I needed 2 more difficult climb caches to finish off a challenge and seeing 2 close together on the Goat Track, I headed out there today to have a look. I should have checked the status of the road before I went because I knew that it is often closed. So I was not surprised, although a bit disappointed, to find that it was in fact closed today. After running up the hill at the bottom, I made the long way around via the main road to the top of the track. I then descended the rocky path, following the trickle of water down to GZ. What a beautiful spot this is, right beside the road here. Once down I looked around in several places and thought about where a large cache could be hidden above the potential water line. I saw a likely spot and headed up. I searched in and around the area and found nothing. With no reception here, I was cursing my foolishness in not downloading the cache info so I could read a few past logs. I swung around the thick vines and navigated my way across to check another spot but still no success. Eventually I headed back down towards the creek and as I did so I got myself into a good angle and finally saw the container. It was great to find a second unloved cache today (491 days unloved). The container was covered in soil but in good condition, as you would expect. The plastic bag has unfortunately split and the logbook was a little damp and musty. I signed the logbook and wrapped it back up before returning the cache to it's hiding place. Thanks Slow Puncture for the fun adventure getting here and for the fantastic cache! Have another FP from me.

Slow Puncture (LJCC) I found your cache Water Of Love on 27/6/2023, 11:05 am. This is my find 5703 and find # 5 today. No construction workers and a fine and sunny day. Made my way down slowly from the suggested trailhead. Arrived near GZ and after reading some previous posts made my way to GZ. Was about to go further up until I spied the container. Signed and returned and made my way back to the ute. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

Saturday caching plans made with Kolour and chamad, after the event we planned on visiting the Goat Track and a few other caches in the area.
What an amazing place! After a bit of a scramble the cache was found. Log signed, all replaced as found.
Thanks Slow Puncture for the cache.

24-Jun-23
After the event, Willis007, chamad and I had a plan to drive up the nearby Goat Track to find all of the caches along it.
Even though there are roadworks happening here we were able to park the car at the suggested spot as there was no work happening today.
We enjoyed our walk down the almost dry rocky creek to gz. Chamad made the find here. Tftc

24-Jun-23
After today’s Maker event at Bryan burke park Willis007, Kolour and myself headed off to grab a few caches. There were a couple in the area of the park and then a drive west to clean up the goat track and a couple around Mt Glorious. Some of these I already had but it was nice to refresh my memory on a couple.
It was great to finish off the goat track as I had been here last time with the girls and it really was what they wanted to do by going into the bush from the side of the road. so today I was happy to have my caching buddies with me.
We signed the logs and replaced the caches as found and continued on our way. Thanks for the hides and the fun I had here today.

27-Feb-23
The end of February snuck up on me so I made an emergency dash out here to gather up the last remaining caches I needed to meet a month challenge. With roadworks happening, we tucked ourselves in behind some bollards before heading down the creek. What marvellous colours these rocks have. This was my most enjoyable find today as rock scrambling has always been one of my favourite things to do. Once we got as far down the creek as needed, we headed up to GZ for a nice speedy find. Thanks Slow Puncture (LJCC)

21/1/2023 Find #5643
Look out! KBreeAHH and I are on the loose today, and have decided to head this way for some caching mischief.
We parked up and wandered over and began our descent towards GZ.
This is such a pretty spot! We could easily have spent so much time smelling the roses and exploring further here!
But we did have some plans already for today, so it was cache hunting time. At GZ the phones were fairly insistent on the area we needed to be, so I began heading a tad up and soon made our find.
What I didn’t expect was the rock I was standing in to have serious wobble to it, and this caused much amusement to KBreeAHH below, who decided it was film-worthy. Once the log was signed we took a mini peak down further before heading off to continue today’s tasks.
Thanks for the cache Slow Puncture (LJCC).

FOUND! Our goal for today was the 5 caches up the goat track, a few that haven't been found in awhile.
I really enjoyed the rock hopping, dry feet. a few scratches on my legs after I climbed straight past the cache. Great way to finish a Sunday! Last signed October 2021. Dry inside. TFTC. Found with Ali!

last one for the day and was happy for the win! Plenty of room for swaps and trackables

We tried to find this one today but no luck. The creek was a light trickle, the rocks quite dry, but loads of debris from the recent floods.

Finally managed a visit to QLD after 2 years of planning and 6 lockdowns. New LGA's for me and fav caches were the main caches of focus.

