I had some time between dropping off hubby at the airport and the event at Chermside West. Wanting a multi, I chose this one. Being a quiet Sunday morning, I found a park up the road and made my way to gz. Interesting information boards - I found all of the information and got the green light, then walked to gz where the cache was quickly found. Logbook signed and replaced as found. Tftc

In honor of my Grandpa, who fought in both WW1 & WW2, I had to do this cache. Answers located - Cache found & signed. And all without disturbing the guy sleeping on the bench at the 7th Brigade Park! TFTC!

While the car was getting a service, I collected smiley faces in the area. Certainly got the step count up today.I found your cache, Downfall'n - The 7th Brigade today. This is my 3079 find.Mr Jaiger, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF

12-Feb-24
Mr Jaiger I found your cache Downfall'n - The 7th Brigade on 12/2/2024, 9:55am. This is my find 6386 and find # 2 today. 2nd attempt after my DNF last year. Searched again but this time widened my search area. Soon heard the familiar sound after poking around with my hiking pole. Approximately 8 meters from the path, there is one photo that does help. Logbook soaked, placed a piece of paper in a snap lock bag to sign. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

12-Jan-24
I decided to get about out for a bit and tackle this cache.I arrived at the first waypoint to find evidence of someone living there. A nice new pillow.. blankets.. groceries. But no one to be spotted. I decided to take photos of the information boards and move away from GZ. This ended up being a good plan - as the owner of the items returned shortly after. It took me about 20 minutes of hunting through my photos before I had all the correct answers. Searching at GZ was another 10 minutes or so before I spotted the prize. I must have inadvertently exposed it in my search. I signed the log and returned the cache to its home.A good little spot for a multi and its always good to learn about some local history. TFTC Mr Jaiger Smile

07-Jan-24
We solved the puzzle and got the right coordinates, but after a good search of the GZ we couldn't find the cache. Will try again another time. Thanks for the interesting history lesson!

05-Jan-24
Second attempt in 12 months. iphone coordinates didnt help, but Garmin was super accurate. Got it this time. TFTC

10-Sep-23
We were well ahead of time for a nearby event, so we decided to get some more smileys in Brisbane.

We looked for the requested Infos and then for the cache which wouldn't mind a bit of TLC.

Mr Jaiger I didn’t find your cache Downfall'n - The 7th Brigade on 22/4/2023, 1:50 pm. Gathered all the required information and received the green tick from the geochecker. Nothing found at GZ except rubbish.

15-Apr-23
Great cache!

15-Jul-22
Spent quite a while gathering the info, got the green “success” tick, but sadly no success with finding the actual cache. Lots of rubbish at GZ, so a CITO activity would assist future searchers to avoid looking too conspicuous. No joy for me today.

08-Apr-22
Geochecker gave me the green tick but gz was overgrown. Couldn’t locate it today. TFTC

17-Feb-22
Found the coordinates easily and had the green tick from the geochecker. However once we arrived at GZ, the area was overgrown and bit reluctant to put our hands in after seeing the log with the snake! Maybe we’ll try next time after the gardeners visit the area.

29-Dec-21
We both love military history so this was a very interesting cache for us. We collected all the necessary numbers from the information boards and after a short stroll to the GZ, we spotted the cache, signed the log and we on our way again in no time. TNLNSL TFTC Smile

13-Nov-21
Quick read revealed the necessary details- went the harder way- cache before parkrun

12-Nov-21
I was visiting Brisbane attending an in service and enjoyed the short walk to the northern side of the Chermside Shopping Centre to read the information plaques.
Found the required information easily enough and confirmed that the coordinates were correct. Made the short walk to locate the cache and sign the log sheet.
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

26-Oct-21
Whilst visiting Chermside shopping centre on 2/10/2021, I ended up visiting this display area, and collected the answers/numbers required for GZ. After getting a set of coordinates that the GeoChecker liked, I decided to defer my find until another day, of which appeared to be today. I did really enjoy this multi-cache, and none of the questions/answers posed an issue.

This evening, I parked nearby, and took a short walk back, where the cache was found reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, although the logbook looks like it has had a rat gnawing at it, going by a few holes through it. Thanks Mr Jaiger for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

28-Sep-21
A quick multi & short walK to GZ. The logbook is dry & useable but has seen better days. Camo on the container is coming off so is extremely noticeable & could possibly be muggled TFTC

25-Jul-21
Tftc loved the history here. Nice park. Thank you for bringing me here.

11-Jul-21
We are out very early to pick up some caches before peole arrive to spend a day in the park. The needed information was gathered quickly and we learned a lot about The 7th Brigade. The cache was located, signed and hidden again. Thank you Mr Jaiger for placing this cache.

While visiting the nearby mega centre I thought I’d check out this cache... some the photos here were fascinating... it didn’t take long at all to calculate a final... thankfully it wasn’t a long walk in the drizzle...

