### Mount Peel Bushland ###We also made a stop here during our cacher tour. We parked the cachemobile at the car park, put on our hiking boots and packed our rucksack with water and food. Now we started our hike in Mount Peel Bushland. On the way we enjoyed the beautiful nature and the many beautiful caches. Thanks for the funTeam sissifalke
Travelled up to Clifton via West Haldon and from there, out towards Leyburn to do some tree fishing caches. Then I travelled north towards Toowoomba to finish off some outstanding caches at Mount Peel Bushland Park.Back to mop up the last of the Mount Peel Bushland Park caches. Tried to grab this one on the way up, but a muggle walking a dog appeared out of no where, so I kept walking. Nabbed it on my way down. TFTC. TNLN. SL. TBs Prado Owl ; The Great Leap Forward Geocoin ; Bee Croc ; Rawhide ; RobS72 2000 Finds GC ; Forest Hill Ear Tag ; Iceland Geocoin ; and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 2165.
It is a darling view. Great walk, dropping an FP for one of the best in a well set up reserve with a healthy supply of caches. TftC.
No luck for me here today. I looked in what I thought is to be every possible hidey hole without success. A D1 should not be that hard to find. Maybe another time.

Aghh Mt Peel, again we meet!! I think this is my third visit here with each time finding selected caches to help boosting our D/T loop at that time.
We have returned to collect a few lower D/T caches today which should help finish loops 23,24 & 25

After a huge day of caching, Muggle65 and l decided to finish the day with a quick run up Mt Peel. Cache found in good order. Thank you so much
This cache was on my ‘hit list’ for our quick 26 hour caching visit to Toowoomba. I needed the 1.0/3.0 to fill a gap for my second loop. I was very grateful for the excuse to look for a cache half way up this hill.
Nice also that we didn’t have to divert off the path. I was pretty worn out already, but with only 9 of our 18 caches done, there was more work to do. Lovely excuse to look around and enjoy the view from here too. TFTc

With a couple of geocaching event on the calendar in Toowoomba this weekend, Duppers and I decided to head on Friday. After a am knock off from work, I headed over and picked up my geocaching buddy. A quick stop for coffee and brunch, we were soon on our way to Toowoomba.
Peel mountain was our target area for the day.
After a bit of a climb, the cache was soon in hand.

Took a little while to find.

Visiting friends in Toowoomba, so decided to do a walk and geocaching here as I qualified for some of the challenge caches. Spent about 3 hrs finding 10 caches. Easiest find today, first to find the new logbook and it is in good condition. Tftc
This one has been buried again. I guess it is still here but now under many rocks. moved to top side of track now

Been here 4 times to find this one and still no luck, after many did not finds this year I feel it’s time to retire if the CO doesn’t check & confirm this is still in play.
This is the fourth time in 6 months I’ve gone looking for this one and still did not find, I feel it’s time to archive!
July is all about challenges thanks to the latest Georode Monthly Challenge in Brisbane… and Mt Peel is rich in unsigned challenges…
So I assembled a group of willing Brisbanites, and a plan was hatched for today…. A couple withdrew leaving just nikid1 and I to enjoy the glorious weather and environment up here on the range…
One of only 2 DNFs for us today, and the other was an archived cache that hadn’t been found for 6 years)
We spent awhile here… read the description, read the logs, consulted the pics, and then hunted far and wide… but still failed to find a container here…
Would however really like to know what “NBJA” stands for…

Headed out to Toowoomba for a day of caching with Peppa and this was our target area.
We spent a bit of time here but came out empty handed. I guess it means I’ll have to return one day.