Awesome spot. Fav

Took a while to find so happy to have done so.

Thanks to Slow Puncture for the placement and fun.

What an awesome cache!!! Thank you for placing this one Slowpuncture!! After about half an hour of scrambling and navigating up way farther than I had to, I started to descend, and much like a few others, I caught a glimpse of the container and that’s when I knew this few thorny vine pricks were worth it. It’s definitely a favourite of mine!

This afternoon, with a few errands completed and a pleasant weather afternoon, I thought I would head out solo back to Mount Nebo. I had previously attempted the geocache at that lookout six months ago but it was missing, and it has since been replaced. Then during my return back along Mount Nebo Road, I stopped at a few creative and high favourite wingaap geocaches, which closed out my enjoyable afternoon outing.

Nayfee
Having just completed my walk to Mount Nebo Lookout and on my way back to Brisbane, I thought I would make a stop here since this cache was just off the main road. I am keen to drive the Goat Track and find the cluster of geocaches hidden along there, but I thought completing those in a group would be more fun. So I ended up parking just prior to the Goat Track off Mount Nebo Road, and commenced my walk to GZ.

It had been raining last night and lightly in the morning, but yet the creek didn't have too much water in it; perhaps enough to enjoy the small flow and trickle. Hence, the rocks weren't too slippery to be able to walk down. I soon arrived close to GZ, and having read a few logs upon approach, I got an appreciation to what my next steps would be. So I then ascended, and soon spotted a good hiding spot area. However, similar to Nayfee before me, I must have ascended too high, as I found a pretty cool cave (and recognised Nayfee's note about squeezing between two boulders), and after checking around there, followed Nayfee's advice. I then soon found a cache suitably camouflaged. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. A Favourite Point from me for a cool area and fun adventure. Thanks Slow Puncture (LJCC) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

The event was over at Lake Wivenhoe, so I decided to grab a couple of caches on the way home. This one stood out because it's a large one and I need a few more of these for a challenge I'm very slowly chipping away at.

I parked the car on the side of the road and wandered back towards to goat track, I saw where I had to go and got a little nervous because it had been raining and the rocks were a little wet. I took my time getting down to the creek and slowly but surely I made my way towards GZ. After a few slips here and there, I was within 5 metres of GZ and saw where I had to go, up up and up! Luckily their was a few vines I could hold on to because if I had nothing I would've arsed up on several occasions. After several attempts I was there, or was I? I had a thorough search, even crawled between two huge boulders and couldn't find a thing that went with the hint. Hmm.. I think I may have gone a little too high, I dropped down a few metres and spotted something, I went in for a closer look and uncovered the cache. Woohoo!

Thank you for the fun adventure.

Escaping suburbia for a little peace and quiet ... and more exercise than planned!
Found safe parking and left Mrs VC and Winter the Geo-Cat in the air-conditioning while I went for a wander.
Fortunately the tide was out & a promise of rain was lacking so I managed a quick trip to GZ.
A quick look around and I picked my spot ... an easy find for Mr VC here today while wearing his trusted safety thongs! Big Grin
Liberated a geocoin, made our mark & replaced as found.

LOVE the location & I seem to have dropped a Favourite Point somewhere? [?]

Another wonderful Wednesday dawn wander with totalube and oz_bean_counter. We've made our way up the Goat Track and here is our finale. Now fully awake, very happy and muscles warmed up - time to get down and get dirty. Time to go bush. In the pre-read this one looked like it would be fun - but it was also extraordinarily pretty - the morning sunlight glistening off the wet granite slabs and through the light tree cover.

Not a lot of water down the creek, enough to make it a little slippery and a taste of how amazing it would be in full flow, but not too much to be treacherous (especially for the lubed one). Good amount of bounce at all of our chosen GZs, but in the end it wasn't the spots that would have been poor choices, it was in a good decent spot. And an awesome container too. A FP for the morning's entertainment, for this finale and the whole area. A perfect start to the day.

Thanks Slow Puncture for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #7810}* Cool

Seventh of eight caches for the morning. A fabulous start to the day pre-work caching with Pprime and totalube, starting at Samford and doing a loop of Mt Nebo. We watched the sun rise and the fog lift while waiting to start our day, and it was almost magical Smile. Great little corner of the world.
This was a relatively difficult find given the GPS bounce (and lack of reception). However, GZ is absolutely stunning and I could have sat here for hours soaking up the beauty. I love a big ammo can Very Happy. I think a FP has fallen out of my pocket.

