Find # 1265831/8/2024 After attending the climbing event, it was time to head to collect a few TE caches around the area in the company of Joolay and KittyKatch Only one DNF in the middle of the river despite three pairs of keen eyes. Oh well, the rock hopping was fun!Later in the afternoon I headed off in a solo adventure to find even more TEs that the others had already found. A mixture of and made for a successful afternoon. Glad to get my tally of Tankengine caches up a little! Thanks Tankengine for Rabbit's Retreat

Massive caching days continue. My online logs do not match with days found simply because I cant keep up with online logging sorry. My alliance of 5 all from WA are three young fit boys and two less young ladies who try to keep them honest. We have been up trees and ladders way more than I like and, like all geocachers who insist on wearing shorts in hot weather, our legs are ripped to shreds from hiking. Logging WAC since the three boys usually cache with a fourth called the Cockburn Crew based on their LGA. Having an almost totally cleared map locally, its difficult to explain the excitement of having a map that has caches literally everywhere. Ive cached in Canberra once with my partner and also at the Queanbayen mega but theres still so many to find. Long days and during the few hours allocated to sleep Im so sore I barely sleep anyway. Thanks so much for your contribution to making the days so exhausting and enjoyable. Much appreciated!

The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 2 and we had an absolute blast. After being up late last night we backed it up again this morning with an early start to make the most of the cooler weather and lack of muggles in the morning cold. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed the large number of virtuals, and caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some of the oldest caches in Australia, some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WAC (WA Crew)

Out and about again, headed around Canberra for the MEGA. Super excited my first MEGA and heading over with 2 others from the Cockburn Crew - signed log as WAC to save time. This is 14499, hoping to clock over the 15,000 finds in the week in New South Wales and ACT.Thanks to Tankengine for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Tankengine! Big GrinJoin us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

Plans for the day had been caboshed due to inclement weather but then it turned out nice enough to be outdoors, so I thought I would get in a caching wander around the Arboretum whilst it was nice. Then it stayed nice and as I was looking for a way to get out of what I *should* have been doing I continued on to some further caches around the Aranda Grassy Woodland reserve. Most found easily.

Found it yay thanks creator onto the next one

We found the rabbit hutch in this beautiful grassy field and lovely Woodland.
A great view up to Black Mountain Tower from GZ, and, after signing the log, we continued our walk around Aranda bushland.
A beautiful location to visit, and lovely to have the opportunity to be out in the sunshine today.
Thanks Tankengine

Find#4158
Nice hiding place
Thanks for the cache

05-Mar-23
Lots of roos (and associated droppings) about. Spotted what we thought was the hutch from afar but it turns out our assumptions were erroneously false. Renavigated to GZ and a quick find from there.

Seemed to be standing under a lone rain cloud whilst we made the find. Bizarre. Cheers Tankengine.

We didn't see any rabbits but we saw a giant hare. I think that it would be a brave fox to take it on!

Anyway, as we approached the GZ my non-caching-geowife said "Even I can see that one!".

It was a good one to have as the last of our little caching run today.

First time I've opened a cache to see someone else was here on the same Day! Wonder how far apart we were.

25-Aug-21
Oh my goodness Tankengine.. you and your crazy stories!!!!!

This was my first time walking out in this area, and whilst I didn’t see any rabbits.. or foxes.. I was greeted by very slushy trails and loads of curious kangaroos. It’s similar, right? Guess I’ll have to come back and check it out a little in the dry season.

Thanks for the excuse to explore another interesting place in Canberra, particularly as our chances to get out and about a pretty limited at the moment. TFTC

23-Jul-20
Decided to use this foggy, cool morning to grab all the caches around the Snow Gum area and the western, lower sections of Black Mountain. It was a beautiful, easy stroll from the sty across the grass and to GZ; had to jump across one creek but all worked like clockwork. An immediate find at GZ - the two TE caches I found today in this area are probably the easiest TE caches I've ever found, I think! TFTC!

22-Jul-20
Having picked up a couple of caches in Aranda on the way, this was my first in the actual reserve. I had just worked out the coordinates for the Poo Pipe (amazingly the checksum liked my number) and realised I could pick up a few more before heading to that GZ. TFTC TE
