We continued today our tour of several AUS states in the NorthWest and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to The Outback Way for the generation of this nice cache Winton Railway Station (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. Our prime purpose of coming to Winton this morning was to find one cache so that we could claim having found a cache in the Winton LGA. It was a long way to come from Longreach for just one cache, but it was good to visit a town that we had heard about but never visited before. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks The Outback Way for the cache. Mission accomplished. Now to have a look around the area before heading back to Longreach.
Found at 3:09 PM GAFF1.Arrived in Winton around lunchtime, headed over to the Long Waterhole camp; set up; had lunch and then off to do the AL and then to find this cache. We were last here 11 years ago and did a lot more touristy things then than this time as this time it is really hot and we are laying low - apart from the caching Thanks to generalmanager
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing a cache in Winton that we can use (smiley) as a souvenir of our visit.
Nice quick find on our way back to the caravan park after having dinner at the pub. TFTC
Hot day. Kangaroos watching while we had a lunch break NZers very wary wilh dry grass. Tftc
Had no ttrouble in locating this cache and initials were quickly added to the log before our journey continued. Thanks for placing this cache go to generalmanager.
Found while on a bucket list trip to the tip of- grabbing a few caches on the way home!! TFTC
A quick stop off in winton on our way to the cape from Albany. A quick find here for kiwinic and myself today. TFTC
Quick find thanks to the hint. This town has so much potential for more caches. TFTH
A nice easy find, thanks for the cache. A nice little diversion on the way out of town
Very interesting station and the kangaroo family were checking us out as well. The joey was cute.
Proof today that this line is still active. They were loading up a cattle carrier. About 25 wagons worth. A lot of hamburgers there. Interesting old train station. Thanks.
Out and Grannan55 and Geodogs exploring Winton. What an amazing place. Read the railway history on the information board. Fantastic. Thank you for placing this cache here for us to find. All good here. TNLN TFTC
Spending a few days in Winton, we enjoyed picking up a couple of caches in town. We always love a railway cache ! Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC!
Found during our stay in Winton. Messaged the CO to seek permission before replacing the cache. This is the only cache in Winton - as my family keep telling me - we need to move to Winton and increasing the amount of caches would be a good reason to move TFTC.
Found with Cosmonaut97 and Firebatman88, after Cosmonaut97 contacted the CO to ask permission to replace the cache
We searched a couple of times yesterday and after scrolling through the activity logs and seeing a photo or two of the actual cache, we can honestly say it is no longer in place! If it is there, it would seem it has crept a long way!
Velk cesta do Ocenie - den 28 - Mount Isa - Barcaldine, Queensland (750 km)Vera naveer jsem dojela do hornickho msteka Mount Isa, takov mini Ostravy, kter le opravdu v kopcch, a to skoro do posledn chvle nevypadalo. Dnes tedy m dal cesta vedla prvnch 150 km vysoinou, pak 100 km bu a dalch asi 400 km kolem nedozrnch pastvin dobytka. Prost dnes se den vydail a ztra m ek posledn dlouh pejezd na pobe a pak 3 noci na jednom mst, abych si trochu odfrkla.I spend all day on the Hwy from Mt. Isa to Barcaldine. I found some caches on the road, saw many monuments, hills and mesas. I try to find an only cache in McKinley and I got my car stuck in the mud. The local nice old men helped me and pulled the car out. The biggest surprise awaited me at the cache at the train station in Winton. I found the cache and suddenly I see a whole group of kangaroos coming from the station. I drive thousands of kilometers through the wilderness to see them, and they take the train ! Thanks for the cache and greetings from Czech republic.
Thanks Outback Way for placing and maintaining cache, easy find on our way through town.RVCL.

On a hot , blustery day we made it to Winton. For me it was my second visit, the first way before I started geocaching.it was a quick find among some scratchy hosts. Luckily no scratches drew blood. It would be nice to see more caches here.
Grub62 found this cache while I was looking in the wrong tree. A nice find while we are visiting Winton. TFTC.
bunadoorian and I arrived in Winton to have a small explore. We found this cache on our way into town. TFTC and for bringing us here The Outback Way.
Cool, I think we should add a couple more around such an awesome outback town
Heading to Cape York with Papi4506, Geoturtle37 & Team Crackers, after the QOGM in Longreach. This is one of the many caches that we found whilst in the area. The log was signed as PDGC, to save space, (Papi Drovers Geoturtle Crackers). Thanks to all the Co's for making this trip, more enjoyable. Signed and replaced as found.
Had an amazing time at the last QOGM event in Longreach. I feel honoured to be one of only a handful of cachers who has attended all five, although it does concern me that now I will have to plan my own September school holiday fun. This year I travelled up with Gcoven and we scooted along the bottom LGAs for her to collect and I was able to pick up the odd one here and there untilWe hit brand newies on offer in Longreach. During the course of the formal QOGM days we travelled and cached with chamad and Nathan & Alyce as part of our team signing under the collective name of Misfits. Along the way we had plenty of laughs and enjoyed hanging out with each other through the official social events and our own - generally at The Wellshot or at the Longreach Bakery. With the couple of quieter days on the agenda it allowed us time to get everything we wanted in town and even head further afield to Winton with feeling rushed at any point. It was great catching up with everyone some whom I had not seen since Barcaldine and of course the more regular cachers from home. Quite the turn out indeed. Thanks to the efforts of the QOGM team and Jimmy Project for helping to bring this all together.
Visiting Longreach for QOGM 2023. Caching with fellow cachers and signing as TADJR Stopped and found this cache. Signed log. TFTC
Attending QOGM and collecting a few cachers around the Longreach area and beyond - really seeing a variety of landscapes. Thanks to the COs for the placement of these cachers and showing us around the region.
Over from Otautahi Christchurch for this the last Outback Muster. Spent ages working out all the puzzles but I really enjoy jigidi ones. Shame I didnt find them as I didnt join in with someone with a spare seat for the day. Thanks to all the organisers for the hard work and effort in putting this and previous events together. Only sad thing is I could only get to Blackall before this one. Sorry this is cut and paste logging but I will add in a comment as required along the way. Ma te wa from me for the time being. Im sure we will meet again Loved the outback experiences going on while there.
Another day means another day on the road collecting caches. We teamed up with JACS Team, Chamad and Gcoven again for another eventful day on the road. This time it involved plenty of driving (Around 600+kms) We visited Winton, plus some and on the way back we finished off the loop and grabbed some other caches along the way. What a day, what an adventure.Logs signed as The Misfits. Thanks for bringing us here#3972 - TFTC
Today our team drove around town and collected a few more of the local caches before we went for a drive out to Winton. This then saw us take a drive to the next closest cache 88kms away, as you do. It was another fun day with a couple of traditionals, an adventure lab, an earth cache, an event and some others, lol.It was very much a long day of driving and covering over 650 ks for the day, but hey thats caching. Got to see some of the warm up activities at the Winton outback festival, thats going to get messy. We signed logs and replaced caches where found, thanks to the COs for the placements and keeping them going. What a great piece of history here, not sure how much activity this station gets but it was nice to stop by and have a look. thanks for the hint.
Arrived and did the ad lab too. Mummy kangaroo here with Joey on board. Big festival occurring so busy!
We're out for a pleasant late afternoon stroll after our day exploring the dinosaur museum. This was a pleasant distraction as we passed. Thanks for find #4826TNLN