What a beautiful spot! This is a spot to show the rest of the family and would love to see it after a good bit of rain. Even with the slippery approach and the bruise on my rear end Wink wasn't enough to damper this find.

It was difficult to get a GPS lock but after searching a bit wider, we found a nice big cache, nice and well hidden.

Thanks a fav point from me Smile

A bit of water in the creek an limped down on a good and a half.
Found some great hiding spots a bit further up the rocks. After exploring the caves I headed back down and spotted a corner of the cache
Have a fav point for the location

Thank you for placing this geocache Slow Puncture

What an adventure. We finally hit the end of the goat track and enjoyed the wander down the creek and some rock hopping . Some still slippy even though dry! Used our senses to locate the cache with TeamARF rather precariously perched so he passed it to me to sign! Enjoyed the cool stroll before heading back down the Goat! Fave point for a top location

Last find of the day before heading back along the track to the waiting cars. Took the trail head down the creek and onto the rock base. Found even though the rocks were dry that the rocks were also slippery so please beware future finders. At the appropriate spot went up the bank and the cache was spotted. Thanks Slow Puncture for an interesting spot to hide your 100th and another great song. A FP from me!

Found this cache whilst out and about in the Mt Glorious Mt Nebo area and decided to drop off a few trackables in the process. To Slow Puncture TFTC this one almost had the inspectorrexteam stumped but a at the last moment it was spotted..

15-Feb-20
When I got to the top of the Goat Track, I discovered that a large tree had only just fallen across the bridge and completely cut off the road. The main trunk was too big to move off the bridge so I would have to drive back down. But first I helped a couple of others move a smaller trunk off Mt Nebo Rd by backing my car up and attaching a rope. That worked a treat and we clear Mt Nebo Rd. We tried calling the council but couldn't find an out of office hours phone number so called the firies instead.

Once all the excitement was over and the others had left, I headed down to the cache which I spotted quickly. I wasn't sure if it had slipped down as the hint didn't seem to apply but it was nestled snugly in some rocks. While there, with the water from the recent rains flowing, I took the opportunity to take some long exposure photos of the waterfalls, one of which I'm very happy with.

Thanks for the cache

Wow! What an amazing spot. This place would definitely be amazing after some rain and we need it bad. Mowing the lawn (which is 50% dust) just isn’t fun at the moment.

As we closed in we would hear some buzzing that kept getting louder. It sounded like a horde of bees about to attack. If you’ve ever smeared some honey in the bedroom then you know the sound I’m talking about. It’s not the sound of bees but the buzzing your washing machine makes just as its about to blow up getting the honey out of the sheets.

Then the stink began. Whatever funky thing was causing this had met an unfortunate end. The closer we got to the the cache, the worst the stink got and the louder the buzzing flies got. Who needs a GPS when caches are hidden next to roadkill?

We found the grey haired mass of something: a rabbit, a kangaroo, a koala or some other marsupial we learnt about at school and it stunk. It was breathe through your mouth or hurl stuff. Whatever it was, it’s innards we’re stretched out and of course it was right next to the cache. The stink made for a quick find because we were starting to get dizzy from oxygen withdrawal. tftc

2000th. that's really hard to say. This is it my 2000th cache. I was going to wait until I go to Townsville next month to find my 2000th but it crept up on me. So I decided last night to make this my 2000th cache because the co has been a great geo friend to me (thanks). My muggle friend and I took the goat track to get here which was amazing. we stopped at got 2 caches on the way and admired the tree of toys. we parked at the suggested parking spot and made our way to gz. We both took our time taking lots of photos and enjoying this place. I can imagine if there was lots of rain it would be impossible to get to gz but today it was a lovely dry day and we haven't had rain for awhile. Lei waited at gz while I had a little search for the cache and there is was my 2000th cache. Thanks for all the fun and help you have given me Mrs sp and thanks for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy. off course giving this a fp

Caching after work today with DoratheExplorer! I ran out of time last time I was in the area to find the last three caches along this road. Today, I figured that we should have enough time to find them. With no rain in recent months, there was very little water in the creek, so the going was quite easy today. Very pretty along the creek. My caching buddy for the day had previously found this cache, so, once at GZ, I searched. The cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC

This was going to be my first cache for the day, and I managed to make it very exciting. Firstly I did indeed slip and drop my phone into the only pool of water around. Oops. New phone for me. Secondly, I climbed up way higher than the cache (there is a very cool cave up the top), but just could not find the cache. I descended and there it was, haha. This is a fantastic cache, a favourite from me. Now I’m off to get a new phone...

