I arrived in Sydney this morning after a long night of flying from Atlanta and through Los Angeles. The flight was great, nice and smooth and I was able to sleep so I wasn't tired when I got off the plane. Going through customs was a breeze. It look me longer to get the rental car keys than to get through customs. One issue with my hotel reservation was I should have booked the hotel to check in last night so I could have dropped my bags and showered before starting to get outside an explore. Alas, the hotel was not ready and I finally ended up just parking at the Opera House and checking things out to pass the time.As I was wondering around the Opera House, it began to rain but not too heavily. I was able to stop and complete the two ECs here during my visit. I have already submitted the answers to this EC to the CO.

Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand .On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland

Another very interesting EarthCache that got me to look at the construction of this building and why granite was chosen. Looking closely, it was a great choice, as the construction is in fantastic condition despite the heavy foot traffic. Thanks again for the cache.

I am visiting Sydney from further west and of course a visit to this iconic location was included. I was lucky to attend a wedding, a meal, a musical and a guided tour as well as general wandering around. Quite the adventure !This earth cache challenged me a little. Geology is not my strong point. It was raining on the day I was collecting information and my muggle partner was not playing the game.Regardless, I love the fact that earth caches prompt me to observe more closely and think a little - it certainly enriches the total experience I have sent the answers and will amend this note log to a find if authorised .

Found with fitzy_1965 whilst in Sydney for a work awards night overnight. This morning, we decided to do some caching whilst we put a bit of charge back in the car. It was nice to wander around the City (even in the sporadic drizzle) and visiting places I hadn't been for a good number of years. It has been a long while since I visited here. The first time was only 1 year after it opened. I have a photo of that on my wall.

Found with minniek during a weekend visit to Sydney.minniek and I are attending a Non-Geocaching Event (a what??) in Sydney this weekend, and we of course grabbed a few caches along the way for International Geocaching Day. After checking out of our hotel this morning and plugging in the car, we wandered around for a few hours cherry picking a few caches. We wanted to find a few of the rarer cache types for todays date, so we headed down to the Opera House for the Virtual plus the Earthcaches. What a fun Earthcache to do. While I have visited the Opera House dozens of times over the years, today I learnt quite a bit about it between these three caches. Despite some closed areas today the required info has been gathered, and minniek will send in our answers soon. Piccie attached. Thanks 2qt2bstr818 !! Favourite Point of course !

On geocaching with Graubunden, all day in Sydney CBD one and half weeks ago. Over 25 geofinds that day, including two sets of Adventure Labs. Plus relaxation time being refreshed with tasty foods and drinks. An urban outing.Today is a cold wet winter day, not so ideal for bush geocaching. Time to work out the required answers to complete this Earthcache, now sent off. Heres my mandatory mugshot - holding up a handy traceable (since passed over to another fellow geocacher to carry on). Bisoutje and I have spent another day at the Sydney Harbour and the Royal Botanical gardens next door. We've explored the area at night but during the day these walks are just as beautiful. Many photos were took which is usually an indication of a day well spent.I have logged many EC's about granite and feldspar over the years but rarely one this informative. I learned a lot by reading the listing and I enjoyed doing the fieldwork witj the info in the back of my mind. I had to connect the dots myself here and I loved doing that. I hope my answers make sense. They have been sent to the CO.TFTC and fav point awarded.

This cache was originally on my list for my first afternoon in Sydney but the weather was horrible and there were tons of folks about. I was there early for my Opera House tour and was able to look at the rocks more closely. The whole Opera House is stunning including the thoughtful use of this colorful stone.Answers have been sent to the CO.Thank you for the smiley and the fun! The day:I was visiting from the U.S. and had just completed my goal of driving all the way up the east coast starting in Melbourne and ending in Port Douglas over a few weeks. I arrived in Sydney three days ago as the last stop before heading home. I was sad that my adventure was coming to an end, but I was looking forward to exploring Sydney including the architect's tour of the Opera House. Sadly, the weather was miserable, so it was a soggy trek around town. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but I do appreciate you.