Oh... and I’ve left my backpack and all my supplies in the car... this cache really could do with some TLC... Time permitting I may return with the required supplies... TFTC...

22-Mar-21
So in the time it took to complete my shopping and get back to the car, the heavens have opened up...

So back into the mega centre to park Renaldo... I’ve replaced the container, and although it’s not sistema, it should keep more water out and was the closest to “regular” that I had with me... I’ve also double bagged the log, added some silica to help with the damp and transferred the two pieces of swag across... I hope this meets with the CO’s approval...

Always enjoy reading about the history of the areas we visit and this was no exception. Found the cache unfortunately it’s both ends have large holes and really needs replacing. Something’s been into chew the logbook but it is still writable . TFTC

04-Mar-21
An interesting read here gathering the answers to lead us to GZ. We found the damaged cache container with a large hole. The log book is still OK to write in but it has been chewed. TFTC Mr Jaiger

28-Feb-21
TFTC! Mooo...

04-Feb-21
After making the required calculations at the first waypoint I headed off to GZ where the required GPS circling was completed I narrowed in on the cache. I looked right over it to start with but eventually made the find. Tftc Mr Jaiger

23-Jan-21
With the rest of the family away for the weekend I had the whole day free to myself. I don't often get a chance to cache over on the North side of town so today was the perfect opportunity to rectify this and pick up some solved puzzles and other caches in my to-do database.

Roadside parking was at a premium around the listed coordinates so I chose instead to park at the nearby Kidspace playground, where there were plenty of parks, and walk up to GZ. I was nearly at the starting point when I realised I had left my notepad back at the car. Fortuitously there was a bottle shop paper bag laying on the ground nearby - notebook and CITO all in one!

It took a little time to read all of the signs, one of which I had overlooked Wink, and obtain all the required information. Off to GZ for a short search which soon revealed the cache. The container has multiple holes gnawed through the bottom and the damp logbook has provided a meal for many an ant judging by the numerous holes chewed in the now swiss cheese pages. Found a spot to apply my stamp and replaced the cache in its hide. TFTC

03-Dec-20
Before heading across the road to do a bit of Christmas shopping we stopped in here.
It was interesting reading the info and finding the required answers.
Once done we found the cache after a short search.
The container has a hole in it and a couple of critters have enjoyed the log book as a tasty meal.
There was still enough there to sign our name in though.

Some interesting history to be perused here. I spent a good while reading the boards, only to make an error with one digit .I had the right clue - just used the wrong digit. Anyway that put the cache in a likely spot about 400 metres away, but thankfully I used the checker and realised my error.

Quickly fixed and at GZ, I searched for a while before I found the container in a not so obvious spot right next to a more obvious spot that I had been looking in. Coordinates were pretty good. Many thanks Mr Jaiger

Was doing some shopping with a friend and seen this was across from where we were having lunch haven’t had much luck with these types of cache this was a nice easy one even tho I may have walked passed it a few times

19-Jan-20
An interesting area to visit, I have learned a lot this morning.

After checking I had the correct numbers, I made my way to GZ and had some fun with bouncing on my phone. Consulted with Ms Garmin and very quickly had a spot. I had walked past it 2 or 3 times.

Thanks for the cache and the history lesson Mr Jaiger. As previously noted by others, the cache needs some attention.

31-Dec-19
Quick easy find. As others have said, the container has a few holes. Thanks for the cache

31-Dec-19
A nice hide

31-Dec-19
A quick find, collecting a few unclaimed multi-caches un the area. Container sadly needs attention but T4TC

05-Dec-19
Thanks for the puzzle and cache.

Unfortunatley the container is damaged with a few holes allowing water to get in. At the moment the log is dry but will get when it eventually rains.

16-Nov-19
Found it after some rethinking and number changing.
Cache is in bad condition water damage , ant infested and rat chewed container

Easy spot to find thanks. Coordinates lead us straight to it.

04-Nov-19
With rain and storms due this afternoon I thought It would be the perfect time to head out and collect a few caches before it arrives.

A nice easy find here today

22-Oct-19
Second find for the day with the geokids. We enjoyed the history lesson Smile TFTC

28-Jul-19
The numbers I collected easily enough, the boards were really interesting to me as my parents both grew up around this area.
The cache took me ages to find and I started to think I’d done something wrong when I finally spotted it!

03-Jun-19
On a multi mission today but daylight had abandoned me so I was doing "doable at night" caches. This was one of them and I snagged a carpark not too far away and had a look for the info required to do this one. There is another multi in the area that mentions some of the history that is on the info boards here. Went and sat on a seat to crunch the numbers and while I was busy I heard noises coming out of one of the bins. Once I'd put the new coords in I went to have a look to see what it was. Rather than possibly getting a face full of exiting possum or whatever, I snapped a remote pic with the phone and was surprised to see it was a rat in there having its dinner. Leaving it to dine in peace, I went on to the cache and after a bit of a hunt, found the container. It seems the rat had preceded me as the corner of the cache had been chewed off. The logbook was still there and signable so I added my name to it. Maybe an ammo can for this cache would be appropriate here, it would suit the size and theme of the cache and even the rat wouldn't be able to chew it!
TFTC Mr Jaiger

12-May-19
Lots of interesting info especially about Kittyhawk drive. Found the cache eventually. Not really hidden like a cache. We added a little trinket. Thanks for the local history lesson. Happy Mother’s Day.