After a crappy work week, I rewarded myself with a Sunday arvo bush on Mt Nebo. I approached this one from the Goat Track, which has recently been graded and rolled.

Glad to say I can fit through the "other" and soon enough was cautiously tip toeing over the slab. What a fantastic spot ! Can't imagine what this creej would look like after a lot of rain. Finding another ammo can at GZ tipped the scales for a crooked favourite point.

Thanks Slow Puncture.

Had the pleasure of climbing a mountain with Mrs Slow Puncture recently. I find myself up this mountain today with a car which is a much easier way of doing things.

Kids suggested some caching and a picnic today so sounds like a great way to spend Fathers Day in my opinion.

Stopped here on our way past and wife and kids waited while I went down to explore.

Really liked this one. Always enjoyed doing this type of creek hopping when I was younger. Rocks are angled nicely, nice big slabs, really cool and it was dry today so no problems at all with footing.

Thanks for placing this cache here Slow Puncture and congrats on 100 hides.

Find #437 for me and a favourite.

Cheers Mr Jaiger

With a cool (well just right) day forecast it was time to take on a MTB ride up the Goat Track and collect the caches along the way. With caches toi be had there was not going to be any Strava PB’s today but I was surprised that the last half to the top did feature (must have been the caching rests on the way.)
All told nearly 80 km home to the top and return with 1266 m elevation (according to the GPS) However Garmin always seems to cut that back a tad

Parked right on top of the cache and scrambled down. Cache in hand I though it might be easier to walk to the top. Now that was a mistake smooth rock and bike shoes made for a very interesting journey. Cool

I too like Dire Straits.

Dora the Explorer! and I were out caching today specifically seeking out tree climbing caches however when we decided to head home Dora the Explorer suggested we should look at this cache as it was not too for away.

This cache has an attractive D/T rating and it is also a large cache which will be helpful for another challenge that I am completing.

As we were heading up the mountain it started raining but as we were there we decided to risk it despite the CO's warnings because that is what we do.

We were able to walk down the rocks carrying an umbrella in one hand and a GPS in another and although there was a potential to slip on the rocks, there were no incidents.

We made it to GZ without and problems and soon had found the cache.

The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.

This is certainly a pretty place and can only imagine how good it would look on a fine day.

All is good with this cache.

I took a drive out Mt Nebo way this afternoon, firstly to grab the few caches that have recently turned up there, but also to get my Big Blue Switch souvenir. This was my first cache, and I was prepared for a hard effort to get to GZ, but that was a very pleasant short wander [^] GPS gave me some trouble, with accuracy out to 16 metres, but the hint made things easier, and I soon was adding my name to the logbook. Approaching the top of the Goat Track I wasn't expecting to be stopped by a guy with a sign, but there are some road improvements going on here. Parked as suggested, and headed to the trailhead, which was the precise location of 4 road workers having a break. They were nice enough, and when I indicated I'd be heading down the creek, they suggested I keep going way down as there was an old hut down there somewhere.

As it was, light rain had been falling, which meant a high probability I would be doing the same. Each step was taken gingerly, my hiking boots are grippy in the dirt but not so good on slippery rocks, and I have an unpleasant memory of slipping in the same conditions at Stanthorpe 2 years ago, resulting in a bad case of granitosus Red Face. Maybe I needed some shoes with a Rubber Soul Wink.

Down down I went. This area is gorgeous (pardon the pun), actually spectacular might be a better word. I climbed around and had a good search here and there, taking my time to enjoy the experience. Eventually the Oregon pointed me over there, where I saw something familiar after a little scramble. Woohoo! Stamped my name in the FTF spot then took some pics for posterity.

When we started out caching, Slow Puncture (or Team LJCC as they were) hides were among the first we came across in our area, and it seemed the more we found the more there were to be found! We picked up a few tips on hiding and contents of containers just from finding their caches, and always enjoyed the well written cache pages. Congratulations to both of you on placing your 100th hide, you certainly found a special place for a big container. An FP for all your efforts placing and maintaining caches for us all to find.

Thanks **Slow Puncture** for the adventure, this find makes Smile #3575. Discover our trackable TGQNRV .