I came here on 22/2/22 before an event nearby and searched. Then I searched some more. And then even more. I positioned myself all over this area and must’ve inspected every rock. I read all the logs and looked at all the photos so I’m pretty confident I was in the right spot. I now see a couple more DNF’s so I’m thinking it wasn’t just my heat exhaustion. I conceded to let it go on the day and gave up otherwise I would miss the event, which is what I had travelled all the way from the sunny coast for. NeverMind. You win some, you lose some ️.
During our trek up to this second peak in the Mt Peel Reserve we enjoyed a break and located this cache. The area was very overgrown and it did take a lot of searching before the cache was located. Thanks to Brahms6 for making the find.
Along our walk today in this area with Willis007, we made our way to GZ, and after some searching, with perhaps our coordinates a little wide, we made the find.
Nice one. Thanks MalDawg,

After having spent the last 2 days caching in, north and south of Oakey with a great caching crew, and having a 4 day weekend, it was an easy decision to make to stay an extra night in Toowoomba to cache through Mt Peel with Domsky.
After finding the nearby cache, we slid down the hill to make the find here. The views were definitely spectacular. After signing the log we continued our journey.
Thanks MalDawg for placing the cache here.

Forgot my writing stick. The last 2 had pencils, none here. My steep climb was up the other side. Tftc
Found this one on a late Sunday morning walk with my little darlings, everyone enjoyed our little trip to Mount Peel.

Out caching with the Tough Mothers (Bennyboppers and Lisylou). Took a while to find. TFTC!
Found with bennyboppers and mnance101 today. Nice day for a walk, beautiful view, bit of a tricky find at gz and need to watch your footing. Tftc
As is often the way, I had some trouble finding this d1 cache - high grass, and bad gps reception meant that I had to look in a reasonably large area. But it is a combination of d and t that I don't have many of.
Found it, but then we realised we dropped our pen somewhere. Had to come back and log it.
Grey nomads travelling around Australia in our caravan. Held up a bit due to Covid19, so currently in Queensland only, but there are plenty of caches in our home state that we have not yet found. Currently, doing a lap around South East Queensland, and we are house sitting nearby, so able to enjoy the festivities of the carnival of the flowers and other nearby features.
The tantalising Mt Peel greets us every time we step out of our caravan at the house sit, to today, with sandwiches made, we ventured into this park, after circumnavigating to get our bearings.
Quick find, great view. Thanks for the hide MalDawg

Today was the second day of my little journey to outback Queensland. While I’m not in a hurry, I do have a list of caches that I do want to collect along the way and probably some extras as I see fit. It won’t be hard to continue my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day challenges for the next few days, I am also hoping to pick up a few new challenges along the way and some target caches too.
My plans today were to walk the caches of Mt. Peel and then head west, plus grab a couple of extras as I passed by. A nice morning for a walk around Mt. Peel with a little water and a couple of snacks I was off to see Toowoomba from a different angle. An absolutely spectacular walk and the views from here, both hills were just awesome. In all it took just over 3 hours and I wasn’t racing to complete; I did all but two of the caches in this area. I do have some new lantana scratches from where I cleaned up some paths / trails as a memento.
All good with this cache and with it found and log signed I returned it as found, thanks for placing it here, now it’s time for a couple others in Toowoomba before heading west.

Hmmm down the gravel, just a little slippy, but we made it down and met a big family group on their way up. Cache found safe and sound and we continued the loop around.
Have never seriously tried to skateboard but the free wheeling down another loose gravel track would probably come close to the same experience. With a family group(s) coming up the slope, a wee kid exhibited no fear and a lot more confidence than I did. Wait til he's gained 5 times the body weight, 3 times the height and a bit of of understanding what pain means when you miscalculate a step and see if his confidence level diminishes.
Gingerly poked about the rock pile hoping no joe blakes were at home to ruin the day. All good at this spot, thanks for the invite to visit MalDawg.

A weekend in Toowoomba collecting some caches and views Thanks for placing this cache.
Having collected a select few caches here while in the area last time, we were back to get the rest. A great day for a walk. TFTC!
For our hike around Mt Peel I slugged on the backpack. I had the necessities in there like a first aid kid, swag and lube, but I had also packed a bit of water thinking we would need it.
It was so cold I don’t think we even got through half a bottle. There was no sweating or dehydration possible but I did wish that I had packed a cappuccino maker or heater.
It’s a great view to the south but I had so much room in my backpack I wished I had also packed a chainsaw to enhance the view further. tftc

dahumbug and I were walking around Mt Peel this morning collecting all the caches. It's a beautiful area here and we even came across a few kangaroos. Thanks for the cache
During my stay in australia, i want to see as much as i can. This area with the bushes, so dry its strange for me. Today it was more then 35 degree and windy. I have seen some kangurus and birds.

