friend. I stopped here to see how many of these caches I could get to and find on foot in the time I allowed myself. The weather was perfect for the walk and I managed to find most of the caches I looked for without too much difficulty. Apologies for the cut and paste logs but if anything stood out for a particular cache, I'll try to remember it here. This one took longer to find than it should have done. GPS seemed to have me on the wrong side of the track. TFTC, Biggles.
Enjoying a sunny Saturday afternoon out e-caching. Not a quick find GPS sent us in opposite direction. Didn't give up. TFTC
Signal is all over the place. Not sure why, since I'd downloaded data to my cell phone. Hope it gets better as we head south.
My third DNF of the day with NZDi. On reflection, I think we had a preconceived idea that we were not going to find this one due to the previous DNF. Although a 2 litre bucket should have stood out quite clearly.
We are walking the cycle track from Burdon Road to the Orari River bridge picking up caches along the way. We won't get all the caches I'm sure and will log DNFs as they occur. That won't be to say that they are missing, just hat after a reasonable search, we could not find them. I will try to make relevant comment on each find, but this is a power trail after all and when doing these, one find blends into another, so apologies for the cut and paste format of my logs.
It is Easter weekend and it is time to cross off one of the things on our bucket list, which is to visit the Peel Forest area. We headed south from Blenheim on Thursday and overnighted in Rangiora in order to break up the trip. That was an uninspiring place to cache with a miserable strike rate. We then travelled t the Peel Forest DOC camp yesterday and did the Kahikatea Walk and Fern Tracks. Today's mission is to walk the Orari River Cycle Track from Burdon Road to the Orari River Bridge. Tomorrow we will do the track from the bridge to Taylor Road.
Our logs are in full where space allows, but when an abridged version is required we shorten it to KM + ND for Kiwimykl and NZDi.

School holidays and a lovely warm (albeit a bit too muggy) i decided to drag the child and dogs out for a walk somewhere new. We have previously biked the track further downstream with plenty of cache success. This was tricky due to the container in the description being a lot smaller in the wild than my memory serves
This was an interesting bike ride, with the autumn leaves covering the track much of the time, making it harder to know what's underneath.
But it's a beautiful day today, and with it being a weekday, there was no muggles around.
Thanks for putting this trail here.

Walking the Orari Riverside track between Orari Bridge and Burdon's Road collecting caches along the way; TFTC
GPS on my phone played up a bit and found cache at the third tree that I looked at
We had real problems with this one until we finally widened our search as Juju54 suggested and there it was.
Bit of a search for this one - eureka there it was - found with Juju54 - TFTC
This one took a bit of searching as hadn’t been found for a while & we were looking for the 2L container! Eventually found after widening our searching & maybe a smaller container? Yes- Campmotherandken made the find. TFTC
This was the only we couldn’t find today. Even with the owner maintenance note. Will try another time.
buried under flood debris ..place new cache on the other side of the track..
Had to search away from where GZ was saying after I read some logs. Tftc
Great weekend caching with Hinemoana. We waited for the rain to stop, but quite wet underfoot.
A crazy caching weekend with KiwiGS! We picked this area because on the map it looked like a lot of easy caches. After lunch we went for the trail, and although it was not really 'mountain', it was rather overgrown and not maintained in many places, not quite the easy stroll we expected from the cache ratings and the online info about the trail, and we did not quite get as far with it as expected. We managed two of the three 'legs'.
The coords were out by about 29m for us, and we only found it after reading the logs. TFTC!!

Time for a bike ride today so we started at the Burdon Rd end of the track and headed off to see what we could get done. A nice quick find here. tftc
GPS said west. Intuition said east. Intuition won! Several areas searched but eventually found. A bit damp but bag unsealed by last finder.
You definitely have to go down, and ignore the direction of your compass! Careful looking then exposed the container. TFTC
#16751. This one took a while, but searching was a good excuse to linger in the shade for a bit. TFTC.
After a cup of coffee, and buying some lunch supplies, it was time to check out of our accommodation and continue the GMTB series north of the Orari bridge. Track ranged from an easy and pleasant ride on pine needles through trees to some pretty rough terrain, where both my hands were needed on the handlebars to control the bike (which made navigating a bit tricky).
This one took a while as we foolishly searched where the GPSr was pointing. After reading past logs, we realised we needed to be on the other side of the trail, where SW found the nice big cache. TFTC.