Day 20 of our roadtrip in Australia. We're in Sydney now, so no road tripping the next days, instead a lot of walking. There's so much to see here! And what we love so far, a lot of the caches have very precise hints, very tourist friendly. Today's plan is the Opera guided tour and the Botanical Gardens. We hope of course that the rain forecasted will not come. Second EC at this iconic building. The QAPF diagram is quite hard to understand, hoping we have managed some correct answers. Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo

Cockburn Crew on tour to the Canberra Mega. Day 1 involved a bunch of caching around Sydney before making our way to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. We found a huge variety of caches, and its great to cache in new territory that we havent explored much in the past. Unlike our home state of Western Australia where we have found just about anything and everything.A beautiful day with great weather and even better company. Thank you to the local COs for a great day in and around this great country of ours.

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra on Good Friday, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. Todays plan was to head to the inner west to knock off a few LGAs and undertake a cleanup of CBD caches, before shooting off to catch up with friends in the evening in North Sydney. I eyed off a few caches and LGAs to clean up in the process. If youre receiving this log, the chances are that todays mission was a success. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers 2qt2bstr818! Big GrinJoin us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

Mrs. Amazing and I are on a 26 day bucket list trip of New Zealand and Australia. Our last stop is Sydney for three days glorious days. We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand that passed quickly. This morning we flew from Auckland to Sydney where we arrived early in the afternoon. Took the subway to our hotel. We have a few hours before it is getting dark so we want to visit the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Although we have been here before it remains a marvellous place to visit. This time we had a closer look at the granite and visited the restrooms. The answers have been sent by janvandevis. Thank you very much for this educational earthcache.

Citius, Altius, Fortius! I was obsessed with the Sydney Olympics growing up so it was extra special to visit the Opera House on the first day of my trip "down under" with jtcoffee. While our main goal is to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-event in Adelaide on Thursday, we're also packing in as many other adventures as possible. On the horizon:* Experience Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney (TONIGHT!) * Drive the Great Ocean Road * Visit the Lord of the Rings filming locations in New Zealand * Finally tackle a challenge cache requiring 31 Earthcaches, and 31 Virtuals in 31 days (GC32TBZ and GC32TC2)This was the second Earthcache of this trip and at a place I've always wanted to see. Our answers have been sent by Jessie, my personal earchcache coordinator. Thanks for placing this one and contributing to our first day in Oz!

Greetings from Seattle! I am lucky enough to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide with my fellow Lackey and best geo-buddy giacaches, and we arrived this morning - kicked off our shoes and sweaters, put on sunscreen and sandals and headed into the wilds to find some caches in a new place - all before we headed to Accor Stadium to see Taylor Swift. What a day!Since I've learned about this building I've wanted to see it - it felt like you don't see Sydney without taking in this building up close! I was glad to see there were so many geocaches there to celebrate how cool a building it is.Answers have been sent in for both of us. Thanks so much for adding to this amazing trip!!

Second day in Australia ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary continent and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. The day started with visiting the event at the opera. I had already admired it from afar. Up close, the shine fades, although the architecture is still impressive. The effects of the weather are clearly visible. After the event, I went with Biggidag and Sr. Elli to the earthcaches at the opera house. Together we took notes on the questions. A souvenir photo of the impressive site is a matter of course. I sent the answers to the owner via message center. Thank you for laying & taking care Smile.Zweiter Tag in Australien ??.

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we visited the areas around Sydney.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.

Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.Today, after my event in botanic parc, we visit the opera. It is beautifull. We are very enjoy by this visit.WE are lucky, we were sheltered in the opera house at the start of the storm. We were well watered in the afternoon for the rest of our visits. Thanks for the cache on this beautifull building

#17.629Unfortunately, we only saw the opera house from a distance the day before yesterday. Today the time was right and we took a closer look at the imposing building. It really is incredible how visionary the building was back then. An absolute highlight to marvel at from near and far. Thank you for showing us around and for the information.TFTC

I enjoyed this earth, Geocache very much. Ive done many many geocaches discussing granites. This one was very thorough and a little bit different than other ones. I enjoyed exploring its composition. Ive been by the opera house many times. 30 years ago, and today. We had the pleasure of going to see the magic flute opera the other night. Thanks for creating this interesting earth Geocache. Favored point.