14-Apr-19
Loved learning about the area. The cache is quite rat eatn and requires replacing before winter.

There is a man “living” near ground zero as pic

11-Apr-19
Some interesting history here, and I had to read carefully to get all the details.
At GZ the cache didn’t elude me for too long.
Thanks

04-Apr-19
Crawled around for about 15 minutes trying to find it haha. Good spot and great questions

30-Dec-18
I was out caching in the area with my youngest geodaughter today, before braving a trip to the nearby shopping establishment to look at the sales. We gathered the information we needed quickly and after arriving at gz had the cache in hand. Tftc Mr Jaiger Big Grin

On the hunt for Multies so went this way home and learnt so
Much about the area I grew up in that I had not been aware of before! Love a good historical cache!

19-Oct-18
We are out in this area today, and have been enjoying a really lovely leisurely stroll through the green Parkland, which truly is green at the moment after the recent rains. We loved to learn about the history of this area, and noticed how much it has grown.
We found a good set of numbers, and in a matter of minutes soon had the geocache container in our hands. The log is signed and perhaps we will take a break for a coffee inside the nearby shopping centre.
Thanks
Domsky

We are staying with omaster for a week and set ourselves a challenge of trying to get the nearby caches that have emerged since we moved down south. This is a park we know well from bike riding and orienteering. A well thought through and interesting multi. Learned a lot. Great to have a checker. Sensible location for the cache. Unfortunately an animal (possibly a possum) is having a great time chewing up the plastic container, the plastic bag and the log.
TFTC and a favourite from us.

17-Jul-18
Nice and quiet on the paths today, but I did scare a few walkers ambling about in the middle of the shared walkway. Seems you can't hear my bell if you are listening to music with earphones. No sympathy for those who were startled because of that.
Twisted

Not many people around at this one. Lots passing, but none stopping. I perused the boards and gathered the info required. Nice to see a checker to make sure it is right.[^] I have read some history of the park before, but I have never been to this spot. Lots of interesting facts here.

A short detour around to GZ on the bike. A very short hunt for the find. A favourite point for this one. Cool

13-Jul-18
Find #2146 at 21:48 with Palopinto. Our last for the night.

Got "B" wrong first (I must learn to read and not just make assumptions), and found ourselves in the middle of an open patch with nothing within 10m of us. Revisited the clues, found our (my) error, and soon had a better set of coords.

The cache then didn't take too much to find, but as previous finders have mentioned, someone's been munching on it -- as well as the log baggie. We didn't have any supplies to improve matters on us, unfortunately.

Took geocoin before it could fall out through the broken container. Second geocoin listed is not present.

Thanks for the cache and the research assignment, Mr Jaiger.

13-Jul-18
This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

29-Jun-18
An "interesting" encounter made this cache memorable for all the wrong reasons. I arrived at ground zero, collected the information I needed and worked out the final coordinates.

As I started walking down the path someone walked up behind me so I slowed down so they'd pass me. He slowed down too so I stopped and leant on the railing and looked at my phone. He stopped too and made some comment about the weather. He then walked closer to me, put down his knapsack and got out a can of Jim Beam. At this point I decided heading into the nearby bush definitely wasn't a good idea and headed towards the shopping centre instead, with him still trying to start a conversation as I was walking away.

Came back half an hour later and he was gone and I was able to retrieve the cache and add my name to the log.

I certainly won't forget this cache any time soon.

10-Jun-18
Our first multi! There was only a log book in there, so we added some prizes for the next person!

An interesting read while gathering the required information.
A nice quick find once I had reached GZ but unfortunately the cache is not holding up very well.
Large sections of the base of the container have been chewed away and the log is quite damp.
Needs some CO TLC.

This was the first cache this morning I tried to find, but no luck. Spent the rest of the morning logging 10 caches around the area and then decided to take one more look. That’s 11 caches before lunch. Not shabby if I do say. TFTC

25-Jan-18
Certainly the shortest walk for a multi - took me longer to gather the info from the many signs than to find the cache. Thanks for an interesting history lesson.
As stated the rats obviously like this cache - TFTC

07-Jan-18
After a nice lunch nearby, we moved the geomobile to the park and wandered down to the first WP of this cache. Geopartner had fun finding the info with me for the coordinates for the cache.
Once we had the coordinates, we wandered down to GZ where Geopartner quickly found the cache.
Signed the log and returned to the container. Everything is dry but something was very hungry and had a chew at the corners of the container.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Mr Jaiger Cool All good with this cache and multi