This one nearly had us fooled, as we went up hill and we really needed to go well down the hill. Nice to have a tasty container though. Thanks.
Frantic, caching, race. But this GZ said "Nope", took a few minutes to find, found some sparkly flag stickers outside the cache and put em back in.
Made use of the day off for a days caching around Orari and Geraldine. Started off in a light drizzle and headed North west with the plan of biking to Burdons Rd (The exercise), and cache on the return (the fun). Track was a bit hard going in places due to the loose gravel and was pretty stuffed b the time Burdons Road was reached. Sorry about the cut and paste but thanks for the series.

Phase one of the cycle leg of the caching trip to South Canterbury. Starting at Burdon Rd down the trail to the river and then bike back up Tripp Settlement Rd. Lovely day and really nice place to spend it - lots of cool caches too. Thanks.
Great day out caching in the area, lot of neat caches, and lots of walking. Many Thanks Bitsprayer
Out on this section of the trail this morning with Bitsprayer. Searched and searched where the GPS indicated without success. Crossed to the our side of the track and after some bush bashing cache soon located and signed. TFTC
Day 10 - of our (The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara, & myself) epic adventure - leaving Geraldine for Hanmer today, heading homewards. With 3/4 of the Geraldine cycle trail completed yesterday, we just cant leave without completing it. So lets get going - back on Jill today.
Allsorts it is and added to the menagerie. Cheers

I was wondering what the cache title was about! Gets an emerald and a path tasg.
Taybeedragon and I are cycling the trail and enjoying every minute of it. The weather gods turned on a nice day - an excellent day prior to the rigours of heading home after a week's geofesting in Oamaru.

looked both sides and at the base of a whole heap of trees had to dnf this one my first today
replaced log and dropped of tb ... please close the lid properly !!!!!
This cache needs a replacement (at least the log-sheet). Found this with the help of WEKA's log but unfortunately, the lid of the bucket was off so water was everywhere (including the logsheet). Hard to write our name in it. Emptied the container and put the lid back.
Decided to have a day out. Found we are spoilt by the tracks for the A2O, my poor old bike is not designed for these looser rougher tracks, but we persevered and managed this top bit of the route. Weather ideal, not too hot and no wind. TFTC
Back in Geraldine to some more of the GMBT caches. I was about to give up but before I did so I decided to read the logs. Tried WEKA's coords and method. Bingo. Cunning hide. TFTC
Another quick find on the trail, Cheers
A leave pass from Ms KR and Ms KM. Where do we go? Packed up bikes and bike >40k on the GMBT. Slightly stuffed at the end, but found most that we looked for, and a had a great day.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

The leave passes for Karma Reprint and myself matched up, so onto our bikes to attempt to clean up the series in one day. 42km and 12ish hours later it's mostly done. First leg is the northern section in the drizzle. Cheers
The coordinates had us on the wrong side of the track, but the cache description pointed us to the right location, with a geotrail into where the cache was soon found. Our coordinates were S44 01.029 E171 15.071. TFTC
Headed out with TG for a Mad Mission, was in need of an adventure. We had planned to head out this way to score some possible FTFs as there were nine still unlogged. We loaded up the bikes and headed into the setting sun on this lovely summer's evening. It took us an hour and forty odd mins to get to Burdon Road. We thought we'd check to see if the FTF was still available at the first one on the track. We were gutted that it had been found two days ago! We thought we get a lay of the land at the nearby cache on the riverbed. We were scored a FTF there! So we parked back up at the MTB track and proceeded down the river. We scored 16 caches and a handful of FTFs to boot. We biked 8kms or so and drove 305kms and got home at 12.30am. Great fun!
TG went down to the grotto and said there weren't any paths, I fell in after him. We searched a bit around the other trees and then I went back into the grotto and came up with the goods. Yay another {FTF}. Loving it.
Thanks for the cache BrownscacheDiversBCD.

**FTF** with TheWanglers
Mad Monday Night Mission with TheWanglers. Earlier in the day we noticed that there were still 9 unlogged caches on this end of the trail.......what better destination we asked ourselves?! Loaded up bikes & lights and headed off into the evening. A fun night; 305km driven, 8km biked, a handful of caches including 4 FTFs. NICE!
Following these caches in reverse order hoping for a few FTFS on some as yet unlogged ones....hmmmm...searched searched....slid down & into where I thought GZ would be...but didn't look hard enough & didn't find anything so I circled out and about...and TW fell in & searched and came up with the cache, and another FTF. Sweet. That makes the trip worthwhile! We set a timecutoff & decided only a few more before turning back to the car & heading for home. Cheers for a fun series...we'll be back!