After spending several hours cruising around the SSE series of caches, I headed back towards Toowoomba. I still had time and some energy to find a few more caches before I headed back to my motel. I drove to the Mt Peel bushland reserve and had a nice walk around the area finding most of the caches that are placed there. Found this one on my way down from the summit. TFTC, Biggles.
We are on our war to Blackall, our 3rd stop on our trip is Toowoomba.
This morning Bill went with Roostaman to Mt. Peel to do some caches on their bikes. Roostaman also had a cache to revisit that he had left his stamp behind at a cache.
I did not go so I can only comment on what they told me. They were immpressed by the many large cache containers found here.
Thankyou for placing this cache MalDawg

Came up to Toowoomba for a few days while Richmond lad was house sitting for the week. We left this area for when the weather was a little dryer but still cool.
Nice quick find while out at Mt Peel - thanks malDawg.

Up in Toowoomba for 5 days to do a House Sit. Decided to do the caches around Mt Peel even though it was overcast weather. Decided to tackle the Challenge Caches, Multi Cache and Traditionals that I had not done around here - about 11 altogether. Followed tracks and went bush on occasions. Thank you to CO's for placing these caches in those locations. Found all caches and signed logs.
My favourite from us. Love to climb up the view was worth it thanks

A trip to Toowoomba for the GIFF event was extended into an overnight stay with 2 days of caching shoehorned in. Day 1- an early start, before heading to Toowoomba via Kilcoy, Esk and Crows Nest.
It was well and truly uphill travel by the time I reached this one. I noticed fresh tyre marks, would have been helpful if the council guy came along right about now, but alas no. Quick find close to the track, and a few happy snaps, a gulp of water and some cool breeze before continuing up.

This find makes smilie # 5,728. TFTC **MalDawg**, discover our trackable and mention this cache

Thursday. Out in the Mt Peel area today to collect some caches with Raynersinoz and BarbBowman. A lovely view to be sure from this cache. This whole area has amazing views which did give a magnificent vista to some rather brown looking landscape! I loved looking all around here nonetheless and look forward to returning one day to witness this whole area when it is green and lush! Container and log are in excellent condition here.
This was the 6th of 16 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***MalDawg***, for showing us this place.

Life has gotten in the way recently and caching outings have been scarce. To gather up the souvenirs on offer at the moment, some numbers were needed and the Star Ship Enterprise Series, which has been on the Bromance radar for a while, seemed perfect.
SeffnJarah, Swellerfungus, KeepingUpWith and 1 managed to complete the SSE series earlier than expected, and decided a few extra caches were in order before heading home to fulfill some family commitments. A quick circuit around Mt Peel collecting caches gave us the opportunity to stretch the legs after a day in the car.
Arrived at GZ just as some muggles came wandering down the hill. I managed to take a seat right on top of the cache and sign our names in the log, with the muggles none the wiser, whilst catching my breath at the same time.
Thanks for the cache, MalDawg .

After zapping around the Starship Enterprise universe at the speed of light all morning, Crookedpete, Swellerfungus, Keepingupwith and I decided to return to our home planet and stretch our legs and get the blood circulating with a walk around the countryside, and with the added bonus of some caches to add to our collections.
Unexpectedly we encountered some muggles just as we arrived at GZ so we had to wait patiently for them to make their way down the track before attending to the retrieval and signing duties. TFTC

Oh I went from the bottom road up through the bush...The hard way!!! Container has a crack in the bottom but with all this dry weather I don't think that's an issue at the moment...no trackable but a great day out in the bush!
Already the great views can be seen and already we've found what a steep little hill this is ......and we have the sneaking feeling the next bit is even steeper.
